Episode 18: Sunlight of Eternal Passion.

There was a silence between them, both were still and just held one another. Inuyasha's brain was trying to process and accept what she had just said, sure they had already promised to do this and most likely would have done it earlier too had it not been for than mangy wolf… but still, hearing her say with such a warm, longing and beautiful voice it took him slightly off guard. Briefly he replayed that single most precious moment in his mind, when he had asked her to be his mate and she said only that one simple answer: "Hai… (Yes)" that was the one memory that separated all this from a dream, that single moment and that single word…

Now, he was holding the young woman who had changed his life forever, the innocent girl who was dragged into the well had grown into a strong woman and held the title of "White Priestess", the legendary Miko… she could take down entire swarms of Youkai with a single arrow and she was the most critical element needed when Naraku was destroyed, not to mention she held the responsibility to protect the Shikon no Tama from the hands of evil.

Yet, even if she had all that power, it didn't change the fact she was still just a human… at this moment, she didn't look like some legendary, fearless, invincible Miko… no, now she looked like a regular young woman who needed to feel loved by the man she had fallen in love with, her eyes were so weak and it reminded him of a small child pleading to be held… he knew how she felt right now, they had come close to dying one too many times during the past 2 days and just trying to imagine what it would be like if it had happened made even his spine shiver with coldness, yet his heart felt warm, they truly were meant to be together… they could have both died yesterday or just one of them could have died, yet against all possible odds they were both still alive and still holding each other like this, this must be a blessing from the gods or something… and he would be damned before wasting it.

The silence had felt like forever but if you looked at the time, it had only been less than 5 seconds… the sun was still high on the sky but it was cloudy, so the light wasn't perfect but whatever light shone through the window and covered the still embracing mates-to-be, it made them look like two beings from an ancient legend…

Inuyasha then slowly pulled her head from his shoulder and looked at her in the eyes, they might not be of same colour but for a moment, it was as if they were staring at a mirror: They're eyes held the exact same amount of love, longing, fear and warmth, it was as if they're souls were one and the same at that moment. Inuyasha put intertwined one of his hands clawed fingers with her own hand and brought it between them, she smiled warmly and took a firmer grip of his hand as his other hand came to caress her cheek and she leaned into it lightly, her eyes closing and she just concentrated to feel his rough yet warm skin against her cheek, he then slowly released the hand that was intertwined with hers and with smoothness and gentleness put it around her waist and pulled her into another gentle and tender kiss, to which she responded immediately by wrapping both her arms around his neck while his went around her waist and back to steady her on his lap.

During the kiss, Kagome could feel herself melting against Inuyasha, her heart and insides were steadily becoming warmer, her mind was replaying that day when he finally confessed his love for her… the day before Naraku's defeat, the words he said were still so fresh in her mind: {[=Kagome, when all this is over… will… err… will you stay with me? I am sorry that all this had to happen, all this misery that you had to go through… but Kagome, no matter what I have said or done in the past, I hope you can forgive me because… because I love you, I really do… I cannot picture my life without you at my side, so I am asking you now: When all this is over, will you stay by my side as… as the woman I love?=]}

He had been so vulnerable at that time, she could literally feel his stress as he had said those words, it had taken everything from him to say those words… he had been so honest and defeated, like he was just waiting for her to drop the hammer and end it all. Kagome still mentally smiled of the look on his face when at that time, instead of turning him down like he had been expecting her to for all the bad things he had put her through, instead of that she had just kissed him at that time and told him simply this with a warm smile: "What took you so long to ask?"

At that time, they almost made love but chose not to… since the grim reality was that if one of them died in the battle with Naraku, it would be painful if they started something the wouldn't be able to finish, it had also been they're top motivation when they fought that infernal monster, it had been they're iron hard promise and source of willpower to survive… survive the fight with that monster so they're love could be consumed and brought into it's true form.

Then Kouga interfered and then Kasaraki appeared… it was either as if gods wanted them torn apart or were constantly testing them, either way you put it, enough was enough. As they're kiss parted, they stared into each others eyes while breathing softly against each others lips, they're breaths mingling and mixing… as this happened, Kagome said to Inuyasha with a voice so low and warm it made his very soul tingle with warmth: "Inuyasha… please, don't make me wait anymore…" How could he possibly deny her from that? After a small moment of waiting, he slowly got up with her in his arms, her legs locking around his waist and her head buried in his shoulder once again.

As Inuyasha began to walk towards her room, each step making him feel more and more happy and warm… if this was some dream that he was seeing right now, he would kill whoever the sorry bastard was who would dare to wake him up now.

