Chapter 8: Wind goddess
Disclaimer: I don't Inuyasha! Okay? Okay.
He blinked at her statement, heart beating frantically, relief quickly fading away to become exasperation. He eyed the woman irritably, causing her to narrow her eyes at him in discomfort.
“And why, pray tell, did you leave her there in the middle of nowhere?” He retorted as Sango came near, her horse grumbling for breath and rest, indicating that she had rushed to meet her companions.
She panted, trying to get her sentence out between breathes. “That's just the problem Inuyasha-sama-”
He hadn't given her time to finish her news. She had seen him urge the horse forward, while she was in mid-speech, with Miroku and Kouga following suit.
She stayed where she was, breathing the warm air in such urgency that she became faint. Once revitalized with oxygen, she turned her reluctant horse in the direction she had come from, beginning her pursuit of the other solders.
Once she was able to catch up with Miroku, she had noticed that the leader of the males was expressionless, his features strangely calm through the difficult circumstances. Though his face was calm, she knew that there was presumably turmoil of emotions swelling inside of him as he continued his forward motion with his horse. Through the years she had noticed that Inuyasha rarely publicized any emotions, possibly keeping with his brother's emotionless exterior. She could easily observe the intensity of his gaze that was focused forward toward his goal.
The border was thriving with enemy movement. Solders and scaly, snake-like creatures were re-grouping, re-arming, and readying for another strike at their foes. Keeping their distance so they could remain unnoticed, the opposite side of where the violent army coiled and circled in their preparation for attack.
“How are we going to get to her now? It's your call, dog-turd.” Kouga remarked.
“I'm not sure and I don't think that the entire army will go after a distraction.” He answered.
“Look there!” Following the direction that Sango indicated, their gazes locked on the figure resting in the sand on the edge of the hordes of mercenaries. The body that looked like-
“Kagome.” Inuyasha stared at her. What was she doing there? Was she kidnapped when she had disappeared at the bath? He didn't want to ponder the mystery of her sudden vanishing act and her reappearance with the enemy no less. What mattered now was seeing if she was all right and getting her to safety. How he was going to accomplish that, he wasn't sure.
“It's not like we can go in there and fight against all those solders. There are far too many.” Miroku stated.
“Thank you for the update Mr. State-the-obvious.” Kouga replied.
“Shut-it Kouga! Who said we couldn't charge in there.” Inuyasha readied his horse to go forward. “We would be stopping a large army as well getting Kagome back.”
Sango had urged her beast in front of the ignorant general, stopping him before he could foolishly charge into a war-zone where it would be one against one hundred. “Are you insane! Inuyasha, even with our combined powers, there is no way the four of us could take on all those enemies.”
“How do you suppose we are going to get Kagome out of there then?” He retorted viscously.
“I-I d-don't,” Sango stuttered, “I don't know.”
“Keh!”
He rode on forward, ignoring her protests, intent on fighting.
“I'm going too.” Kouga said. “There's no way I'll let mutt-face get all the glory.” With that said, Kouga rode off leaving Miroku and his wife staring at the sand behind them.
“You know Sango-san, their enthusiasm is kind of rubbing off, isn't it?”
His wife signed in response before grabbing the giant boomerang on her back and charging right into the fight area while Miroku stared stupefied at her sudden change.
“I'll never turn down a fight Miroku!” She yelled over her shoulder.
“Neither will I, my love!” He rode off after her.
Before Inuyasha could rip up an enemy with his claws, the swift wind of a flying, slicing boomerang shredded a row of enemies before him. Inuyasha turned his head just in time to see the weapon return to its owner. “Hiraikotsu!” Sango hurled the boomerang as she jumped off her horse to catch the returning weapon now coated with the blood of the adversaries it demolished.
“What happened to `There's no way we can fight?'” He called out smugly while striking a creature through its chest.
“There's no way I'll let you have all the fun Inuyasha!” Sango replied.
“Keh!”
A creature lunged for him from behind. He heard the violent war cry before whirling around to the half snake, half human creature. Blood splattered in the sand, followed by a painful screech of agony. He pulled his hand from the chest cavity of the demon, crushing the pulsating center as the blood spilled onto him. He dove straight into the crowd of opponents hacking and slashing whatever stood in his way, coating his white robes with the carnage of foes.
