Chapter 9: The Host
She opened her eyes. “Oh, good morning Kagome.”
Looking into the direction of the voice, it only took a moment for her to realize that Sango was the one who spoke. She was sitting on a chair near the exit of the tent.
“Inuyasha, Miroku and half the army went to fight in a nearby battle. He told me to stay here and watch you till you woke up. He said to tell you not to worry.”
Kagome blinked at the new information. It took her a moment for her brain to realize what Sango had said. She was about to speak when the other woman rose from her seat, headed toward the weapon on the floor.
“Sango?”
“I'm going to go fight, stay here.”
An instant rustling sound followed and Kagome was off of the bed before Sango could blink. “I'm going too!” She demanded.
“Please Kagome, stay here. It's for your own safety.”
“ I can't just sit here helpless! I want to fight!! I don't want to stay here worrying while you guys put your lives on the line, I want to be useful!”
Sango shook her head. “ If you come you will just be in the way. We would have to protect you and fight at the same time. And I know that we would be devastated if something were to happen to you.”
The smaller girl gave a hurt glare to her. Before Sango could exit the hut, she gave her an apologetic look and left.

His neck throbbed in burning pain as the demon's claws sink into his flesh, cutting off his oxygen as the blood tickled its way down his neck. He hissed in pain before gathering his strength. In a moment the clawed hand pierced the demon's neck, coming out on the other side. The creature fell to the ground as he descended to his feet, breathing for air and looking into his most recent kill.
He ran forward through the crowds of slashing swords, slicing claws and said sorcery, looking for his next target like a bloodhound.
“Hiraikotsu!” The feminine voice was followed by wind scraping as the weapon sliced through what it could before returning to its owner. He paid no attention to her as she began fighting men and demon alike.
An ally fell before him. The demon guilty for the death hurled his claws at his new target. Inuyasha jumped to the side, kicking up sand when he landed on all fours, claws flexing in the ground. The human-like demon lunged at him. Inuyasha flipped so that he lay on his back and kicked the creature into the air. Once the demon was floating in the atmosphere, he took the chance to disembody the head from its form. The body fell into the sand as the head rolled, making its tracks in the earth.
Blood oozed between his claws. He stood there for a moment in the midst of all the chaos, breathing heavily before returning to his slaughter. Enemies, enemies, enemies. Where were they all coming from? Loosing Checkpoint had been a powerful blow to their defense; there was no way he would lose another battle!
Red blades cut through another row of enemies that were charging for him in the burning sun. Their bodies fell to the sand in pieces. His ear flicked to the yell from behind him. A demon solder was charging with the sword over his head, prepared to strike. Inuyasha kicked at the earth beneath him, causing the adversary to stumble backward in pain from the sand in his eyes for a moment before Inuyasha jerked the sword from him and cut him in two from the middle.
This was getting nowhere. No matter how many foes he had defeated, there was no way he could keep this up for long and the opponents never seemed to end. He kneeled, burying his hands into the sand. He became calm, forgetting the war he was in. The earth pulsed beneath him. He heard the screeching of his enemies in pain. They were burning in the red flame of his spell. He rose from his position, watching as more bodies fell into the sand. The eyes of the opposing fell into the blackness of fear before a “retreat” echoed through the hot air.
Inuyasha sat there in the sand, breathing harshly from the use of power. That was quite the morning exercise. He had awoken feeling comfortable and smirked when he remembered what had occurred with the woman in his arms the night before. His peaceful moment with her had been shattered when he heard the call for a battle. A solder had stumbled in muttering about a fight and not noticing the compromising position the hanyou was in.
“Inuyasha?”
Inuyasha looked up at Miroku and his warriors, whom were looking at him with worried expressions. He slowly rose, stumbling slightly, before standing upright. “This battle…was a victory.” His men smiled. Miroku came to assist him; putting Inuyasha's arm around his shoulder so he could relieve some of his weight. “You really give it your all my friend.” He said.
“If I didn't, Miroku, then we would be dead now.”

Kagome sat there waiting and hoping for her friends' return. Sango came into the tent, her face beheld a weak smile. “We won.” She said.
“I'm glad.” Kagome answered.
“Know why?”
“Why?”
“Because we wanted to return to you.”
Inuyasha and Miroku came into the tent. Inuyasha said nothing for a moment, only stared back at the wide-eyed look Kagome was giving him. His white clothes were completely stained red now. He felt so fatigued.