Kagome was smiling warmly against his neck, she too was in a similar state as Inuyasha was, she could feel each step they took towards her room, the room where they would become mates… it all felt like a dream, she had a hard time convincing herself that this was really happening, after everything that had happened it was just so hard to believe that she was now being carried like a bride to the room that would become they're own private little sanctuary for today, the sanctuary where they're love would finally bloom into it's true form.

When they reached the door, Inuyasha suddenly remembered what she had said to him just a minute ago… He stopped completely for a moment to get her full attention, though she didn't remove her face from his neck he could tell she was listening so he said to her while opening the door: "I never intended to make you wait… my mate." (Is it just me or did that rhyme?)

As they entered Kagome's room, she slowly untangled her legs from around his waist and stood on her own while still holding him. Inuyasha then used his foot to make the door close by itself but just before it closed, Kagome pulled away from his neck slowly and looked into his eyes… time seemed to freeze as she said to him with her voice full of warm emotions: "I love you…" He replied by putting his arms more securely around her waist and back before replying with a warm smile: "I love you too, my Kagome."

Just before the door closed, you could see them lean into one another and kiss with all the love they held for one another… then the door to they're sanctuary closed securely, separating them from the outside world and leaving them into they're own world of absolute love that was built over 4 years of strife, fights, pain and warmth…

*In the feudal era *

Miroku, Sango and Kaede had been talking non-stop for over an hour now, the talking had mostly been about Kasaraki and his `terror presence' and trying to figure out a way to go around it. They did change the topic however since it was going nowhere and fast, so Miroku opened a new topic for them: "Do you know what really puzzles me? What deeply puzzles me is that what did Kikyo know about Kasaraki? I can remember her calling him the `ruin-bringer' just before he killed her… saying that: "3000 years and people still call me that, I hate that nickname!" What was that all about…?"

Kaede nodded and replied: "That is very troubling indeed… my sister was clearly aware of what or who Kasaraki was, yet she did not have the time to tell us. `ruin-bringer'… that is a very unusual nickname for someone to have, why is he called that?"

Sango was the one to guess about that: "Maybe it has something to do with him being sealed for 3000 years… which makes me wonder, who sealed him and why? How was he sealed inside the bone eaters well? I thought that only Kagome and Inuyasha had the power to travel through it…?"

There was another silence before Miroku said: "This keeps getting more and more puzzling with each answer… it seems like whenever we come up with an answer to one thing, it opens a whole new row of questions that are even more puzzling than the previous ones. Yet, even with my vast knowledge about Youkai and seals, I cannot remember ever hearing someone being sealed inside the bone eaters well or about ever hearing the name `ruin-bringer' before."

Another silence fell upon them, before Sango said something: "I wonder about him, Kasaraki does not seem like someone who would kill someone just for the fun of it. In fact, he seems like a true warrior rather than something that fits the description of the name like `ruin-bringer', when you think about that name… you would expect him to be more like Naraku, yet he is the perfect opposite side of that name, who would call him the `ruin-bringer' and why was he sealed in that well?"

Miroku answered that one: "It's true that he is unlike Naraku or what would fit into that nickname… yet, his aura scares me to the very core when I think about it, how can one persons aura hold that much death in it? If I had to compare, I don't know which of these is more scarier, Inuyasha's when he looses his sword and turn into a full demon or Sesshoumaru's aura when compared to Kasaraki's `terror presence'… I wonder if the nickname is not meant to refer as to what he is but more rather to something he DID in the past, that ended up with him being sealed."

Kaede nodded: "It would make sense, the bone eaters well is a transport between times, which means he was sealed inside time itself, since every sealing magic requires either a catalyst or a source of power for it to work, if he was sealed inside time itself… it would mean that the seal was using the flow of time as it's source for power."

Sango gasped at that one and said: "But… from what I know about magic, doing something like that would require a tremendous amount of power and not to mention… it would mean that the well and the time passage in it…"

Miroku then finished: "It would mean that the bone eaters well and the passage in time were created on that very moment Kasaraki was sealed…"

Heavy silence filled the air, if that was true then it would mean that Kasaraki was not only something completely beyond for them to comprehend but also the very reason Kagome was able to travel through time in the first place! What in the name of seven hells had happened 3000 years ago? They all then felt the very same thing in they're spines: They had gotten themselves involved into something so enormous that they themselves were nothing but mere insects to whatever it was… like ants going up against a god.

Miroku could feel the heavy tension in the air and decided to break it by saying: "I think… we should stop for now, this is getting rather heavy on us and I for one need to rest… now that I carefully think about it, we haven't slept at all the entire night, we were so busy fighting Naraku and celebrating not to mention fighting Kasaraki the whole night and now talking about all this… I think it's safe to say that we all need a rest period for now."

