Prologue: Flashbacks of My Past

"C'mon kaa-san, why the heck do we have ta live here? No one here will wanna play tag with me!!!" A young kitsune girl cried.

"You're such a baby Sealii. No one cares if you have someone to play with." Said a kitsune boy with short dark red hair that was held in a little pony tail, his eyes were amber and he had elf like ears, and two kitsune tails, with fangs and claws to match.

"But..." She began, but her mother had silenced her, and pointed to a boy that had cute white dog ears perched ontop of his head. "Omg, how cute. Kaa-san is he a hanyou too?" The girl asked with anticipation.

The woman nodded, "You should get to know him squirt," Said another kitsune boy, who had unruly chestnut brown hair, with glowing sapphire blue eyes, cute red kitsune ears and a red kitsune tail.

"Ok Zenzuishi." The young kitsune girl, who had long chestnut brown hair, sea foam green eyes, two red colored tails and one silver tail, red kitsune ears and claws and fangs, went running over to the boy with the cute dog ears.

"Huh?" The boy looked over to see a kitsune running over to him, waving her hand and smiling. The boy looked to his mother, who had long flowing black hair, she nodded and he stood there and awaited the arival of the girl.

"Hey!" The girl named Sealii yelled to the dog eared boy who was looking at her curiously. "Hi! My name is Sealii, or you can call me Sea like my siblings do. What's your name?" She asked, curiosity in her voice, and happiness in her eyes.

The boy replied shyly, "Inuyasha."

"Aww what a cute name to go with your cute ears." The boy just blinked, and blushed a little.

"Ah, thanks I guess."

"Sea, are you scaring that poor little boy?" A midnight icy blue haired kitsune, with elf like ears, a midnight blue tail, and Cerulean blue eyes asked jokingly.

"Aww Namaiki who am I scaring?" Sealii whined.

"That lil' cutie right there Sea." An auburn haired kitsune with fiery magenta eyes, and elf like ears flirted.

"Kitai you're too much." Retorted Namaiki.

"Um, you guys live here now?" Asked Inuyasha.

"Yes we do for the time being, and I was hoping your mother could show me around." Entered the five kitsune siblings mother.

"It would be no trouble for me to do such a small task for someone new, come with me. By the way, my name is Izayoi. What is yours?" Asked Inuyasha's mother.

"Oh, how rude of me, my name is Mizumi, we have come here from the North, you see, where we lived....." The two woman began talking as they walked off.

"Hey Inuyasha, wanna play tag?" Asked Sealii with delight.

"Uh sure." He said melancholey.

"Ok then.... Tag! You're it Inuyasha!!!" With that Sealii ran, a smile found it's way onto Inuyasha's face.

The whole day went like that, the two young kids played tag, while the four siblings watched and laughed when one of the two fell over. It was amusing to see them having so much fun, and still be able to be serious about it. Which really didn't make any sense. But it didn't really matter, the two continued to have fun for the whole day. With the occasional, "Hey you tripped me!" and "Hey that's no fair, you cheated!"

"So your husband rules over the Northern lands? Funny, my husband rules these Western lands, and my step-son Sesshomaru will be ruler once he dies." Izayoi returned, as the two women came walking back.

"Hey Inuyasha you have a brother?" Sealii asked excitedly.

"He hates me." Inuyasha said, sounding kind of hurt.

"Stop it Inuyasha, he doesn't hate you."

"He does too OkaaSan!" Retorted Inuyasha.

"I'm sure he loves you Inuyasha, he just doesn't know how to show it. Like my oldest brother Queshinta. He's a jackass." Her siblings laughed, and her mother gave her a cross look. Which made Sealii instantly whimper.

"Sealii apologize to your NiiSan right now."

"I'm sorry Queshinta, that you're such a total jackass." Everyone busted up and fell over laughing, well at least Inuyasha and the rest of the siblings. The mothers just stood there and sweat dropped. -_-;;;

"How did she learn such language?" Asked Izayoi.

"Oh, there was this wolf demon passing by us, who needed a little help, so we helped him, and he began cursing. I guess she picked it up, *sigh* surprising enough, that demon, Koga, was the sotsu (son) of the wolf demon tribes leader. So maybe that's where he got that language."

"Oh, I see, but you have to admit, that was kind of funny. No offense to your son." Izayoi said, giggling.

"Oh, no it's perfectly fine, all my children are ditzy."

"I callz us diztaful, and ditzafrenic!!!" Laughed Sealii.

"No you're a klutz, you kept tripping over your feet." Said Kitai.

"Hey Kitai, butt out will ya? You weren't even in that conversation!" Yelled Zenzuishi.

"Thank you ZenChan chan chan." Returned Sealii.

"OkaaSan, do we have a place to stay yet?" Asked Namaiki.

"Oh dear, you all must stay with me, my husband, and my sons until you find somewhere suitable to sleep at night! I've seen the place you were going to stay at, and I won't have it. So all of you just follow me, and in the morning Inuyasha can give you the grand tour." Izayoi smiled, and everyone followed her.

"Thank you so much for taking us in like this IzayoiSan." Bowed Namaiki, just before they began to walk towards a huge castle.

"It's really no trouble at all, the home may be filled with servants, my husband and my sons, but it can still be quite lonely with such a big house. I tried to let those poor creatures go, but I am not the ruler." She sighed.

"Still, thank you so very much."

"You're quite polite for someone your age NamaChan." Giggled Izayoi.

"No, she's just a suck up." Replied the siblings.

"Hey!" Yelled Nama.

Everyone just laughed again, and continued to walk to the castle. All of them were silent, except for Inuyasha and Sealii, who were chatting away. Zenzuishi, who was at the very back of the group, stared at his sister and Inuyasha like they were nuts. He didn't know someone could talk that much in 10 seconds. Occasionally you could hear the mother's giggling about something. And the siblings just kept their eyes infront of them. After what seemed like only 2 minutes, the small group made it to the huge castle. Sealii's eyes grew wide, the castle was huge, with many sections, and many visible gardens.

"My sons are quite the landscapers. They both designed the gardens." Izayoi bragged.

"Wow, this place is beautiful IzayoiSan." Commented Mizumi.

"Yes IzaSan, this place is wonderful!!! And you helped landscape the gardens Inuyasha?" Sealii asked him excitedly.

"Yeah..." Inuyasha replied, blushing and looking at his feet.

"Sugoii! (cool) " Cried Sealii.

"Domo.... (thanks) " Inuyasha again said, looking at his feet.

"C'mon, I'll show you around." Izayoi ushered everyone inside, so she could show the kitsune family around, when they ran into a somewhat tall silver haired, elf like eared, cold amber eyed inu youkai.

"IzayoiSan, who are they?" Asked the boy.

"Oh Sesshomaru, these people have just come here, their father rules the Northern lands, I'm sure your father must know him. Well besides that fact, they are staying here with us for a while." Sesshomaru just looked at her, nodded and then turned around to go down another hallway.

"Mean...." Muttered Inuyasha.

"Now, now Inuyasha. *giggle* Well, now let's get going. Oh and after we finish this little tour, you all may choose a room in which you feel comfortable in. My husband should be back soon, so you'll get to meet him. I must warn you though, he may look a little intimidating, but he's a real sweet heart." Iza laughed.

"Yeah, my dad's the greatest!" Inuyasha yelled out.

"Nuh uh! My dad's the best!" Returned Sealii.

"Now otome (daughter), don't start." Warned her mother.

"Yeah right, my dad is the best in the world." Inuyasha said, turning and crossing his arms.

"My dad could kick your dad's butt in two seconds flat!" Sealii yelled, her hands flying in the air.

"Yeah well, my dad could kick your dad's butt in one second flat!"

"Come now you two, calm down, I'm sure both are equally matched." Interrupted Iza.

"You're right IzaSan, both our dad's are awesome! No matter what!" The mother's laughed at the young kitsune girls outlook on things, she was always so positive.

'Man, she really is positive, once they leave I know OkaaSan is going to tell me to be more like Sealii. She's cute though, whoa wait, the heck am I thinking? Girls are nasty, and the only thing they do is whine and cry. I really need some air.' "OkaaSan, I'm going to walk around in the gardens." His mother nodded and he wandered off.

"KaaSan where's Tantan?" Sealii asked from nowhere.

"Tantan?" Questioned Iza.

"Yeah Tantan, she's our family's guardian, or at least she informs us of things we need to know. She's so adorable though. She's a brown rabbit with tiger stripes, she kind of looks like a brown tiger with a white puffy tail.^.^ Each of my children have also, somewhere along the line, found an animal youkai or hanyou friend." Replied Mizumi.

"Oh, sounds cute. And how nice." Laughed Iza.

"IzaSan, I saw a small empty room over there. Why is it empty? And can I use that one to sleep in?" Asked the little kitsune, pointing to the open door.

"That's where Sesshomaru normally meditates, but if you ask him I'm sure he won't mind." Replied the mother.

"Oh, I like to meditate too. It's fun!" Such a strange child she was.

"Hehe, yes I suppose, Sesshomaru will meditate hours at a time." Very strange children indeed.

And then a certain scent caught Sealii's nose, "KaaSan! TouSan (dad, father, can also be Ootou-san) is here!!!" Out of nowhere, Sealii shot down the hall and to the entrance of the castle, and when she stopped, her eyes full of happyness, soon turned to sadness and worry. "OkaaSan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Sealii shrieked with horror. Mizumi's head shot up, her daughter never said that unless it was really bad or important.

Both mother's and the siblings ran to the entrance, only to see Sealii in her TouSan's arms crying and looking at him worriedly. His whole chest was covered in blood, and there were lots of cuts streaming down his face, arms and legs, and his clothes were barely hanging on. Both the mother's gasped and Zenzuishi nearly fainted. It vexed Mizumi to hell on why none of them noticed the scent of the blood. Izayoi yelled to Sealii to find her sons, and to get them to find bandages, herbs, and ointments. Faster then the speed of light, the little girl ran to find Inuyasha and Sesshomaru. She knew both their scents already, and it wasn't hard to find them, even if there were thousands of the servants scents to sift through.

"Inuyasha!!!" The dog eared hanyou turned, and looked at the girl who was running towards him crying, curiously. "Inuyasha you have to help!!! My TouSan came back, but is badly hurt!!!" Inuyasha dropped the little red ball that was in his hands.

"Don't worry I know what to do. Just go find Sesshomaru, though he probably already knows." Inuyasha ran off to go find the bandanges and herbs, since his mother didn't allow him near the ointments.

With that Sealii ran to find Sesshomaru anyways, and when she did find him, she saw him carrying ointments, he looked at her, nodded, and ran towards the direction of the entrance to the castle. Sealii followed quickly behind him, tears threatening to fall. She tried to remember what her TouSan had always told her. "Otome, always be strong for your family, no matter what ok?" His words rang in her head ever since that day he first said them. She prayed to KamiSama that he would be ok, and wouldn't die. When she finally arrived at the entrance, her mother had taken off her dad's gi, and was carefully wiping and disinfecting the wounds on his chest, stomach, shoulders, back, arms, and face. When she came closer, her dad looked weakly up at her and smiled. He gave her a small thumbs up before Mizumi took his arms to bandange them. Sealii sighed, she knew what the thumb's up meant, it meant that he knew everything was going to be ok. Wiping the tears from her eyes that had escaped, she walked over to her siblings, who were standing just outside the door. They all looked at her, concern on their faces. But they lightened up when she gave them the thumbs up message. Inuyasha too, was soon sent out, leaving the mother's and Sesshomaru to fix up the kitsune father.

