Chapter One: We Slept for 50 Years
Inuyasha was thrusted backwards, Bankotsu was indeed powerful. The frustrated hanyou kept thinking as their swords clashed, how it had been 50 years since he was taken from Sealii, and now, he knew nothing of her whereabout's since his mating mark was telling him nothing of which would help him. Well actually, he knew where she was, but not if he'd ever have a chance to be with her again. His sword collided with Bankotsu's again, his sword crying out his pain and frustration. Any skilled blacksmith would be able to decipher the sad song. But only it's owner would know why it sang the song.
'Damn, I better stop letting my mind wander, or else my head will be able to wander on its own.' With that, Inuyasha slashed again at Bankotsu, but he easily dodged.
If anything was going to be resolved anytime soon, it would be who was strongest : Bankotsu, or Inuyasha. To Inuyasha, it was already decided, he had to win, therefore, he is the strongest. Right now wasn't the time for him to worry about Sealii, or think about the consequences he'd suffer by Kagome. Actually, it had crossed his mind a couple times, that he forgot to mention Sealii to Kagome and his other friends. And for that, he knew he was going to get sat big time.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~
Sealii tried to sit up, but came in contact with something really hard, and really cold. She laid back down and hugged her arms. Wherever she was, the whole entire place was cold. Her body began to shiver, she wasn't claustophobic, or afraid of the dark, but she didn't like being confined for no reason. Eyes racing from one side of darkness to the other, she let out a yell of frustration kicking her legs, in turn, something was knocked loose. Noticing this, she was able to move something above her, in due time too. It came to mind that it was getting harder to breathe. Good thing she now knew she could move upwards, or at least move something somewhere, wherever she was.
Whatever it was her hands and feet were against, it was beginning to move more. Deciding now would be a good time to be able to breathe, she thrusted her legs and arms upward as far as possible, dislodging the confining space. Light poured into, what she now noticed as her eye sight adjusted to the sudden light, looked like a rectangular stone box. Normally used for high ranking dead people, she wondered why the hell was she in one. And why couldn't she remember being put in there? She looked around, there were two more stone boxes, known as casckets. The girl continued to look around, when she spotted a headstone. Gasping, she quickly jumped out of the confin, and went over to read what it said.
It took her only a matter of minutes to read what it said, but it came to her like a ton of bricks. This was clear to her now, or at least half of it. Alls she remembered was that she and Inuyasha are connected, and that whatever spell he was put under, she must have been put under also. But what got her vexed, was that Zen and Tai were also affected. It just didn't make sense, but right now that wasn't her main concern. Since there was obviously nothing she could do for them at the moment, she had to find her mate. She knew he must be alive since she was, problem was, he must not be near, since she couldn't smell his scent. Sealii sat upon the rock she and Inuyasha had been on so long ago. It was flatter now, probably from the weather.
She sat there for a long time, until she heard someone in the bushes. It was a very old man, she thought it was Tane, "TaneSama?" She questioned.
The old man looked over at the kit in surprise, and seemed to be raking his mind to find out if he knew this person, "SealiiSan? Is that you?"
"TaneSama?" She questioned.
"Iie, I am his Grandson, I only saw you a couple times when I was younger, you and that inu hanyou fello played tag with me." He said, remembering the memory with fondness.
"Oh, so TaneSama is dead? But you look just like him, how can that be so? I'm sure I wasn't in that thing for that long." Sealii stated, putting her finger to her chin in poderence.
"As far as I know, you've been dead for 50 years." Stated the old man.
"Fi-fifty years?" This shock took her by surprise, and she fainted.
The man was going to help her, but decided that she was probably just a figment of his imagination that he for some reason talked to, so he continued on. Hours later she woke up again, just to end up thinking about what Tane's Grandson had told her. 50 years, it just couldn't be that long that they have been under that spell, whatever it was. Sealii sat crossed leg on the boulder, she had to think of a plan of attack. She had no clue as to what to do, things obviously were going to be somewhat different, and she knew no one. And there was the fact that she had no clue where Queshinta or Namaiki were. There was another rustle in the bushes, and this time when a head popped out of them, she saw white dog ears.
Sealii smiled, it might actually be, "Inuyasha is that you?"
But what came out of the bushes couldn't be her Inuyasha, his eyes weren't demonic, but it had an evil in them. A coldness, something that wanted her dead, a grin that told her there was no way she'd get out of the forest alive.
"Damn that Bankotsu, how the hell does he keep getting away?" Inuyasha growled, he guessed Naraku had called to him or something and he had to run.
"Don't worry about it Inuyasha, at least now we have time to think of a plan of attack... Wow why do I think I've heard someone say that already within the last 10 minutes?" Everyone looked at her.
"..." Miroku was going to saying something but, "Wow it does feel like someone just said or thought that."
"Whatever, let's head SouthWest." Inuyasha ordered.
"Why that way Inuyasha? I know this country side very well, and down that way, all there is, is a burned down village." Sango stated.
"I know, I kind of figured that, but I know a place that's close." Inuyasha said walking on, his head dropped.
"Huh? Inuyasha?" Kagome looked at him sympathetically, she wanted to know what was wrong, but opted not to ask quite yet.
So the six of them went on their way down a path, that lead SouthWest, to a place Inuyasha knew of. Everyone walked behind Inuyahsa, and let him have his space. Then it came to Sango's mind, there were three graves somewhere around the village that was destroyed. Maybe, he knew those three people, again Sango opted not to ask, deciding she didn't want her head to get bit off.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~
"Inuyasha what's wrong with you? Why are you attacking me!?" Yelled the kitsune girl.
"Hehehe, I want you dead, I never really loved you." Inuyasha laughed maliciously.
"In-Inuyasha, what did I do? What's wrong?" She yelled, tears coming to her eyes.
"I told you, I want you dead, you're of no worth to me." Sealii dodged Inuyasha's claws that were coming right at her.
Inuyasha kept coming at her, grinning an evil grin, seemingly like he enjoyed watching the pain she expressed. She continued to dodge his attacks, but with every swipe of his claws, she cried more. This couldn't be happening. Not knowing what was behind her, she tripped and lost her balance, giving Inuyasha the chance to get a ragged shot at her left shoulder. Before she had time to react, he plunged his claws through her middle. And right when he was about to finish her off, he looked over his shoulder and left. He left Sealii sitting there, crying, and as she was crying, she made her way to a river near the grave sights. She needed to wash away the scent of blood so demons wouldn't come her way looking for a meal.
When she had a river in sight, she looked for a sturdy boulder she could lean on. Once she found that, she made her way over to it, and rested so her back was facing the way she came. Being that she crawled all the way, she used a lot of what little energy she had left, so she rested, not bothering to clean off her wounds.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Inuyasha was aways ahead of his friends, but that's the way he wanted it. He needed time to himself to think, they weren't far now from the grave sights of his friends and his mate. How would he explain to the other's what these 3 meant to him? Without them knowing, out of the many times he explored on his own while his friends rested, he went back to his own home. Not long ago, did he find that Kitai and Zenzuishi were dead along with Sealii. Myoga had informed him that Sealii was still in her grave, and that the other two were also there, before the first time Inuyasha went to check. And it was true, there was a gravestone and caskets, everything. And the last time he was there, there was a powerful spell placed on the caskets so no one, be it demon, half demon, or human, could get into them.
He was now really close to the secret place, when he was just outside of the forest entrance, he stopped for his friends to catch up. Once all five of them were behind him, he went on. But they all hit a barrier, that only Inuyasha could get through, this vexed them all. Inuyasha turned around and gazed at his friends, he knew Nama had placed this barrier here, probably hoping that he, Inuyasha was alive and could get to her siblings.
"It's ok Inuyasha, you go on and do whatever it is you need to do. I imagine you have your reasons for coming here." Kagome said cheerfully.
Inuyasha and nodded, and went further into the barrier, eventually coming upon the scent of blood, Sealii's blood. So many questions shot through his mind, if Sealii was alive now, was it the barrier that kept the mating mark from reacting? If not, how come he didn't pick it up right away? Another big question, why the hell didn't it let him know his mate was alive if the barrier didn't block the mark!!?!?! And why the hell did he smell her blood, and tears everywhere? Knowing now was not the time to ask questions, he followed the scent of blood and tears to the river. There he saw a young girl, dressed it a ocean blue gi and hakama, leaning against a rock, crying, her body all bloody and cut. Inuyasha moved slowly towards her and to the side, to look at her face.
It was Sealii, and she looked like she was about to lose consciousness, "Sealii, is that you?"
"Inuyasha, g-get away." She said weakly.
"Sealii what's wrong it's me." He said, moving towards her slowly.
"Don't come near me! I know what you want!" She yelled.
"What are you talking about? Who did this to you?" He questioned.
"How dare you even ask that?! You know you're the one that did this to me! You're scum if you deny that, I may have just woken up, but I could plainly see it was you who was trying to kill me!!!" Again she yelled.
"I-I didn't do that to you, why would I even have a reason to attack you? Sealii... What happened?" He asked taken back.