Both Kaede and Sango nodded, he was right… they should rest before going any further with this one, since it could the last time they could rest for a while because there was no telling as to when Kasaraki would return.

*Back in the modern era*

`Incarnation of perfection and absolute beauty…' Were Inuyasha's thoughts as he stared at Kagome, who now stood completely naked in front of him, the sun light that peeked through the clouds made her look like some kind of a flawless celestial maiden, it still amazed him how her skin and body had remained in they're flawless and perfect state over the 4 years of fighting, there wasn't a single scratch on her body, not one.

`Incarnation of unchained passion and unchained primal beauty…' Were Kagome's thoughts as she stared at the inu-hanyou standing naked in front of her, his bronze like skin and the pure silver hair that cascaded all over his back… all the battle scars that marred his otherwise flawless skin only made him look all the more perfect, since most of the scars were received protecting her life, each of them was the symbol of his devotion and need to protect her.

They just stared each other in the eyes, there was a small space between them so they could simply just marvel the perfection of one another… still finding all this hard to believe to be real, here they were naked as the day they were born in front of one another and would soon become one in the dance of life older than both human and Youkai race combined…

Kagome was the one to break the silence by saying one simple word: "Inuyasha…" with a voice so warm and loving it would make anyone's heart melt…

Inuyasha followed suite and said with a tender voice he never knew he had: "Kagome…" The voice he hadn't used since his mothers death, the voice that now only Kagome's ears had the sacred privilege to hear…

They slowly closed the space between them, it had only been two steps for both of them but both of those steps had felt like an eternity for the both of them, as they're bodies inched towards one another they're minds played memories of they're first encounters, they're fights, they're arguments… and they're rare moments when they understood one another and showed the small amounts of affection…

When they stood in front of one another, not quite touching but only a few inches away from one another, they were lost within one another's presence and the world around them simply ceased to exist… they only saw one another, nothing else at all. They moved as if knowing what the other was about to do, they're arms slowly moved at the exact same time, which still felt like an eternity as they're minds played more memories… this time about all the life and death battles they had fought over the 4 years, they're first fight against the centipede Youkai, the shattering of the jewel, Sesshoumaru, Thunder brothers, Kagura, Kanna, Goshinki, Naraku… and also the time when Inuyasha had turned full demon, those times she had been playing with death when trying to make him return to normal…

When they're arms wrapped around each other, the warmth of them against each others skin made them both shiver mentally. They felt so different to them, Kagome's hands were soft, warm and gentle while his were rough and calloused but the warmth in them made them feel so amazing, not to mention the gentle feeling of his claws on her skin… she really loved those claws, they could cut stone in half and yet they wouldn't hurt her no matter what, she trusted him completely.

Ever so slowly, almost as if hesitating, they lowered they're mouths towards one another while slowly closing each others eyes, as they're lips moved towards one another and they could feel each others breaths on one another's lips, more memories surfaced… all the times they had argued, all the times he had insulted her or all the times he had been jealous of her whenever Kouga popped out and lastly all the times Kagome had shouted to him about him and Kikyo, all this flashed behind they're eyes… then they just stopped.

They stopped the second they're lips made contact with one another, all those memories just simply washed away and were replaced with the feeling of each others lips on one another, first tenderly and slowly… as if it was the first kiss they shared. After a few moments, they're hold on one another became more firmer as the kiss deepened with both love and passion, making Kagome moan softly as Inuyasha growled softly against her lips.

As they're kiss went on, they could feel each others body temperature rising as heat filled Kagome's lower body and Inuyasha could feel his member slowly coming to life once again. After a little while, Inuyasha used his tongue to tickle her lips, asking for entrance into her mouth which she answered to without a moment of hesitation… so as his tongue slid into her mouth to play with her tongue and taste the insides of her mouth, her tongue did the same and so the tongue war began.

Then they finally had to break apart for air, much to each other's disappointment. As they both panted for air, Kagome had a nice shade of pink developing under her eyes from the flushed feeling she experienced, while Inuyasha's eyes had tinted with red from the passion and heat he held back…

As they're breath returned to normal, they looked at each other with half lidded eyes and what they in them made Inuyasha grow even harder as Kagome's lower region began to throb even more to feel him, they're eyes held so much lust for one another it was intoxicating. Without saying a word, since no words were needed right now, they kissed once again but this time before it went any deeper, Inuyasha began to move his lips lower onto her jawbone, from there he moved his mouth onto her neck and began to kiss, nip and lick it while purring softly.