The siblings, though still worried, tried to look like nothing was bothering them. But they couldn't get it out of their mind, what could have done something like that to their father? The strong kitsune man wasn't easy to hurt, let alone take down. His long claws were an awesome offense and his toothy grin could scare a dragon away. His long black hair was thrown into a ponytail, showing his dangerous piercing green eyes. Nothing about their father was weak, nothing, yet something had obviously gotten to him, and wasn't intimidated by him either. Matter-of-fact, it was a known fact, to Queshinta at least, that the Four Lords of the Earth, were all fierce looking, and terrifying. He also knew they all had tremendous power, and unlimited power compared to other demons. Namaiki was thinking, maybe another kingdom was attacking the Northern lands, but knew it couldn't be so, since a peace treaty had been signed between the Four Lords. Kitai, being the wild person that she was, thought it only that it was someone looking to kick ass. While somehow Zenzuishi knew it had nothing to do with the Four Lords. Even little Sealii knew it was nothing to do with them, but other than that, both of them were lost. But the most puzzling piece to this puzzle, (no pun intended) was that none of them could smell the scent of blood.

Just then, a scent familier to Inuayasha and Sesshomaru, floated over the premesis. Inuyasha ran, yelling, "My OotouSan is home now!" What seemed like only minutes later after Inuyasha had dissapeared to find his dad, a strong looking man, with long white hair in a pony tail, dangerous looking amber eyes, a fluffy thing flopped over his shoulder, claws, fangs and elf like ears, appeared carrying a smiling Inuyasha. The man looked at the five siblings and smiled. Sealii didn't know why his wife had said he looked intimidating, he looked nice to her. But maybe, she thought, it was because of the way he was holding his son, and the way his son smiled while being held.

"You must be Sealii." He spoke to the littlest kitsune child, in his deep powerful voice, "Inuyasha has told me what has happened, I shall assist your mother. You were very responsible in getting my sons young one." With that he smiled, put Inuyasha down next to Zenzuishi, and walked inside, at least an hour had passed before they began talking.

"You're TouSan is cool looking Inuyasha. and I wanna lay on that fluffy thing... It looks comfortable..." Sealii said sheepishly.

"I told you my OotouSan was awesome." Replied Inuyasha.

"Yup you told us InuChan."

"Sealii, don't call me Chan, I'm not a girl, if anything call me Kun, or just Inuyasha." Inuyasha said plainly.

"Gomenasai InuyashaKun. I'm just worried." She replied.

"But he's going to be fine Sealii." Answered Kitai.

"I know, but who would want to attack our TouSan? More importantly, besides the other lords, how the heck could someone even touch our TouSan?" She questioned.

"Don't wonder about it now Sealii, you'll start to think to much and you won't know when you're called upon." Nama said.

"Why do you say that?" Sealii asked confusedly.

"Because Inuyasha's OotouSan is right behind you, and has been trying to get your attention for the last ten minutes." Came Zenzuishi's voice.

"Oh.... Um... InuSan, what is it you need with me?" Curiously asked Sealii.

"You're father wishes to speak to you." The Inu lord smiled and offered his hand to the little girl, who merely stared at him for the moment, after the small shock, she grabbed his hand, and he lead her to her father, who was laying down in a large room, across from the small one Sealii had seen ealier.

"Ah, Sealii, it's nice to know you have been strong for you're family. I knew you could be." Weakly, her father's voice spoke.

"I wouldn't dissapoint you TouSan. How are you feeling now?" Sealii asked quietly.

"Much better, I will tell you what happened later, but how are you and your siblings? You all holding up ok? No one attacked you while you were on your way right?" Her father acted more like a kid then Sealii herself did.

"No, we were safe, everyone knows better then to mess with the family of a Lord." Piped up the little girl.

"That's the optimism that I needed to hear. Unfortuately, someone was stupid enough to try, but I'll get into that later. So do you know where Tantan is? I would like to speak with her." Her father said, changing the subject.

"I don't know where she is, but I'm sure she's sensed you by now, and is probably on her way at the moment. I wouldn't be surprised if she was at the door right now." Sure enough, just as Sealii had stated, the usagi known as Tantan was at the door.

Inuyasha's father had went to the door to see who it was, seeing the confusion, Tantan told the inu lord who she was. In return the inu lord allowed her passing. While watching her hop towards the room, Namaiki asked the inu father his name, he replied, "Inutaisho." Sealii and her father were still talking once Tantan entered the room.

"Dear lord! What happened to you Lord Keimikoto (name meaning strong lord) ?" Asked the bewildered usagi youkai.

"Sealii will you leave the room now please? And no eavesdropping. I know you do that sometimes." She was about to argue, but thought better of it, so she exited the room, and made her way back to her siblings.

On the way out, she passed the mother's and Sesshomaru. They all asked her how her father was doing, well the mother's did, Sesshomaru just nodded to her and walked off. Once outside again, Inyasha was the first to ask how her father was, and who that usagi was. Sealii explained both to him and the siblings, and they all exclaimed, "Oh, ok, that's good." It almost made Sealii laugh, five people saying the same exact thing at the same exact time. It was just too funny, but now, the kitsune girl really couldn't even muster a small giggle. Seeing this, Zenzuishi walked over to her and hugged her, and told Sealii everything was going to be fine, and that she shouldn't worry. It was all too common, that Sealii was the hyperactive one of the siblings, and when she didn't laugh her ass off, you knew something was wrong. Meanwhile back in the room with Keimikoto and Tantan...

"So what was it that attacked you My lord?" Asked the little usagi.

"I don't know exactly, it was a shapeshifter, and I didn't see it's true form." The pained expression on his face told the usagi that he was concentrating hard on remembering.

"Have you any clue why he attacked you My Lord?" Returned Tantan.

"He said something about my father being unfair to him or something. Enslaving his family, beating his wife while she was pregnant, but my father never did things like that. I know he didn't." Replied the exausted kitsune.

"Aye, I've known your father forever, a good man he was, I know for a fact that he had never done such a thing in his life." Confidently Tantan stated.

"Tantan, can I ask you to make sure Sealii doesn't hear any of this? I know she'll take it the wrong way or take it to seriously, and I'm afraid if she does hear it, she'll do something that could get her hurt, or worse.... Killed. Oh and Tantan, can you send in my mate?" There was a long silence.

"Of course, I will make sure she hears nothing of it. And yes of course, it would be my pleasure. " With that, Tantan left the room, and went to the mother's.

"Tantan, how is he?" Asked Mizumi.

"He is fine now, he asks to see you Mi lady. He says he misses your smile dearly." Returned Tantan.

She merly nodded and walked over and into the room, "So your Tantan? I expected you to be smaller. *giggle* " Giggled Izayoi.

"Aye Mi Lady, I am an usagi youkai, but I am quite large for one. I take no offense to your thoughts. But may I be so kindly excused? I need to inform the children of their father's condition." Returned Tantan.

"So he's better now?" Questioned Izayoi.

"Yes, much better now thanks to your quick reflexes and know-how of how to disinfect and bandage. I give you my thanks from the whole family, to your kind and quick save of My Lord." With that, she bowed and hopped outside, meanwhile in the room with the lord and his mistress.

"So you're ok now Koi?" Aske Mizumi, as she knelt down near the kitsune lord, and wrapped herself in his arms.

"Yes, I am much better now, thanks to you and Izayoi. I feel better already. I missed you dearly MizuKoi. All I could think about as I made my way here, was you and our children..." He was about to go on but Mizumi stopped him.

"Stop talking and get some rest." She smiled and laid her head on his chest, he smiled also and fell asleep, both of them did.

A while later, Iza became worried, and decided to check in on the couple. She walked to the room, and cracked open the door, she smiled at what she saw, Keimikoto laying down on the futon, with his mate Mizumi sleeping happily in his arms. She almost cried out, "Kawaii!" But thought better of it, and kept quiet. She began to back out of the door way to shut the door, when she felt two strong arms wrap around her waist. She looked behind her, and smiled at the strong inu youkai holding her. He smiled back, and told her how pround he was to have such a wonderful mate. Izayoi merely smiled, and peeked through the still cracked open door, Keimikoto's foot twitched, and Mizumi laughed. It was just to damn cute, to think, they have five kids, yet they still acted like they found new love. Then again, Izayoi knew she and her husband, also acted like they were in love for the first time, though they hadn't been together as long as the kitsune couple.

Unbeknowest to them, Sesshomaru had been watching them, from right infront of their eyes. Once Inutaisho noticed this, he gave his son a curious look as if asking, "Nani? (what?)" Sesshomaru just stared back, as if saying, "You need to ask?" Shaking his head, Sesshomaru walked past them, and out the door, where everyone gave a startled gasp, by this time, Tantan had left, good thing, because Seshhomaru just looked at the kitsune children, and Inuyasha with a cold glare, and motioned for them to follow him. Inuyasha of course didn't have to, since he knew Sesshomaru was just showing them to their rooms, but he followed anyways.

"SesshomaruSama, may I ask, where are we going?" Politely Namaiki asked.

"I'm showing you to your rooms." Sesshomaru said planely.

"Sesshy! I found a room that I think is cool! It's that real small one! May I please use it? It'll help me meditate easier with such a small room. Onegai (please) can I onegai, onegai, onegai onegai, use it?" Sealii gave him the biggest puppy dog eyes she could muster.

"..." Sesshomaru stayed quiet, but then pointed to the room, telling her she could go ahead and use it.

"DOMO ARIGATOU SESSHY!!!!!!!!!!!!" The little kitsune girl grabbed onto Sesshomaru's leg.

Inuyasha sweat dropped, and looked as though he was trying to go and pry her off his leg. Sesshomaru just stared at her coldly, and waited for his brother to pry her off. Inuyasha finally got her off, and pushed her towards her room, while the other's followed Sesshomaru. Once they both stepped into the room, Inuyasha closed the door, and when he turned around, Sealii was sitting indian style on the futon, meditating. Inuyasha thought to himself, 'Wow, she was really serious about that.' Deciding that he should let her concentrate, he was about to leave the room when he heard a small whimper.

"Something wrong?" Inuyasha inquired.

"I-Inuyasha, can you please stay for a little bit? I get kind of... How should I say... Scared when I'm somewhere new for the first time if I'm alone.... So can you please, just stay here till I fall asleep? My mom and dad will know why you're here if they come to check up on me." She whimpered again and gave him the puppy dog eyes.

Inuyasha sighed, "Ok, only since you're a scardy cat."

"First off... I'm not a scardy cat, it's just a new place, and it's unfamiliar, second, you know it's nice to have someone around who knows the lay of the land." She said crossing her arms.

"I guess that's true... It's nice to have a friend that's like me." Inuyasha admited.

"People don't acceptt you either?" She said, a hint of sadness in her voice.

"Yeah, but I don't know why." He saw the look Sealii gave him when he said this, and wondered why, but thought it best not to ask.

"Will you look at us? *giggle* We're acting way too mature for our age. ^.^ We should be talking about games and stuff." She stated, quickly changing the subject.