He stumbled to sit down on a chair, his friends rushing to his side. “Can we wait a day? I'm tired.” He asked. Sango, Miroku and Kagome nodded.

Kagome re-entered the tent with a bucket of water and a towel. Inuyasha had changed from his bloody red cloths to the familiar white robes. He lay on the bed, eyes closed in exhausted sleep. She looked at his face. Dried crimson stained his cheeks and neck.
Pulling a chair to sit next to his bed, she wet the towel and commenced to wash the blood from his face and neck. Once done, she leaned back to look at his face. It was sunset now. Inuyasha had slept through the whole morning and afternoon. She wondered how vigorous that battle must have been for him to be so weary. She leaned in to study his face. Instantly an eye opened and flashed red, causing her to jump back before the eye returned to its golden color.
“Oh it's just you.” Inuyasha rose to lean on his elbows.
“How are you feeling?” She stuttered, still a little jumpy.
“Better.”
He went back to resting against the mattress, though he never tore his gaze from her. “Tomorrow, I'll head back home. I meant to go today but the large battle set us back.”
Night had gone by swiftly. Kagome had realized that it was becoming a routine that she was spending her nights with Inuyasha. He didn't let her leave. He had given her a sulking expression that made him look like a puppy and she couldn't help but stay. So she sat on a chair watching him sleep before she fell into a peaceful doze.
The sun had reached over the sand hills. Already the heat was coming with the daystar. When the warmth of day came to touch her checks, Kagome had opened her eyes.
“What's wrong?” She turned her attention to Inuyasha, who was standing in the middle of the tent, fully awake and looking concerned.
“Nothing, Inuyasha, I just had a bad dream and there's this crick in my neck.”
“It's from sleeping on the chair all night. See, if you had agreed to rest with me, you wouldn't have had this problem.”
“Oh shut up! I'm not your personal pillow, Inuyasha. Before all this started, I had yet to do on a date, let alone stay with a man all night.”
He smirked to himself, so he was the first man she had lain with too. He felt a little guilty, taking away all her “firsts.” He took her fist kiss, her first hug and the first time she had lain with a man. Taking her first kiss was an accident and he apologized the only way he knew how, though he wouldn't deny that he didn't enjoy it. It was by far from the gentle, first-time kiss. He had given her a sensual and passion glazed lip lock and she seemed to enjoy it.
“What are you smirking at, Inuyasha?” She sounded annoyed.
“Just remembering my apology to you.”
“What apology?”
He raised his eyebrows at her. “Don't you remember?”
“I don't know what you're talking about!”
“For taking your first kiss.”
Her face became a cherry. “Oh, that.” Her blush deepened once she acknowledged it. He chuckled, earning a glare from her red face.
She closed her eyes in an attempt to get away from the moment. Even though she tried to stop the flow of images, she couldn't stop her mind from floating back to that moment two nights ago. He was so warm and it felt so…She shook her head. It was just a kiss, why did it bother her so much?
A tug on the back of her neck had her open her eyes to see and feel Inuyasha's index and middle finger caressing her neck. “What are you doing!?”
“Just trying to get that crick out of your neck. Oh, damb it, Kagome! HOLD STILL!” He added when she leaned forward.
He was standing in back of her chair, working his finders in circles on of her neck. She yelped when his finders pressed into the sore spot on the joint where her neck and shoulder met.
“Sorry. Better now?”
“Yeah,” she said rubbing her neck slightly, “Thank you.”
He nodded before calling in a solder and telling him to go fetch Miroku and Sango. Shortly after the warrior with her weapon and her husband arrived in his tent. Sango bid Kagome a good morning before slapping Miroku. “Not in public, you hentai!” Kagome giggled while Inuyasha snorted.
“So,” Miroku started, ignoring the red, hand, print on his face, “How are we getting to Western Domain? Are we taking horses?”
“No.” Inuyasha answered.
“Then how are we going to get there.”
Inuyasha leaned forward, dragging Kagome with him and placing Sango's hand in Miroku's before taking a deep breath. A deep whirling sensation engulfed them before the swirling colors around them disappeared to reveal the forests of Western Domain.
Kagome blinked in surprise. Was that the transportation spell? She was about to compliment Inuyasha until she saw his pale face and heard his gasping for air. It was then that she remembered how energy zapping the spell was.
“Are you ok?” She asked.
“Give me a moment.” He answered.