He noticed the wind to his right. Kouga rammed through the solders kicking and clawing his way into the swarm of solders.
“Barrier!” Bodies were blown away from Miroku, colliding with the sand, scraping their hide in the grains. Energy gathered in his chest, concentrating on the force of power, assembling the strength on the end of his staff. The force field dropped. Enemies lunged at him with the fall of his fortification only to be ripped to shreds by the spell that was forced out from the staff's end. Demon solders fell into the ground in bloody pieces. Fighting was strenuous but effortless. It was far too easy, something was not right. Pushing aside those thoughts, he turned his attention back to the carnage spilling ahead.
“Hiraikotsu!” Catching the weapon again, she panted for breath. This was getting gruesome. No matter how powerful they were, they could tire out from so many enemies and fall from exhaustion. She and Miroku were human; they were bound to tire out and she was fatigued already.
“Sango!” Inuyasha lacerated his way toward her. He came to kneel beside her. “Are you alright?” She nodded through pants. While Sango recovered from fatigue, Inuyasha threw blades of the enemies' blood into the hordes making the blades circle and hack through them. When he was satisfied with the amount of slaughter, he knelt beside the worn out Taijiya. “Sango, can you help me wipe out the rest?”
“You need a host?”
“Yes, I can't do the spell without it. Don't worry, I'll take the damage.”
She nodded and stood. “Do your worst.”
He nodded. All she saw was the red that came from his chest cavity before the ribbon of red encircled her wrist. She felt rejuvenated; Inuyasha's power surging into her arm and spreading into her chest.
“Rise.” He said. Sango's mind went blank. Her pink clothes becoming white and her mind on one intent: vanquish. “I summon,” her voice becoming one with the half-sorcerer, “the wind from the desert. Come and empower me. Give the me the strength of the wind!”
Inuyasha stepped back. The host had completed the transformation spell, becoming the wind goddess for a small time and floating in the air next to him. He would have to hurry and channel his power through her so she could perform it.
“Razor…” They spoke in one voice. “WIND!” The expression-less Sango made an “X” with her arms before laying her them parallel to one another, the host power releasing from her palms.
A hurricane of gust and vehement breezes cut through the atmosphere. Raining parts and blood fell from the sky. The yellow grains of sand becoming red at the border, bodies lying hacked up and every creature and demon solder slaughtered.
Sango floated back down till her feet touched the ground, her clothes returning to their original color and the fog from her mind clearing. She was unaffected and relaxed. The ribbon around her wrist that had connected her power with Inuyasha's disappearing and she saw Inuyasha kneel in the sand to gather his composure. “Sango!”
Miroku, upon reaching his wife, had pulled her into a strong embrace and, if the desert weren't so hot, she would be utterly appreciative of his warm show of affection. “I'm fine.” She said. “It was Inuyasha who took the damage from the spell.”
“Sango, was that a goddess summoning?” Miroku asked. He had never seen one of the most powerful spells in existence.
“I think so.” She said.
The hanyou had risen to his feet, now making his way across the red sands wobbly past Kouga, who stared open-mouthed as the general passed. “Show off.” He grunted to hide the fact that he was indeed impressed by the show of power.
Inuyasha ignored him, breathing heavily. He didn't want to resort to such powerful sorcery, but against all those enemies and, with Kagome in danger, he attacked on instinct. Though, the wind goddess spell was one of the powerful spells he had mastered, thanks to his mother's teachings, it didn't deny the fact that the spell left him tired for a moment or so.
Kouga, Miroku and Sango had reached the unconscious Kagome before him. They stood waiting for him.
“Well mutt-face, I say we gather the spoils of the war.” He reached to pick Kagome up. A hand on his wrist stopped him. “What's your deal, dog-turd!” Inuyasha flashed him a death glare. “Do not touch her.” He said.
Miroku sighed. “Inuyasha, don't you think you're being a little over protective.”
He let go of Kouga's wrist. “Don't say I didn't warn you.”
Kouga bent down to pick up the girl. His hand reached out to hold her, a sudden force caused him to fly back and collide with the sand, the grains flying up with the impact. He raised himself to his elbows, grunting from the pain. “What the hell?”