"I can't believe you'd ever lie to me like that Inuyasha, you've really changed." She growled at him.
"Sealii, you're not well, I know someone who can help you recover." Inuyasha slowly walked over to her to pick her up.
"No get away from me! Don't touch me, you're just going to try and kill me again, let go of me!!!" She yelled, weakly trying to fight him off, but found it took too much of her energy, and she was left defensless.
"Calm down, I'm not gonna kill you." Inuyasha began walking away from the river, and back towards where his friends were waiting, Sealii still struggling in his arms.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Inuyasha is taking a long time, do you think we should be worried?" Asked Kagome.
"I don't think we should, he's coming back right now." Pointed Shippo.
"Huh?" Kagome looked back over her shoulder, and saw something in Inuyasha's arms. "Wonder what he has with him." She wondered aloud.
"It looks like a girl, probably the exact same age as he is, a bit younger at that." Shippo again pointed out.
And it was true, there was a girl in his arms, and as he came closer, they could tell that she had tails, and kitsune ears. Kagome gasped, 'She must be a kitsune demon.' She thought. 'I didn't know there was a kitsune hanyou around this place.' Thought Shippo. Sango and Miroku both thought how peculiar this situation was. As thoughts swirled in their minds, Inuyasha stepped through the barrier and stood infront of them. The girl was struggling in his arms, it looked like she didn't want anything to do with the hanyou holding her. Kagome blinked, she was badly hurt, and she was afraid of Inuyasha, but what reason would she have to fear him?
"Let... Me.... Go-o-o-o-o-o-o..." She whined weakly.
"Inuyasha, lay her down on the ground, I need to look at those wounds, I think some of them could be infected." Ordered Kagome.
"Kagome... Before you do anything, there's something you should all know. This girl, she's a childhood friend of mine, that and more, but I'll explain later." Inuyasha laid the girl on the ground and began to purr, making her eyes droop, and soon she was asleep, "Kagome, she thinks I'm the one that attacked her, but I have my guesses that it was Naraku."
"I see." Kagome said, feeling hurt, and more then a little confused, "Well I'll fix her up and then you can explain this all to us." Kagome said, with a fake smile.
"Sure..." He said, and he sat down next to the girl, his back facing her.
"Um, Inuyasha what was with the purring thing?" Kagome asked, kneeling next to the sleeping figure.
"Right now, it's the only way you'll be able to get close enough to help her. Naraku did something and now she thinks I'm trying to kill her. She'd probably think you all are trying to kill her too." He answered.
"Oh, I see." With that Kagome, with help from Sango, began cleaning, and disinfecting her wounds, then wrapping them up.
It took them more then three hours to completely check all her wounds, clean, disinfect, and bandage them. And by that time, everyone was looking at Inuyasha curiously. They were waiting for some answers, that would hopefully come, and not at a huge price. Sighing heavily, Inyasha turned to face his friends, and looked at each of them. There was a few things he needed to know, before he told them anything. So he took a deep breath, and began asking his questions, "First off, I want to make sure that I won't be hated for this."
'They're gonna talk about me? How long have I been out? How come I'm not dead?' Thought a now pretending to sleep Sealii.
"That depends on how bad this situation ends up Inuyasha." Sango commented.
'I wonder who that is.'
Nodding, he continued, "Kagome, no matter what I say, please promise me you won't run off or go home. Though I don't admit it, I need you here, not just to locate the jewel shards, but you just help me through a lot of things. And I think now will be more cruical, not just for me, but for all of us." He looked deep into her eyes.
'What the jewel shattered?! Whoa, she can sense them?'
"I understand, I promise I won't leave." She said strongly.
"Thanks Kagome, well that's all I needed to ask you guys. Now, about her... She's been a childhood friend since I was five. Her father ruled the Northern lands, her parents died after mine died." He paused.
'Hmm, maybe he's deceiving them.'
"Ok, so that explains somethings, so what else about her." Asked Shippo, seeming very interested.
"Well... She's... My life mate..." Inuyasha looked at Sealii, "And I think Naraku has something to do with my not knowing when she was released from that spell. Because of that bastard, she doesn't even trust me." He was now in deep thought.
'Naraku? Who in the hell is that?'
"How come you never thought to tell us this?" Asked Miroku.
"Shapeshifter..." Inuyasha said in a quiet voice.
"Huh?" Kagome asked, obviously hurt.
"There was a shapeshifter, that attacked her father when we were younger, I think that might have been Naraku. Onigumo must have just been a pawn in Naraku's plan to get the jewel, it makes sense now, that powerful demon that destroyed her village, it was Naraku." Inuyasha exclaimed, pounding his fist into his palm.
'Wait, so this Naraku fella is the same person that tried to kill me?'
"Wait you just lost me Inuyasha." Shippo stated.
"He means that the shapeshifter back then is the one and only Naraku." Kagome explained, actually, for some reason, his being life mates with the girl didn't hurt her as much as she thought, but the hurt was still there.
"Oh, I see, so what's her name Inuyasha?" Asked Sango.
"Sealii, she comes from a demon family, but she and her brother Zenzuishi are both hanyou's like me. But Sealii also has miko powers. Kagome, once she trusts me, and you guys, can you help her with her powers? I'm pretty sure she doesn't know how to control them." Inuyasha asked.
'I don't know, can I trust him, he knows me, but is he the Inuyasha I know? He has to be, or else my miko power woulda fried him, right?'
"Sure, I'll do what I can." Kagome answered.
"Thanks Kagome. She should be waking up soon, I'm not exactly sure how she'll react, but my guess is, she'll make herself pass out." Inuyasha said looking at his lap.
'Hm, so this girl Kagome is a miko, maybe I should try trusting them. Maybe they can help.'
"But that's not healthy!" Kagome exclaimed.
"Not on purpose, it'll be from the shock of letting herself be helped. Or some reason like that." Inuyasha stated.
"So when she wakes up, what are we going to do. What if she tries to run off before she's fully healed?" Asked Miroku.
"Then I'll have to deal with it. You see..." Inuyasha explained to them that mates had a way to calm eachother down, and other stuff.
"Oh, I see, so no matter what, you can most likely take care of it?" Figured Sango.
"Pretty much, but if she stresses herself out too much, I'll have to put her to sleep. She doesn't exactly like it when I do that though. Oh yeah, the winter months are coming soon aren't they. When she gets better, if she trusts us and stays with us, watch out when it's cold, she gets really snippy." Stated Inuyasha.
"Why, something bad happen in the colder months?" Asked Kagome.
"No, she just hates being cold, and gets really irritable." Everyone fell over, who gets irritable just because it's cold?
"That's not what I was expecting but, ok." Kagome laughed.
"Oh yeah, and she is.. How should I say, hyperactive? Kind of like Shippo, you'd think she's permenently drunk, but she's just naturally hyper." Inuyasha warned.
"So she likes playing kid games?" Shippo asked excitedly.
"Probably, in our village, the parents never really let us go near their kids, and we stopped playing kids games once we turned 8." Answered Inuyasha.
"Neat, that means I'll have two people to play with now KagomeChan!" Shippo said excitedly.
"Might as well make that all of us Shippo. Knowing her, she'll find a way to get all of us in the 'fun'." Inuyasha said glaring at nothing.
Tears began to form in Sealii's eyes, she really wanted to believe that was Inuyasha, but she just found it so hard to do. She felt so lost, and just needed time alone to herself to think. Even though her eyes were closed, she knew everyone was staring at her. Inuyasha had smelt her tears and looked over to her, which caused the talking to stop and everyone began to stare at her. This caused her tears to flow more freely, her mind was unsure, but her heart was telling her to believe him. And then Kagome broke the silence.
"Maybe tomorrow, if she's feeling better, and she allows us too, we should take her to Kaede's village to rest. It'll be much better there then here." Suggested Kagome.
"Maybe, but this is her home, she might not want to leave, let alone let me carry her there." Inuyasha stated, sadly looking at Sealii.
"How about this, if she does agree to go to Kaede village, we all walk, and Kirara can carry her there. Is that ok with you SangoChan, KiraraChan?" Kagome asked, looking to her friends.
"Mew!" Kirara meowed cutely.
"That's a yes." Sango giggled.
"Once she wakes up, maybe it'll be better if I'm not the first to talk to her. She doesn't trust me, and she'll probably think I'm trying to kill her if I'm looming over her." Inuyasha said meloncholely.
"Maybe so, but she doesn't know us, she'll most likely be more afraid of us then you Inuyasha. Besides, if you ask her, and it backfires, there's me and KagomeChan, I'm sure she could trust us." Sango said smiling.
"Don't forget me! She can trust a fellow kitsune! Us kitsune's aren't ones to betray our own." Shippo squealed excitedly, and proudly.
"I guess you're right, thanks." Inuyasha said lightly.
Miroku's eyes widened, "Did you just say thanks? Are you sure you're the real Inuyasha?" Miroku asked, shocked.