Kagome looked toward Sango just in time for her to give her husband a worried look. Miroku, on the other hand, had a very intense expression. Why they seemed so apprehensive, Kagome didn't know, but she had a feeling that they were keeping something from her.
Inuyasha, finally gathering his composure, walked passed the three of them and headed toward the sounds that assaulted his ears. He walked through the city, occasionally nodding to the children, women , and young boys that bowed to him.
“Uncle Inuyasha!” Kagome squinted to see that Rin and Shippo were running in their direction in the distance.
The kitsune jumped into the hanyou's head, squealing from excitement. “Hey Inuyasha-sama, where have you been.” The hanyou gave a snort and pulled Shippo from his head, tossing him to Kagome.
“Hey, that wasn't very nice!” She said upon catching the boy. Shippo, however, didn't seem to mind as he squealed Kagome's name tried wrapping his small arms around her chest. “I missed you!” He looked up at her with bubbling eyes. “I missed you too.” She said, hugging him to her chest.
Inuyasha felt his robe being tugged. He looked down to see Rin looking up at him with enthusiastic eyes. “Can you play with me today, Uncle Inuyasha?”
He gave her a weak smile before saying, “Sorry Rin, I need to speak with your dad.”
“Okay, he's at the palace.” With that said, Rin and Shippo left and Inuyasha turned his heel, heading toward his forlorn destination.

He walked straight into the palace, ignoring the guards who bowed to him and heading for the throne room with Kagome, Miroku and Sango following behind. Once reaching the room, Inuyasha bowed to his brother and the courtiers.
Once again, Nazuna, Sesshoumaru's most trusted advisor spoke first. “Lord Inuyasha, you have returned so soon.”
“ I come baring bad news Nazuna, Checkpoint has been taken over.”
Sesshoumaru stood. His face was calm and expressionless but there was an air of anger around him. “ Was it a fall back?” He asked.
Inuyasha rose from his kneeling position. “Yes, there were many enemies. I managed to fight off as many as I could before my attack was countered by a powerful host and her sorcerer, Bankotsu.”
“Bankotsu? So he has betrayed us.” The elder brother concluded. “Was this the only reason you ordered a retreat, otouto?” His voice seemed menacing.
“No, I could smell the large army from behind him. There was no way my solders could take on another wave and a full fledged host.”
There was a long pause following Inuyasha's statement. Kagome stood behind him with Sango and Miroku, wondering if Inuyasha was nervous. He seemed emotionless and Kagome wondered if this was his way of dealing with his brother's anger.
“This is a large blow to your defense. No doubt Naraku will send his stronger solders against us now that we have lost a precious part of the battleground.” The tai-youkai stated.
`Naraku…' Kagome repeated the name in her head. `Why does that name seem so familiar?'
“Inuyasha, you need a full time host.” Sesshoumaru concluded, causing a snarl from the younger brother. “Do not disobey me, Inuyasha! I know that you are overexerting yourself for the good of our victory and you need a proper host to aid you and don't tell me that you don't want to work with a partner! I want you to get a suitable host by the next full moon.”
“Yes, brother.” Inuyasha reluctantly agreed.
Sesshoumaru dismissed his advisors and soon it was only the five of them in the great audience chamber.
“I made a promise to father that I wouldn't let you die. I don't intend on going back on my word.” He said in a low voice so only Inuyasha could hear, however both brothers knew that there was no family love between them. All they had was a like-hate relationship that was guarded by their pact with their father and the spell placed on both of them.
“Now then,” Sesshoumaru stated, raising his voice to the normal volume, “I need some of your energy for the guarding spell. Assuming you have enough strength?”
“Yes I do.”
“Then your guests are dismissed.”

Kagome sat in her room with Sango contemplating on what had happened. A full-time host. What did that mean? Why was Inuyasha so emotionless around his brother? Why couldn't she be in the room when Inuyasha lends his energy to Sesshoumaru? The two brothers were shrouded in their own enigmatic mysteries indeed.
“I just don't get it Sango. Why is Inuyasha so angry about getting a `full-time host'?”
The taller woman shook her head. “I don't know Kagome. Maybe he doesn't want to work with a partner. It would be really beneficial if he were to find himself a well trained host, but with all the sorcerers in the war, I doubt there might be a trained on left. And Sesshoumaru ordered Inuyasha to have a host by the end of next month.”
She rose from her chair, heading to the exit of Kagome's room. “I'm sorry for leaving you, but I want to go see Kohaku.”