“I told you. I knew there would be a booby trap. You never listen, do you wolf-breath.” Inuyasha raised his eyebrows.
Kouga rose to his feet with a growl. Inuyasha turned his attention back to Miroku. Silent words were passed through the monk and the hanyou before Miroku nodded, understanding Inuyasha's expression. Miroku moved to rummage through his robes. He pulled out a sutra from the pockets of his robe. Muttering a small prayer, he placed the sutra on the ground and stabbed his staff through it.
The misty feeling surrounding Kagome faded. Sango fell to grab her friend with such lightening speed while the men gawked at her. She shook the younger girl's shoulders, desperately trying to rouse her. “Kagome! Kagome-chan!”
The girl didn't stir, nor did she make any sound or move. Miroku knelt, placing his hand on the unconscious girl's forehead. “She's not warm. It could be sunstroke or heat exhaustion.” He said.
Inuyasha and Kouga had moved to gather their rogue horses that had run off due to the turmoil of the fighting. Once returning with the beasts intact, Inuyasha had taken the girl from the ground to rest her body against him on the mare.

They had ridden all the way to checkpoint. Sango sat in a chair near the bed Inuyasha had lain her down on before leaving the room ordering Sango to stay with her just in case Hiroshi decided to risk his health to sneak into the room. “Kagome-chan.” The girl had not stirred, spoken, or moved since they brought her here. She hadn't even responded to the water they had tried to give her. Inuyasha had gone to fetch her a physician while Miroku went to do some damage control from that last battle. Kouga was ordered to go back to base-point in case another battle was on its way.
Inuyasha burst back into the room. “Anything change?” He asked. Sango shook her head. “No, I'm afraid.” She answered. “Inuyasha,” she asked, “can you stay with her for a while? I want to find Miroku.” His nod was her only answer. She gave him a weak smile for gratitude before she left the room. He knew she was seeking her husband for comfort. He also knew that she knew, for some reason, that Kagome would respond to him.
Inuyasha sat in the seat where Sango was seated in not long ago. Staring at her face, that seemed so helpless in sleep, he noticed that she was paler than usual, as if she had seen something horribly frightening.
He rose from his place, stepping across the room to a small table, lifting a pitcher of water, and carrying it around the room to sit back on the chair. He poured a cup, lifting it to her mouth, hoping she would drink this time. The water dripped down her chin.
He removed himself from the chair, sliding into the bedding next to her. He held her up so that she was lying horizontally across his lap. He lifted the cup to her chin and again the water slid down her chin and dripped onto her neck.
Silent for a moment, he stared blankly at her. Her breathing was silent and weak, as if there was no water in her throat. Putting the water to his lips this time, he lifted her till his lips brushed hers, parting the entrance to her mouth and forcing the water in. He finally felt her respond. She moved, her eyelids twitching before he felt her throat bump as she gulped the water down. He removed his lips from hers, watching while she gasped for air through slightly bruised lips as the water made its way down. He repeated the action till he felt her breathing heighten.
Lazily a misty, blue eye opened and stared at him.
“I-Inuyasha?”
He took in a deep breath of relief. “My head…” her voice was weak and hoarse.
“What happened Kagome?”
“I don't remember. I was on my way back from the baths…then there was a storm…lightning…” She rested her cheek on his heartbeat.
“How did…how did I get here?”
“We found you unconscious at the border.”
“ Uh… `we?'”
“Miroku, Sango, Kouga and I.”
She sighed and closed her eyes again. Not long after he felt her go limp and assumed that she had gone back to sleep, only , this time, the sleep was normal. Her breathing was in place and even, not silent and invisible as it had been before.
He was calmer now that she seemed to be back to normal. That which had daunted him seemed to fade when she had woken up and though she had awoken, things were still left unresolved. Who had brought her to the border, who had placed that barrier around her, and why was there a horde of enemies waiting there along with her?
He grew suspicious. Years of experience had told him not to fully trust anyone so that he wouldn't be hurt or surprised should they betray him. The foreign scent that clung to her did not sit well with him. Someone had touched her, let alone bruised her because he could tell how roughly handled she had been.