"Shut up, you idiot." Inuyasha said pounding him on the head.
"Yup, same ol' Inuyasha." Shippo said shaking his head.
"Mew!" Kirara agreed.
'I don't know what to do, I don't know what to think, this is all too confusing to me. I need time to think, need time to be alone. Maybe I should go to that village they were talking about, maybe there I can be alone.'
"It's getting late, so are we just going to set up camp here?" Asked Kagome.
"Hmm, I think we can use that barrier to our advantage, my mother was a miko, but I don't have much miko power, but I think I'd have enough to change what the barrier blocks out." Inuyasha stated.
"Wow, you're full of surprises today, aren't you Inuyasha." Kagome smiled.
Inuyasha rolled his eyes, and had Miroku and Kagome help him with the barrier. It took them a while, at least an hour, to get it right, but it was all worth it. They knew they could sleep in peace, and could sleep a little ways away from Sealii, so she could be alone, well somewhat. Inuyasha, they knew would probably be right by her side, or close by in a tree. After everyone was settled in and asleep, Inuyasha went over to Sealii and began to talk to her.
"Sealii, please trust me when I say this, we are not going to, and have no intention to hurt you. My friends are spread out somewhat and I'm in one of the trees. I just want you to know, that while we're here, we're going to try and give you as much space as we can, but with Naraku probably close by, we have to stay somewhat close. Sleep well." And with that he jumped up into his tree, and fell into a light sleep.
Sealii opened her eyes and looked infront of her. She inwardly sighed, she had no clue what she was going to do. Heck, she didn't know the suoppsed Inuyasha's friends, and she didn't know who to trust. If anyone though, she thought, it'd probably be that Kagome, Sango, and little kitsune she sensed. Just then, she heard the bushes rustle, and a small figure stepped out of them and walked over to her.
"Hi SealiiChan, I'm Shippo." He whispered quietly.
"Hi Shippo." She whispered back.
"Hey SealiiChan, can I sleep with you. You remind me a lot of my mother." He stated, looking to the side sadly.
"Sure, that's fine." Sealii replied smiling.
"Thanks." With that Shippo cuddled into her chest, and quickly fell asleep.
Strangely, to Sealii, it was like him being there was natural, and she too soon fell asleep. With the notion in her head, that yes, she would allow them to take her to Kaede's village. Just as long as she rode on Kirara, and Inuyasha and any other males were far away from her. If they could do that, she'd be fine with being moved to the village. For a while, the night was silent, except for the light breathing of the seven people within the secret spot. The night was peaceful, but something didn't seem right. Someone was watching the sleeping people, and it wasn't Inuyasha. There was another spector besides Naraku, that was observing the group. Someone with a cold blank stare, someone who knew another someone who needed to be informed of this situation as soon as possible.
The spector with the cold eyes jumped off without looking back to see if anyone had seen him. He knew someone who would want to be informed that Sealii was indeed alive. This someone had big plans for the girl. But other from that, he had no business being there at that place. Knowing the one who wanted to know the whereabouts of the girl though, he knew she'd kick his ass if he didn't keep tabs on her. So now it was his job, knowing he couldn't trust his idiot half brother. Meanwhile back with the group, everyone was asleep except for Sango, or was everyone asleep?. She had found the river Sealii had been at earlier, and decided to sit there for a while. It was already to her knowledge, that Shippo went to sleep next to Sealii, as did Kirara.
Sango looked back to the direction she came from. If anyone noticed that she had moved, it would be the lecher Miroku or the hanyou Inuyasha. See, Miroku has a thing for Sango, and she has a thing for Miroku. Knowing them, they would never say so, especially being total opposites. None the less, they love eachother, but Miroku's lecheries was beginning to become somewhat of a problem. Sango thought this over as she sat on the rivers bank. She had to laugh at the thought, it was true, she loved a lecherous monk. Then her little brother, Kohaku came to her mind. She missed him dearly, and hated the fact that Naraku had control over him. Naraku minipulated Kohaku, and made him kill their family and fellow demon slayers.
Then she began to think about Naraku. She knew he was able to shape shift, and that he tore parts of himself off, and made them into different people. Kagura, the wind hanyou, Kanna, the soul sucking hanyou, and Musou, the shape shifter, but Naraku took him back into his body. Naraku himself is a powerful hanyou, and Kagura and Kanna are just semi strong annoyances. If it wasn't for Kagura's ability to control the wind, it'd be easy to take them down. Then again, Kanna puts up a quick effective barrier. But with added help from Sealii, maybe it would be easier. This thought cheered the brown umber haired girl. They needed all the help they could get, and she was sure, Sealii was the best help they were going to get for a while.
Kagome stirred in her sleeping bag, she hadn't fallen asleep, and knew Shippo was with Sealii. They were both kitsune's, and she assumed Shippo and Sealii both already felt close. The raven haired girl sat up and stretched, she knew in a matter of seconds Inuyasha would jump down to talk to her. To say the truth, she didn't at all feel like talking, but kinda thought it impossible to get him to change their talk to a different time. And just as she completed this thought, Inuyasha jumped down from a tree right next to her. Kagome looked at the silver haired boy with interest, he had a look of worry on his face.
"Kagome I..." He began but the raven haired girl intterupted him.
"Inuyasha, it's ok. You have your reasons for not telling us. To be quite frank, it was never any of our business." Kagome said, giving him a smile.
"But it is your business." Kagome stared at him with shock, "You once asked me to be more open to you, and I'm trying, and I think now is the time to be more open about my past, and my reasons for not saying anything." Inuyasha watched Kagome for a reaction.
"Why now of all times? Why not wait until everyone is awake?" Kagome inquired, giving him a raised eyebrow look.
"Because they're not asleep, Miroku is watching Sango, and Sango is at the river. Shippo and Kirara are just relaxing with Sealii, but they're coming this way as we speak, all of them are. So I want, no, I really need to tell you guys." Spoke the hanyou.
Kagome didn't speak for a while, not until her friends were as Inuyasha had said, there. "Ok, so now we're here, you can tell us right?"
Inuyasha inclined his head, "Well, I guess it has been more then 50 years ago, almost 70 years ago, before I knew or even met Kikyo. A family of kitsune's came to my village, their father was the lord of the Nothern lands which was under seige. The father and husband had his family travel to a safer place, which happened to be ruled by my father. When me and Sealii met, we were five. And that day was the first time I held Sealii in my arms, she was afraid of being in a new place, so I stayed with her until she fell asleep. I realized she was having a bad dream, so I sat next to her and held her." He paused.
"So this all started when you were five, interesting. Is there a reason for that Inuyasha?" Miroku questioned, most likely thing pervertedly.
"Yes, both our mother's and father's, and even our siblings, said that we were soul mates. Destined to be together. While we were young, we dismissed the idea, but as we grew older, it was plain sight to us, but we still dismissed it. Then Kikyo came into the picture, and well, you can only imagine how upset she was. She ignored me, pretty much stopped eating or showing her face around when I was there." Inuyasha looked down at her cross legged lap.
"Well you are an idiot so I'm not surprised." Shippo stated, then winced thinking he was going to get a lump on the head, surprisingly, Inuyasha only continued to stare into his lap.
"Yeah, well you can say I figured that one out on my own. You guys already know what happened between me and Kikyo, and how things ended up. She asked me to become human for her and I agreed, but what you guys don't know is what happened after I got back to my home. I told Sealii, and she yelled, said if I didn't get it by now then I must really not have cared. But I really did, but I promised Kikyo. I was just going to go to my room, but Sesshomaru and Namaiki made sure I heard their words." He paused once again.
"Namaiki?" Kagome questioned.
"Yeah, Sealii's eldest sister. They talked to me, and made sure I understood why I still felt loved by Sealii. It dawned on me I couldn't keep my promise to Kikyo. I went to my room to try and figure out to get myself out of the hole I dug, when I heard Zenzuishi, her youngest older brother, walking out of the house. I followed him, and listened to him talk to Sealii, listened to him calming her down. Once he left, I decided it was now or never." Inuyasha looked to the left at his hand, which he was leaning on.
"Now or never for what? To tell her how you truly felt?" Asked Kagome.
"Exactly, surprisingly, I was able to tell her, and to her embarrassment, her siblings and even mine were watching us." He stated.
"You're brother Sesshomaru? The one who constintly tries to kill you, the one who has no emotions what-so-ever? That brother?" Exclaimed Sango in disblieving question.
"Yes, and if that was hard enough to believe, he and Nama are mates." Everyone stared at him.
"You can't be serious, we've never seen her with him." Miroku intterupted.
"I wouldn't expect to see her, she's the ruler of the Northern lands, and being with her brother Ques is probably keeping her with her duties. Sides, I know she's not dead, because if she was Sesshomaru would be too." Inuyasha told the group.
"So how many siblings does this kitsune have?" Shippo yelled.
"Four, from eldest to youngest, Namaiki, Queshinta, Kitai, and Zenzuishi. She's the youngest of them all." Explained Inuyahsa.
"So what happened after that Inuyasha?" Sango asked.