Kagome moaned out loudly as Inuyasha was planting kisses, licking and planting love bites all over her neck and shoulder, her womanhood began to throb even more as she began to pant, moan and whimper from the heated feeling of his kisses. Inuyasha was fighting to keep his inner demon in control, he could feel her body screaming for him to take her but he wanted to first make her feel good… it was the least he could do for her before taking her as his own. If that hadn't been enough to make her feel like this was heaven, then it was certain that she was in heaven when Inuyasha began to slowly move in and out of her, setting a slow, torturous yet unbelievably sweet pace.

Kagome slumped against Inuyasha's chest as they slowly came down from they're crest, Inuyasha had to brace one had against the wall so he wouldn't squash her against it, they could both still feel her inner muscles lightly milking him while his still partially hard member shot one more, much smaller amount of seed into her… which made her moan and him grunt from the warm, pleasurable feeling of it occurring.

In the afterglow of they're love making, neither said anything, there was no need… he just slowly withdrew his now soft member from her core, making her mewl with disappointment when they're connection broke and he grunted from the feeling of her core still slightly squeezing around his member when he withdrew it.

After a moment of basking in the warm afterglow of they're love making, Inuyasha gently lowered her so she stood on her feet, though he had to support her from falling since her body felt like there wasn't a single bone left in it, both were still panting slowly as they're hearts were slowly settling down from they're intense beating and they're other body functions returning to normal, during that time they just held onto one another, with her head against his chest while his head rested on top of her head, taking in her scent mixing with his… the [mating claim] was now complete, she was his and the only way that someone could take her from him would be to kill him first.

After a long, comfortable silence, Inuyasha asked Kagome something that had bothered him: "Kagome…?" He heard her make a: "Hmmm?" sound against his chest which made him swell with pride, she sounded so content and happy… but anyway, he asked her: "… why were you crying just now…?" He asked that with a bit uncertain voice, not really knowing if it had been good or bad.

Kagome was silent for a moment before two new, smaller tears came into her eyes when she remembered how she had felt at that moment… before Inuyasha could ask about her new tears she answered with a warm, loving voice: "Because I was so happy… this is like a dream, a dream that I've hoped for so long to happen… I love you so much… Inuyasha." He was slightly taken back by her words, he had known she loved him but she had dreamed about all this? This made him relax considerably before he responded after kissing her forehead and looking at her straight in the eyes, the lone tears making her look so beautiful: "Then… that makes two of us, Kagome, my mate." They then kissed gently once again, using they're actions instead of words to tell one another how they felt.

It was still mid-day but both felt completely exhausted, they hadn't slept an eyeful since they're final fight with Naraku and considering what they did just now… well, it was amazing they hadn't fallen asleep right away. So by using his last bit of demonic strength, Inuyasha carried Kagome onto her bed and laid there besides her, both on they're sides facing each other… they're eyes showing the love and warmth they felt for one another and the sleepiness in them was simply mesmerizing.

As he pulled the covers over them, she put her arms around his back while his arms go around her waist, holding her securely against himself, as they looked at each other in the eyes, he told her: "When things settle down again and when you're fertile period arrives, I will place my [family claim] on you… do you accept, my mate?" Kagome looked at him with a dreamy smile and while pressing her face against his chest, she gave her answer knowing full well what the family claim meant and it made her feel very happy to know that he and her would start a family together… so her answer had been the same simply word that had pulled Inuyasha from the jaws of death earlier and the one answer that both would forever remember:

[Mating claim]: I know I've explained this before but here's something new: Since this is my story, the mating system is also my own, there are three levels of claiming, the lowest is the `vocal claim' like the one Kouga placed on Kagome by calling her `his woman', the female may refuse this claim and just ignore the male until he gives up. Then the mid-level claim, `mating claim', this can be done with or without the vocal claim but it requires the females consent, this claim is done when the female agrees to be the males mate, after mating the female will carry the males scent on her, telling the other Youkai she is taken and off-limits, there is only one way for this claim to be cancelled: It is to kill the male who placed it, this must be done by challenging him or it won't work. Then there is the high and absolute level claim…

[Family claim]: This is the absolute claim, however before this claim can be placed, the mating claim must be done first… otherwise it will be left incomplete. The family claim is a bite mark placed onto the females neck, where the shoulder and neck meet, this is done when the two mate and the female is fertile, when the point of climax arrives and the male impregnates the female, the bite mark will be placed onto her to claim both her and the child as his family, when this happens it cannot be reversed no matter what, of course the females consent is required with this one as well. The family claim also binds them both emotionally and physically, meaning that if either the female or the child are in peril, the male will know through the bond they share as a family.