She opened her eyes again. “You're bleeding? What happened Inuyasha?”
“It's not my blood.” He answered her. Her eyes widened it his answer. If it wasn't his blood, was it hers? She jumped up a little in his hold, looking at her clothes to see of there were any stains of blood but none would be found.
“It's not your blood either.” He said when he noticed her frantic search for injuries. “You're so paranoid.”
He removed himself from the bed, laying her down on the sheets so she could rest. Inuyasha watched her wearily close her eyes and drift off to a calm sleep. He heard a slight rapping on the door before the door slid open to reveal Sango and Miroku as they peered inside.
“Anything change?” Sango asked.
“I gave her some water. She awoke a little while ago.”
“I think water was all she needed. I knew she would respond to you Inuyasha. You are the first sorcerer she has met here after all.”
As soon as those words had escaped from Miroku's mouth, he had regretted ever saying it, for Inuyasha had given him a suspicious glare.
“What do you mean ` the first sorcerer she met here,' monk.”
“Didn't she tell you Inuyasha?”
“Tell me what?”
Miroku sighed in frustration. “I'm sure she told you she came from another world.”
Inuyasha raised an eyebrow at him before a smug smile traced his lips. “That's the biggest load of bullshit I've heard. She had told me something like that. Don't tell me you actually believe her.”
“Inuyasha, it all fits. No one who has grown up in this warring age can be so pure and tolerant. You said you found her at the border. If she were from Eastern Domain, she'd be bruised and untrusting. Don't you think that the sudden appearance of the Tetsusaiga is strange? Don't you think the sword brought her here?”
True, he had thought of all those points but the whole idea felt so…farfetched. If a woman was dropped into your care and claimed to be from another world, would you believe her.
“You're the first sorcerer she met here and only you can handle the Tetsusaiga to send her back to her home.” Miroku said.
“I would do just that IF I believed her and IF the border was clear from enemy movement to send her back.” Inuyasha retorted.
Their argument was disrupted by a low grumble of tiredness. Sango had whizzed to Kagome's side in an instant, watching worriedly as the girl opened her eyes in response to the loud argument.
“What's going on?” Somehow she had found the strength to sit up and stare at the two males, whom had stopped arguing and were both looking at her with mixed expressions.
“Kagome, I need to speak with you.” Inuyasha's voice was full of slight anger and irritation.
“Uh…okay, Inuyasha.” She wondered what was so important all of a sudden.
“Alone.” Inuyasha added, indicated that Miroku and his wife were un-invited.
“Alright Inuyasha-sama.” They answered together before leaving the room.
Kagome took a deep breath before looking up at the hanyou. “Well, what is it?” She asked.
“Are you really from another world?”
She blinked at him. Did he finally believe her or was this all a hoax. “Would you believe me if I said yes?”
“Depends on the circumstances.”
“Yes, I am from another world. I was walking home from school when I saw the Tetsusaiga coming out of the ground in one of the sandboxes. I pulled it out and next thing I knew I was here. Then you found me.”
“So then it's true…Shit!” He slumped into the seat next to the bed. He was scowling and his face was put into a deep train of thought that Kagome knew he was keeping something from her. Was there something about her being from another world that would affect him?
“If you're here…then…” he mumbled to himself.
“What, Inuyasha?”
He stood. “Never mind.” He said.
She was about to glower at him for leaving her in suspense when suddenly the floor began to shake, the sound of rumbling and grunting coming from the window before Miroku burst into the room, gasping for breath.
“Inuyasha! Check-point is under attack!” Miroku warned before he ran from the room in haste to go assist in the fighting.
“Shit!” Inuyasha turned his attention to the girl who was shaking in the bedding from the news. He bent down toward her. “Kagome, I need your help.” He said in haste and desperation.
She looked up at him. Stuttering she said “W-what?”
“I can't leave you here unprotected and I don't want to wait in the sidelines while everyone else toils away fighting. I need your help to perform a spell. Don't worry, I promise you wont be hurt.”
She stumbled to her feet and looked at him. He wasn't lying, she could tell from the seriousness in his eyes. She nodded. “Let's do it. Tell me what I have to do.”