“It's all right Sango, you go ahead. I need a moment alone anyway.”
Following Sango's nod and departure, Kagome found herself resting against the cushions against her bed. No one had informed her about what a full time host's uses were. Sighing, she removed herself from the bed and the room altogether. Walking in the hallway, she let her mind travel from topic to topic.
How was she going to get home with a war in her way. At the rate things were going now, she doubted that she would be back soon. She wanted to help, but everyone shun her aid. She wasn't some delicate flower that would waste away in the dessert. She could fight too!
Kagome stopped in mid-step. She looked up into the ceiling with fierce determination. She would help by volunteering to be Inuyasha's host, and there was no way he could stop her!
“Hi Kagome!”
She whirled around to see Rin looking up at her. The little girl seemed as energetic as ever. “Are you lost?” She asked.
“What are you doing here Rin?”
“I was playing hide and seek, but I couldn't find Shippo so I let him keep hiding. When he thinks I gave up, I'll get him”
Kagome chuckled. She really liked Rin's spontaneous attitude. “You need help Kagome-chan?”
“Yes, actually, can you tell me where Inuyasha's room is?”
“Uh huh, go to the room upstairs next to the red tower. Uncle Inuyasha is there.”
“Thank you Rin.”
“Your very welcome.” Rin ran off into the hall, singing happily as Kagome turned in the direction of Inuyasha's room.
She followed Rin's advice, but her lousy sense of direction had her constantly asking for directions. Finally, she neared her destination but not without hearing Miroku's voice come from the room.
“Inuyasha, you are obligated to find a host. We both know how much you need one. You keep over-exerting yourself, you need someone to balance your power! You can't even absorb the Tetsusaiga's power without a host. How do you expect to get Kagome home.”
“Shut up bouzo! I know all that!”
“Then do something about it.”
“I don't need a host!”
“Why are you so stubborn about having a sorcery partner!”
With that last sentence, Kagome could no longer hold her presence secret. She burst into the room with intense determination. “Inuyasha, I want to be your full- time host!”
Both men gaped at her sudden intrusion and at her shocking statement. Miroku looked intrigued while the stunned look on Inuyasha's face became one bathed in annoyance.
“NO. FUCKING. WAY!” he snarled as he got up from his seat.
“What? Why not! I can be a good host, I helped you at checkpoint and I don't want to sit around helpless while there is a war going on!”
“Shut up, wench! You don't know what it means to be a full-time host!”
“Inuyasha,” Miroku interrupted, “I believe Kagome will be a swell host. If she can hold out in a goddess summoning, then she could easily handle the rest.”
“Baka! You know she's inexperienced.” Inuyasha snarled.
“Then teach me what I have to do!” Kagome ordered.
“NO! YOR ARE NOT GOING TO BE MY HOST AND THAT IS FINAL!”
Seeing that the argument was going nowhere quickly, Miroku sneaked out of the room, leaving the them to their argument. He hoped that Kagome would find a way to convince the stubborn hanyou otherwise.
“I AM going to be your host!”
“No, you are not!”
“Yes I am!”
“NO!”
“Yes!”
“NO!”
“Yes I am! And there is nothing you can do to change my mind!”
The hanyou angrily grabbed and yanked her wrist so that she was pressed against his chest, her face only inches from his. She was unaffected by this, looking up at him with defiant eyes. His hold on her wrist tightened when he spoke.
“You have no idea what war is like and what it truly means to act as a sorcerer's host. There are things at work here that you can't control. You're saying you are willing to watch people die in front of you and know it was your doing. You want be become tainted by war?”
“No.” She replied solemnly.
“Then don't put your life on the line as my host. It's a compromising position. You would have to sacrifice more than you know.” He bared a fang at her.
“I don't want to be your host so that I could go charging into battle and kill people. I want this war to end so that no one else can be harmed. I don't want to sit here helpless. I'm not some delicate ` Desert Rose' that can be broken. I have thorns. And I'm willing to do whatever it takes to protect the people here and help battle.”
He leaned in closer to her face, close enough so that his breath puffed against her skin when he spoke next. “Do you really believe you can handle it. Are you ready to lay your life on the line? If there is a shred of doubt in you then there's no way you can ever be my host.”
“I'll do anything! I want to help people and I want to help you! I didn't come to this world so I could be a burden.”
He let go of her wrist and she rubbed the sore spot on her hand before returning her attention to him. He had moved to open the balcony doors of his room, standing and gazing at the view. The sun was setting now. She came up to stand next to him, watching as the sun pulled its light into the horizon.