"We gave eachother the mating mark. The day after is when Kikyo sealed me to the tree." Inuyasha said, again looking to his hand.
"Ok then, so why did you neglect to tell us about her?" Kagome demanded.
"You can't see it, but when my mate is in danger or something is happening the mark will reveal itself. When I awoke the mark did not show itself, and I guessed she broke the connection between us. But I didn't stop hoping that wasn't the case. I didn't tell you guys because well, at the time I was still distant, reluctant to trust anyone with that kind of information. Plus with Naraku around, I thought somehow he'd get ahold of her, but now that I know she's alive, and he can't revive her on his side, I can tell you guys without having to worry about that. Oh and Sango, I have an idea for getting your brother back." Inuyasha inquired to the brown umber haired ningen.
"Huh, you do?" She asked enthusiastically.
"Since Sealii is back, once she's better and is up to date with what is happening, maybe she can convince Sesshomaru to help us out." Inuyasha thought, bringing his hand to his chin, and almost falling over.
"And why, just because she's here, could she get him to help us in any way?" Asked Shippo and Kagome together.
"Let's just say he has a soft spot for her. It could be that since she's his mates sister, he'd regret not helping her." He inwardly laughed.
"So basically, we can now count Sesshomaru as an ally?" Miroku asked, raising his brow.
"Pretty much, as long as Nama and her siblings are around, he'll help." Kagome gave him an inquisitive look.
"If that's true, then how come he's come after to kill you so much? Wouldn't she have forbade him from trying to kill you?" She had a point, and everyone agreed.
"Probably because he neglected to tell her I was alive. The bastard probably has gone through hell to keep her from knowing." Kagome stood up and stretched.
"Ok, well I'm glad you opened up to us Inuyasha. But now I'm tired." She sat back down, and cuddled into her sleeping bag, she inwardly wondered how many siblings the girl had, she was kinda in deep thought when he was telling them about her siblings.
"Yes thank you Inuyasha, for trusting us. It means more to us then you think." With that Sango went back to the river to think.
"It's true Inuyasha, your trust means the world to us who only have friends to live for." With that Miroku returned to his post to watch over Sango.
"It's nice to know you're friends, especially since they're the only thing left we have to live for, can trust us." Shippo said smiling, giving him a better meaning of what Miroku said, with that, Shippo walked back to sleep next to Sealii, who actually had heard the whole conversation, Kirara with a happy meow walked away as well.
"You should get some rest Inuyasha, I'm guessing with the road ahead of us, we'll need it." With that Kagome smiled, and turned over and fell asleep.
"Thanks Kagome, for being so understanding, I have to find a way to make it up to you." With that he jumped up into the trees to go to sleep.
Sealii had heard everything everyone had said. She closed her eyes once Shippo and Kirara came back to sleep cuddled up next to her. When she knew they were asleep, she opened her eyes again. That had to be the real Inuyasha, he would be the only one who knew about the things that happened when they were five. Yeah this Naraku person may be sneaky, but she highly doubted he would knowing things like him holding her. Then she thought of that girl Kagome, it seemed that Inuyasha liked her very much. He did want to make it up to her for keeping something like this hidden from her for so long. Looking to the side, she silently sighed. Did he have feelings for the girl, or has he not changed and he has been a jackass to her on and off? It was impossible to tell, but she'd have to talk sometime, and she planned on that being the first thing she would ask him. "What is that girl to you Inuyasha? Have you forgotten me, and instead now you love her?" Voicing her question, she allowed renewed tears to flow from her eyes.
Inuyasha's ears perked up, then flattened to his head. He realized at that moment she had listened to their conversation. The hanyou looked to the sky, might as well leave in the morning on good terms, so he decided to see if she would pretend to be asleep. Jumping down onto the ground, he walked over to the girl kitsune, making sure he was silent enough as to not awaken the small kitsune and neko youkai. Once getting close enough, he kneeled down and looked at her. Her eyes were open, and there were tears flowing down her cheeks. She didn't move her head, but her eyes looked in his direction, but she did not speak.
"Sealii, I just want you to know, Kagome is my friend, I still love you with all my heart, I always have. No one could ever replace you." After his statment, he awaited an answer.
"Tell me... What happened?" Emotionless, her eyes still locked with his.
"Huh?" Inuyasha was totally confused.
"The day you were put under that spell, what happened. I could feel your need for the jewel, and then surprise and shock and then there was darkness. What happened?" She dared him to answer that untruthfully.
"Well..." The inu hanyou told the kitsune hanyou everything that he could remember.
"I see. It's strange, why didn't I awaken as soon as you did? And what happened to my brother and sister?" Asked the girl, now looking into the sky, knowing the truth.
"I don't know, but if we can find Nama or Ques I'm sure we'll be able to find out." Stated a cautious inu.
"What, Nama and Ques are still alive? I thought they all died." Sealii said surprised, turning her head and her eyes to look into Inuyasha's amber orbs, well she did listen to most of the conversation. (A/N: It's not SAS Short Attention Span, it's DT Deep in Thought)
"No, Nama and Ques are still alive, I know for a fact they are. My brother is still alive, I should know. He keeps trying to kill me and get my Tetsuseiga from me. And I just have a wild feeling that Ques is still alive too." Inuyasha stated.
"Then does Nama know you are alive as well, and what's the Tetsuseiga?" She inquired.
"I don't think so, like I said earlier, as I'm sure you heard, he's probably gone through hell to keep her from hearing that I'm alive." Sealii blushed, she should have expected that he'd have known she'd overheard.
"Huh, I see, heh, our lives are too complicated. Can't anything be simple for once?" She asked the sky, allowing a new flow of tears to fall.
Inuyasha whiped away her tears, "If life was meant to be easy, then there would be no threats of evil. Besides the world would be boring."
She chuckled at this, "Yes the only thing that will save you from boredmon is violence." They both laughed, he didn't want to tell her anything just yet, about what would quell his boredom.
"So, I'm hoping this means you trust me a bit more." The hanyou looked to the right, hoping she'd say yes.
"Let's not push it, but yes, I think I can trust you a bit more. Inuyasha, I heard, I think it was KagomeChan, saying that I should rest at Kaede Village. I've decided, I'll go, but I'd rather ride with Kirara." She looked at the inu for a glint of evil in his eye, something that would show her, she couldn't trust him.
"I was hoping you'd let me take you there, heh, but I guess I shouldn't push it huh? Ok, we can do that." He smiled and held out a clawed hand to her.
Blankly she stared at him, "Ok then, night Inuyasha."
Inuyasha lowered his hand, and jumped back up into a tree, as Sealii closed her eyes and fell asleep. He should have expected that it wouldn't be so easy to gain her trust again. But he smiled anyways, at least she was talking to him. Another thing that made him glad, was the fact that she agreed to go to Kaede Village, where she would be safe from Naraku. For that he was grateful for her acceptance of the idea. There she would meet the old hag Kaede, she was just like Tanekonsei, (Ta-Nay-Cone-Say means kind old man if you missed that in the first chapter) and he knew she would immediately take a liking to her. Hopfully, after that, it would be a smoother ride uphill. With Naraku in his way constintly it wasn't going to be completely smooth, but with Sealii, and hopfully sooner or later Nama and Ques on their side, it'd be smoother then it has been.
Again he looked to the sky, the sun would be rising soon, and he knew, he should try and get some rest. When he awoke he'd tell his friends Sealii agreed to go to the village. He was sure, that Sango and Kagome, along with Shippo would probably somehow ride on Kirara with Sealii. Most likely, as long as she would be able to sit up, which he knew she would be able to. Her wounds weren't fatal seeing as she was a hanyou, but one, she couldn't deal with pain that well, and her body hasn't felt, ate or drank anything for fifty years. It's bound to make her body a little weak at least. Otherwise, she'd be fine, some food, and lots of water, and she'd be fine. At the thought, the hanyou sweatdropped, that girl could probably drink all Mount. Fuji if it was filled with water.
More sweatdrops appeared on his head, he knew then she'd start saying she had to pee. Even more sweatdrops appeared, he didn't mind it, but he didn't know if it'd weird out his friends. Then again, it wasn't his concern, plus he didn't care what they thought. As long as she was ok, he was happy. Though he did have to laugh at the thought of her saying she had to pee. When they were both together in his village, after she'd drink a lot of water, she'd stop in her tracks.
~Flash Back~
"Something wrong Sealii?" Asked a bewildered hanyou, to his best friend who stopped dead in her tracks.
"I just finished off a lot of water." She stated, wide eyed.
"Yeah, so?" He asked shrugging.
"I REALLY HAVE TO PEE!!!" She yelled, and began running around in circles, Inuyasha sweat dropped.