He handed her the Tetsusaiga, telling her to hold on to it. “All you have to do is concentrate and I'll do the rest. You just have to act as a host.”
He picked her up before jumping out the window to land swiftly on his feet before yanking her wrist and dragging her into the battle ground. All Kagome had seen was the red ribbon that sprung from Inuyasha's hand to wrap around her wrist. She barely registered the incantation she uttered with Inuyasha. She suddenly felt empowered before her feet left the ground. Her entire body glowed with a radiant white light and she relied on instinct, suddenly unsheathing the Tetsusaiga. The rusty blade became a large sword that seemed simple to handle for her.
A vast city with solders clashing against snake-like creatures and other mercenaries dressed in black stretched before her. In synch with Inuyasha's voice and movements she raised the blade over her head as he raised his arm over his. “Kaza no…” They said in one voice. The solders wearing white and silver armor stopped their movements and froze in place. A barrier surrounded their allies, shielding them from the powerful impact that was to come.
“…Kizu!!” Kagome swung the sword in front of her. A tornado of wind power surged through the battleground hacking away anything in its path and demolishing it into dust.
The solders of checkpoint watched in awe. For a moment they revealed in the glory of victory before a blue light of war hit their general in the shoulder.
Inuyasha kneeled in the sand, his power still connected to Kagome. He hadn't seen the attack coming and it had his him square through the shoulder. Looking into the direction of the attacker, his eyes widen at what they saw.
A woman glowing blue as the host of another goddess summoning, her short black hair and red eyes floating with her body above the sand. There was another powerful sorcerer who had anticipated his attack and countered with one of his own. He couldn't fight a full-fledged host and put Kagome's life in danger, not to mention that he was tired from performing the powerful spell with Sango earlier.
Angrily he broke the red ribbon that tied his power to Kagome and caught her before she hit the sand. He gasped for breath, feeling dizzy from the extreme use of power. There was no way his troops could fight a goddess summon. The sand cleared from behind the blue host revealing her summoner. A man with long black hair pulled back into a braid, carrying a large sword on his back. Inuyasha recognized the human traitor at once. “Bankotsu.” He growled.
Reluctantly he ordered a retreat. The solders fell back following the general's orders. They had lost this battle.

A now fully informed Kagome sat next to Inuyasha, who had his top shirt in a wrinkled bundle at his waist, on his bed at Base-point, watching as Sango tended to Inuyasha's wound. Miroku leaned onto the wall of the tent next to them with his staff lain vertically against his body as he crossed his arms.
The four of them were silent till Sango spoke. “All done, Inuyasha-sama.” Inuyasha pulled his white robe back on, slowly pulling the arm with the injured shoulder through the sleeve.
“This is all my fault. If I wasn't at the border, you wouldn't have had to fight the army to get to me and they wouldn't have come to Checkpoint to attack you for revenge.” Kagome's eyes were downcast. “I'm so sorry you guys. I didn't mean for you to get hurt.” The last part of the speech was directed to Inuyasha, who looked at her with a featureless expression before he said, “It's not your fault. We were just over powered that's all. There are always wins and loses in a war.”
“Inuyasha.” Miroku's voice had cut in. “I was wondering, what was that spell that you used. What that the goddess summoning.”
“Yes it was.” Inuyasha answered.
“Um. What's a goddess summoning?” Kagome asked out of curiosity.
“It's one of the most powerful sorcery spells I know. It's so powerful that you need a host to do it. A host is someone who can carry out the spell given by the sorcerer. You pretty much saw the how my power came through you and you performed it. You get the idea. A sorcerer can summon the power of one of the four goddesses: fire, water, wind and earth into a host's body for aid in a war. The host temporarily becomes the goddess and is able to use their powers. I can only summon the wind goddess. It's the only one of the I've mastered.”
“Inuyasha-sama,” Miroku said, “You never told me you could use the goddess summoning. How did you come upon to use such a powerful spell?”
“Mother, she had a spell book with all of her secrets, that's how.” He answered. “That woman I saw at Checkpoint, she was a host for the water goddess.”
Inuyasha turned his attention back to Kagome, who flinched at the intensity of his gaze. “I can't send you back home, until I've absorbed the Tetsusaiga's power or until the border is safe to send you back. Do you understand?”
