The sun rose over the city's buildings, peaking through the dissipating clouds. The air was even more chilly than it had been the evening before. Sesshou was the first to wake. He was still cuddling Rin only she was facing him now. Sesshou yawned and pondered the strange dream while brushing a lock of hair away from Rin's face with his fingers. At his touch, Rin's eyelids opened slowly. Rin smiled sleepily, and when her vision cleared she saw Sesshou's face looking down upon hers.

"Good morning," Sesshou cooed while he stroked the back of his hand against Rin's cheek. "Sleep well?"

Rin nodded slowly and yawned.

"Yeah," she hummed. "I had the prettiest dream. I was with a handsome prince who looked a lot like you. We were-"

"Dancing in the clouds?" Sesshou finished her sentence with his mouth hanging open slightly at the resemblance of her dream with his. Rin raised an eyebrow and propped herself up on her elbow.

"Yeah," Rin said. "I was wearing a pretty flowery kimono and he had elegant white and red robes with strange armor. But how did you know?"

Sesshou touched the tips of his fingers on Rin's hand and looked down at it. He ran the facts through his mind until he was positive that he and Rin had had the same dream.

"I dreamed about the same thing," he told her. "Only I was the prince."

Rin bowed her head and thought about the new development for a moment. She thought about the bus, her old dreams, and the recent one that was apparently shared with Sesshou. After the brief recollection, Rin's face brightened. Sesshou looked at her inquisitively as she drew in a long, loud breath with a smile growing on her face. Without any warning, Rin swung her arms around his neck and hugged him tightly. Sesshou was taken back for a brief moment then, though unsure of the occasion, wrapped his own arms around her.

"Uh…any reason for this sudden display of affection?" he smirked. "Not that I'm complaining."

"You are him! You really are!" Rin shouted with her mouth painfully close to his ear drum. Sesshou cringed at the loud noise that boomed right next to him. When the ringing in his ear stopped, he spoke in a perplexed and sarcastic tone.

"Sure. Now, who am I again? Because for the longest time I thought I was me, but your outburst has pressed some doubt into me."

Rin giggled perkily at his response and tugged him slightly.

"My prince. The prince I always dreamed about," Rin responded. "For a while I thought I really did just dream him up, then I saw you for the first time and for a moment I suspected you were him, but I wasn't sure. Now I am! This is so wonderful!"

Rin's response only added to Sesshou's confusion. He pulled her away from him but kept his grasp on her shoulders. He examined her face carefully for any sign of sleep-walking or possible insanity.

"Wait, wait," Sesshou bit his lip, running what she said through his mind over and over again trying to make sense of it before giving up. "What?"

Rin sighed patiently and cocked her head to one side, the smile still plastered on her lips.

"Sesshou, when they found me in the streets I had rambled about a tall silver haired, golden eyed prince who took care of me. Over time the doctors had convinced me that he was only a hallucination, but I still dreamed about him coming to me someday and rescuing me. Yet I was only imagining and didn't consciously believe he truly existed. Then I met you! At first I believed you were him, then I figured you just sorta looked like him and weren't in truth the prince. I remember what happened in the bus, but still I had been practically unconscious so I brushed it off as some sort of illusion. Now you've had a joint dream with me and you were the prince! You must be him!"

Rin lunged for him again, but Sesshou dropped back out of her clutches. He propped himself on his elbow and held up one hand to stop her. Rin halted with a confused and faintly miffed. Sesshou blinked a couple times trying to straighten out the situation. Could he have been wrong about this girl? Was Rin really just some teenage nutcase? No, impossible. He could kick himself for even considering it. Still, the fact remained that Rin's explanation had some sense to it. Slowly, but surely, his thoughts began to sort themselves out.

"I think I understand now," a smile spread across Sesshou's mouth and he pushed himself up to embrace Rin. "I'm your prince, Rin. And you're my princess."

Rin's anxiety about Sesshou's defensive reaction subsided and she sighed herself into his arms. He kissed the top of her head, then her forehead, down to her nose, to her cheek, and finally his placed a kiss upon his lips. Teeming with devotion, Rin pecked his cheek softly, but then tugged him intensely with her arms and jerked him down. Her lips immediately hit their mark on his for a hard passionate kiss. Sesshou's eyes stretched momentarily as the kiss took him entirely off guard. He was rigid with surprise a moment longer before settling into the kiss.

It was minutes before they separated, each of them bemused by the potent display of love. Panting for breath, they took some deep inhales and fell into each other's clasp. They were breathless, but the emptiness of their lungs served as a comfort instead of a twinge. Sesshou rested his forehead against Rin's and cast a slanted gaze into her eyes. Rin smiled back and noted silently with satisfaction that Sesshou's eyes were gold like the sunrise occurring outside of the room, and that the rays of morning light gleaming through the window pane made the new gloss of silver in Sesshou's hair flicker and sparkle with brilliant luster.