~End -o- Flash Back~
First time she did that, was when they were both 8, when they stopped playing kid games. Again, he had to laugh at the memory, and probably the new memories she'd create with just that skit. Oh yeah, with that alone she'd probably create a whole twenty years of memories. She really did drink too much water, not to mention the time her eldest brother Ques gave her all that sake. It took her forever to stop throwing up and even longer for her to stop going to the bathroom to pee. Blinking, he thought for a second, and hoped to KamiSama that Miroku wouldn't try to pull anything. Miroku always said he was a buddhist, but he highly doubted he could resist giving her sake. Hell, her brother sure couldn't resist doing it. With that last thought, Inuyasha drifted into a light sleep.
Hours later, Inuyasha woke up on the ground, his friends, and even Sealii looking down at him, with inquizzitive looks. Blinking furiously, he looked back up at them, he had no idea what he was doing on the ground.
"Inuyasha are you feeling ok?" Asked Sango.
"Yeah why? Are you feeling ok?" He asked, returning the question.
"Well, we woke up to you laughing your ass off, holding your sides." Miroku stated, helping him up to his feet, full knowing he could easily have done it himself.
"I uh..."
"It was the dream he had, I'm surprised I didn't wake up laughing." Sealii came in without notice, putting her index finger to her chin and her elbow in her hand.
"H-huh? How do you know SealiiChan?" Questioned Kagome.
"Well, even though I really don't trust him right now, we're still connected, and I could see his dreams. It was a dream when my brother Ques gave me a shit load of sake." A vein popped on the kitsune's forehead, and another one on her balled up fist. "That jackass gave me practically a river of sake. I couldn't stop puking and, and I had to pee for at least two weeks!" She said angerly, then pathetically sobbed.
"Hello I'm right here! I can hear what you're saying!" Inuyasha said irritated, Sealii just ignored this.
Inuyasha thought for sure, that'd gross his friends out, but to his surprise, they fell over and laughed. And then came the evil glint in Miroku's eyes. Oh yeah, he was going to do the same thing Ques did. He knew, and now Sealii would probably know it too, since it was in his thoughts, and he opened his mind to her.
"Well anyhow, so are we going to go to this village?" Sealii asked, wobbling over to a transformed Kirara.
"Yeah," Just as Sealii was about to fall over, Inuyasha caught her and sat her on Kirara's back, "We should get going, we're a fair distance from the village." With that, everyone agreed, and just as he thought, Sango, Kagome, and Shippo also hitched a ride on Kirara's back.
Within minutes, they were off on their way to Kaede Village, Miroku, unfortunately on Inuyasha's back.
"I don't see why the lecher can't just walk."
"Would you rather me sit on your shoulders Inuyasha?"
Inuyasha thought for a second, "Kami no, this is fine I guess." He huffed.
The girls burst up into fits of laughter. "KagomeChan, you wear strange clothes, how come?"
"Well I'm from a different time era. You see..." Kagome and Sango got into a whole story about how each of them met, and Shippo proudly told his meetings.
"Wow, so cool, I wanna see your era it sounds fun!" She squealed.
"Yeah, but you'd have to wear a hat like Inuyasha." Kagome smiled.
"Nah, I know concealing spells. Hehe, mother taught me one when I was little, but I couldn't do it. I guess I need to get a better grip on my spiritual powers." She said, smiling with her tongue sticking out.
"That's so cool, demonic and spiritual powers. That must be neat to have both." Kagome said, slightly jealous.
"Technically we all have demonic type powers in us. You see, everyone has rage inside of them, and when someone has enough rage, that energy is turned into a type of attack." She drew a circle in the air, then several more cirlcles in that one, "You see it's kind of like Ninjitsu, the energy is used by combing spiritual and physical energy through hand signs and chant. In this way, a person can transfom that spiritual energy, aka the rage or whatever emotion, and combine it with their physical energy, aka the exertion of energy their using for their attack. Doing this, they most likely have a weapon on hand, or else would be using hand to hand combat, also known as Taijutsu. Adding that with a snooty or angered comment creates a demonic like attack." Concluding her statement, she withdrew her hand from drawing in the air. "I learned that from my father!" She smiled brightly. (A/N: It's my fic it can happen XP)
"That's so cool!" Sango and Kagome exclaimed at the same time.
"Yeah, but the thing is, you probably would never notice it." Again she smiled and stuck her tongue out.
"Probably too caught up in kicking ass." Sango agreed, laughing.
"True, true." Kagome agreed.
As Inuyasha watched this exchange he smiled, hearing yells from Miroku to watch out for tree branches that would whack his head off. The hanyou ignored this, thus causing Miroku's head to almost be lopped off, about twenty bazillion more times. "Damnit Inuyasha, watch where you're going!"
"Say SangoChan, everytime Miroku gets close to having headless shoulders, you gasp. Is something going on between you?" Asked the curious girl kitsune.
"Absolutely nothing is going on between me and that baka lecher." Sango stated angerly, sweat dropping as she turned her head.
"Uh huh, yeah thought so. She's so in love with him isn't she KagomeChan?" She whispered to a now histerically laughing Kagome.
"Hey!" Sango yelled, and the girls began a small tussel on the back of a nervous neko youkai known as Kirara, sweat dropping, Shippo went to sit on Kirara's head. Who knew how insane girls could get, they were yelling like banshi's.
"Uh... I'm not going to say anything." Both Miroku and Inuyasha wanted to bust up laughing, their faces were screwed up just trying not to laugh.
"I would hope not, unless you want your ass kicked InuKuso!" Came a voice from below.
"What the hell?" Sealii wondered looking down from the verbal fight, into the forest where she saw a colbolt eyed ookami youkai.
Immediately Sealii stood up with great balance, baring her fangs at the intruder. "Who the hell are you?" She growled, ready to rip his throat out.
"Calm down SealiiChan, that's Koga, a friend. He doesn't travel with us though." Kagome explained, all of a sudden getting picked up by Koga, who was rudly standing on Kirara's back.
"Koga you're being rude to Kirara, how about we stop for a break." Sango suggested, as the neko youkai landed on the ground, everyone jumped off, and greeted Inuyasha on the ground as well.
"Ok so who is this baka, and why shouldn't I kill his ass now?" Questioned Sealii, still growling, baring her fangs.
"Yes tell me why she can't kill his ass now?" Inuyasha asked thoughtlessly.
"Inuyasha." Kagome said, lifting her head to the sky.
"Oh-h-h-h shit." Inuyasha held his ears, praying he'd be saved from the dreaded...
"SIT BOY!!! (or osuwari)" Kagome yelled, everyone went up with a roar of laughter, especially Koga and Sealii.
"Y-you're supposed to be on my side Sealii." Inuyasha groaned from three feet into the ground.
"Couldn't help it, that was just damn funny. I'm guessing that's the neckless you were talking about, ne KagomeChan?" Kagome nodded.
"Yup. Ok, so now, Koga, what are you doing here?" Kagome asked, smiling nervously.
"I just wanted to see you Kagome, so who's the new person you've got here?" He asked.
Sealii had her legs crossed, and her hands were grabbing her ankles, her left leg lifting up and down at a fast pace, "You smell kinda funny ookami." She said with a straight face.
Everyone busted, except Koga, "Why you insolant little wh-..." He was cut off.
"I wouldn't say that last word, she will kick your ass, she may be injured, but she will kick your ass." Inuyasha stated.
"Koga, this is our newest friend SealiiChan, she's a kitsune hanyou, and she's well, she can tell you that when she wants." Sango smiled.
"Yup, yup, I'm a mutt like InuChan, chan, chan, but it's strange because I have demon parents." She smiled, lifting one brow.
"What's with the mutts in this group?"
"Is there something wrong with me and Inuyasha?" Sealii asked, her temper flaring dangerously high.
"No, nothings wrong with it!" Koga said, seriously afraid of her fire filled eyes, that seemed to have grown infront of his eyes, either that or he shrunk.
"Good, I suggest you get used to it. So, how've ya been?" She smiled.
Koga stared at her in disbelief, everyone busted at his terrified stare. "Eh, I have been good."
"Hold on wait, I think I know you. You're name is Koga right?" She asked, getting in his face and pointing at it.
"Yeah, what's your point?" Wasn't she listening? Kagome had told her his name.
"My family took care of you when you were younger and you got seperated from your pack. I'm the one you taught the language too." She giggled.
"No wonder you seemed familiar." Koga said looking to the sky.
"Ok well anyways, I'm gonna go sit by the river, cuz I can." Everyone blinked at her, and she smiled like there was no tomorrow, and she walked off.
It figured, a day after she'd come back to this reality, the waning crescent moon would show it's ugly but magnificent face. She dreaded becoming human, but then again it didn't bother her like it did Inuyasha. She may be human by the time sunsets, but she could still scare the shit outta most anybody. She knelt down infront of the river and looked into her reflection. Her skin was pale, she supposed she'd feel better after drinking some water. Realizing this, she cupped her hands beneath the surface of the slow rushing water. Cupping the water in her hands and breaking away from the river she brought it to her mouth and began to drink. Twenty minutes later, she felt like a watersac, and she really had to pee. She ran around and did what all demons do when they had to pee, find an outhouse. (A/N: I'm not gonna make my characters go in the bushes ok?! XP)Which luckily they were close to a secluded house that had one.
