InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ DarkWorld ❯ Prologue ( Prologue )
This is DarkWorld Here, nothing is the same. The world itself is unrecognizable. You may find a twin of yourself walking about, but likely as a slave to someone more powerful. Here, evil rules. His name. . .Naraku. You will find that his is the only name that remains the same from our own LightWorld. He rules with the power of the Shikon No Tama, the Jewel of Four Souls. He ruls with demons at his side, clenching the weaker souls in corrupted hands. Very few have the power, skill, and nerve to challenge him, and fewer still have lived through his attacks to speak of it. The few who still fight are growing weaker, older, and have very little left to serve as food, shelter and medicines. The land itself is near waste, where little grows and littler still are allowed to. The plants themselves are controlled by the Grand Emperor. To hear his name is to know fear; to see his face is to know exactly how short your own lifespan is. Luck be with you, friend or foe, for you will need it in this place. . .
Your adventure begins now, but not in DarkWorld. It begins with a group of allies in LightWorld. They have recently won the hardest battle any have faced, suceeding in defeating the menace of Naraku and reclaiming the Shikon no Tama in the name of good. The head of this group is the half-demon Inuyasha, who shows much reluctance with his emotions, openng up to few besides the lovely young priestess, Kagome. Kagome is very special, being from the year 1996 and traveling back in time by accident. She came to the year 1493, where Japan was equally split between demons and humans. Most of these demons are a menace, attacking as they please and taking what they wish. Even so they trembled at the scent of Naraku, and those smart enough ran from the incoming Inuyasha.
Among this group is the beauty Sango, who was raised in a village of Demon Exterminators, and has become top in her field, even before her family was killed by her possessed younger brother. Her weapon of choice: a large boomerang made of the bones of dead demons, as long as she is tall. Another member is the cursed monk Miroku, a lecherous man with an affinity for touching a woman's rear end. His right hand was cursed with a black hole, of which he called a Wind Tunnel. This curse began with his grandfather and was passed down the generations. If Naraku, the one who placed the curse, was not killed, eventually the black hole would grow too large for his palm and would suck him into it, as had happened with his father and grandfather.
Two demons as well are in this group. The young fox demon, Shippo, who is smart for his age and very clever as foxes are, quick to use his illusions and FoxFire. He was orphaned by two demons, the Thunder Brothers, of whom Inuyasha killed when one brother sought to use her as an ingrediant in a potion to grow his hair. He has become a useful member of their group and began seeing Kagome as a mother-figure, often sleeping with her in her sleeping bag when she spent the night in Sengoku Jidai, the Feudal Era. The other demon is tiny Kirara, a FireCat with two tails. She has two forms: a small kitten, perfect for looking cute, harmless and easily carried on your shoulder; and her larger form, her true demon form, as large as a horse, baring two large fangs and with the ability to fly. She was once an ally of Midoriko and now loyal to Sango and the rest of their group.
These six adventurers fought many demons, humans and threats in a few short months, searching for the Shikon Shards - the shards of the Shikon no Tama which was shattered when shot with an arrow. Naraku as well came after the shards, sending one demon he tore from himself after another to dispose of Inuyasha and his group, failing in every attempt to do little more than strengthen the group. In the last battle the six rose above the damned Naraku, who once was a burned human named Onigumo - he gave himself to demons in exchange for absorbing the demons and becoming Naraku. As Naraku fell the tension over the land of Japan was released and Kagome fused the Shikon no Tama together. It left the group with one final task. . .
Make a wish.