"Hey Sealii, do you think you'll have to go back to your home any time soon." Inuyasha wondered allowed.

"I really don't know, in a way I hope so, I miss the village, but then again...." She stopped.

"But then again what?" He asked further.

"If we leave, then I'll have to face the kids in my village again, and they try to kill me... Yet here, I have someone who goes through the same thing, and here I have someone to help out in situations like that.... Do they try and kill you?" Sealii asked, knowing the answer she'd get.

"Yeah... But I still don't know why. I'm always nice to them, and don't complain when they steal my stuff." He was intterupted.

"Well see, there we go, we can help protect eachother when the villagers try something like that. Sides, I like you, you're a good friend, I wanna stay here for a while." She said smiling.

Inuyasha blushed slightly, "You're a good friend too, and it will be nice to have someone run away with me when the villagers attack me."

"Who knows, maybe with two of us, maybe they won't attack." She said hopefully, yeah that was her, full of so much hope.

"You're optimismic aren't you?" He asked.

"Say wha? optimismic?" @.@

"Not optimismic, sorry, brain went dead there for a moment. I meant optimistic." He replied.

"Oh! Ok! Yeah I guess I am." She said smiling.

"Why?" Where this was going, neither of them knew.

"I guess, it's just when things get bad, which they normally do, people lose hope, and I'm the one they look to, when they wanna hear someone say it's going to be ok. Even if it is a little kid." She explained.

"I see, I don't think I could be THAT optimistic, but I can be somewhat like that. Most of the time my OkaaSan won't let me talk to anyone when times of crisis are around. I think she thinks they blame me..." Sadness dripped in his voice.

"Aww, but that isn't true! I don't know exactly why they hate us, but I think it's because they haven't given us a chance!" She yelled with excitment.

"But OkaaSan said we shouldn't have to prove our worth, that we shouldn't have to prove anything, well she told me I didn't have too." He answered.

"True.... I guess your KaaSan is right. We don't have to prove anything. I guess then, they'll just learn the hard way that we are nice and stuff." She said, optimism in her voice, as per usual.

"I guess. Aren't you tired at all?" He asked rubbing his eyes.

"Nope, not at all.... Oh but if you're tired, you can go if you absolutely want to..." She said, the slightest trace of a whimper in her voice.

"Oh it's ok, you can't stay up forever right? Besides, my room isn't much different from this one." He returned.

"True, I probably won't be up much longer." With that said, they continued to talk for a little bit.

It seemed like hours had passed, and Inuyasha's eyes were drooping badly, he was so tired. Yet he could see, barely, that Sealii was still sitting there, smile on her face, meditating. It wasn't long before he just couldn't take it and he fell asleep. A couple of minutes later, Sealii noticed this, found an extra blanket, and placed it over the sleeping inu hanyou. Then she walked over to her futon and fell asleep too.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Izayoi, and Mizumi had been listening in on their whole entire conversation, while their husbands talked in the other room. They surpressed their giggles, and stopped tears from falling when they touched on subjects of that sort of air. Mizumi almost lost it when she saw her youngest daughter walk over to Inuyasha and place the blanket over him, the look she gave him was just too adorable. But Izayoi clammped her hand over Mizumi's mouth, which sounded a muffled thanks. Once the kitsune girl too was asleep, Mizumi shut the cracked door, and they left down the corridoor. The two women continued to talk, when Inutaisho joined them in the halls.
"Hello MizumiSan, it's been a pleasure talking to your mate again. Funny guy that one is." He said laughing lightly.
"Is he asleep again?" Mizu asked.
"Yes, he said that he was quite tired." He said, almost like he was curious as to how she knew he was asleep, then almost mentally kicked his ass for forgetting about the conncetions mates had with one another.
"*giggle* It figures, little Sealii is asleep too now. They always fall asleep at the same time, well most of the time anyways." She said giggling.
"Really? Never heard that before. Oh well, you're little Sealii is a very courageous girl MizuSan. If I was in her place, seeing my dad like that, I would have passed out." He said, giving a light chuckle.
"That's my little girl, she can't keep anything in, unless it's a secret." Mizu laughed.
"Omg, wasn't that just the most adorable thing though MizuSan?" Asked Iza excitedly.
"Oh yes, so very adorable!!!" Returned Mizu.
"What are you two talking about?" Asked Inutaisho.
"Follow me Koi, we'll show you. Well more or like tell you but, you have to see this for yourself." Iza smiled at the confused look on the inu youkai's face.
But he did as he was told and followed the women back to the room, as Mizu told him about what they heard and saw. And just as Iza thought, he did the same exact things they did at the same times, or at least when he heard certain parts, like about villagers trying to kill them, he almost cried, well he did tear up. And then he got a determined look on his face, he hadn't know the villagers attacked his son. Knowing this he knew he couldn't just scare the villagers away, that'd make them think his son weak. So he decided he'd give his youngest son defense lessons. Anyways, when they reached the room, Iza had to hide her face in her mates chest to keep herself from yelling out.
"Oh... My... God.... That is so-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o adorable!" Mizu squeeked quietly.
"Yes it is, IzaKoi, are you ok?" Inutaisho asked.
"If I look at them again I'm going to yell so-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o loud I could awaken the whole entire earth." Returned Iza.
The other two merely laughed softly, the sight was one of the cutest you would ever see. There on the futon was Sealii, sitting there curled up and shivering slightly, but Inuyasha was right there, sitting in an upright position, holding her. Mizu smiled, and Iza took a deep breath, where Inutaisho just smiled like tomorrow he was going to get the best news ever.
"So would this mean they're destined?" Asked Iza.
"I would believe so Koishii. I believe so." Inutaisho said still smiling away.
"This is great, I am honored to have your son be destined to be my youngest daughters mate." Mizumi squeeked again.
"Same here MizuSan. I had a feeling when I saw her, but I didn't think it was true. But I wouldn't have anyone else, Sealii truly is a wonderful person." Inutaisho replied.
"Oh, this is so exciting, when do you think they will find out?" Asked Iza.
"Sooner or later, I mean, they can't stay oblivious to fate forever." Returned Mizu.
"I suppose so." Iza said smiling.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Over the next few months, Mizumi's family still wasn't able to return home. So the kitsune family was stuck with the Inu family. Which set really well with Sealii and Inuyasha. The two went around town together, and helped eachother out when they were attacked. And when they were alone, and away from eachother, they met at a secret spot, since they had awesome hearing, they could hear when the other was in trouble. The other kitsune children, began to see the bond between them, but thought it best that they see it themselves before being told that anyone else saw it. And over the thirteen years that they were there, they did begin to see it. 5, both of them were 5 at the time the kitsune family arrived, and now 13 years later, both were now 18. Keimikoto had gone on a trip about 12 years ago, and on his trip, he made his way back to the kitsune family's home. When he arrived, he found everything destroyed, a passing far off villager told him that there had been a fire, and a powerful demon had attacked. The village wasn't exactly Northern territory, but he did protect it. So why was it that he wasn't able to protect it from this? So the kitsune family stayed with the inu family. Letting Inuyasha and Sealii see, just what was there. Though, everyday, they pretended like nothing was there. Like it was all just something they imagined, and like it wasn't important. Hell, they were only 18, they still had the rest of their lives to find someone they liked, right?

And as those 13 years rolled by, Inuyasha began to notice, that the male villagers began to accept Sealii even though she was, what she was. Sealii didn't at all like it, and when they tried something, Inuyasha was always there to knock them back. Both of them knew why it was she was accepted, it was because she was a girl. The male villagers figured since she was such, she was weaker. But in truth, that was far from it, Sealii was actually stronger then most of the other demons that surrounded the village, hell she had to, since they didn't like hanyous. Besides, it wasn't like Inuyasha was going to let Sealii be taken by some human. And it wasn't like Sealii would let herself be taken. On occasion though, a kind human would ask for her hand in marriage, and her excuse for this always was, "I'm sorry, but I am taken by Inuyasha." Everytime this happened, Inuyasha went along with it, until he didn't have to. When no one was looking, he'd yell at her for that. She would only smile, and say, "Well I didn't want to be rude to him, so I made that excuse." In the end, she had always quelled his fierce temper. A lot had happened in those 13 years the kitsune family had been there. Only a couple months after they came, Inutaisho was killed, marking the point were Inuyasha had limited memories of his father. Soon after, his mother had died, and Sesshomaru had become the ruler of the western lands.

He didn't particularly like having the kitsune family, or Inuyasha in his home, but he thought it his father's wish that he keep them safe until they left, besides, it wasn't like they weren't paying their dues, by cleaning and finding their own food. The coming years were non too bright either. Mizumi became sick, and Kei was under so much stress, he paced around for hours and couldn't think of why he was doing it. Mizumi tried to tell him to go and take care of himself, tried to tell him that she had Nama's healing skills to help herself. But this didn't bode well, Kei became more and more distraught with the world, and it eventually destroyed him. When Sealii had turned 14, he died. Mizumi, at the time, was still sick, and for at least 1 year, hadn't gotten out of bed, until she died, right after Sealii and Inuyasha had turned 15. There was nothing more the family's had, all their parents were gone, and the where abouts of their grandparents were unknown. If they were alive or dead, non of them knew. Inuyasha helped his friends when they were sad, or at least he tried. But most of the time he seemed to make things worse. In the end though, the kitsune's realized he was just trying to help. Zenzuishi would mainly stick to helping the servants clean Sesshomaru's house when he was sad or depressed, Nama and Tai would take long walks to nowhere, and sometimes wouldn't return till the next day. Queshinta seemed to be the worst though, he would often walk around talking to himself. He did this until Nama literally slapped some sense into him.

"Damn it Queshinta!" She slapped his face, "This is how we lost our father! We can't lose you too! You have to be strong for your family ok NiiSan?" She asked, gripping her heart, like it was about to torn out.

Queshinta just stared at her for a minute, like he was surprised that she dared to strike the son of a great kitsune demon, before he realized she was the eldest from the same father. "I'm sorry, OneeSan..." Was all he got out, before he returned to his normal self.

However, Queshinta and also Namaiki were the only ones who became normal again within those years. Everyone else remained in terrmoil, Nama, Inuyasha, and Ques tried to help, but nothing seemed to work. But the most they could do, was just keep them happy enough so that they wouldn't do anything stupid. Nama, was now the new lord of the northern lands, and she knew she had to stay strong for her family. But she also knew, that a lot of the times her siblings would need her, she would be away at some meeting of the lords or some crap like that. Namaiki had to fight to become the new lord of the northern lands, like her father had intended, but the other's still didn't like the idea. A woman had never been a lord before, and it was a new concept that they really didn't feel like getting into. But they really had no choice, but still fought it. Eventually, Nama was appointed Lord of the Northern lands, and that was that. Aside from that, things between Sealii and Inuyasha were getting a little, how to put it, rusty? One day, while trying to get his hands on the Shikon Jewel, or Shikon No Tama, Inuyasha met the priestess named Kikyo, who had repeatedly subdued him, but didn't kill him like she should have. This made Inuyasha curious as to why she did this, in the end, they became friends, both thinking they found love, acceptance, and company, when all they found was company. Sealii didn't mind Kikyo, the woman was very nice, but it had changed Inuyasha, he acted like he was angry with everyone, and when a villager came onto Sealii, he said he didn't give a damn.

