Inuyasha hadn't noticed it at first but with Sango's little touches here and there he started to get freaked out a little. First he thought it was normal that when a woman's man was hurt she would try and find some company of the opposite sex so she wouldn't go insane... but now she was just starting to scare him.

Everywhere he went there she was watching him or accidentally bumping into him, he knew she was just bored but something about the look in her eyes told him different, so did her smell. Whenever she was around the lecher she always let off an evil womanly aura like a 'don't mess with me' aura, Kagome noticed it too before, but now... now Kagome wasn't here to reassure him and tell him what the fuck was going on.

There she had done it again; Sango had deliberately laid her hand on his trying to move a log in the water. He watched her hesitantly always making sure she kept her distance from him

"Oh my goodness what should I wear to go out with Hojo?" she searched her entire closet for the perfect outfit. She finally chose out a dark blue pair of jean shorts that were slightly longer than usual cause it was supposed to be slightly cool out side. She also chose out a light yellow t-shirt and grey sweater to go over top and some running shoes. There she was ready and Hojo was due any minute.

Suddenly a knock came at her door; Kagome didn't hear it because she was busy in the bathroom trying to do her make-up, then there was also her hair. Kagome's younger brother Souta answered the door. He smiled lightly and showed him inside. "Wow, you have a very nice home, so very neat and organized." Hojo smiled gleefully

"Why thank you that was very kind of you..." Hojo jumped slightly and turned to face Mrs. Higurashi she was in her daily cleaning clothes and her hair looked like it had been rushed in being put up. "I believe you're here for my daughter Kagome I presume...?"

"Why yes I'm Hojo--” Hojo was about to continue when a familiar face met his eyes. She slowly descended down the stairs and was wearing very normal clothes but all together she looked splendid. His smile broadened with every step she took, "Good evening Miss. Higurashi, may I say you look magnificent."

Kagome beamed up at him, she had forgotten how kind and flattering Hojo could really be, and it wasn't just an act he was normally like this which made her heart jump. "Why thank you Hojo-kun, and please just call me Kagome.” He slightly blushed at his formalities and it was cute really.

"Well, shall we go then Kagome...?"

"Yes I think we shall" she smiled as he grabbed her hand and led her out the house.

"Umm... Mrs. Higurashi... I promise I'll have her home before 10:00 p.m. I won’t allow anything to happen to her alright?" Kagome's mother looked very impressed

"Alright I trust you with my daughter and DON'T FORGET..." she was near yelling now because they had started going down the shrine steps "... HAVE FUN!!!!" Kagome just smiled back at her mother as Hojo led her away into the night.

Meanwhile back with Inuyasha and a very annoying Sango...

Inuyasha had just about had enough of Sango's touchy feely attitude, he was about to yell at her when he felt a shift in the air. The air reeked of blood fresh blood and it was coming from Miroku's hut where he lay rested. Inuyasha informed Sango about this but she slightly smiled and said "Inuyasha-chan... don't worry about it, I'm sure Kaede has it under control... you know how good she is with medicines." She slightly elbowed him in the side, not enough to hurt him though.

"Sango are you going to tell me you really don't worry about Miroku?" the hanyou asked gruffly and angrily

"Well... no, because I'm with you and when I'm with you nothing bad will ever happen plus, you don't go around flirting with other women and asking them to bear your children..."

"Well, no duh, who'd want to couple with a hanyou much less a hanyou that is as horrible and mean as me... hmmm???" He wished Kagome was there to cheer him up and say she at least cared for him, but of course she wouldn't say yes to the coupling part, he doubted she even cared for him, then again...

"Well, I care for you and I believe you are not all bad I believe that deep down inside there is a very romantic and loving man who would always look out for me... Inuyasha...?” she slowly batted her eyelashes at him and he stumbled backwards and lost his footing and fell over a log that was there just to torture him. She slowly mounted him and whispered huskily in his fuzzy ear... "I would also couple with you..." Inuyasha nearly fell back at this and Sango was enjoying what she was doing to him.

