A/N:
Hiya all, I know it has been a long time since I updated and I am truly very sorry for the long wait. My life has been pretty hectic this year and I hope you all can forgive me for the long wait. I would really appreciate some ideas and/or suggestions for any one of my stories, all of my stories etc.
I will work on my other stories right after I finish this chapter but I will not update them until they reach their 5 review per chapter quota. I am sorry and all but I don't think that is asking too much. Thank you for reading this stupid little author's note. On with the show!
Disclaimer: Nope, I do not own a damn thing. *Sigh*

Chapter Seven: Evil… or… no?
Recap:
"Aria.... my dear friend.... I am here to take back what is mine or.... we can make a trade?"
"A trade for what, Naraku?" Sango asked.
"Ahh, the demon slayer. It would be you to ask wouldn't it. I do suppose you want your brother back. I want the shards you have for Kohaku!"
"NOOOOO! You can't have them." Miroku spoke out of turn.
"I am the one to answer that question, Monk." Kagome said haughtily.
Their eyes opened wide, they couldn't believe their ears, she had contradicted him! Was she going to give the shards to Naraku? What would happen then?
"Kagome, think on this and do not give them to him. He is evil, has been for well over 50 years." (By the way... him and Aria were together 10 years before Kikyou... so it would actually be 60 years, ne?)
"Oh I will Aria... I will... and I know what I will do...”
"What is your choice, Kagome?" purred Naraku.
"Oh, that one is simple....
Now:
“Oh, that one is simple… I will give him the shards BUT only if I am the one allowed to touch them.” She said with a half sneer, half smirk.
“My dear Kagome, I knew you would see things my way. I agree to your terms on one condition. The Jewel is to stay within my sight at all times. Meaning, you either have to come with me and stay or I stay here with all of you.” He said the laugh part with a mocking laugh.
“How could you do that to us Kagome? We trusted you, we loved you and all you do is betray us? Why Kagome, Why did you do that?” Sango wailed at her “sister”.
“Because sister dear. I want to know what it is like being free. Free of the burdens of being so sweet, nice and pure. I need to know what it is like because I am tired of being so goodie-goodie. That is why!” Kagome explained somewhat patiently.
They all couldn't believe their ears. Aria knew what was going on. This was the evil side of her transformation; she just wished that she wouldn't do this because she knew that Kagome would later regret her decision.
Sango threw herself at Miroku and cried into his manly chest (Oh my god! How corny was that?). Miroku knew what she was going through; he could hardly believe it himself. He held her tightly, stroking her back and murmuring comforting words in her ear.
“I am not to leave her side, you know that as well as I but if she chooses to go with you I must go also.” Aria stated.
“If you must go then I suppose we will have to go then because I wish to go. I want to know what it is like and I won't be able to do that here in the village.”
Naraku couldn't believe his luck. He would be able to get two birds with one stone. He might be out to get Kagome to stay with him but he didn't see any harm in window shopping. (A/N: I couldn't help myself lmao.)
`I know there is something special about Kagome but I have to admit Aria is a beautiful woman… angel. There is no harm is looking at what is beautiful. Today is a great day. I have a completed Shikon no Tama and two beautiful creatures at my palace.' Naraku thought with a smile creeping onto his face.
“Come, it is time for us to depart.” Naraku stated calmly.
Kagome walked up to Naraku slowly, taking his outstretched hand. His other hand he offered to Aria but she on the other hand just pointed her eyes skyward and unfolded her elegant wings. Naraku shrugged and slowly elevated himself and Kagome. He had to make sure Aria wouldn't be able to get lost.
Aria gave her wings a nice long stretch and with a good kick from her legs she was air bound. Keeping her eye on Naraku, she kept up with them with no problems. Naraku looked behind him to see if Aria was still keeping up with him. Wanting to test her to see how fast she really was he sped up. She had no problem keeping up with him but when he sped up she noticed the look in his eyes.
`So he wants to race, does he?' Aria thought and sped up to match his speed.
Speeding up some more he zoomed faster. Eyeing Naraku with amusement she gave her wings a powerful thrust and caught up with him in the blink of an eye. Naraku gave a soft chuckle and kept his pace. A short time later they landed in the courtyard of what appeared to be a dark palace.
The courtyard itself wasn't so dank and was the rest of the palace. The whole thing just screamed “evil”. Naraku still held a peacefully sleeping Kagome in his arms as Aria appeared by his side.
“I will show you to your rooms for the night and we will make better arrangements tomorrow.”
“Thank you.”
Naraku walked through two great double doors. They were greeted by Kagura none-the-less. He dismissed her as soon as she had appeared. Continuing down a corridor, they moved right and then left. They then continued down another corridor, going left, right, right, left, left and went down another hallway. If it had been a normal person she would have gotten lost but not her, she had an excellent memory.
Naraku was still carrying Kagome in his embrace when they reached an odd looking door. Out of all the dark and dreary doors along the hallways of this castle, this door was pure white. It had intricate designs on the top, sides and bottom. Looking closer one could tell that those designs were actually long thick vines with thorns attached to them at intervals. The door was very beautiful, but it was also enchanted, a spell to keep the person/hanyou/demon inside from harming the owner of the castle.
Aria eyed the door and raised an eyebrow at Naraku's antics. She was curious as to why he thought Kagome would hurt him and she also wondered if he knew that she would be coming back with him today. It was very interesting to see such a room prepared perfectly. Naraku looked at Aria and shrugged, acting as if he didn't know what was on her mind.