This hurt Sealii very much, and the siblings became worried for their sister. This relationship between Inuyasha and Kikyo could only bode unwell for them all. And eventually, it did, not even months later, after Inuyasha had decided to protect Kikyo, had she asked him to become human so she could become an ordinary woman. When Inuyasha told her about it, this sent Sealii over the edge. Inuyasha and Sealii were both sitting on a rock in their secret spot. They were sitting next to eachother, Sealii's head on Inuyasha's shoulder.

"Hey Sealii, can I tell you something?" Asked Inuyasha, on a clear starry night.

"Yeah sure Inuaysha. What is it that you wanna tell me?" Asked the curious kitsune, picking her head up from Inuyasha's shoulder.

"Kikyo asked me to become human." He said plainly.

"..." Sealii just looked at him, sadness in her eyes, her lip quivering, tears wanting to fall, but she wouldn't let them.

"It's a chance to fit in finally, I'm going to take the chance Sealii." This horrified the kitsune, that he said this so seriously.

"You can't do that Inuyasha! What about not caring what others thought?! What about letting them learn the hard way to accept us? What about making sure those humans don't come onto me? How are you going to help me if you can't even kick their asses? What about me Inuyasha?! I thought that...." She stopped midsentence, her tears beginning to flow freely, when she saw the expression on Inuaysha's face had not changed.

"You'll have to deal with it on your own, besides, even if I do become human, I can still beat up any other human." He replied.

"Did you ever think, how this was going to effect everyone else around you? What about my siblings? Don't you care about their opinion? What about your mother? What would she say if she saw you becoming human because you didn't want to not fit in?" She yelled.

"Don't bring my mother into this. And all the rest of that is your guy's problem not mine." Inuyasha yelled back.

"Well then, did you even try to think of what it might cost me Inuyasha?" She asked, her voice and anger subsiding.

"What do you mean Sealii?" He asked, truly confused.

"Never mind, if you don't know by now, or want to admit anything, then it's obvious you really don't care." With that, Sealii turned tail and walked away, leaving Inuyasha to his aching heart, and mind.

"Gomenasai Sealii..." He said into the now empty space where his best friend had been, "But I just want to be able to fit in for once." And with that, he walked away towards Kaede Village.

That night, when Sealii had returned to Sesshomaru's house, she told her siblings what Inuyasha planned to do. The siblings didn't know what to say, but gave her a reassuring hug, before she went to sleep. After they knew she was asleep, (they had went to check on her every ten minutes) they began a very serious conversation.

"We can't stay here forever, it's destroying our family." Started Queshinta.

"I agree, it's already taken our parents, we can't let it take our lil sis too." Agreed Tai.

"Don't forget Inuyasha and Sesshomaru have also lost their parents." Defended Zenzuishi.

"Look, we're all just hurting right now, we need to just calm down and think things through before deciding anything. And we need to do it as a family. That includes having Sealii here, whether she wants to hear or not." Namaiki, stated firmly.

"Yeah, we all have our own problems, and it will help to share them allowed." Agreed Zenzuishi.

"Nama, have you told Komoku(Nama's animal friend) about any of this?" Asked Queshinta.

"Yes, I told him about father, and mother, and Inuyasha's parents also. But.. He can't come here, not for a while. Besides, I'm busy with the other lords most of the time." Returned Nama.

"Well, at least you have someone to confide in Nama, you're lucky to have Sesshomaru as a mate at times like this." Zenzuishi said, a bit depressed.

"Don't worry brother, you'll find a mate. But, what should we do right now, by ourselves?" Questioned Nama.

"Don't look at me." Said Tai.

"I suggest, we wait until tomorrow to think things through. Right now we should get rest." Suggested Queshinta.

"Good idea, I'm wiped anyhow. Night all, love ya like I miss the numbness in my butt." Kitai said as she walked out of the room stretching.

"That's nice Tai." Sighed Zen.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kitai walked into her room, and plopped down onto her bed. Yeah, she was the wild one, the one that didn't give a damn, but in reality, she really did. She cared more then she let on, but she acted differently so she could be strong for her family. Matter-of-fact, her rebelliousness was a natural part of her yes, but it also served to hide the fact that she was worried. Kitai looked up at the ceiling, everyone had changed since they left home. Namaiki had become more serious, not that she already hadn't been serious. Queshinta learned and studied more. Zenzuishi and Sealii were still the free spirited idiots they always were, and Kitai herself, well, had become more of a worry wort. This happened because of two things, 1, she had become aware of the fact, that Sealii and Zenzuishi were way depressed, and hadn't seemed like themselves. 2, she had on occasion, walked in on Inuyasha comforting Sealii, and it always seemed to make things worse for her, and it worried Kitai. Though she knew Inuyasha was only trying to help. But him seeing that Kikyo person wasn't setting well for her.
Trying not to think of these kind of things, she gritted her fangs, squeezed her eyes shut, covered her ears, and rolled into a ball. Kitai tried her best to not think about those things, hell, she had her own things to worry about. Like someday finding her own mate, and whether she was going to start a family or not. She also had to worry about someone trying to get their hands on her father's five fangs. It was normal, for the Lord of the land, to leave behind some kind of gift for his child/children after he had passed on. And so it was with their father, he had left behind five fangs, one for each of his children. Kitai's was really unique, it was a cross from twin blades, to num-chucks. The blades looked somewhat like this: Held together by the strongest chain you could find, the hilt of the blades are a glissening white, the blades themselves are jagged and ruff, but very effective in battle, and strong.
The blades were also very long, and the hilts are able to be put together to make a double bladed spear. Yeah, that was the weapon their father had left ot Kitai. To her, it was the best one, and everytime she held it, she felt closer to her father. Their mother also left them behind something. She left them behind a special fang, one that wasn't used as a weapon, but more of just a reminder of their mother. She gave them all something different. She gave Kitai an auburn colored choker type necklace (did they even have those types of things back then?) with small beads and fangs threaded into it. the beads were a midnight purple, and the fangs, pearly white. Kitai cherrished it, and wore it all day everday since she recieved it from her animal ookami (wolf) friend Ikosusama (fierce one) . Their mother had given her childrens gift's to their animal friends, so she knew that when they visited, her siblings would also get their gifts.
"Lady Kitai, what's troubling you now?" Asked, a small quiet voice from the corner.
"Oh, it's nothing to worry about right now Iko, I'm more worried about Sealii and them." Returned Kitai.
The brown wolf came out of the corner, and sat in Kitai's lap, "My Lady, you shouldn't worry so. It will destroy you if you worry so much. And we can't have that."
"You're right. Maybe I'll feel better after some sleep." With that, Kitai laid down and went to sleep, Ikosusama watching over her.
"Sleep well, Lady Kitai, you'll need all your strength to help keep your family alive." And soon, Iko was out also.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"I still say we shouldn't stay here anymore, but I suppose, it would be best for all of us if we do." Came Ques voice.

"Yes, this place is like home, and this is where our hearts are. Or so that saying goes." Said Nama.

"I still miss our village though, that was our true home. I wonder still, who destroyed it? And for what reason would that peron or youkai have for attacking it? No one there has ever done a bad deed ever. Everyone there was happy as could be in these times." Stated the frustrated kitsune.

"True, I miss our village too, but there is nothing we can do about it right now. We have discovered a very powerful demon, it is said he is a shapeshifter, probably the same one that attacked father all those years ago. Anyways, to the point, this demon is attacking villages and destroying them, leaving no trace to pick up on who did it. My feeling is, that this phycho is trying to prove something to us. Or tell us something at least, like maybe he's coming for the Four Lords soon or something. But, if you decide to go out alone Ques, I want you to exercise extreme caution. You don't know when or where this phycho will pop up." Nama told her younger brother.

"Got it Nama, I'll pass it on to the others. So, what do you think this demon has against us? I'm pretty sure he's mainly after us. I mean he did directly attack our father." Questioned Queshinta.

"I don't know, I don't believe for a second what father told us, that our grandfather was abusive to his family, but we really have no proof. You guys never really met him, and I only got to see him so many times. Mostly when I was too little to remember him. But maybe our grandfather was like that." Nama suggested sadly.

"Don't even say that Nama! You know he wasn't like that, whether we knew him or not!" Yelled Queshinta, a servent popped his head in to see what the commotion was all about, but then quickly receeded when he saw the angry stare Ques gave him.

"Ques, you really must not take your anger out on the servents here. That is not for you to do, besides it's not kind." Stated Nama.

"I'm sorry Nama, I'm just frustrated, Inuyasha has me so pissed off right now, but I know that's no excuse. And I know you're right." He sat back down.

"You know Queshinta, I'm not always right. Half the time I am right it's only because you help me think things through. I owe a lot of things to you OniiSan." Nama said, hugging her brother.

"Domo arigatou NamaNee." Replied Ques, hugging back.

"Iie, thank you Queshinta."

"Ok awkward moment, let go of me onegai?" Whined Ques.

"Sure, well anyways, I don't have to go to any meetings with the other Lords for a while, they all have to protect their land, or at least make sure it's secure. So we'll take that time to talk things through." Stated Nama.

"Good idea, maybe, somehow we can talk some sense into that hard head of Inuyasha's. Because we need to stay here, for Sealii's sake." Ques said worriedly.

"I know, I'm just hoping he is willing to listen..." Nama said, to the space next to her, that Inuyasha normally sat in. (they're in like a dining room or something and they always sit at the same spots it goes Nama head, right shoulder Inuyasha, Sealii, Zenzuishi, left shoulder, Kitai, Queshinta, and Sesshomaru if he ever gets hungry, so far, he's never sat down.)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Inuyasha you're back so early. I'm assuming things went well?" (XD ha! never assume, it makes an ass outta u and me) Said a kind, hollow voice, coming from a small hill.
"Huh? Uh, no not really. I thought Sealii, of all people would be happy for me, but she wasn't at all happy. I'm sure she's already told her brother's and sister's about it. I'm willing to bet they aren't too satisfied either." Inuyahsa said, his eyes looking at his feet.
"I see, well then, we can wait until you can convince them Inuyasha. You can go back tomorrow and convince the eldest, if you can convince her, the siblings will agree too." Came the hollow voice again.
"I guess, I'm glad I'll finally fit in, and you'll finally get your freedom. The best thing Kikyo..." When he said her name, he felt like something had stabbed his heart, but he ignored it.
"Yes?" Came Kikyo's voice.
"I found someone I loved, and who loved me back." The pain in his chest grew, and was unbearable, but he didn't let the pain show in his face.
Kikyo smiled, a small cold yet warm looking smile, "I'm glad to hear it Inuyasha. I've waited for what seemed like forever for someone to come and save me from this life." As she said each word, they became more meaningless to Inuyasha, for some reason, at that moment, he only cared about what Sealii wanted.
"Yeah...." He was going to say that he was finally saved also, but then thought, what was he being saved from?
Was he being saved from being accepted? No, it wasn't much, but Nama's family had accepted him. Was he being saved from loneliness? No, he always, always had Sealii by his side. Then what was he being saved from? Inuyasha pondered this, as the silence between Kikyo and himself grew. When it hit him, the only think he was being saved from was being truly happy. It hit him like a ton of bricks, Sealii didn't care who, or what he was, she loved him. But he thought again, that she must hate him by now, and probably doesn't even want to be with him anymore. Inuyasha stared down at his feet again, he felt like shit, like he was scum. But how could he fix it? He knew he couldn't, so being with Kikyo was his only chance left for happiness, he couldn't believe he gave up Sealii, to try and be happy with someone else. But he knew it couldn't be helped. So he made a decision in his mind, he was going to talk to the family all at once, well, if Sealii was even there. He figured she'll probably be at their secret spot.
So after this revelation, Inuyasha said good bye to Kikyo, and went back to the house Sesshomaru was only barely letting him stay in.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

He sneaked in, past the halls and doors, until he got to the dining room, when he saw the door cracked open, and Sesshomaru and Nama sitting there drinking tea. Inuyasha, kept looking, only to notice that they were talking. He wondered vaguely what it was they were talking about. But decided, that he didn't care. Just as he was about to walk off, Sesshomaru's cold voice called him into the room.