Inuyasha was losing all consciousness of his surroundings Sango noticed her opportunity to drag him into a hut and have her way with him on the futon but she couldn't do that to Kagome she knew that the miko held very strong emotions over the hanyou. Even when Inuyasha would go to see Kikyou she would always blow up things with her miko powers or sit Inuyasha until all you could see was dirt and an imprint of his body. But Sango couldn't help it she had accidentally stumbled in upon Inuyasha in the hot springs she thought she would be alone on one of their hunting trips but it seemed Inuyasha wanted to go for a dip in the hot springs too.

Inuyasha either didn't notice or didn't care that someone else was coming into the hot springs with him, he was submerged under water and she could see little traces of his hair floating up she'd better wait until he came above the water before she asked to join him then again he liked Kagome she doubted he'd even allow her or even Kagome into the springs with him, he was such a shy guy, even though she knew under that rough exterior there was pent up passion and she couldn't believe what she was thinking right now.

'Oh my... I'm such a horrible friend to Kagome I've already got a future husband and I've already begun to think about other men, I'm just horrible simply and utterly horrible. Inuyasha wouldn't even want to look at me I have so many battle scars he has none, well none that I know about, and he is so secretive about his past even his current situation with Kagome, Kagome I wonder where she is right now, I think I'd better wait before I decide on whether or not I want Inuyasha as my husband or mate as he and other demons put it also I know Kagome still holds feelings for him but I want to know If he honestly likes me or not or if it's just my imagination.' Sango thought with a sigh. Inuyasha was coming to out of his state of shock of what she had said

"Inuyasha, Inuyasha you have to wake up and help me move this log... stupid idiot falling asleep during a job, how pathetic."
Inuyasha slowly opened his eyes he noticed Sango was leaning over him so he tried to back up but he found that he was as far back as he could go he was up against that evil log there to torture him so he slowly began to rise but he got hit over the head with another piece of wood that one of the other villager men were trying to put away. Sango scolded him to be more careful of where he was going. Inuyasha rose again but instead of freaking out about Sango he measly stood up and began cleaning and rebuilding again. Meanwhile...


*^_^*back with Kagome and Hojo*^_^*

They had just gotten off of the Ferris wheel and were heading towards the bumper cars they were way behind in line but they didn't mind they had each other to talk to, but Kagome couldn't stop thinking about Inuyasha. During the ride Hojo was going easy on her and made sure not to bump her too hard, Kagome showed no remorse and dangerously fought back, she knew he was holding back on her even her brother was stronger than that, maybe he was just being nice, more than Inuyasha would be he'd probably send her flying out of the ride along with the car, that stupid carless, heartless, bastard. He was probably busy with Kikyou and enjoying her company while she got stuck here with Hojo 'that's not true Kagome, you agreed to this little date, you didn't have to say yes you could have said no you're seeing someone else, or no not tonight or something but no you got suckered in because you feel bad for the hopeless romantic.' But wasn't that what Kagome was a hopeless romantic waiting forthright guy to come into her life and brighten her day with an ice cream cone or something small.

Hojo won a large pink elephant for Kagome in one of the games, it was a game of aim where you would throw a pin into a balloon and whatever colour the balloon was it would determine what kind of prize you would get, Hojo shot the red balloon and won the elephant, of course, it took him a couple of tries before he, finally got it.

"Here Kagome I won this for you" he handed her the elephant.

"Thank you Hojo-kun, I really appreciate it, you're so sweet

"Awe, it's nothing, as long as you have a good time then I'll have one... what ride do you want to go on next Kagome?"

"Umm how about that one?" she pointed to the Ferris Wheel it was on of those big one's that had two sides of carriages one side was Green and one side was Red, also the sides were brightly decorated with lights she hadn't realized how late it was till she saw the sky, she wasted her whole time thinking about Inuyasha and Kikyou that she didn't even really enjoy her time with Hojo, she had to make it up to him and make the last part of their night the best!

"Alright Kagome it's not a long line so we'll be home before 10:00p.m."

"By the way Hojo-kun, um not to sound bored or anything but, can you tell me the time?"

