Kagome smiled, laughing loudly as she and her friends skated around the floor of the packed skating rink. The music blasted through the speakers, making her rock to the beat as she rolled along the floor. "How do you do that?!" Sango asked her over the music. "Do what?" Kagome asked, startled out of her music daze. "Dance and skate. I'll bust my butt if i'd try that." Sango asked, awe filling her voice as Rin and Ayame looked at her. Kagome shrugged, blushing a bit. "I don't know...guess i was made to dance." Kagome chuckled, scratching the back of her head as she slowed down to match their speed. This was her last night with her friends, and she was sure to make it count.
Suddenly someting very hard hit her shoulder as a flash of black and silver passed the corner of her eyes. "OW!" she yelled as she was sprawled down onto the floor on her belly. 'What the-' she thought as she sat up, tears filling her eyes as the air that once filled her lungs was gone. "Kagome! Are you ok?!" Rin exclaimed as she kneeled down, the brake on her skate keeping her upright. "Watch where you're going jack ass!" Sango yelled, holding her fist threatingly in the air as they all kneeled down around Kagome. She slowly got to her knees, arms wrapped around herself as she tried to breath.
'I can't....breath...' Kagome thought as she was trying to bring air into her lungs but her body didn't seemed to want to work right. There was a loud sound of brakes skidding on the wooden floor as she saw a pair of legs in front of her. "You ok?" came an unfamiliar voice. Kagome's hands wrapped around her stomach as she looked up, mind going blank when her eyes met with a pair of amber eyes. Suddenly Kagome took a long raspy breath, then took even quicker breaths as if she'd ran a race. She didn't speak as she slowly stood up. "Kagome..." Ayame trailed off as Kagome began to skate forward, leaving her friends and the mystery boy alone. "Hey! I asked you a question." he snapped, grabbing her wrist, making her roll back on her skates. "I just had the wind knocked out of me! Do you think I'm ok?!" she snapped back, suprised at the anger that filled her voice as she ripped her wrist from his grip.
"Well excuse me, I didn't have to see if you were ok." he huffed, crossing his arms his silver hair flinging behing him as he looked away from her. 'Silver...and black...' she thought, her eyes scanning his outfit. He had on a long black T with baggy blue jeans. How he skated in them she had no clue. "And you didn't have to knock me down." she replied rubbing her stomach which still hurt. The boy winced slightly, obviously guilty for knocking her down. "Hey, what's your name anyway?" Sango asked suddenly, her friends skating to Kagome. "I'm-" he began but was cut off when a boy with black hair pulled into a short ponytail at the nape of his neck skated over to him, wrapping his arm around his neck as he began to talk about some girl animatedly. "Oh, did I interrupt?" he asked looking around at Kagome, Sango, Ayame, and Rin. "Acutally, you saved us. Let's go." Kagome said turning and resumed her skating as the song changed to a fast one. The silver haired boy glared at the boy as the girls skated off. "What?" he shrugged innocently, then sighed when his friend skated off the floor.
"What's wrong with you, that guy is hot!" Ayame gushed at her as they skated around, Kagome skating backwards as she looked at her friends then back around the check she wasn't going to hit anything. "No way!" she lied, of course she thought he was cute. But he looked waaaay older than her. "I bet he's like in the 10th grade of something." she added as she crossed her legs in a complicated way as she turned. "So, you're only in the 8th. Two years isn't a big deal." Sango shrugged as Rin nodded in agreement. "I wonder if he has a brother..." Rin pondered, tapping her chin making all the girl burst into laughter. "If so, I bet he's nicer." Kagome said in a joking tone as her head rocked to the beat.
"Oohh, guys let's go dance!" Rin chirped suddenly, motioning to the back of the rink where everyone had their shoes on. There was a big circle of people that usualy was where all the dancing was. "I don't know..." Kagome trailed off, looking around for that boy. She didn't know if she wanted him seeing her dance. "C'mon! You're usually itching to go dance. Why the sudden change?" Ayame asked teasingly. "Cause that guy is here, that's why." Sango smiled widely. "Nu-uh! Hmph, i can dance. So let's dance!" Kagome said, unwilling to loose face cause of some guy. So she and her friends skated off of the floor and sat down, taking off their skates then walking to the back in their socks. The lights were turned off as the strobe lights came on, signaling opposite skate. Too bad they weren't skating now.

Kagome and her friends watch the girls in the center of the circle dance. 'Ugh, nasty.' she thought as one of them was popping her back so hard she thought it was gonna break. Sure she danced like that, but she did it with more class. 'And definetly not in a skirt that short.' she thought as the girls under wear showed. They migrated out of the circle as more people stepped in. Guys this time, who were popping and locking along to the music. One of the guys, who had on a black beanie got down on the floor beginning to do some breaking making the crowd rock along to beat as they cheered.