“A long time ago, there was another war.” She jumped slightly at suddenly hearing him speak. His tone had completely changed from anger to emotionless. “ I only had two full time hosts in my entire life. My first was a powerful sorceress called Lady Jordan. She's a noble of Northern Domain. My other host was a woman…named Kikyo.”
Kagome listened as he told the tale. “There was another war at the time. Kikyo was a miko from one of our cities. I met her through my mother. She was a recruit for a host. Since she was powerful as a miko, my father thought it best for her to be my host. Our relationship was only one based on business because all we wanted to do was protect what we cared about. Over time, though, we became friends. She died. Another host in battle killed her and I was blamed for her death. I don't want to have another death on my head.”
“What makes you think that I'll just rush into battle and die. I'm not a fool, Inuyasha.”
“Yes you are. This isn't a game, it's war. People will die. I don't think you'll go into battle and die, I think you'll go into battle and be killed.”
“But I won't! I won't die because I will not give up.”
He was silent for a while. It was dark now, as dark as Kagome's hair.
She saw him re-enter the room and sit on his bed. “Tomorrow, I'll go ask Sesshoumaru if I can go see Lady Jordan.” He said.
“So, you'd rather have her as your host.” She felt hurt and betrayed.
“No.”
Her head snapped up in question.
“I'm trying to get you a teacher.”
She blinked for a moment. Did he accept just her as his host? She lunged at him, knocking him down into the mattress and squealing into his ear. “Oh, thank you Inuyasha! I won't let you down, I promise!”
“Kami, not so loud, wench!”
She giggled. She rose up to leave and tell Miroku and Sango the good news. A jerk on her wrist had her stumble to have her chest clash with his. Her face fell into the crook of his neck. “Come on, Inuyasha. Don't you ever get tired of this?” She tried to move away again but he had already hooked his arms around her waist.
He sat up with her still pinned to him and moved so that his head hit the pillows with her lying flat on top of him.
She began to struggle, kicking at him to let her go. “Darn it! Let go of me! I said I'm not your personal pillow!”
“You are now.”
Her eyes widened. Something clicked in her mind and she didn't like his sly tone. She screeched causing his ears to painfully lie back. She started bucking and kicking to get away from him.
He flipped them over, pinning her hands over her head with one clawed hand, trapping her legs with his own and using his weight to pin her down. She looked up at him with shaky eyes. His eyes softened once he saw her obvious distress.
“I don't know what you assumed, but I never meant that I was going to take advantage of you. Didn't I make it clear that I don't like mistreating people.”
She stared up at him fearfully. “Then what did you mean that I am your new personal pillow `now'.”
He looked at her for a moment before causing her to squeak when he collapsed into her, laughing into the crook of her neck.
“Baka, I meant that you have to spend the rest of your nights resting with me. I'm not going to rape you.”
“What? Why do I have to-”
“You pretty much sealed your fate when you agreed to be my host. A host has to be with her sorcerer at night so he, or she, can gather strength.”
“How is resting with you supposed to help you-”
“When you go for training ask Jordan to explain it to you. I'm tired. One of the reasons for having a host is for their company as well as their strength in battle. She'll explain it all to you.”
Inuyasha's explanation didn't give her much comfort. She still felt uncomfortable in her position. Somehow he sensed her anxiety and lifted himself so that she lay on her side in his arms instead of underneath him. He held her close with his arms around her waist and she buried her head in his chest, listening to his heartbeat.

“I hate camels, I hate camels, I hate camels.” She repeated under her breath over and over as the four of them rode across the dessert.
They had been traveling toward a place called the Lunar Oasis, where Lady Jordan lived, for three whole days. Kagome's mind was filled with the irritation of having to once again ride, the horrid camel. She kept thinking about what had happened three days earlier.
After she awoke to find Sango and Miroku looking happily at her, they congratulated her for convincing Inuyasha to accept her as his host. Soon she had found herself being called into the great audience with a servant as her escort.
Sesshoumaru had given Inuyasha permission to accept Kagome as his host and take her for training. Unfortunately he hadn't given Kagome all the time in the world to train. He told her that by the end of the spring season, in three months, she should be a full- fledged host.
Not only was she to be ready by then, Kagome wasn't an official host until her debut as a full host and until she could tie her mortal powers with Inuyasha's. So Inuyasha, Kagome, Miroku and Sango had left right after their morning speech, heading for Lunar Oasis.