After releaving her bladder she looked at the place, it looked old and forgotten. She decided after a nap, and maybe catching her some fish, though she detested it, she'd explore the house. So she walked back to the river, and caught her, and the others quite a bit of fish. They all looked at her, but Koga immediately started a fire. Knowing humans could not eat fish raw like a demon could. At least an hour or two went by, the fish was done and everyone had a healthy helping. After that, Sealii went to the rivers side, curled up like a domesticated dog, and fell asleep. Wanting to know if she was ok, Inuyasha went to go check on the kitsune hanyou. Seeing her laying down on the rivers side, he went to investigate. He peered over her shoulder, only to come face to face with a peaceful sleeping face. He smiled then left to go back to the camp, he should have known she'd fall asleep.
Opening one eye after the inu hanyou left, she laughed inwardly, how easily she could trick him. Now was the time to go off and explore that house. Somehow, she knew the house held huge secrets, and she intended to find out what secrets it hid. Silently giggling, she got up and snuck off into the forest, and towards the old house. Little did she know, Inuyasha thought she might be up to something, sensing it in the mark. So he and the other's stayed a fair distance away from her, keeping an eye out for her. Sealii's face sported a massive grin, it's been forever since she last explored an unknown place. The girl couldn't help the mischievious grin that was placing itself on her face. Her mind wandered, and she couldn't help but think of the mysteries the house could hold. It was a lot different from what she was used to, then again she had been asleep for fifty years, some things were bound to change. Well, at least somethings were bound to change, a little.
The girl walked up to the houses' big double doors, and lightly pushed on one without knocking. She knew it was rude not to knock, but who would be living in a shabby rundown house like that? Huge holes were all around the house, it looked half eaten, half blown up from a bomb. There was soot laying everywhere, and it had a foul musty smell. This house held no livable conditions, therefore it really wasn't rude not to knock. When the doors opened without a protest, the girl slid inside. What she saw, made her eyes buldge, to three times the width of her head. The place looked ginormo compared to what it looked like on the outside of it. Right infront of her was a really old, shabby looking staircase, to the side was a huge arch and a hallway, the same on the other side. To the top of the arch looked to be at least five hundred feet high, much taller then what it looked outside.
On the walls were pictures depicting a great war, walking over to examine one on the left, she noticed at the very bottom, standing against the evil demons in the middle was another. He was wearing a red gi and hakama and had silverish white hair, and two cute dog ears. It looked exactly like Inuyasha! She went to each picture, and in each depicted another person she knew, in some cases she didn't know. Another one had a girl in traditional red and white miko garb, with raven black hair, she was standing slightly to the left of the middle of the picture, and slightly upward. This was Kagome. The picture next to it had a tall boy, with pointy elf-like ears, he had chestnut brown hair and a teal green bow in his hair. He wore navy blue hakama, and a teal like gi with little leaves on it, with a fur vest. That boy was an older Shippo, who was standing slightly more left and up then Kagome was in the last picture.
She had also found one of a small a ningen, with black hair and orange and white checkered bubble kimono, and a green toad like youkai, with a staff with two heads, standing just a little right of Shippo's position. Again, there was another ookami, dressed in white fur, red hair and a purple flower in her hair, this one Sealii had no idea who she was. But in this picture the ookami was to the right of Koga. Being that there were no more pictures to the left, she went to the right. Above the picture of Inuyasha, she saw herself, shoulder to shoulder with her hanyou. Finding these pictures to becoming a little creepy, she continued to look. She found a picture of Sango, her brown umber hair blowing in the wind, standing to the right and up of Sealii's position.
Her black and pink slayers gear looking torn. A feeling told her that the next one would have Miroku, standing slightly off of Sango's postion to the right and upwards. She was correct, there with his plum and black monk garb, with his black hair in a tiny ponytail. She next found a very tall demon, he had long silvery white hair, and elf-like ears, he had mounts of armor, standing to the left of Miroku, this, of course was Sesshomaru. In the next picture, was Koga, standing next to the tall girl and the toad. They both were standing in a position next to Sesshomaru. This was beginning to become really weird. But when she noticed there were no more pictures on the right side of the house, she went to the left side, where she found more.
She found in four different pictures, Zen slightly off from the position of Kagome, Ques slightly off the position of Sango, Kitai next to Ques, and Zen next to Kagome. Whatever all this meant, one thing she did know, it meant her two siblings weren't really dead. The last one held a picture of a man, his hair was flaring out like a fan, in the total background of the last picture. He had blood red eyes, and an evil grin, she had no clue who this was. When there were no more pictures to the right or left of the stair case, she decided to see if there was one picture where all of the ones to the right and left combined. She looked up the staircase, and there was one more picture, she laughed inwardly, of course there would be one that combined them all.
She quickly made her way up the stairs, but carefully and catiously. Once she reached the landing, she walked a couple feet to examine the picture. Just as she thought, she and Inuyasha were in the middle, Nama behind Inuyasha, Sesshomaru behind Sealii, Ques next to Shessomaru, and Sango next to Ques, while Zen was next to Kagome. Another row up was from right to left, Shippo, the Ningen and the toad, then the ookami she didn't know, Koga next to her, Kitai, then Miroku. The evil one was in the background, surrounding them. They were all facing her, on each of their faces, their own grin, a message was in this picture somewhere, but she didn't know where. Then she heard a voice.
(A/N: This is what the rows look like. Miroku l Kitai l Koga l Ayame l Rin and Jaken l Shippo
Sango l Queshinta l Sesshomaru l Namaiki l Zenzuishi l Kagome
Sealii l Inuyasha
Isn't it obvious who's with who? Dun worry San/Miroku the rest you'll have to wait.)
"This is your future." Came a cold chilling voice.
"But nothing of the future is predicted, it just has me and some people in a sort of triangle... Thing."
"You will perish, and you know it." Sealii turned around baring her fangs.
"Who's there?!" Inuyasha and the other's hid in the darkness, how did she know they were there?
"Fool, you will be sealed away, everyone who opposes him will be sealed." Sango and Miroku began to examine the pictures, and silently showed everyone else.
"W-what are you?" Inuyasha looked at Sealii.
"I will get inside your soul and tear it apart." She held her head.
"No, I won't do your bidding!" His eyes widened, Kagome screamed, she couldn't control her powers.
"You have no say, I have my ways of persuasion." Kagome's eyes went blank, and she ran up the stares with demonic speed.
"No!" The miko pulled out her bow and arrow and shot at Sealii, but Inuyasha got her out of the way in time, Kagome collapsed to the ground, breathing heavily.
"SealiiChan, please listen to me, we have to get out of this house, it holds a great demonic arua." Called Kagome.
"Why should I trust you?! You just attacked me!" She struggled out of Inuyasha's arms, and landed on the ground.
"See through deception young kitsune. I know you can." Came a voice from no where.
"Ta-Tane?" She asked the air.
"Stay out of this!" The cold voice said to the kind one, seemingly slashing it.
"See through deception... Huh!" She gasped, and ran up the stairs, and grabbed Kagome, and immediately yelped when she was shocked with her miko powers.
"S-SealiiChan I can't control my powers..." She stuttered, the hanyou breathed, and picked Kagome up once more, yelping, but holding on tight, and running down the stairs, which were now crumbling, the whole house was.
"We have to hurry out of here!" Cried Shippo.
"But it seems that every step we take, we go back three more!" Stated Sango.
"It's a spell! Miroku, you have to do something!" Miroku nodded and chanted as he ran.
As they continued to run in vain, the floor began to die away, and just as they were about to fall in an infininte abyess, Miroku broke the spell, and they all sped out of the house. Kagome still in Sealii's arms, her powers were now under control. Everyone figured, that right there, the house had a special control over Kagome, that controled her powers, instead of her. Sealii let Kagome down from her arms, and then collapsed. Inuyasha ran and caught her before she hit the ground, and looked at her lovingly. She didn't know how proud of her he was. Then again, perhaps she did know how proud he was.
Kagome looked to her friends, they all seemed shaken, they had all seen a glimpse of the pictures. But only Sealii, Inuyasha, and herself had seen the one above the staircase. The pictures everyone had seen, raced through their minds, they were all by somebody they loved, though some tried to deny in their minds that was the way they felt. The inu hanyou really wanted to know what was going on with her talking to the air, but decided one, he shouldn't press it, two, that it was likely anyone who was on the landing could hear whatever voices she was talking to.
Sealii started to stir in Inuyasha's arms, then shook her head. She gave Inuyasha a look saying she wanted to stand on her own two feet, so he stood her up. She asked Sango and everyone if they thought it was safe to travel. Sango told her that they would continue to the village. So the three girls, plus Shippo got on Kirara's transformed form. But then, Sealii jumped off, and told Miroku to go with Sango, Kagome and Shippo. Inuyasha wondered, did this mean she'd let him carry her, or was she going to run herself. Well as she, Koga, and he himself began to run, he found out it was both. She ran for most of the way, but she grew tired and weary from the earlier events, and allowed Inuyasha to carry her. Kagome had to smile at the pair, it looked as though Sealii wasn't in this world as of that moment.