I got a naughty naughty style and a naughty naughty crew
But everything I do, I do just for you
Im a little bit of Old, and a bigger bit of New
The true niggas know that the peas come thru
We never cease(NOO), we never die no we never discease(NOO)

"Go, go, go, go!" the crowd chanted as he span on his head. Kagome gasped when he stood on his head like a pin then did a suicide onto his stomach. "Oh my god!" Kagome cheered with a wide smile, she was literally itching to dance know. They mysterious breaker had her raring and ready to go. When he stood back on his feet he took his beanie off and Kagome gasped when she saw silver hair fall down his back. 'Damn...he's good.' she thought to herself with a slight smirk. "C'mon, let's show them how we do guys!" Rin giggled, liking the look on Kagome's face. It usually meant they were gonna break the house down.
Hey mama, this that shit that make you groove, mama

Hey mama, this that beat that make you groove, mama
(hey)get on the floor and move your booty mama
(yaw)we the blast mastas blastin' up the jamma
(la la la la la)
Slowly Kagome and her friends moved into the middle of the circle. "Uh-oh guys, The Girls here!" she heard someone yell. No one knew they're name, so this is what they were dubbed. Kagome was unaware where the mysterious breaker was but knew he was watching, he just did get done dancing. Kagome rocked along to beat, closing her eyes as she let the beat take over her. When she opened her eyes she smirked over at her friends who smirked at her as they rocked their hips to beat, spreading themselves apart to have enough room to dance.
Kagome stepped forward, for some odd reason she was always first to go but didn't mind as long as she dance. All thoughts of the jerk breaker flew from her mind as the music filled her. She put her arms up, pumping them as she moved her butt along to the beat. "GO KAGOME! GO KAGOME!" the crowd chanted making her smile even more as she rocked her head from side to side, her bangs landing in her eyes as she span and jumped, landing on her back on the floor her legs bent as the crowed 'ohh'ed. She slowly rose up, her friends placing their hands over her and she bobbed up and down as if her friends were controlling her. Once she stood she danced back to her spot as each of her friends went forward, each amazing the crowd in their own way.
We the big town stumpas, and and big sound pumpas
The beat bump bumpas in your trunk trunkas
The girlies in the club with the big plump plumpas
And when I'm makin' love, my hip hump humps
It never quits(NOOOO) we need to carry 9mm clips(NOOOO)
"You ready guys?" Kagome asked breathily as she danced. "Been ready!" Ayame laughed then they went to new positions letting the crowd now that they had something new to show them. It was acutally the routine from the 'Hey Mama' video. It had taken them a while to learn, and they were ready to let loose. They rocked their hips as they turned in a circle, their hair flying out behind them as they snapped their heads to face the front. "Yeaaah!" the crowd cheered then they all broke apart, dancing their own way.
Hey mama, this that shit that make you groove, mama
(yaw)get on the floor and move your booty mama
(wuh)we the blast mastas blastin' up the jamma
(NAWWWW, NAWWW)
Cutie cutie, make sure you move your booty
Shake that thing like we in the city of sin, and
Hey shorty, I know you wanna party
the way your body look really make me feel nauuughty
Kagome rocked her hips, totally lost in the music as her hands went up in the air. Then on unison as the song ended they all landed in a splits, making the crowd go wild. "That's what I'm talking 'bout!" she heard a guy yell but just laughed as she and her friends all went into a group hug, the music still going as eveyone began to dance, the short but fun dance show over. "Oh, that was awesome!" Sango cheered clapping her hands as everyone laugh.
"I agree. I didn't even know you could move like that Rin, someone's been pracitcing." Kagome said warmly, nuding Rin with her elbow. "I have, a lot acually." Rin replied over the music. The girls began to talk, Kagome's face flushed from dancing as she let out a long breath, her bangs fluttering from the burst of air.
Suddenly she had the feeling of someone watching her and she turned around, blushing slightly when her gaze locked with the guy that knocked her down, the guy who was also an amazing dancer. "Hold on guys." Kagome interruppted their conversation and they all nodded. Kagome turned around and walked towards him, her stomach fluttering slightly when he smiled, revealing pearly whites to her.
When she stood in front of him she pinned him with a slight observing look then smiled herself. "How come you didn't tell me you could dance?" she asked, not noticing the suprise that was in her voice. "You never asked. And how come you didn't tell me YOU could dance, hn?" he chuckled making her blush. "Well...you didn't ask either. And plus you made me mad." Kagome laughed, brushing a peice of hair behind her ear(a nervous habit that she hated). "I'm sorry about that. This chick was chasing me and she kinda scares me." he said, making Kagome laugh.