Miles and miles of dessert stretched before Kagome. Three days she had been riding the same camel with Inuyasha riding behind her as Miroku rode with his wife. It was a draining ride for the past three days as the four of them had to toil through sandstorms and the looming thirst since they had to conserve their water supply.
“I hate camels.” She muttered again.
“I'm sure the camel hates you too. What did the camel ever do to you?” The voice from behind her chuckled.
“They're ugly, they spit, they stink, and the purposely walk funny so their humps hit your legs.”
Inuyasha sighed. “I wish you could've transported us again.” She said.
“It's not that easy. My wound from checkpoint is still healing and, I used up too much power in the last five days to even think about using another spell.”
“Why couldn't we take horses…”
“Your so picky.”
“No, I'm not! I just want a comfortable ride.”
Miroku and Sango stopped their camel next to the suddenly halting camel of Inuyasha. Kagome blushed at the image of Sango and Miroku sitting on their camel or rather Miroku sitting on the camel with Sango facing him, sitting in his lap with her legs dangling over the side of the camal. She thanked her lucky stars that she wasn't in such an intimate situation.
“C-can we rest Inuyasha?” Kagome asked.
“I'm afraid we don't have much time, Kagome-chan.” Sango interrupted.
“W-well,” She couldn't find the words. “Don't you feel uncomfortable riding on the camel?”
Sango blushed. “Well, not really. I'm used to riding a camel and…” She trailed off.
“Miroku, you guys go on ahead and tell Jordan to be ready. I'll come later. I need a break too.” He winked at Kagome, who understood that the last part of his speech was directed to her and not to Miroku and Sango.
As the two rode off together, still in their intimate position, Inuyasha helped the girl get to her feet. They sat peacefully in the sand for a while and when the sun descended into the distance, Inuyasha decided it was best to move on and not lose any more time since traveling at night was easier in the desert.
Picking up his host, he positioned her in front of him on the camel with the intention that she wasn't going to straddle the dreaded animal. Instead, he placed her so that she sat directly on the hump horizontally with her knees together and her side touching his chest. He grabbed the reigns, keeping her inside of his arms and supporting her back with his for-arm and elbow so that she didn't fall off the camel. With her in place, he urged the animal forward.
“Is it more comfortable riding this way?” He tucked her head under his chin.
She nodded and again buried her head into his chest to hide her blush, though he could feel her skin heat up against him.
The desert had its own melodious song at the nighttime as the sands and wind scraped against each other to making a rhythmic whooshing sound under the moonlight of the sky. The darkness brought its own coldness just as the sun brought its horrendous heat.
He felt his host shift in her weight and snuggle closer to him for his warmth. He shifted a little so she could wrap her arms around his torso.
“It's cold.” She muttered into him.
`Keh! This desert is one big contradiction. First it's fucking hot, then it's freaking cold. I don't even know why those bastards at Eastern Domain choose to live in this hell.”
He felt her shaking. Looking down, he smirked at her.
“Want me to warm you up?”
“What-”
Before she could say anything else, he had captured her chin between his thumb and forefinger and pulled her into a warm kiss. Her eyes remained wide open but soon the shock disappeared and she succumbed into the hot feeling of the kiss. Her entire body heat up as he traced his tongue over her lips, demanding entrance, and she yielded, letting him slide his tongue in and push against hers.
He felt her shyly respond, following his tongue into his mouth. He let go of the reigns, not paying attention as their ride kept going forward while he used one hand to hold her chin captive and the other to push her shoulder and breast into his torso. She nicked her tongue on his fang. Hearing her shudder of pain, he didn't let her pull back, only held her in place and suckled on her tongue.
Kagome felt herself blaze even more with his touch and the way he suckled on her tongue. Her skin burned and she felt her heart thump in her chest. Her entire body surged with the wonderful feeling before she fell into the realm of feeling, then darkness.
Inuyasha panted, watching the limp, fainted body of the girl rise and fall in sync with his breathing. He hated using sleeping spells but hoped that it would make the ride easier for her. He kept his gaze on her, smirking when he saw the slight blush on her face.
Recapturing the reigns of the still forward moving camel, he let her rest against him as he continued to Lunar Oasis.
`I hope Kagome can master her abilities before it's too late. They will be coming to kill me soon.'

“You couldn't be more correct, half breed.” Naruku watched as his “plan” carried out her goal.