"It says 9:34 but this watch is broken so I don't think it's the right time, but we can ask someone else for the correct time" and that's what they did they asked some old lady that reminded Kagome of Kaede the way she talked, the correct time was 9:47p.m. So Hojo fixed his watch to the right time.

"Alright Kagome do you want to go in the green or red carriages? They say that the green ones are where most lovers go to tell each other their deepest feelings and stuff, the red ones are meant to separate two lovers, but those are just superstitions, well... which one's do you want to go on?" Hojo asked carefully.

"Umm..." Kagome didn't want to hurt Hojo by going on the one's that break up two lover's but she didn't want to go on the other one meant to be the one where two lovers confess their love for each other. She knew Hojo liked her but she didn't know how much. She didn't want to give him the wrong idea or hurt him if he confessed. Why'd he have to tell her what each one meant...?

Hojo noticed Kagome was fidgeting, and started getting worried.

"Um, Kagome don't listen to what I said about the lover's thing it just something I was thinking of to tell you. Don't worry, my friend Ryoku and I went on the Green on together and we didn't confess our 'love' to each other it's just something that is meant to help two lover's make the final leap."

"I know Hojo-kun it's just..."

"C'mon Kagome let's go on the red ones."

Kagome just smiled and said "Alright"

After the ride Kagome was so tired and it was almost 10 Hojo decided it was time to go home. Kagome and Hojo were walking towards her house when she felt a warm hand holding her hand. Kagome looks down to see Hojo's hand linked with hers, Kagome decided to let it go and let him hold her hand after all it did feel a bit nice. They were quickly approaching her front door. Just as Kagome goes to go inside Hojo turns her around and kisses her/ Kagome doesn't know what to do... her first kiss is from Hojo. Kagome just stands there enjoying the moment.

There was fire everywhere he couldn't escape it... it followed him everywhere he went, and every where he stepped the ground caught on fire. The last thing he remembered was some of the village children playing around in the fields with Shippo. Then all of a sudden there was fire everywhere and people were screaming and yelling. Then he saw it, a very small fire demon it was running around like a confused bug. Everywhere the little elemental demon touched it caught something else on fire. Miroku was trapped in the fire demons dance it was so hot and Miroku tried to see where he was when all of a sudden a large log from one of the huts fell on him knocking him unconscious. The last thing he remembered seeing was the little demons evil smile.

Miroku awoke with a sudden start, was that a dream no it was real for he felt the pain coming to him very fast. Miroku in took his whereabouts he was situated inside Kaede's hut along with her herbs and anti-cepts to help heal wounds. Kagome's kit she had got Kaede as a gift was also there. He realized he wasn't alone when a voice above him started to hum a song from his childhood that he recognized, the melody was clear and precise, one of the village woman was here sitting beside him but he didn't know why. "Excuse me miss but why are you in here, and where is Lady Kaede.?" She seemed startled that he was awake and acted as if she was caught doing some other worldly thing.

"Umm..." she fidgeted with her sleeves "Lady Kaede asked me to keep watch for you to make sure that you didn't go into a state of danger like you stop breathing or something. She just went out to fetch some more herbs for you're wounds but don't worry." She gave him a friendly smile but he ignored it something seemed off about this girl, she seemed different for some reason. He could hear Shippou and some other children outside playing and singing he wished he could see them but the pain in his chest and back were too severe.

It was amazing how human children could so easily get along with a demon child. He never thought it possible, all his life he had been taught to stay away from demons and Halflings but now... now he was travelling with a very powerful half-demon and two smaller demons. Including a demon slayer which he wasn't supposed to believe in for his religion focused on sending spirits away to the other worlds peacefully, not killing them by using savage methods. Then there was the Miko Kagome, she was a totally different subject. She was from another world meaning she must hold some very spiritual powers inside of her if she just learned to harness them properly she would make a fine miko, not to mention she was also beautiful.