"Do girls chase you all the time?" she asked arching a brow. "How can they not? Look at me!" he exclaimed, pointing at himself as he smiled. "Whatever." Kagome rolled her eyes. 'I wonder why I'm not nervous...he is kinda cute. GAH! No, I can't do this now. I'm moving tomorrow. Get it together girl!' she yelled at herself in her head. "What grade are you in anyways?" Kagome asked, looking up at him. He was waaaay taller than her. "8th, you?" he replied. "Nu-uh!" Kagome exclaimed, no way he could be in her grade!
The guy rolled his eyes, used to that reaction. A lot of people told him he looked older than what he actually was. "What's your name anyway, you stormed off before I could catch it." he said, slipping his hands into his pockets. "It won't matter, I'm moving tomorrow anyway." Kagome said waving her hand, a slight sadness in her voice now. "Who knows, what if we meet again. I'll need to know your name if we do." he chuckled, making her smile. "Kagome. Kagome Higurashi acutally." she said holding out her hand. "Inuyasha Taishio. Nice meeting you Kagome." he said shaking her hand. 'Too bad you're leaving...you're actually kinda cute. And a good dancer.' he thought as her friends called her, waving their arms at her.
"Well, duty calls. Nice talking to you." Kagome smiled, then on impulse did something she would never have done if it was her last day here. She stood up on her tip toes and gave him a light peck on the cheek. "That's for actually not being the jerk that I thought you were." she smiled with closed eyes then turned and ran back to her friends, ignoring their squeals as they asked her why she kissed him. 'Definetly too bad she's leaving...' he thought as he put a hand to his cheek as his friend clapped him on the shoulder, asking him what was up with the chick.

Chapter 1: New Beginnings...AGAIN!!! Part I
" 1, 2, and 3, and 4. Over, cross, cross." Kagome chanted as she did the moves in the mirror of the dance studio her Uncle owned. She was in hip hop class, and having particular trouble with one part of the dance and it was really frustrating her. "What's wrong Kagome. You're not dancing like your usual self." her Uncle asked from the front of the class, signaling the end of class. Kagome sighed as her Uncle walked over and placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. "I'm sorry Unc. Mom dropped a huge bomb on me last night and I guess it threw me off my game." she said with a sigh, pushing her bangs out of the way as she wiped the perspire from her forehead, the room emptying as the kids slowly trickled out of the room.
"What was it?" he asked as they walked over to the ballet bars. Kagome always stretched at the end of class. She wouldn't want to cramp up or let her muscles tighten up to where she couldn't do the splits. "We're moving. Again!" she growled out as she placed her right leg on the bar then went into a series of ballet stretches. If you couldn't see now, Kagome loved dance. Hell, she loved anything that involved music. She was only 16 years old and knew ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and even a little contemporary. But her favorite dance over all was hip hop. There was just such a feeling of freedom and attitude when she danced it. It was almost as addicting as drugs to her.
"I know it's hard pookey-bear-" "Don't call me that." Kagome interuppted her Uncle, he had loads of nicknames for her. Each more embarrassing than the last. "But look at it this way. You can meet new people, maybe learn a couple of new things about dance to the new city you're going to." he said as he hands her a bottled water. Kagome sighed, knowing that complainging to her Uncle wouldn't help anything. "Can I plllleeeeassseee stay with you. I don't want to leave." Kagome asked as she switched legs. "Kagome, you can't honeslty think you'll be happy staying in my one bedroom apartment in downtown Compton?" he chuckled making her sigh. "It's better than leaving all my friends behind and being the new girl at school again." she snorted as she took her other leg down and began to plies. "Kagome!" came the sound of her mothers voice as the bells at the front. 'Here comes the wicked witch of the west.' Kagome thought with a snort as she stopped her cool down exercised and slipped on her sweats and jacket.
"So, where is it this time? Australia, Milan, Italy, Cancun?" Kagome asked sarcasticly as she picked up her gym bag. Her mom pinned her with the 'look' but Kagome rolled her eyes. She didn't care anymore. All she cared about was dance and that was all she needed. "Actually we're moving to New York. A dancers dream." her mom said the second part sarcsticly. "Now Haruka, you should really see Kagome dance. She's the most advanced dancer I've seen at her age. And I've seen a lot." her Uncle said, beaming at her with pride. "Thants Unckle Ku, at least you believe in me." Kagome sighed, giving him a warm hug. "I do believe in you Kagome. But dancing? It's just not practical." her mom said and Kagome opened her mouth to reply but her mom cut her off. "Now let's go, the moving van is outside and we have to get on the highway pretty quick if we want to beat traffic." her mom said.
