Chapter Ten: Fate's Collide

 

 

“Sesshomaru!”

 

 

Lokelani stopped in mid swipe to turn and look in Inuyasha's direction. She was more than surprised when the group moved to surround her, weapons drawn. She peeked over Kagome's shoulder to see who the big threat was, dual orbs widening at the sight of the youkai before them. Long silver-white hair hung back his waist, blowing gently in the slight breeze, along with a long white furry boa. Her fingers itched to run up and touch it, but she'd just stare at him. Golden orbs looked straight at her, narrowing as they stayed upon her. She narrowed her eyes in response, a half snarl coming to her lips. He'd merely arch a brow before looking to Inuyasha.

 

 

“Another half breed...How interesting.”

 

 

“Shut up bastard. What in the hell do you want?”

 

 

“This Sesshomaru came to investigate the new half breed. This is none of your business.”

 

 

“I won't let you near her.”

 

 

“Inuyasha....I can take care of myself!” Lokelani snarled, stomping a booted foot.

 

 

“What a temper....must run in the human blood. Come here girl.”

 

 

“Don't go over there, Lokelani. He'll kill you.” Inuyasha muttered to the girl who had walked around Kagome and now stood behind him.

 

 

Snorting, she'd toss raven and silver tresses over her shoulder. Dual orbs narrowed even more as her slender claws moved to rest upon cocked hips. She'd move to stand side by side with Inuyasha, pushing him to the side slightly. Hands returning to her hips, she'd cant her head to Sesshomaru, noticing for the first time how similarly they were dressed.

 

 

“Why do you want to speak to me?”

 

 

“Such a brave half breed...come with me”

 

 

Without waiting for an answer, he'd turn and begin to stroll away. Lokelani's mouth moved silently for a moment, before she cocked her hips and crossed her arms. Dual orbs narrowed, her lips bowing into a scowl. Anger radiated from the girl, so strongly that even Kagome, Sango and Miroku could pick up on it.

 

 

“What gives you the right to give me orders?” she'd hiss.

 

 

“If you value your life, half breed, come with me.” was his only reply as he continued at that slow pace.

 

 

“And if I say no?”

 

 

“I'll have to kill you.” Sesshomaru stopped and cast the girl a warning glance over his shoulder.

 

 

“Like hell you will bastard!” Inuyasha shouted, brandishing the Tetsusagia at him.

 

 

“Inuyasha, that's quite enough. I'm a big girl. I can handle your brother. Besides....something....something is telling me to go with him..... I don't know what it is....But its like I have to follow him.” Lokelani rested her delicate claw on Inuyasha's cheek before nodding to Kagome.

 

 

“Sit boy!”

 

 

As Inuyasha smacked into the ground, Lokelani ran after Sesshomaru, she stopped at his side before turning to look at the group and waved her goodbye. By the time Inuyasha could stand, the two were far out of sight.

 

 

“What was that for?”

 

 

“I trust Lokelani, and if she says something's telling her to go, then its telling her to go.” Kagome replied softly, her eyes lying about what she really thought.

 

 

“She's going to get herself killed!”

 

 

“Inuyasha, I believe Kagome may be right on this matter. Lokelani is no weakling. Perhaps, just perhaps there is something deeper going on here.”

 

 

“Miroku's right. How could she get through the well when none of us can? We've all tried, even when holding on to you two. Maybe....it was just fate?”

 

 

“It still doesn't explain why that bastard wanted her....”

 

 

“Inuyasha, let's just see what happens. Okay? Miroku and Sango are right.”

 

 

“Keh. Whatever.”

 

 

“Hey Miroku, what'd you do to make Lokelani so angry?” Shippo asked from his perch on Kagome's shoulder.

 

 

“He was being his normal self, runt.”

 

 

“I didn't ask you Inuyasha!”

 

 

“Okay guys, stop it! There's been enough fighting today! I say we all go to Kaede's and relax.”

 

 

“I agree!”

 

 

“Relaxing sounds good!”

 

 

“Whatever...”

 

 

With laughter the group would start towards the village, until only Inuyasha stayed behind. He wouldn't admit just how worried he was about Lokelani, but he knew that Sesshomaru would have hell to pay if the girl got hurt. Shaking his head, the hanyou would move to follow the group towards the village, silently cursing stubborn females.