Her face looked relaxed and happy, probably thinking of the first time they were really happy together in eachother's arms. The whole trip was silent, no one dared break the silence, except the animals in the wild. No sooner was the sunsetting, did they reach the village. Amber eyes looked to the sky, tonight was the first night of the waning crescent moon, he had to hurry and get his mate away from human eyes.
"I'm going to go on ahead." With that, he ran faster, and was down by the hut within minutes.
"What's that all about?" Kagome wondered aloud.
"I have a feeling it has something to do with the night in which she turns human." Stated Miroku softly.
"Probably." Sango agreed, and they sped up towards Kaede's hut.
"So why are we here again?" Koga asked, never having met Kaede.
The three ningen and the kitsune youkai ignored the ookami youkai's question. They arrived at the hut, just as Inuyasha and Kaede were exiting the hut. Inuyasha came out his head hung low, everyone guessed Sealii was probably pretty weak, taking all that pain, exerting herself, and not long before becoming a human. Kaede reassured him that Sealii would be fine after getting lots of rest, food and water. But it still pained him to see her look so weak.
"So who's the old hag?" Koga asked.
Kagome stole Miroku's staff and hit Koga upside the head, "That 'old hag' is Kaede, a great priestess." Kagome said angerly, handing Miroku his staff, who just gave her a bewildered and kind of scared look.
"Gomenasai Kagome." He said, his hands protecting the knot on his head.
Kagome looked at Inuyasha, "Inuyasha, you can't blame yourself for this. We already know Naraku attacked her, that much is obvious, who else would set a trap perfect for her personality. You couldn't have known that house was a trap."
He looked at Kagome, "Thanks Kagome." And then they all went inside the hut.
As they walked in, they saw Sealii laying on a pile of hay, Kaede handing her a bowl of soup. "Domo arigatou KaedeBaabaaSan. This looks delicious." She said, slowly eating her helping.
Once everyone entered the hut, Sealii felt uncomfortable, for some reason she just didn't like being around the male portion that were in there. Excluding Shippo since he too was a kitsune, plus he was just a little kid. Inuyasha could sense her distress, and asked Miroku and Koga to sit outside with him. Koga replied with a, "Hell no InuKuso..." and with that, earned himself a chilling death glare that made chills run down his back. Sealii may not fully trust Inuyasha, but she could still get mad when someone insulted him. The inu hanyou, found that once they left the hut, Sealii calmed down considerably, and even began to talk to the other women inside the hut. He didn't bother listening, he knew she was probably telling them about the village in which she lived most of her life. Things she's done, about herself, her hobbies and stuff like that. Most likely they are all getting to know eachother.
Outside, Koga wanted to know why they had to be outside, and Miroku tried to explain to him. But Koga didn't know about what happened, he hadn't heard, to him the kitsune had just dropped off the face of the earth. After the millionth time Miroku tried to explain things to Koga, Inuyasha told them both to just drop it. Somehow, that erupted into a fight, and a fight cloud surrounded Koga and Inuyasha. Leaving a frustrated Miroku, and also the women to stare out of the huts doorway. All of them blinked at the inu and ookami. Such children they could be, as they fought, Sealii smiled at Miroku and invited him in the hut, knowing she was used to him. Her only warning to him was that he not try to slip her sake, if he did, she'd lop off his head. Nodding, Miroku walked inside, and sat dangerously close to Sango, but he was slightly trembling. Her threat scared him, knowing she'd probably keep her promise.
So he decided, once she trusted them all, and became close knit friends, is when he'd slip her sake. Deciding this, he still kept up his act of being scared. Sango looked at him, he was almost pathetic. Scratch that, he was pathetic, Sealii was sweet natured, and only really attacked people she'd hate. Sango thought back to something Sealii had said, "Inuyasha attacked me back in the forest... But I never attacked him back... I couldn't, I still love him.... I wanted to work it out...." She knew she'd never attack them, unless of course Naraku was controlling her, then again he'd probably have a hard time with that. Kagome also had made some hunches, guessing by how her eyes still held 'child-like wonder' she guessed she was probably hyperactive just as she and Inuyasha had said.
Most likely though, they wouldn't see that side of her until this whole betrayl thing was past them. Until then, they could wait to see her true personality. I mean, could you blame her for not showing how she truly was, she was in a room full of people she barely knew, and she woke up to betrayl. Wouldn't you be apprehensive to trust anyone and everyone? Besides that, Kagome, Sango, Shippo, Miroku, Kirara, and Kaede really took a liking to the kitsune. Of course Inuyasha loved Sealii, but Koga had only known her for hours, and really didn't care.
Hours went by with talking, and of informing the kitsune of things that have happened. She took in all the information quite well, seeing as how things have gotten really confusing. In turn, the kitsune had information for them, that complicated things even more. Sealii pointed out that there must be a connection between the shapeshifter that attacked her father when she was five, and Naraku. Kaede thought for a moment, perhaps Onigumo was just a pawn in Naraku's game or, perhaps, the shapshifter from seventy years, and Naraku from fifty years ago were one in the same. However it was pieced together, it still racked their brains. They didn't bust up laughing until they saw Sealii thinking so hard, she not only confused herself, but made herself dizzy. Who knew thinking in circles could do that to you. Hearing the roaring laughter, that not only confused him, but hurt his ears, he looked in to see what all the commotion was about. On the hay pile, he saw Sealii swaying from side to side, with the swirly eyes upon her face.
He was about to go in when Koga grabbed him and they began fighting again. Seeing this, Kagome busted up in renewed laughter, causing everyone else to laugh furiously. Well, at least Sango, Sealii, and Shippo. Kaede just raised her brow, and Miroku chuckled lightly. Once again, after more talking, more laughing, and quite a bit of falling over, Inuyasha tried to enter the hut. As he expected, once Koga tried to grab him, he jump into the hut, accidently landing his feet in the fire. He may be a hanyou, but that would still hurt like a bitch. Sealii fell off the pile of hay, holding her sides, crying, she was laughing so hard. After Inuyasha realized his feet were in the fire, he jumped up and fell backward on his back, blowing on his feet. This caused Kagome, Sango and Shippo to laugh harder, Miroku even began to laugh harder, his eyes tearing. Sealii had just lost it, and Kaede sweat dropped, how did it ever fall upon her to guide a bunch of children. Koga walked into the hut, and laughed at the pathetic sight.
Once the momentary insanity died down, everyone made themselves comfortable, and got ready to go to sleep. Kagome said her good nights to everyone, and when she went to say good night to Sealii, she found a ball of ocean blue fabric and three kitsune tails. The raven haired girl blinked, Sealii literally rolled up into a ball. The tight ball began to quiver, Kagome got up and took a step toward it, but Inuyasha shook his head no. Kagome stopped and then sat back down on her sleeping bag, watching Inuyasha closely. He got up, and slowly crawled over to her, his presence calmed her, but he didn't go all the way to hold her. She just began to trust him, and didn't need her thinking he was trying to suffacate her or something. But it was nice to know, that he could quell her fears, even from a short distance. Kagome smiled, Sealii had come out of her ball and she was sprawled out on the hay. Everyone looked at her and Inuyasha, and for the first time since Sealii came into their group, he started to act like nothing had happened.
"What?" He asked offensivly, blushing.
"Nothing, we said nothing." Kagome smiled, and cuddled into her sleep bag, and fell asleep. Sango cuddled on one side of Kirara, while Miroku cuddled on the other side of her, and both fell asleep. Koga told "InuKuso" that he was going back home to his pack, and that he better take care of "his" Kagome.
Shippo curled up on Kirara's tail, and Kaede fell asleep on her futon. Inuyasha was the only one left awake, but not for long, he soon drifted off to sleep. Again that night, he had dreams of his past with Sealii. He woke up trying to control his laughter, but Sealii was in his arms. He hadn't moved but she had. Looking from left to right, he thought it best not to move her, so he unwrapped his arms, and turned over to his other side. He prayed to KamiSama in his mind, that Sealii didn't think he was trying something. Besides, she was the one that moved there, though the extra warmth from her body was a good feeling to him, she still didn't trust him. Sealii opened one of her eyes, she felt a cold chill.
She sat up, held her arms to her chest and balled her fists lightly, "I-Inuyasha... It's too cold... Can you..." She looked to the side and blushed.
The silver haired boy turned around and looked at her, "Can I what?"
"Can... Can you hold me, since it's so cold, I thought the hay would keep me warm, and the fire isn't doing much. But I feel warm... When I'm in your arms." She replied quietly.
"Sealii, do you even want to trust me again?" He asked hurt.
"Of course I do, I'm just confused right now, I've heard everything you said about this Naraku person, but how am I supposed to know? I've never seen Naraku." Tears were brimming in her eyes, Inuyasha drew Sealii close to his chest.