"You packed my things?!" Kagome exclaimed. "Of course." her mom replied. "Meaning you went through them." Kagome said with a fake laugh, anger filling her eyes. Her mom said she'd been getting a bad attitude lately and was either on drugs or being influenced by her friends. "Look mom, I'm not on drugs or anything and the attitude, it's 100 percent me. So just get over it already!" she snapped at her mom then stormed out of the studio, tears filling her eyes as she was being ripped away from her friends and her life, all by one cruel woman called 'mom'. 'Hmph! Some mother she is...she's never around. All she does is work!!!' she raged in her head as she opend the door to the Uhaul and threw her bag on the floor, ignoring when her mom walked out of the dance studio and sat in the drivers seat.
Kagome got into the Uhaul, slamming the door with all her strength. She reached into her gym bag and pulled out her iPod, placing the buds inside and turning the volume to the max to block out her mom's voice. She went down the menu of songs and clicked on 'Prive by Akon ft. One Chance'. She loved that song cause she could chill and dance to it. She closed her eyes and laid her head on headseat of the chair. "We have to pick Souta up from piano practice then we'll be on the road." her mom said looking over at her, but of course Kagome didn't hear her. She was in her own little world. A world of music.
'It must be worse for Souta. I'm used to loosing friends and making new ones...he's only a child.' she thought as she leaned her head against the window, watching the scenery go past. She looked in the mirror on the side of the van and saw the black sedan chained to the back. "Hey, can i get in the car? I want to listen to the radio." Kagome asked taking an ear bud out of her ear. "Nonsense, there's a radio in here. You got your iPod." her mom said not taking her eyes off the road. "Whatever..." Kagome mumbled with a sigh, placing her ear bud back in. She liked listening to the 'Baby Daddy Drama' calls and stuff, it was funny to her although her mom thought it was stupid and scadoulous. 'I swear she's like a damn mormon or something. No dating, no boys, and definetly no sex. Is she a nun?' Kagome thought as she cut her eyes at her mom then back out to the window.
"Hi honey, how was pracitice?" her mom asked Souta when they picked him up, Kagome had to scoot over to make more room. "Mooooom....what's up with the Uhaul?" Souta asked in a warried voice. "What's it look like twerp, we're moving. Again." Kagome snorted, narrowing her eyes at her mom. "Mooom, no! I have a recital in 3 days, we can't leave now." Souta said, pleading to not move as they drove down the road. "No use Souta. I all ready tried." Kagome said in a gently voice as she pulled Souta into a hug. "It's not fair!" he pouted, fisting his hand in Kagome's shirt. "I know, I know." Kagome said, not even noticing the sigh that escaped her mom's mouth.
After a while of driving Souta had fallen asleep on Kagome's lap, and was mumbling something about his recital as he snored softly. "Are you happy now? You know Souta loves the piano." Kagome said in a defeated voice, as if she didn't have the strength to talk. "I'm doing this for your own good. You didn't have good friends anyway." her mom said. "They always aren't mom. Everytime I make friends that are dancers you bitch about it!" Kagome said her voice rising slowly, and that were the kind of friends she would always have. Dance was important to her. Dancing was life. "Watch your language." her mom snapped, her mouth going into a thin line.
"No! I'm 16 and I have my own brain and I will use it. So if I want to say the word 'bitch' I'll say it." Kagome snapped, crossing her arms. She'd been stuck under her mom's thumb ever since she was little and when she began dancing she's learned a lot of things. Like how to think for herself. "At least I didn't call you a bitch." she added. 'Which is exactly what you are!' she screamed in her mind as she rubbed Souta's hair. "I swear Kagome, say something else..." her mom trailed off, her grip on the steering wheel tightening. "Something else." Kagome said cooly, delighting in the frown that graced her moms face. "When we get to New York you're grounded." her mom said. "Oh no! I'm grounded what am I gonna do?" she replied in mock saddness. "Oh I know, dance! Which is what I was going to do anyway." she said, crossing her arms. That was one thing that made her smile. Even if her mom took away the phone, or her friends she could never take away dance. What was she going to do, paralyze her so she couldn't move?
"And you're going to private school this time. I don't want you hanging out with any gangsters." her mom said suddenly. "So, they still have dancers at private school mom." Kagome snapped in false cheer, as they flew down the highway hitting a small bump every now and then. 'Damn....why me?' Kagome thought to herself as she watched the setting sun. Who knew how long they would be driving? So Kagome figured she'd follow Souta's example. She reached down and grabbed her big jacket out of her gym bag and placed it over Souta then leaned her head against the headrest as she turned iPod back on, lowering the level to one where she could still listen but still fall asleep. 'I wonder if I'll meet any cute guys in New York?' Kagome thought to herself closing her eyes and letting the music sweep her away.