Sango came rushing into the hut. "Miroku you're awake it's good to have you back again." She said, although her smile seemed to be fake. Inuyasha popped his head in the door and was surprised at what he saw. Miroku wasn't trying to grope the woman beside him and he was doing better already. Kaede said it could possibly take weeks. It seemed that Miroku has an abnormal recovery power.

"Hey Miroku you letch finally you're awake, we've been wondering when you'd show your evil perverse smile again." He said with a smirk which meant he was only joking but was probably being half serious, for Miroku let out an evil smile enough to make all the women afraid he'd rape them in their sleep.

"Hello Inuyasha where is Lady Kagome right now hmm..?" Inuyasha was surprised by the sudden question. In all truth he had forgotten about his promise in finding Kikyou and discussing their future and Kagome's as well with her. He was so busy helping repair the village that he completely forgot that today was a special day for him. It was his birthday, he almost fell over how could he forget his birthday? He usually couldn't care less about something so miniscule for in the past, nobody was around to celebrate it with him. He just eventually forgot all about it. Finally one day Myoga came to him congratulating him for that year he was turning into a teenager.

Inuyasha slowly did some calculations in his head and if he compared his age to human years than this year would be his 18th birthday. Wow, he was coming of age this year to properly take a mate, but there was the small problem of finding one. He couldn't mate with a corpse and Kagome... Kagome was another story, no Kagome would never even think of that. He couldn't even think of defiling her. Inuyasha remembered that Kagome was probably still mad at him and decided he should go and see her and apologize and tell her exactly what was going on here with Miroku and maybe get some help about Sango, she was just really freaked out. "Umm, hey guys I'm going to go back and talk with Kagome I'll see you guys later" With that Inuyasha took off.

Sango decided that if Inuyasha wasn't here she wouldn't be safe alone with the lecher so she excused herself. "Umm, Miroku I have some other jobs to do and I have to continue helping out with the repairs, I'll see you later."

"Farewell Lady Sango" Miroku was feeling parched and turned around to ask the young lady if she could get him some water but when he looked around she was nowhere to be seen. "Hmm, I wonder where she went" little did anyone know that Matsukita was already moving and preparing her plans.

Inuyasha leaped out of the well and was met with the smell of Kagome, she smelled uncomfortable and then he smelt it, the smell of that human Hojo, he was so infuriated that the human known as Hojo would force himself on Kagome creating this high amount of discomfort within Kagome. Inuyasha leaped over to Kagome, when he got there he couldn't believe his eyes. There was Kagome tongue tied with the Hojo kid, Inuyasha growled so loud that even people in Canada (Woot!) could hear him. Kagome let out a small shriek as she saw Hojo be thrown half way across her property. Kagome freaked and ran over to Hojo while screaming the incantation. She comforted Hojo and propped his head on her legs and took in the damage he wasn't severely injured but she knew Hojo would never go near her and would probably report this to the police.

Inuyasha finally came up from the Sit position and joined Kagome he grabbed her wrist and started pulling her up. Kagome couldn't be madder at the hanyou at that moment. He just threw her friend across her property and now he expects her to just forget it and come with him. Whether or not she was kissing Hojo it gave no reason for Inuyasha to fling him away, after all he was always saying she smelled bad and she was ugly, he probably didn't have any feelings for her at all. Kagome fumed at him "Inuyasha what do you think you were doing? You don't just go barging in on people that are kissing, and on top of all that you hurt Hojo; I thought you were going to go see Kikyou."

Inuyasha ignored her last comment and responded angrily "Why were you kissing him in the first place. You know you can't do that!"

Now Kagome was suspicious why Inuyasha was acting all dominant like she was his girlfriend. "Inuyasha I'm not your girlfriend so you can't just expect me to not kiss another boy other than you, besides you don't feel that way about me." Inuyasha looked at her; did she believe that he really did all this just because she was his jewel detector? Couldn't she at least see that he cared for her?

"I only came because I sensed your unease I thought you were in trouble"

Kagome just glared at him, like she was going to believe him, "Inuyasha I was kissing Hojo, I don't think I was uncomfortable, I like Hojo." suddenly Kagome felt drops of rain on her head.

"More than me?"