"Inuyasha."

"Yeah what do you want Sesshomaru." Inuyasha asked walking into the room.

"You're a bigger idiot then I thought. Do you even know what you're giving up so easily?" Asked the inu youkai's curious voice.

"Feh, what the hell do you care, I've made my choice." Inuyasha said, trying to keep the pain in his heart from pouring out.

"Do you not understand what that kitsune is to you Little Brother?" Questioned Sesshomaru.

"What are you talking about?" Inuyasha said, letting his anger rise.

"Can you not feel the connection between you and the youngest kitsune? Do you not know what it means if you still can?" Sesshomaru asked, eyeing the pained look in Inuyasha's eyes with pleasure.

"I uh..." Was all he could get out.

"It's obvious you feel a pain in your heart Inuyasha." Nama spoke up, "And that pain is telling you my sister still loves you, whole-heartedly and completely. I know you love her the same way Inuyasha, and I don't know why you deny it. And I sure as hell have no clue why you would want to become human, when you detest your human side so much." Nama said clearly.

"I uh..."

"Is that all you are going to say Little Brother?" Asked Sesshomaru.

"I don't care, as long as he listens. Inuyasha, I don't know what compelled you to be with Kikyo, and I'm not sure I'll ever see. But know this, if you go through with this, you'll be shaming your family, and you'll break Sealii's heart. I know you don't want either to happen. But if you decide not to become human, know Sealii will always welcome you with open arms. It's not too late to change your mind." Nama was finished now, so she got up, and walked out of the room, the bewildered hanyou staring at her.

"That is all we have to say to you Little Brother. I may not want you to be here, but I respect you enough to make the right decision." With that, Sesshomaru got up and walked out as well.

"I want to make the right decision, but... How can I be sure Sealii still loves me? How can I know she ever did?"

~Conflict of the Mind~

What the hell are you talking about Inuyasha?

What do you mean what am I talking about?

You know what I mean, and you know the true answer.

But how can I be sure?

You idiot! Were you not listening? Nama just told you, that, that pain you feel in your heart now, is the pure sign, that Sealii still loves you. Hell if you ever paid attention then you'd know that means she still wants to be your life mate. Baka.

Why would she still want to be with me after I've been such a baka, as you so kindly put it.

I was putting it mildly so, you're lucky Sealii will still ever look your way. And you really are an ass, for even thinking about being with another person, let alone Kikyo, if she tried, she could purify you, matter of fact, I think she's just using you.

I don't know what to think anymore, you're right, this pain in my heart is a sign that she still loves me.... But why?

But why. Yes that is the question isn't it now? Why don't you ask her tomorrow, a time when you can be alone with her. Maybe your secret meeting place will do. You know the one by the stream, that no one knows about, that has a small island in the middle of the river, which is surrounded by a huge forest, over looked by a cliif and a waterfall. Yeah maybe that place will work, Kami, why am I the one doing the thinking?

You didn't give me the chance to think.

Inuyasha, I don't even know if you have the power to think. (XD probably not, jk.)

Shut the hell up, I can too think. But I will take the advice, I really do need to talk to her. I just hope I don't get another case of deja 'vu. (think back to the time he first talked to Sealii about becoming human for Kikyo. The way they were sitting and everything while talking.)

Probably will!

Shut the hell up, I really need to stop just standing here and walk to my room, but I can't do that and fight with myself at the same time. I might seem like I'm nuts.

Oh, and this hasn't been proven yet?

Shut the hell up...

~End of Conflict of the mind~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That night Zenzuishi couldn't sleep, there was just so many things on his mind, so many things he was hearing from the other rooms. Servants shuffling around, Nama and Sesshomaru talking quietly. And he could have almost have said he heard Inuyasha. He could also hear Kitai talking to Ikosusama, and heard his warning to Kitai. It really was no use, sleep just wouldn't come for the kitsune boy. Sighing, Zenzuishi jumped to his feet, from his laying down, leg over leg position, up to his feet. This little manuever, Zen liked to do, because he was the only one who could do it. In a way, it made him feel superior, but not really. It was just something he could be proud of, though it had no real use. Once standing up, Zensuishi walked out of his room, and down one hall. 13 years in this house and he still didn't know the layout, "How sad." he thought to himself. But he decided to just wander around, like he normally did when he couldn't sleep. No sooner had he started walking when he had definitely heard Inuyasha's voice. He was talking to himself, and it sounded like he was frustrated and angry. Zen guessed he was trying to figure out a way to talk to Sealii. Matter of fact, he was sure that was what he was trying to do. Trying to ignore the lump in his throat that was a laugh, he walked on, and eventually found the entrance to the whole home.
He walked out, and began to wander around the village. He soon left the village and found Sealii where he knew she would be. In reality, he thought, he was trying to find her. Maybe help her think somethings through, or at least try. Both of them knew, if anyone could help, it was Zen. Since they were closest in age, and both were hanyous, though they had youkai parents, they were very much closely knit. They both loved their siblings deeply, but had a deeper connection with eachother then the others. Lingering in his spot just for a moment longer, before walking slowly to his sister, he thought, that for a moment, he'd heard rustling in the bushes, which kept him where he stood. But after realizing it was him, who had stepped on a low branch, had he walked forward, and sat down next to his little sister.
"Hey squirt, you going to be ok?" Zenzuishi asked, concern in his voice.
"Yeah I'll be fine. And do you have to keep calling me 'squirt'? I'm not little anymore." She said, wiping some tears from her eyes.
"Hehe, yeah I guess so, when did you grow up?" He asked jokingly, and she bought into it.
"About a year before you did Zen." She said, giving him a weak smile.
It wasn't the best, but at least he already got her to smile, "Hey, I'm mature! Sort of... But that's not the point. Are you seriously ok? You know you can talk to me about anything! And I mean anything." Finished Zen.
"Thanks, but I think I'll be fine. Just as long as Inuyasha doesn't come near me." She snorted.
"*sigh* C'mon Sea, you know you can't be that way. You have to forgive him, you know he's a dumbass." Zen said, trying to make her laugh.
"He's not a dumbass, he's a jerk!" Sealii yelled, as she turned to look him in the eyes.
"Yes, I suppose that too. But c'mon, I'm sure he's going to try and talk to you sooner or later, so you might as well hear him out. Either that or burst out on him, and tell him whatever, though you know he won't listen. I mean, all these years, it's been you who'd been yelled at, but hadn't listened, now is time to return the favor." It was official, he had no clue what-so-ever where he was going with this anymore, which seemed to humor his sister.
"Ha! You think I'm one for payback? You know me better then that Zenzuishi. Though, in the end, most likely, I will probably lose it and yell everything I have hidden in my heart. Yeah, that's me isn't it? The one who tells people everything they will ever care about." She finished, laughing back a couple of tears.
"You know that's not true. Your family cares about what you say. And so does Inuyasha, he just has odd ways of showing it." He commented.
"Look, can we just not talk about him right now?" She asked, turning her head.
"But that's why you're angry in the first place isn't it?"
"Huh?"
"You're angry because you can't tell him how you feel, because you think he won't care because he has that priestess. But you're wrong Sealii, very wrong, what you have to say, means so much to him, you wouldn't even know!" Zen remembered clearly, the day he found out just how much Sealii meant to Inuyasha, that day, Inuaysah had confided in him.
"Well if that's so true then I should know shouldn't I?!" She yelled, looking him coldly in the face again, "If he cared so much about me, then shouldn't he have told me by now?" She yelled, getting hysterical.
"Calm down, it's not that simple. You know him, he hasn't gotten over his loses yet, none of us have, even over the years, and he was confused, didn't know who to talk to, who to tell. And he thought if he told you, you'd walk away, and leave him, just like his parents have." Zen said sternly, adding, "Though they died."
"That's no excuse Zen! He should know me better then that! He knows he can tell me anything! And he knows I won't walk away!" She said, jumping up to her feet, yelling the last part.
"That's not entirely true though, you haven't been there for him the whole time he's been with that priestess, well, up until yesterday you sort of been there... Not really... I don't know..." Stated Zen, but then he kind of began to trail off.
"Why should I have? That priestess is just using him so she won't have to do her job! She could purify Inuyasha's youkai, and he'd be left human without the damn jewel! Zen she's using him! And you know it, she doesn't love him! I do!! Why can't he see that?!?!!?! Zen, why can't he see that I love him?!!?" She bellowed, sobs escaping her now shaking form.
Zenzuishi hugged her, "It's ok, he didn't want to make things between you awkward." Comforted Zen.
"A lot good his other choice did." Choked Sealii.
"I suppose, but who knows, maybe things could change. Maybe he's thinking over what he's about to do. And maybe he's even changed his mind." Zen said, hugging his little sister.
She laughed sarcastically, "Ha! Him change his mind? Are you kidding? He's never changed his mind about anything unless I dragged him out of whatever it was he was going to do! Nice try Zen, but it didn't work, there's no way he would ever change his mind about this!"
"You don't know that Sealii. He could have already changed his mind! The only reason you're not willing to hear him out on anything because you're afraid!" He was now getting very upset over this, and he knew he'd need to fume for a while after he was done talking with his little sister.
"Afraid of what? Being hurt? Well I'm sorry Zen but that's already happened."
They continued to fight like that for at least an hour. Sealii on occasion, burst into tears of rage, and Zen would try and calm their conversation down. It soon came to Sealii sobbing into her hands, with her brother holding her, comforting her tell her everything was going to be alright. Then he thought to himself, "Inuyasha needs to get good at comforting Sealii and do this himself." When the thought crossed his mind, he almost burst out laughing, but knew to controll it, or he'd bring up just one more thing to argue about.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Inuyasha stepped back, into the darkness of the trees. He had overheard their whole entire conversation. He heard everything Zenzuishi had said, and knew everything he said was right. He had been afraid, of so many things, but none so more then losing Sealii. And he knew he was stupid, for ever thinking Kikyo could give him, what he knew Sealii could give. And then he thought for a moment, "She could have purified me, so she was just using me..." When this crossed him, he thought again, it only figures, and then he had a great idea.

~Conflict of Mind~

It'll work, I know it will.

Are you sure, you're plans tend to backfire in the worst ways.

I'm sure this will work. I mean I'm just going to tell her...

I know what you're going to tell her. Just make sure you don't tell her in an offensive way.

Why the hell would I do that?

