Kagome began to regain consciousness in layers. When feeling reaching the level or full alertness she looked at her surroundings. She was in a room, on a bed, with a window. She looked around she was laying on a fair sized platform mahogany bed. The coverings were black silk with silver lining in the middle of the spread there was a blue crescent moon which also graced the pillows, everything whose stuffed with feathers that made her feel as though she was on a cloud. She looked around the room, there was a vanity table which surprised her, `huh I never knew these existed in this era,' she thought. She got up and walked over to the table it was made out of bamboo and was low to the ground with a sitting pillow next to it, she looked up and gawked at her appearance.

 

“This isn't what I looked like when I last show myself as a hanyou” she moves her hands around her face and hair “what…..what….what happened?”

 

To be reasonable her new `new' appearance would shock anyone. Her deep forest green eyes were now lined around the edges with silver and mixed with a royal blue color, she what kind of looked like a flower resting on her forehead and her ears were no long resting on top of her head like Inuyasha's but pointed and where they normally should be on a human like Sesshoumaru's. Her hair was now highlighted with white that was so shiny it looked like platinum or silver. Looking at her hands they were the same, but turning over to look at her wrists she found the same marking of that on her forehead on her wrists as well. All most instantaneously she twirled around to see that she no longer possessed a tail.

 

“Oh my god, what am I” she asked into the room she was surprised when her question was unanswered.

 

“Something that wasn't suspected to happen dear” came a voice.

 

Spinning around Kagome looked at the same woman she saw when she almost died, the one who gave her the choice of becoming a hanyou or a higher being, there she was standing in the room with her.

 

“I'm afraid that we, meaning myself and the other ones, didn't think that the blood that we gave you would be this strong as to change more of your own blood into something like itself. The occurrence has caused me to come and visit you much sooner than I anticipated” said the woman.

 

All Kagome could really do was stand there in shock, the woman stood there smiling until Kagome was able to find her voice again.

 

“Wha…What kind of blood did you put into me?” she was finally able to say.

 

“Ah well it is actually very rare blood, powerful as well, we just didn't think it would effect you as such,” she laughed lightly “just because we are higher beings does not mean we know all.” She said as she saw Kagome open her mouth to question her.

 

“Ok well that still doesn't tell me what I am” Kagome responded.

 

The woman laughed lightly again “You, my child, are a phoenix demon, well 3 /4 anyway”

 

“A phoenix demon, isn't that kinda ironic?” questioned Kagome.

 

“You know as well as I do that not all demons are bad, it's just a prejudice that is used because humans are usually ignorant and used words, and label things that they aren't fully inform on. The higher being use that word meaning an inferior spirit, the Kamis use the word demon to describe us because we are inferior deities to them. Humans took the word demon and made it something different that usually has a negative effect” she smiled.

 

“Uh huh” was all the stunned Kagome could say.

 

The woman smiled, “By the way, my name is Nanashi”

 

“`Without name' that's strange.”

 

Nanashi smiled “do you know the times when you just wish or pray for something but you're not really saying it to a specific Kami or spirit. Well I'm the one all of those wishes and prayers go to. That's way I came to you when you were dying do you remember what you were thinking before you saw me. “

 

Kagome nodded “I was praying that I could live so that I would be able to stay with Inuyasha”

 

Nanashi opened up her arms as though she was presenting herself “Ta da therefore you get me. I answered your prayer.”

 

There was a moment of silence in which Nanashi stood there smiling at Kagome while Kagome was taking in all of this information.

 

“Okay” she said finally “how is it possible that I'm only 3/4 demon?”

 

“Well, the blood wasn't really a specific kind of demon, that's way when you were a hanyou you had a tail, this is because that is what you were thinking about at the time, you were thinking about InuYasha so therefore you took on what a female inu-hanyou looks like, but as the blood stayed in your body fussing with your spirit it began to change your miko blood it also discovered your familiar, which as you can probably guess is a phoenix.”

 

Kagome held up her hands “whoa, wait a second what's a `familiar'?”

 

Nanashi looked slightly surprised, “You must not be very far into your miko training,” Kagome blushed.

 

“A familiar is like your magickal guide to help you along the way in your journeys especially if it involves magick. Anyway to continue on, you are only 3/4 demon, for now at least, because you miko blood is so powerful that it is resisting the changes but because most of your blood is demon your appearance is know of that of a full demon, but any demon could tell you still have human blood in you. You are the first 3/4 in the history of the universe, you are the most unique creature and you are now an interest in the eyes of the Kamis themselves.” Nanashi finished with a flourish.