“You know… you are not as innocent as you look my dear. Oh well, we can cure that if you wish.” Naraku stated as he laid the still sleeping Kagome on the silk clad bed.
“I do not know what you mean Naraku but I would love it if you would stop trying to flirt with me. It does not become you.” She stated flatly.
“Why Aria… I wouldn't even dream of flirting with you.”
“You forget Naraku; I have known you along time.”
“No, you knew the old me. You knew the carefree Naraku, the Naraku that was actually capable of love but not any longer Aria. Never again will I ever get blinded by love.”
“I am sorry you see our past as a bad memory Naraku. I know what we had for each other was wrong, but I must ask you. Do you regret having loved me? Was it so bad that it has put bitterness in your heart, to where you can't see what is plainly in front of your very nose?”
“What do you mean about that? I will not discuss such matters hear in a bedchamber. Come; let us go to the gardens if you must interrogate me.”
Aria looked at him like he had lost his mind, he was being courteous and polite… just like he used to. Then she felt it, her charge was awake but pretending to be asleep. Then it all made perfect sense to her, he didn't want to discuss their past together while Kagome would be able to hear all the gory details. Kagome moaned and then slipped back into unconsciousness. They walked silently beside each other until they reached the garden.
He knew she would head for the water, he just knew it. There was a large shady tree that overlooked the gardens. She sat beneath the tree, running a slim hand through the water. He couldn't help but remember them as they were all those years ago, deep yearning, regret and sorrow filled him.
`I should have been over these feelings decades ago, but it reminds me of what I had and what I have now. Love… the most fearful word… but it gives the sensation that one can never be harmed. It made you feel like nothing would rain on your bright and sunny day. I suppose it has taught me a lot.'
“No I do not regret it but it has taught me love is not worth the heartache. The hatred happened as I realized that I truly could not remember anything. I actually had dreams about you, not knowing who you were or why I dreamed of you. The bitterness came when I realized that I would never feel the love that the shapeless figure in my dreams had with you. It was just recently that I realized that it wasn't a dream and that it had actually happened. That makes me blind as to not being able to see what is right under my nose. I still do not understand what you mean, Aria.” Naraku explained as he sat down a ways from her.
“Naraku, you must understand that it couldn't be helped.”
“Oh, but you know it could have been helped if InuTaisho hadn't went into a rage and tried to kill everything in his path.” You could hear the bitterness dripping off of each word.
“No Naraku that was meant to happen. Just as everything that will be happening very soon is meant to be.”
“What is that supposed to mean? Tell me now!”
“NO! That would mess everything up. It has already begun and things are to stay as they are. End of story Naraku and you know with me… no means no.”
“I still don't have to like it, but what does it have to do with me?”
“Naraku you have to trust me on this. Please, put your trust in me once more. I promise you that you will not regret it.”
“Enough of this nonsense, you are starting to get on my patience! Do you hear me?! I do not trust anybody and as for what will happen… I don't understand you but I have a feeling it has to do with that girl in my castle.”
“That girl has a name as you well know. Yes she does have something to do with it… as do we all. I can not tell you any more then I already have. I will tell you one thing; you are blind to your true emotions.”
“What do you mean by that wench?”
“Now Naraku that is not very nice of you to say to a messenger of Kami.”
Naraku growled and started to lunge for Aria but when he got to where she was, she was gone. He looked this way and that and couldn't find her; he got this feeling that someone was watching him and looked up. There she was, in the air, laughing down at him. He growled yet again but before he could take off after her a voice interrupted them.
“Am I intruding?”
“Kagome-Chan, I am glad you are awake and well. How are you feeling now that the change has had time to settle?”
“I am fine, Aria. Just what is going on here?”
“There is no need for you to be jealous Kagome-Chan. Naraku and I was just having a discussion.”
“Yes, I know. I heard some of it and I am confused about some. I would like to know what part I play in this whole scheme.”
“I am sorry Kagome-Chan but I am not allowed. The Fates would be terribly mad at me for betraying their trust. Please understand Kagome that I am first and foremost an angel. I have duties to The Fates and Kami.”
Kagome looked down; she knew that Aria had responsibilities. She didn't know what had come over her. She supposed she could blame it on her transformation but she wouldn't blame that. She knew that she was starting to feel a bit more on the “bad” side.
“Kagome-Chan I know you feel bad but please don't. You are supposed to go through this change. Just go with the flow and try not to do anything too bad.”
`If you only knew how bad I wish I could be. Looking at Naraku… heh… Just makes me want to…'
“Uh, I think I will go back to the room now.” Kagome said with a hint of pink coming to her cheeks.
She turned and left through the archway that they had some through. Naraku had a gleam in his eyes as he followed the scent of Kagome's arousal.
“Kagura will be here shortly to give you some company. I need to have a discussion with Kagome.”
`A nice, long, hot discussion that should end up with both of us spent and sated.' Naraku thought and noticed that she would have to try very hard to get him as hard as a rock and then some.
Aria sighed as she watched the retreating back of her ex-love and waited for Kagura to arrive. She did arrive shortly after with a look of pure astonishment.
“Did you know that Naraku is in Kagome's room and he…”
“Say no more, yes I know and I must say… This will be a very long evening.”
Kagura chuckled as they walked back into the castle to get some food in their stomachs and see if they might be able to get along.