One, if she gets an attitude when you ask to talk to her, you'll get one too, two, you can't talk for your life, three, you're a total and complete dumbass.

Oh thanks for the kind insentitives. But I think I'll be ok. Just as long as you don't bother me, I should be fine.

Yeah right, once she tells you she doesn't care about your little plan, you'll get angry and yell and then...

She'll cry, and I'll feel bad, though I'll walk off.

So you already know it's going to backfire.

No it's not, but I know that's happened before.

Yeah and it's bound to happen again.

I'll be surprised if Zen's even given her a reason to listen to me though, it doesn't seem that anything he says has been working. But I have to try, I've screwed up so far, but not enough to where I can't fix it.

Oho! So now the dumbass gets his brain! Wow, this is unexpected!

Oh shut the hell up, and maybe go to hell why you're at it.

No, I quite like keeping your ass out of trouble, or at least trying to.

Well you're not doing a very good job of it.

That's because I deliberately don't try, so maybe you'll start doing things on your own, so I can have a break.

Whatever, Zen is leaving now, I'll be able to talk to her alone now.

~End of Conflict of the Mind~

Zen had finally left, through some bushes south of where Inuyasha was. He sat there for a minute, watching, to see if Sealii would get up or do something, just waited for a sign, telling him that he couldn't talk to her yet. But she just sat there, staring at the sky like something was in it. Taking a deep inhale of breath, Inuyasha silently walked over to Sealii, his flash of deja'vu coming just as he'd hoped it wouldn't. But it didn't really concern him. All he wanted to do was tell Sealii everything he needed to tell her. Tell her how his brother and her sister had talked to him, thought for some reason this thought scared him. This thought though, did not stop him from walking to where Zen had sat, only minutes earlier, and sitting down next to Sealii, withouth a word from either of them, for what seemed like forever. She didn't talk, nor did she turn her head to look at Inuyasha, she just blankly looked into the sky. He didn't move a muscle, nor did he let any noise escape him, except for the rapid beating in his chest that was his heart.

He struggled to find the words that were stuck in his throat in a lump, but he just couldn't find what he wanted to say, though he had rehersed it in his mind many times. The eerie silence seemed to drone on forever, and not even Sealii, the master of noise had dared to break this overpowering silence. He didn't know what was worse, the feeling that she wasn't talking because of him, or this silence that he couldn't bring himself to break this overpowering silence. Inuyasha continued to stare at her through the corner of his eye, wishing to see her making some kind of move to speak. When at last his wish came to pass.

"So what brings you here Inuaysha?" Bitterness was deep in her voice, making Inuyasha's skin crawl, "Kikyo want you to try and convince us this is a good idea again? Because if that's what it is, you're wasting your time." After she said this, Inuyasha felt the lump in his throat disapate.

"No, that's not why I came to talk to you Sealii...." He began.

"Then what Inuyasha? What are you here for?" She asked, turning to face Inuyasha, anger, hurt, pain, sadness, all filled her eyes.

"It... It was something else I wanted to tell you. Something I've figured out finally. Well not completely." He began again.

"Che! You never could completely think things through." She snorted.

"The only thing I'm puzzled by is, 'Why in the world did I even consider Kikyo, when you had been there for me this whole time.?' " Sealii was about to create a come back, but she stopped, not knowing what to say, or how to say whatever came to mind.

"I've been thinking for a while, ever since I talked to my brother and Nama, "Why in Kami's name, did I ever think of choosing Kikyo over you." And I realized, that somehow, I was just afraid you didn't feel the same way. Though I know that's really stupid." He had officially lost what he was doing and saying.

"Feh, what the hell do you mean by that?" She asked, acting like she didn't give a damn about what he said.

"All these years, you've been by my side, and I by yours, but recently I thought that all for nothing. But I've realized why you stood by me, although you could have had at least 1000 mates by now, all doing anything to make you happy." Inuyasha said, looking to the side, ashamed.

"And what, O' Wise One, what gave you the idea for this reasoning?!" She asked sarcastically.

"It was because you loved me, I knew it, but was scared and chose not to see it. Sealii, after all that I've done, I don't blame you if you hate me for the rest of my life and yours... But I want you to know, no matter what you decide, I'm not going to be with Kikyo. I realized that being with her was just a feeble attempt at fake happiness." Inuyasha stayed quiet, hoping Sealii would talk.

"I... Of course I loved you Inuyasha, " She began, "And I still do. But I don't hate you, no matter what you've done, how much you've hurt me, no matter what, I'll still love you, and always will. But, when you were with Kikyo, I couldn't stand it. Just tell me now, why, if you don't love her, why in the hell did it look like you did. I know you Inuyasha, and you ain't no actor!" With this sentence, Sealii let herself burst into a fit of small giggles, the idea that Inuyasha could act made her go nuts, and she ran with the images.

"Well, I told myself to believe that I did, and that she loved me back. But it was thanks to Nama, that I realized, I was trying to believe wrong." Inuyasha stared into Sealii's sea foam green eyes.

She had changed much in appearance. She was taller, more filled out, longer hair that was now always held up in a messy pony tail, her eyes were softer, more mother like, but still filled with childish ambitions, and child like humor. She was much more powerful then she was when she was younger, and her senses had gotten stronger tenfold. Now, there was nothing weak about her, even the hyperactive part of her was still strong after all these years. Yet, Inuyasha himself, hadn't changed all that much, well, more in negative ways then any other. He was more apt to avoid people, and he was more withdrawn then any of the kitsune family. His attitude was not to be messed with, and it was lucky that his 'family' could deal with it. Though Sesshomaru was close to kicking him out a few times after a few spells with him. But Inuyasha was lucky to have Sealii convince him, that his father wouldn't have liked that. His appearance was much the same, his hair was down to his waist, his eyes amber, though they held more resentment now, hardly any carefree expression like when he was younger. He cursed more now then ever, and he had a habbit of taking his anger out on whatever he could find. Yet through all this...

"Inuyasha...." Sealii said, intterupting Inuyasha's thinking state.

"Yeah?" Inuyasha asked sheepishly.

"I love you." Yet through all this, she still loved him, Inuyasha said to his minds inner person, completing his thoughts, as he looked at the kitsune woman next to him, whom he had so much trouble looking at earlier.

Inuyasha didn't know exactly what to say to this, the lump in his throat had returned, and all he could do was wrap her in his arms, and hope to KamiSama that he wouldn't mess up this perfect moment, when she spoke again, it suprised him, and he jumped slightly.