Kagome was confused at this question. What happened to the arrogant boy that was too afraid to show his emotions to anyone? Since when did he grow up? Kagome was suddenly feeling pressured. Inuyasha sensed her distress, "Kagome... I understand that you'd prefer that boy over me but, I'd prefer it if you didn't kiss that boy."

Kagome blinked back the rain in her eyes; did Inuyasha just find a round about way of saying that he liked her? Kagome was so stunned; she suddenly felt something moving on her lap. She suddenly remembered that Hojo was there and she had to think up an excuse quickly. "Inuyasha unless you want me to sit you to the ends of the earth you'd better get a move on Hojo is waking up if your so concerned then you can go watch somewhere, but hide yourself. I've got to tell Hojo a lie about what happened to him other wise it could mean trouble". Inuyasha understood and took off into the God tree.

"Kagome what's going on, Ow! My head hurts so much, what happened? The last thing I remember is coming up the stairs."

"It started raining and you tripped over your shoe laces. You took quite a fall, are you okay?"

"Yes I feel alright."

"That's good if you want I can get my mom to drive you home?"

"No don't trouble yourself Higurashi." Hojo walked Kagome to her front door and gave her a quick kiss before leaving; Kagome swore she could hear Inuyasha fuming. When Kagome entered her house her mother was standing there in the front. Kagome told her mother all about her time there and showed her the stuffy that Hojo won for her. Kagome was starting to feel tired so she decided to retire to bed for the night. Just as she was about to lie down, she felt a clawed hand on her back and she turned to look and was met with the most startling, yet familiar Amber eyes she'd ever seen, Inuyasha looked her over and smiled gently.

"Kagome... do you know what tonight is???"

Kagome thought hard "No Inuyasha I have no clue what tonight is..."

"It's my 18th birthday tonight."

"Oh my gosh are you serious Inuyasha? That's wonderful we have to celebrate!"

"No, I just want you to grant one simple birthday wish from me..." Kagome gazed into his eyes and nodded. "Kagome I want to kiss you" Kagome's eyes widened. He wanted a kiss from her. A kiss, but this wouldn't be her first kiss other Kikyo had Inuyasha ever kissed another woman in his life. Kagome slowly nodded her head; Inuyasha couldn't believe it she was agreeing to allow him to kiss her even though he was a hanyou... "Thank you Kagome" Inuyasha smiled gently before leaning in to kiss her.

Kagome could feel his hot breath on her lips she was feeling so light headed she had to get some air. She took a breath of air before leaning in as well, when their lips met it felt like someone had taken a match and lit the Keg, they were both on fire, they couldn’t stand the pent up passion that was raging inside of them both, they felt like they were going to explode. All this time waiting for each to ask, for each to confess, for one of them to make the first move. Kagome was having trouble breathing and Inuyasha's head was swimming with thousands of thoughts, all related to Kagome.

Her beautiful pure aura was overwhelming and her little moans she was making was too much to bare, Inuyasha nibbled on Kagome's lips and she gladly parted her lips, as soon as the barrier through her lips was broken Inuyasha explored her whole mouth from tongue to teeth. They finally broke for air; they were breathing deeply and couldn't believe they got so much out of just a kiss. They smiled at each other and blushed; Inuyasha thought Kagome looked so adorable, her lips swollen from the attention and the pink blush that painted her face.

Kagome cleared her throat and smiled "Umm, I have to go to bed now, If you'll excuse me" Kagome turned to go to bed when she felt a hand on her waist she turned to look at her hanyou friend and he asked
"Would you mind if I slept with you tonight?" Kagome looked at him and blushed and slapped him, but not hard enough to hurt, he’s a hanyou remember.

"PERVERT!! You think just because I kissed you gives you the right to sleep with me now!?"
Inuyasha realized his mistake and corrected himself "No I meant can I 'sleep' with you literally like fully clothed I mean just side by side, I just want to be close to you tonight" Kagome understood and moved for him to join her, he laid beside her and embraced her and gave gentle kisses along her neck and slowly drifted off to sleep.