She nodded, relieved that he finally believed her.

Nighttime had fallen. Kagome sat next to the bed where Inuyasha lay to recover from the mass amounts of energy he had used. Sango had offered to share her tent with her but Kagome had refused to leave Inuyasha after all the trouble she had caused. Miroku, however, took the opportunity given by Kagome to spend some alone time comforting his wife. So they both had left the tent with satisfied looks.
She stared at the hanyou's face, remembering the same peaceful face he had when she had found him asleep in the golden room at Western Domain. She was glad that he finally believed that she was from another world but also upset at all the trouble she had caused him.
After he had told her he needed to absorb the Tetsusaiga's power to send her home, he also told her that the spell she had cast with him (“Kaza no Kizu!”) was one of Tetsusaiga's powers. He had clarified that the spell was one of the wind goddesses' spells, which was why she was able to perform it as a host.
Following Inuyasha's explanation he had turned to Miroku. Inuyasha had told him that a traitor, Bankotsu, had joined the enemy. He explained how the tables had turned for the worst, for if Bankotsu, a very powerful sorcerer, was on their side, then there were no doubt that the sorcerers on the enemy army were getting more powerful.
Once Sango and Miroku had left, Inuyasha turned his attention back to Kagome, saying that he would leave for Western Domain the next day. When Kagome asked him what his solders would do, Inuyasha answered that he would let Kouga handle it. He then went on to say he was taking her with him, saying that after her disappearance, there was no way he'd let her out of his sight.
Kagome's mind shifted back to the present. She rested her cheek against her palm and placed her elbow on Inuyasha's bed, staring at his relaxed features. She wished she were back at the golden room with him and all these things she had caused never happened. She hated it when others were hurt on her account and now…
She sighed, trying to shift her attention and thoughts to other things and trying to remember what had happened to her after her bath in Western Domain. She shook her head in frustration. All she could remember immediately after heading back to the castle of Western Domain was the pain in her head, then the warmth on her lips and the water going down her throat before her vision had come to view to show Inuyasha hovering over her with a worried look.
She blushed. Did he…
“What's with the face again?”
Her heart flipped in surprise and she looked up to see that the hanyou had awoken and was staring at her.
“What face?”
“Your all flushed, are you sick or blushing.”
His statement made her blush even more. “I...um…”
He rose to rest on his elbows, golden eyes meeting her wide, blue ones. “Tell me.” He ordered quietly.
She swallowed. “Um…at Checkpoint…did you…were you the one that…the water…”
“What?”
“Were you the one that gave me the water at checkpoint?”
“Yeah.”
“How did you-”
“Through the mouth, you wouldn't swallow the water on your own so I gave it to you through the mouth.”
Her eyes widened and a heavy blush covered her face before, “YOU JERK!”
His ears flattened against his head for a moment. “That's the thanks I get after saving you from dehydration, you bitch!”
Her shoulders dropped and she hung her head silently. Was she shaking?
“That…that was my first kiss.”
He stared at her in disbelief. He knew she was innocent but not THIS innocent. He supposed it must've been an important thing for her since she was making such a fuss. She was crying now. He rose from his position to hold her forearms and drag her into his lap. This was the only form of comfort he knew of and it only seemed to make her cry harder. She clutched the bloody clothing on his chest, barring her face in his torso to hide her tears and shame.
He just let her cry it out, thinking it would relax her. All he could do was wrap his arms around her. He was sorry, but telling her that now would only sadden her more and he didn't want to do that.

Sango rested her head against the bare chest of her husband. She was very content to finally find time to join with him. The war had separated them enough, they had to take every opportunity to be together as they could.
The monk was breathing calmly, lying beneath her. He stared down at her for a moment before he spoke. “I've really missed this.” He laid his head back down on the pillows before he heard her reply, “Me too.”
It was a temporary happiness, both of them knew that the next day they had to forget their time together to go to Western Domain and give Sesshoumaru the news. They had briefly forgotten about the things to come and rested against each other blissfully forgetting the war and everything in between. Neither of them wanted to mention anything negative. Husband and wife wanted to enjoy their moment while it lasted.