 

“Oh my…” was all Kagome could really say at this point.

 

“Take a look at your back child” said Nanashi.

 

Although a bit shy Kagome pulled off her school top, thanking kami that she had a bra on, she looked around at the mirror and gasped. She looked up at Nanashi by the mirror, who was smiling brightly, then looked back down. There on her back from the top of her shoulders down to her waist were wings, they were so beautiful and so realistic that they almost looked real, but in fact was an imprint like that of those on her forehead and wrists. Brilliantly colored phoenix wings, so beautiful that Kagome had a hard time taking her eyes off them, eventually she turned back to Nanashi, pulling her top back on, and just gaped while Nanashi smiled.

 

“Unfortunately, I must leave you my dear. But I will be back when you need me, and remember you have the Kamis looking after you as well. Their sign rests on your forehead and wrist.” Nanashi waved and disappeared with a flash of white light.

 

Kagome sat back down on the bed, “Oh my gosh,” subconsciously she felt she couldn't say `oh my kami' anymore.

 

Just then the door to the room opened and a human girl popped her head in.

 

 

“Hello lady” she paused as she got closer to Kagome “heeeyyy wait a minute you don't look like you did when milord Sesshoumaru put you in here, what happened to you? You look even prettier. Where did your ears go? What happen to your forehead? Are you sure you're the same lady that came in here? Did you know you wear funny clothing? Why is there a flower on your forehead? Can I have a flower on my forehead too? Are you gonna stay here from now on? Your hair is long.” She continued her tirade after taking a deep breath, “Are you gonna come play with Rin in the garden before it becomes that cold time again oh what did Sesshoumaru-sama call it, oh yeah winter. Can I braid your hair? Do you know the game hide-and- go- seek? Why do your eyes look like that? Can I put flowers in your hair? Are you gonna play outside with me? Is it true you're gonna be my new ma…” before she could finish the question Sesshoumaru entered the room.

“Rin” he said coldly.

 

“Yes milord” she stood up and bowed to him.

 

“I must talk to Kagome privately, go and play with Jaken `til the dinner is ready.”

 

“Yes milord” she turned back to Kagome, “bye Kagome come play with me after Sesshoumaru-sama is done talking” she gave her a hug and ran out the door.

 

Sesshoumaru looked over at Kagome, who was staring at the door Rin just ran out of, still trying to process everything that Rin had said.

 

“You changed” he stated.

 

Kagome looked at Sesshoumaru and nodded at him.

 

“Yet you still have human blood in you”

 

She nodded again. He smirked.

 

“I don't recall you ever being this quiet.”

 

He looked her up and down drinking in her new appearance when he noticed the mark of the Kamis on her forehead.

 

“Do you know what lays on for brow?”

 

Kagome nodded.

 

“You must be very special”

 

Kagome nodded.

 

“I see this effort to get you to communicate with this Sesshoumaru is pointless, I will send someone up when dinner is served,” he eyed her clothing, “dress appropriately, there are kimonos in the dresser I will see you in the dining hall.” He left the room and started walking to his study.

 

`I almost lost control, I must not let that happen again he has changed yet again and she is even more perfect to be lady of the Western Lands now.” He smiled to himself, `I will win her over and make her my mate and nothing will stand in the way'

 

~*~ Inuyasha and others~*~

 

“Ugh, I feel like I ran into a mountain” Inuyasha groaned.

 

“Welcome back” said Miroku.

 

After hearing Miroku is when Inuyasha realized that his hands were tied behind his back and he was leaning against the willow tree.

 

“Hey what the fuck, Miroku get me off of these. Fucking... what did you do I can't get out. Dammit we don't have time we need to save Kagome.”

 

“If you calm down Inuyasha that's what we will do but we need to think up of a plan first” Sango interjected.

 

“She's right, unlike you, we believe Kagome can take care of herself `til we arrive and the sooner you calm down and help use think the sooner we can get her back.” Miroku said.

 

“Fine! But if even a hair is out of place when we get to her your head is mine got that.”

 

Miroku nodded.

 

“Okay let's think we need to do this” said Sango.

 

While the `adults' talked Shippo sneaked off towards the river, he was crying. “Mommy, mommy come back, please” he whispered.

 

“Hey Shippo!”

 

He turned to see Inuyasha looking at him.

 

“Come back over here, you need to stay by us Kagome will kill us if anything happens to you.” Inuyasha yelled.

 

Shippo nodded and ran back to the group and listened in on what they were saying.