"I'm taking that as a 'I love you too.' " She giggled once and then snuggled into his arms, eventually falling asleep.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Shh, Nama if you scream they'll know we're here!" Whispered Kitai, who had her hand clasped over Nama's mouth, whom was about to burst out with the loudest kawaii anyone could have ever heard.
"Eell Iai ayb ff oo ould et oo an aff ai outh..... (Well Kitai, maybe if you would get your hand off my mouth....) " What she said was almost illegible.
"You promise not to yell?" Kitai asked sarcastically, not really caring if her sibling knew they were spying.
"Mhm." She mummbled.
"Ok." Kitai receeded her hand, and Nama regained her composer, and sighed happily when she looked at Inuyasha stroking Sealii's hair.
It was almost too cute to be happening, but it was, and Nama couldn't have been happier. The sight made her wish that her mate was with her. And almost like magic, had two arms clasped around her waste. She was about to let out a scream, when two hands shot over her mouth. She looked to the side, Kitai was one of the hands, and when she looked again, one of the arms that was around her waist was now putting it's hand over her mouth. Looking behind herself, she saw that the arms and hand belonged to Sesshomaru. She smiled at him, though it was not visible through the pair of hands that were still heavily clasped over her mouth. Giving her another annoyed look, Kitai took her hand back again, which made Sesshomaru take his back also, and replaced his arm around Nama's waist. He smiled at her, and then Nama returned her gaze to the couple infront of them. Sesshy also looked at them, with the same expressionless face. After the minor irritations, Kitai, went back to watching her sister cuddling with Inuyasha. And just when she thought she could continue to spy without more irritation, Zenzuishi and Queshinta came walking into their little hiding spot. Before Ques could even say anything, Tai gave him the darkest look ever. And he knew automatically, after she gave him that look, to keep quiet. Zenzuishi, on the other hand, already knew to keep quiet, hell he'd been watching them from the opposite side of the others for a while. It was only when he sensed Ques trying to find him that he decided to spy with the others.
Zenzuishi gave Ques a blank look, and squated down next to Tai. He couldn't believe it, Inuyasha had actually done something right with Sealii!!! It was beyond unbelieveable, and near thought impossible. But there he was, doing everything right, or it looked so to him. Sesshomaru vaguly wondered how his dimwitted half brother had accomplished the impossible, well the impossible for him at least. But there he was, infront of his own eyes, Inuyasha was holding Sealii, a look of love on his face, his features had softened considerably, and Sealii looked as if though a 1000 year's pain had left her. They were both so happy, so content, and it actually only looked natural that she was sleeping in his arms. Well, she was asleep, for like 10 minutes, then she woke up, either that, or she just closed her eyes. Because after Sesshomaru had gotten there, she opened her eyes and looking lovingly into Inuyasha's eyes. He looked back into Sealii's eyes, with just as much love in his own eyes. It seemed like the only thing they could do was stare into eachothers eyes, as if looking deep inside eachothers souls. And then it happened, the space between their faces began to close. Slowly, not fast, and at a steady pace. The spying family, was now hysterical, well not Sesshomaru, he was just a little curious, but the rest of them were hysterical. They couldn't believe they would get to see their youngest sister's first kiss. And all of a sudden, it popped into Nama's head, that she had yet to see Zen or Tai's first kiss, and was determined to see it. While this was happening, Queshinta tried to leave, but Nama grabbed ahold of the collar of his shirt. Crouched down, one hand was balled into a fist under her chin, stars in her eyes, with her mischievious cat smile, her other hand holding Ques shirt.
The space between their lips disappeared with each passing second, when they finally met, in the cutest kiss Nama, or any of them had ever seen. Inuyasha was lifting the hair that had escaped onto her face, and she was leaning upwards into his lips, and he leaning down towards her own. Nothing but love showed in their kiss, and Zenzuishi knew, before all the other's, that this although how perfect it seemed, was going to be a rocky relationship. Somehow he just knew it. But it didn't stop the moment from being awesome in his eyes, he was still very happy for his little sister. Though he was mad that she found her life mate before he had. Besides that fact, he hadn't even noticed when they seperated from their kiss, only to stare into eachother's eyes once more. And they began talking quietly.
"Inuyasha.." Sealii began quietly.
"Yeah I know, they've been there the whole time." Inuyasha said smiling.
"That's embarrassing..." She stated shyly.
"Yeah, well it's not like we've done anything huge." Responded Inuyasha.
"I suppose that's true... It's still embarrassing." She said quietly.
"I know what you mean. You should get some rest though, you look like you could drop dead." He insisted, combing her hair with his hands.
"You trying to say I look like crap?" She asked, giggling slightly.
"Maybe, and what if I am?" He asked laughing a little.
"I'll kick your ass." Both of them gave another small laugh.
"I highly doubt that, but seriously, go to sleep you need it." With that he began to purr as it lulled her to sleep, like he had done so many times before.
Inuyasha watched as his koishii slept peacefully in his arms. He remembered the first time he had purred to lull Sealii into a deep sleep.
The day was really cold, and Sealii was in an irritable mood, she hated the cold and detested having to go out in it for any reason. It was wet, and cold, and snowing, in the middle of winter so it was at it's coldest days. Sesshomaru had asked her to go find a few herbs and to really stock up on them, since they were winter living plants. Sealii was the only one who could identify them easily enough to make the trip quick, so she was sent to get the herbs. Since she had been sent out, she was in a foul mood, grumbling and mumbling every few seconds. Inuyasha was sent to go with Sealii for her protection, the previous day she had made quite a few enemies with her snippy mood. Well he went with her more for the enemies protection then Sealii's. The girl could take care of herself, but when she was pissy like this, she bit heads off. Inuyasha shivered as he saw one human he had to protect from her.
He had come and tried to attack her from behind while she picked herbs. She turned around and almost punched the guys head off. Luckily though, Inuyasha had intercepted her fist and then pushed the guy back. Sealii was now really pissed, she wanted to get that guy back for pissing her off, and now she was mad at Inuyasha for taking away her get-back. She went after the human male again, but Inuyasha grabbed her waist and brought her close to his chest. She could feel her heart race, then slow down to a steady beat as he lulled her to sleep with a low soft continuous purr. Though not one apt to look for revenge, when it was cold out, she had no control over her snippy mood, which meant sometimes, she would look for revenge. The human male looked at him.
"How did you do that?" He asked with curiousness, and a sorry tone that he ever messed with her.
"Well, she's my life mate, though she doesn't know that yet. And even if she doesn't, I can lull her to sleep by purring. It's this whole connection thing, you probably wouldn't get it all too well." Explained Inuyasha.
"I see, wish I could do that for the wife, if I don't do what I'm supposed to do I get a yellin." He said chuckling.
Inuyasha just chuckled and picked some more of the herbs Sealii had previously been picking. After that, he picked up what the kitsune woman had already picked, put it in her basket, picked her up and went back to Sesshomaru's castle. He decided that he would lay Sealii down in his own room, and put away the herbs and then return to Sealii, just to make sure she didn't kill anyone that crossed her path. And when she came to, she wasn't happy, and almost clawed his head off.
Inuyasha thought to himself, yeah that had been at least a year ago, but he wondered. Why in the hell, did he tell that human Sealii was his life mate, yet he went to Kikyo and almost decided to become human for her. He didn't understand it himself. And he was sure as hell if that human had found out, he'd be just as confused. It just amazed him that he would so willingly go with Kikyo though she wasn't meant to be his life mate. Yet he really did love Sealii with all his heart, it just didn't make any sense to him at all. Yet he tried not to ponder it, she had no clue he had told that human that infomation. And Sealii still loved him, and that was all that really mattered to him. That out of his mind, he still knew that everyone was watching him and Sealii. He was really surprised, to sense that Sesshomaru had been there spying also. He wondered why in the hell Sesshomaru of all people would be interested in spying on him. He had no reason to do so, or at least, none that he could think of. Then it crossed his mind to acknowledge that everyone was there, but decided he'd play the dumbass for a while. Though he knew that the first thing that would come out of Ques' mouth would be, "Oh, so all these years you were just "acting" like a dumbass?" Yeah that's what he'd say, and everyone would laugh with him too. Not Sealii though, well, actually, yeah she probably would too. But then she'd comfort Inuyasha, and calm him down if he started getting too pissed. Yet when people had said that from 3 months ago till now, she had not defended him or comforted him.
She stayed as far as possible from him at all times. It was like she hated him, yet you could sense the love that she sent to his heart. She couldn't deny how she felt, and even though she didn't want it to happen, her heart sent Inuyasha her feelings. In return, he shyed away and said he'd be with Kikyo instead. Inuyahsa silently growled, he couldn't stop thinking of the way he betrayed his own life mate. It sickened him, what he did, pretending Sealii wasn't his life mate, even though, in his heart, he knew it true, that she was, and that he had actually told someone about it. Shaking his head, he told himself he had to forget about it, and figure a way to tell Kikyo he couldn't go through becoming human. No, not now, not since he knew Sealii would never reject him. Before he had been scared, and needed to know someone was like him, an outcast, someone who was alone. But when he left Sealii, she was alone, yet he ignored it. Once again shaking his head, he decided to let his onlookers know that he knew of their presence, but before he could Sesshomaru stepped forward.
"Brother, you have done well. I'm surprised you actually pulled that off. If I was her, I wouldn't have so easily forgiven you for your stupid mistakes." Sesshomaru said, stepping into the clearing.
"Can it Sesshomaru, I've heard that enough already, I know my mistake, and now I can't even begin to tell anyone how much of a fool I know I've been. I've had enough shit from you, and from Sealii's family I don't need more shit from you." Inuyasha said, looking at his half brother, growling loudly.
"You know Inuyasha, I will not rule the Western lands forever, my duty is to rule to Eastern lands." Sesshomaru said cooly.
"Where the hell did that come from? And where is this going?" Somehow he knew this conversation was going to end up awkward.
"I am to rule the Eastern lands, that will leave you to rule the Western lands. Father has instructed me to tell you once you and Sealii got together, that you were to take over these lands once you could handle the responsibility. You may have gotten your mate, but you are still not ready to rule." Commented Sesshomaru.
"..." Inuyahsa had no clue what to say at the moment. "You're right, I'm not fit to rule now. Father never got the chance to really show me how a leader should be." He added to his silence.
"You don't need Father to show you how, the woman in your arms can show you how to be the best leader you can be." Sesshomaru said in his normal cool mono tone voice.
Inuyasha blinked, "What would Sealii know about ruling something? She couldn't rule a fly." At this comment he could hear a small low growl.
"I suggest you don't say such things, you may not have known, but her father has taught her everything she would ever need to know about ruling the lands." He said gesturing to Sealii.
"Oh, well yeah I guess that would make sense. I was never told her father had taught her such things." He looked at the woman in his arms, her family was full of surprises.
"Plus Namaiki knows all of how to rule, and she has told all of her siblings of how to rule. Even if Sealii couldn't explain to you, the way you should rule, you know one of her siblings could." Sesshomaru stopped for a long while then added, "And you know you always have me to look to if you need it." At this Inuyasha almost had a heartattack.
"And since when did you ever care if I needed help." He questioned.
"Inuyasha, make no mistake, you may be a worthless halfbreed, but I am honor bound to help you in any way possible by our father. But I suppose, you aren't that worthless, seeing as how you corrected your mistake and got your mate in the proccess." Sesshomaru turned to walk away.
"Sesshomaru wait!" The retreating Inu Youkai stopped at his brother's request and listened. "I thank you for offering your help, and I will gladly ask for you if I ever need it. But just so you know, I'm not worthless, and though I know it doesn't matter, I will prove to you that I'm not worthless." With that Sesshomaru nodded and made his way back to the castle.
At that point, Inuyasha decided it was time to go back to Sesshy's home to rest. After picking Sealii up in his arms, he jumped down from the rock that they had been resting on. As he started to walk he yelled out to the siblings that he knew they were there and that they should also turn in. Zenzuishi fell over and busted up laughing. He thought Inuyasha had been a little under suspicious about the scents and presance he probably sensed. His laughter confused Inuyasha, but he didn't care, he still had to wake Sealii up. If they were truly to be life mates he'd have to actually ask her if she would want to bare the mating mark. Until that moment, he didn't think about whether she would want everyone to know she was to be mated to such a disgrace.
So he decided to ask her before he just did it. He slowly walked back to the castle, and made his way to his room. Once he entered, he laid Sealii on his futon and waited for her to wake up. He didn't have to wait long, for once he put her down and his arms weren't around her, she started to stir. A minute later her eyes fluttered open and she smiled at the amber eyes staring down into her sea foam green ones. Her eyes grew concerned when she saw a hint of sadness in his eyes. She didn't know why she saw that in him, but there it was.
"Koishii, what's wrong? Why do you look so sad?" Sealii asked, proping herself up on her elbows.
"Sealii... We're life mates, but I understand if you don't want to bare the mating mark showing that we are such." He looked to the side.
The kitsune woman's eyes softened, and turned from concern to love, and turned into a calming blue color as she wrapped her arms around his neck, "Inuyasha, I would gladly, and proudly bare your mating mark. I would have prefered that you hadn't asked me though." She said giggling. "I don't know why you asked, or what you thought I might say, but I love you with all my heart, and I don't care what others think of you. All I know is that I love you, and I want to be with you in every way." She brought her lips to his own soft wet ones and kissed him deeply.
When he broke the kiss he looked into her now calming blue eyes, "Sealii, I've never seen your eyes turn blue before." He said giving a light laugh.
She blinked, and said in a very confused voice that almost didn't sound like her (Think of the Way Kenshin from RK sounds) "They're changing colors?"
"Yeah, they're blue, a very calming blue. On occasions when you were really mad, I've seen them turn red." He chuckled again.
"Oh, I guess my eyes are like mood stones." She said giggling.