Inuyasha rested his back against the cushions of his bed with a now silently sobbing Kagome. She had calmed down somewhat and was now lying down on him, her face still buried into his chest. She had reduced her cries to sobs, not understanding why he held her when it was his fault she was crying. His hands rubbed up and down her back in an effort to sooth her and it was working. He was staring blankly at the ceiling, listening to her muffled sobs.
“I'm sorry.”
“Huh?”
“I said, I'm sorry. I didn't know that it was your first kiss. I didn't know how important it was to you either. I honestly thought you had already kissed someone.”
She fisted his shirt harder but said nothing.
“Hey.” She looked up at him to be rewarded with that famous smirk of his.
“How about I make it up to you by giving you a real kiss?”
She glowered at him. “You jerk! You steal my first kiss and now you're-”
A hand on her back pushed her to him locking his lips with hers. Her eyes widened at action. She stared into his face to see his eyes were closed and relaxed and she tried to move away but the hand on her wrist and back kept her in place. She became weak, possessed by the warmth of his lips and the gentleness of his hands. Closing her eyes, she felt him flip them over so that he was on top, not breaking the kiss in the movement but running his tongue over her teeth and ordering entrance.
“Mm.” She whimpered.
He pushed her down till the bedding was against her back and he was hovering over her. She gave in, letting his tongue surge against hers. He growled in approval when she timidly ran her tongue against him. His arms had gone around her waist, lifting her so that he dove deeper into her mouth. Her back arched with his arms and her arms remained loose and to her sides, too weak to move.
Blushing at the contact of her chest against his, she was startled when his tongue lapped around hers in a slow and gently motion as if not to scare her. She relaxed and let him tap her tongue with his till she bashfully responded, making him moan with the act.
Their lips disconnected, a thin line of saliva between them. She sank into the bedding gasping for air underneath him as he did the same from above. He quickly recovered and looked down at her. Eyes closed, she was breathing in and out through slightly swollen lips, her breathing so rigid that it was difficult for him not to stare at her chest, which was rising and falling with the motion. She opened her misty, blue eyes to look at him.
He panted in a few breaths before speaking. “That's what a real kiss should feel like.” He smirked.
She raised her hands to rest fisted protectively around her chest. Blushing, she looked at his now gentled face. His upper body was till hovering over her, his chest a few inches above hers, supported by his elbows and his chin resting against his palm. “I think…I should go.” She began to rise, but his hand on her shoulder kept her back on the bed. She glared up at him. She was embarrassed enough, couldn't he let her go gather her wits.
“I wouldn't go to Sango's tent if I were you. I can smell them from here and I'm sure they don't want to be disturbed in their lovemaking. Wouldn't it be utterly embarrassing if you were to walk in on them climaxing?” He smirked when he saw her eyes widen and her cheeks become even redder than before.
“You're joking. You just want to keep me here.”
“I've known that monk for a long time. He'll take any change he can get to join with his wife.”
Kagome sighed, releasing the breath she was holding. It was very uncomfortable lying down underneath a man like this so she turned her head to the side to avoid his gaze, her hands still placed protectively over her chest. “Can you at least let me go for a walk?” she asked.
“After what happened last time you were here? Do you really think I'll let you go outside?”
“I guess not.”
“What, you don't like being with me?”
“No, it's just…” She blushed ten fold.
He chuckled and leaned in, locking his lips with hers, entering her mouth on a gasp, and surging his tongue against hers before pulling away to let her catch her breath. She looked back at him with a mixed gaze. He let his weight drop from the support of his elbows and pillowed his head on her chest. She yelped and tried to wiggle away but his weight, and the arms that suddenly wrapped around her waist, stilled her.
“Relax.” his hot breath puffed against her chest. “I promise I wont go any farther than this. Go, to sleep, Kagome. I know you're tired.”
He was right: she was tired. Still though, she felt uncomfortable underneath him. Somehow he sensed her discomfort and said, “Haven't I told you that I cant stand it when others are abused? I don't intent to break my own principle.”
She sighed, trusting that he wouldn't mistreat her in her sleep. Soon she fell into a peaceful doze.
Once he felt her relax and sleep, he followed her course of action. He rested his head on the softness of her chest and fell into a serene sleep.