"Yeah, I guess so." He said smiling, he then looked into her eyes, they were like her scent, hypnotizing and intoxicating, in a good way.
He couldn't help but lower his lips to her own, as he laid her down on his futon. Inuyasha began trailing hot kisses down her chin and towards her neck. Her skin was so soft and warm, and felt good to the touch. Sealii reacted immediately to Inuyasha's touch. His lips were hot, wet, and smooth to the touch. When she felt that he stopped at her neck, she was about to ask what was wrong, when she felt him pulling her hakama lightly away from her neck. It was at that moment she knew what he was about to do. So she quickly moved her hair out of the way, and moved her head to the other side to give him full access to her neck. Inuyasha saw that she was definetly ready to be claimed by him, as he watched her move her hair and head to the other side. Slowly, he lowered his lips to her neck, and at first began to kiss and lick the area. Soft moans could be heard from her, she felt he was toying around with her with his touch. Knowing the mating mark would hurt at first, he plunged his fangs into her neck quick, as his eyes turned blood red. Sealii winced in pain, but the pain only lasted for a second, after that, the sensation of his fangs on her skin was very enjoyable. More soft moans of pleasure left her lips, as his eyes returned to normal, he licked the wound shut, leaving the bite mark behind. They looked into eachothers eyes, and smiled, Sealii giggled, and Inuyasha flipped her so she was ontop of him. His action had surprised her, she knew he was fast, but he gave no warning of what he was going to do.
Then a second later, she couldn't help but trap his lips in a passionate kiss. She did, as Inuyasha had did a minute ago, and trailed hot wet kisses down his chin and neck. She smiled as she kissed him, feeling his reactions to her touch. As she had did, he moved his hair and his head for her so she had total access to his neck. She quickly plunged her fangs into his neck, her eyes turning blood red. The sensation didn't really hurt Inuyasha, but he winced in pain anyways. Even though he could take pain, recieving the mating mark still hurt, but only so for a second. He purred loudly as she licked the blood slowly seeping from the bite, and healed it with her tongue. Being that she was so different from everyother demon and or half demon, she had healed the wound faster then he had. But the bite mark remained, which was the mating mark. Lifting her head from his neck, she looked into his eyes, and smiled her brightest smile. And then collapsed onto him, but not before he caught her. At first he didn't understand why she felt so weak, but then it had hit him. She must have been very upset with him for a long time, and probably had barely gotten any sleep what-so-ever. Even though she was happy, he could still see the bags under her eyes, and the red streaks on her face created from tears. Since he had seen Kikyo, he couldn't help but notice, Sealii never came down to eat with them. Inuyasha blamed himself for her weakness, but hearing her soft purrs as he wrapped his arms around her made him feel so much better.
Now that they were officially life mates, he could start to make up to her what he'd done for the past months. He stretched his legs and yawned, and felt a deep and healing sleep come over him, as he laid on his side, his life mate, still tightly cuddled into his arms.
Sesshomaru had ventured towards his own bedroom to get some sleep, but when he caught his brother's scent along with Sealii's, he couldn't help but wonder what he was planning. He kept hidden in the shadows as he watched Sealii sleeping peacefully in Inuyasha's arms, then he had laid her down on his futon. When she started to stir, he heard his brother voice his question about the mating mark. He chuckled inwardly, he knew Inuyasha still worried she would be ashamed to be mated to someone as worthless as him. As this thought crossed his mind, he felt a very strong presence cross him, one that made him feel like he would have gotten a tongue lashing had the presence been physical. At that moment, he knew his father's spirit had come to visit, and wasn't happy that Sesshomaru still thought Inuyasha worthless. Once he came out of his deep thoughts about his father, he heard a soft moan, and then the scent of blood. He was about to rush in when he scolded himself. He mentally cursed himself for thinking they were in danger, and cursed himself for even caring. He knew Sealii had just recieved the mating mark, and Inuyasha was healing the wound. Sesshomaru had almost barged in again when he caught the scent of his brother's blood, and again cursed himself for even caring. When he felt his father's presence flare up with anger.
Shessomaru sighed silently, he knew that his father's presence would continue to haunt him as long as he kept thinking of his brother as worthless. He made a mental note to ignore his father's presence. There was no way, a proud demon like Sesshomaru would ever admit a half-breed to be his equal. But his father seemed to be telling him otherwise. As he made his way back to his own bedroom, he thought, 'He's really going to follow me everywhere until I accept him. This will be most bothersome.'
The next morning Sealii had awoken to being tightly held in Inuyasha's embrace. She smiled, and rubbed his cute dog ears. Inuyasha purred softly with delight, and then growled as she stopped caressing his ears. That purr always put her to sleep, and she didn't feel like going back to sleep at the moment. Inuyasha opened his eyes to see his life mate smiling happily at him. A smile that said, 'I'll rub your ears again, just don't purr and put me to sleep.' He nodded his understanding to her eyes message, and she began to rub his ears again. Instead of a soft purr, came a low growl, that she recognized as his way of saying he enjoyed the attention. Deciding he wanted to be curious, he began to rub her ears also. The reaction was immediate, she purred loudly, no one but her mother, or Zenzuishi, had ever rubbed her ears the right way. Yet here Inuyasha was, the first time rubbing her ears, and he was doing it just right, better if possible. Zen and her mother had always rubbed her ears to calm her if she was angered or upset, but she had never had her ears rubbed for just the pleasure of it. She could feel herself smile lazily like she was drunk, and could feel herself start to drool. And quickly wiped her chin when she heard her mate chuckle at her reaction. She quickly sat up and looked from side to side like nothing had happened, but she had heard an odd sound. Inuyasha gave another chuckle and sat up as well, holding his mate close, licking her neck, and touching her mating mark with his tongue, instantly making her moan.
Such was the power of the mark. It had many purposes, mainly to show other demons that she was taken. But it also protected her from danger if he wasn't near, and lasted until he could be there to protect her. It gave them a connection like no other, they could feel eachother's emotions. He could tell when she was happy, sad, upset, worried, angry, anything. And she could feel his emotions. Also, in the event that somehow one of the mates lost their memory, they would be able to tell who there mate was if someone came up to them claiming to be their mate. If Inuyasha had lost his memory, and a female came up to him, claiming to be his mate, and she did indeed have a mating mark, all he would have to do is touch it, if she was his mate, she would instantly moan at his touch. Same vice versa with Sealii if she had lost her memory. The mating mark also carried the scent of the one who gave it to the reciepient. In this way, both mates will be able to tract the other down if need be. And now that they were mates, it increased their power, and opened up new possibilities for the two. Though they would have to learn about them before they learned to control them. Once such power was to stretch their aura's so that they could communicate with eachother. If Inuyasha was far away, and he could sense his mates distress, he would be able to stretch his aura to meet her's, and he could send his youkai aura to calm her. And she could do the same to calm him. Another ability was to talk telepathically, or in Inu youkai or Kitsune youkai. Since they were of two different races, they could now understand both languages. Speaking these two languages was at the moment, the only thing they knew of and had control over. Besides these things, the mark still had amazing abilities.
Sealii moaned softly, and instantly knew why he was trying to comfort her. She knew he was leaving to go find Kikyo, to tell her he had decided not to become human. But something didn't seem right, she knew something bad was going to happen. She had turned around in his arms and looked into his eyes, he could feel her distress, and tried to calm her. But nothing could quiet her fears of losing him. They both had a bad feeling about his going out to find Kikyo to tell her. But Inuyasha knew it had to be done. The events that followed would forever change their lives, but unbeknowest to them, it was supposed to happen.
Inuyasha had just been walking, trying to find Kikyo, he was running everywhere to find her. He was in a very big hurry, he could feel his mate becoming restless and upset. He looked from left to right to the front of himself. Still no Kikyo, which agrivated him to no ends. He had to find Kikyo and fast. Then all of a sudden, multipul arrows were shot at him. There was Kikyo, on the ledge, yelling the word "traitor" loudly. Inuyasha had no clue what she was talking about, he had done nothing to betray her. If anything, he betrayed Sealii. Easily he dodged the arrows, and ran for the village, hoping he could escape, or at least get her to a spot where he could talk to her. Then something in his mind made him turn to the shrine. All of a sudden he wanted, no, needed the Shikon jewel. It was like his body was calling out for it, so he went to the shrine and easily stole the pink glowing jewel. While making his way out of the village he was careless enough to be shot right in the heart in midleap. And bound to a tree, as he slowly lost conciousness, his last thought was, 'Sealii, please, be ok...' And then his world went dark.
The kitsune woman was becoming very upset, she knew Inuyasha was in danger, but he had refused her permission to go or even follow him. She knew this was something he had to do alone, but she knew he needed her. But there was no way she could go against her mates wishes, and there was no way he could go against her wishes. All of a sudden she felt his sudden fear, and then the pulse in his body that was telling him to go after the jewel. She couldn't understand what he wanted with it. But at that moment she ran out of the house and ran like lightning towards Kaede Village. Sealii had made it to the gates of Sesshomaru's house, and was in the middle of the village. As she ran frantically the people stared at her and then... Her eyes grew wide, she stopped in midstep, she clutched her heart, and thought, 'Inuyasha, please, be ok...' As her own world went dark, just like her mates.
The villagers watched the kitsune woman laying on the ground. They thought it some kind of trick she was trying to pull, so she could get them all back for the torture she had endured from them. An old man stepped forth to the woman laying on the dirt road. He was a medicine man that had taught Sealii much about what he knew. Mainly identifying herbs, when to pick them, how to crush them to make medicines, and what to mix what with what. The old man looked at her through old, worn, tired eyes, he knew she was gone. There were no cuts, or gashes, or any wounds on her, her body was fit and healthy, but he knew the reason for her death. Right after Inuyasha had left, she had went to her friend, Tanekonsei (kind old man) and brought him back to Sesshomaru's home. She knew he could calm her down, from her worst fears most of the time. He was like a grandpa to her, she told everything to him. When they had arrived at Sesshomaru's castle, she blurted out to him that she and Inuyasha were now mates.
That she knew something bad was going to happen and that she didn't know what to do. It was at that instant when she showed her mates surprised actions, and then his wanting the jewel, and then she ran off. He took off after her as fast as he could, which wasn't very fast considering his age. But regardless, he willed his feet to move faster. By the time he made it to the kitsune womans side, he knew there was nothing he could have done. Except for telling her to break the bond between the two. Sealii was a miko, yet she was a hanyou, with youkai parents. This puzzled Tane the first time he realized this, and couldn't figure out where she got her miko powers from. But he loved the girl anyways, she was a joy to have around, always talking and always had energy. He knelt down next to Sealii, and called a few of the younger and stronger villagers to his side.
"Zutsu, prepare a casket for Sealii, she has left us. Nana, please, go find the siblings. They need to know that their sister is gone. Nana, can you also find Tantan, she will need to be informed of this tragic event." The villagers nodded and set off to do what they needed to do.
Zutsu had come quickly with the casket, five other men helping him out. He told all of the villagers that none were to touch Sealii's body, or her siblings would have their heads. Once Nana had come back with the siblings and Tantan, they gasped. Her hand was still clutched to her heart, but her face was peaceful, like nothing was wrong, as though she was just sleeping. Nama fell to her knees, this just couldn't be happening. The villagers gapsed as they saw Ques walking towards them, his head down, and Zenzuishi in his arms, he looked exactly like Sealii, hand clutching his heart, and looking as though he were sleeping. And then Tantan entered the village, Kitai on her back. Again, her hand clutching her heart, and looking like she was asleep. Gasps were heard all around the village, 3 of the 5 siblings were gone. Tane sent Zutsu and the other men for two more caskets. Nama and Ques sat there and wept, they had lost three of their siblings, two of which they had no clue why. Nama held Kitai and Sealii close to her and wept.
Ques held Zenzuishi close while weeping softly, and then gently laid him in his casket, as he helped Nama with Kitai and Sealii. They didn't know what they had done to deserve this, but knew there was nothing they could do about it. After Ques laid the three in the caskets, they put the top on, and sealed them shut forever. The villagers then picked up the caskets and followed Queshinta and Namaiki. They were leading them to Sealii's secret spot, they were going to half way burry the caskets. Somewhere in her heart, Nama knew this couldn't be right, and hoped that this was just some spell. 10 men dug 3 holes that came half way up the caskets. Once they were secured into the ground, Queshinta made a grave stone, and marked it as this:
"Here lies 3 of the Northern lands most treasured children.
Kitai, the wild untame kitsune girl, who never refused
in helping her family, and had always done what she
thought best to do.
Zenzuisih, the hyperactive yet calm kitsune boy. his
love for his family, and sense of duty has gotten
him the title of "Young Protector."
And....
Sealii, the hyperactive smart kitsune girl. She loved
to talk, and always had energy. She helped every-
one and never gave up hope.
These three chidren shall always be honored.
In their short lives they had accomplished
So much in the name of their home.
They will be greatly missed but never forgotten."
Queshinta let his tears flow after the grave stone was set. He backed away and held his sister close to him, they still hadn't been able to tell Sesshomaru. He may not have showed that he loved them, but he also loved those three like brother and sisters. Nama knew he would be devestated (though he would never show it) , but knew that her devestation could not be matched. Sadly, everyone turned from the graves and walked back into the village.
Tane had stayed behind and looked at the middle grave that was Sealii, "Young kit, I know this is not right. When you reawaken to your destiny please, take care of yourself, and don't venture off before you're brother and sister wake." With that he bowed and walked away.