"I know, but I'd hoped that my saying that it was him would be good enough. Besides, my friends know of him too, so does Sesshomaru, another thing, I didn't even know you broke away from the spell until I found you at the river." With this Sealii's eyes opened wide.
"Sesshy knows of this Naraku fella?! You didn't know I awoke from the spell? Well that's information I could have used from the start." She huffed.
"Not like you'd believe me." He chuckled.
"Hmm, so Naraku must be the same shapeshifter, hmm, peculiar. Is this Naraku person really strong?" She wondered, stroking her chin.
"Well, we've been after him for at least six months, and we still haven't gotten much closer to figuring out how to defeat him." Inuyasha stated, his head hung low, his face turning blue with embarrassment.
"I have no option, but to conclude, you sir, are the real Inuyasha. Even if I did try to fight back with that imposter, I wouldn't have been able to hit him, he was too fast. But you sir, I can kick your ass anyday." She smiled, whispering her statement, she had just recently played back the fight between her and the imposter Inuyasha, and realized how much faster that Inuyasha had been.
"So does this mean you'll trust me now?" He asked hopefully.
"Hehehe." She replied to his question by moving her head to the left, exposing her neck, then evilly moved her head back center and smiled, "Hai, but your friends are here, so you can't do nothin." She giggled, using his bad grammer.
He grinned, "Not now, but sooner or later. Prefibly whenever you feel like it."
"Feel like what?" She asked, totally confused.
"Whatever you like." He chuckled, and she giggled, holding her close, he kissed her lightly, and then laid down, the girl tightly wound in his arms.
"Ai' shiteru Inuyasha." She smiled, and cuddled deeper into his chest, and fell asleep.
Inuyasha blinked, then smiled, "I love you too, Koishii."
Shippo, Sango, Miroku, and everyone else opened one eye, and stared at the now cuddling couple. How fun it was to be evil for the friends. The whole moment was so damn cute, the only thing that made them mad, was that she referred to them as Inuyasha's friends. At that moment, they decided to make a point in which to state, "What are friends for?" With that, they knew she could call them friends, and since no one else was around, she could call them family. Well, Kagome still had her family, but in Fuedal Japan, these people were her family. I mean, who else can she call family for right now?
Her siblings were no where to be found, well, at least they didn't know where Namaiki and Queshinta were now. According to Inuyasha, the two eldest were still alive, and the two middle children would most likely show up sooner or later. But to Kagome, this still meant that they were all family. Kaede, she saw as the Grandmother of the group. Sango, herself, and most of the time Shippo, she saw as adult-like, Miroku and Inuyasha had their moments of acting like adults, but not nearly enough. So then that left the lecher and the inu hanyou, they were the children of the family.
Although the gumi, besides Inuyasha, haven't seen much of Sealii's personality, Kagome thought, she'd fit into all the groups. Then again, she'd most likely fall into the catagorey between adult and child. When this thought crossed Kagome's mind, she began to wonder about her siblings, and both Inuyasha and Sealii's parents. The eldest sibling, Nama, she had to be responsible seeing as how she was the ruler of the Northern lands. Ques, she thought, must be pretty responsible, guessing the reason they had never come upon him was because he was helping Nama. Kitai and Zenzuishi though, she didn't know what to think of them. Both their parents, she wanted to know more about too, she wanted to know about all her friends' family. Her mind asked, what did they look like, how did they meet, what were they like, were they like their children when they were younger? What would they say of their childrens accomplishments at this point?
So many questions were whirling through Kagome's mind she almost screamed out, "I wanna know!" But quickly stopped herself when she told herself, there were two hanyou, and two demon in the hut with extremely sensitive hearing. Well, she knew Inuyasha and Kirara had extremely sensitive hearing, she didn't know if Sealii or Shippo did. Though it was highly unlikely, that they didn't have awesome hearing.
"Wahh!!!!!" Sealii yelled, jumping up from Inuyasha's arms, pointing at him. "AHH!!!!" Everyone else yelled, even Inuyasha, everyone had the shit scared outta them. Inuyasha quickly thought she must have thought for some reason he was trying to hurt her.
"Lemme see that!" She yelled, pointing towards Inuaysha.
"Huh?" He asked, extremely confused.
"Your sword, dumbass!!" Her eyes were two acute triangles of angry, or was it excited fire?
Then hanyou handed her his sword, and once she held it in her hands, she rubbed it against her face. Everyone stared at her, the hell was she doing.
"This sword has a great past!" She murmuered.
"What are you talking about?" Everyone questioned, confused as hell.
"Inuyasha's father used this to protect him and his mother when he was born. And Another sword to bring her back to life, this sword is telling me someone killed her, but this swords brother brought her back to life." She replied, still rubbing the sword against her warm cheek.
"How the hell would you know something like that? You didn't even know me till I was 5!" Inuyasha stated.
"Your sword called to me, and told me to hold it. When I did, it told me of its past. It seems you've been through a lot Inuyasha." Her voice saddened slightly, at one particular memory the sword showed her. Sure Inuyasha was trasnforming, and kissing him was the only way to get him to come to his senses, but it still hurt. Then again, she was glad Kagome did what she did, but she almost puked when she saw Kikyo forcing herself on her Inuyasha.
"... You've seen everything I've went through since I got the Tetsuseiga?" If the answer was yes, then he knew she'd be hurt, how the hell could he explain being kissed by Kikyo...? And Kagome?
"Yes, and it's ok Inuyasha, I know Kagome did what she had to do to save you. And I'm grateful. I'm guessing, if you hadn't done what you did KagomeChan, Inuyasha wouldn't be here like he is now. Thank you so much. But Inuyasha, couldn't you have, I dunno, maybe socked Kikyo in the kisser? I nearly puked when I saw her kiss you!" Kagome and the other's had to laugh at this, it seemed they had one more Kikyo disliker.
"Well, I was, in a state of shock. And the one time I was fucking unconscious." He stated, looking to the side and blushed, as his friends kept laughing.
"But seriously Inuyasha! Couldn't you have kicked her ass, instead of letting her kiss you?" Sealii asked, her face screwed up, half trying not to laugh, and half trying not to show how disgusted she was, seeing his lips against that bitches.
"I told you I was shocked!" Inuyasha said turning and crossing his arms.
"So you know about Kikyo?" Kagome asked her, everyone else, well their voices were just kinda being held back with lumps of laughter.
"Know her yes, hate her, hell yes. I met her a couple times, the bitch looks down on me like I'm some kind of whore." Her eyes glared daggers at the wall, like it had turned into Kikyo, "I swear, there were so-o-o-o-o many times I wished I would have stuck my foot up her ass and sent her flying." At this, everyone, even Inuyasha, busted up laughing, surprisingly enough Kaede did too. She knew her sister was... A whore, she may not have seemed like it, but she was, Kami knows why the hell she protected the jewel.
Everyone looked to the old woman who was sitting quietly on her futon, "What?" She asked, "This old woman knows her sister better than any, I know my sister was and still is a whore."
The gumi blinked, they did hear, what they thought they just heard? Once they decided that yes, she had said what they thought she said, they busted up in hysterical laughter. It had never occured to them that Kaede, Kikyo's sister would agree that Kikyo, of all people, was a whore. "Ye children did not know my sister as well as you thought. Inuyasha, do ye not remember when you said she smelled a bit different, one of the many times you came to visit her?"
"Um, pretty much everytime I visited her, she smelled different." Inuyasha stated, come to think of it, he didn't even think he knew her true scent. "But I thought that was so demons wouldn't know it was her."
"Iie Inuyasha, she was with other youkai, hanyou, and ningen. I know not how no one else saw this, but the village of the Demon Slayers were fooled, and thus my sister Kikyo possessed the jewel of four souls. If it had been my decision, I would have saught out someone more pure to take care of the jewel. If around at the time, I would have chosen you KagomeChan. I have never seen someone as pure as you child." The old woman said, smiling at Kagome.
"Thank you KaedeBaabaaSan, but I'm not that pure, I mean c'mon, everyone has their quercks." Kagome said, waving her hands infront of her face, blushing and embarrassed.
Sealii went up to Kagome, studied and sniffed her, "Yup, you're right KaedeBaabaaSan, KagomeChan, you're one of the purest people I've ever met, and I know my brother." She put her right hand just under her lip, balling her hand, and giggling, Kagome blushed even more.
"Are you saying you can smell someone's purity or something?" Questioned the now crimson red faced Kagome.
"No, but whatever it is, I like your scent, it smells pretty, like hmm... Sakura blossoms." She said, "But I can sense your purity, yes everyone does have their quercks, but out of all the people I've met, you have the fewest."
"She's right KagomeChan, but I think both of you have pure hearts." Entered Sango.
"None sense, all four of you beautiful ladies have pure hearts and souls. Nothing can taint any of you, not even the lose of your innocence, could it take away your purity." Miroku stated, reaching his hand out to Sango's butt.
"What are you trying to get out of saying that lech?" Glared Sango.
"Why nothing, my dear lovely Sango." He chuckled, groping the taijiya's bottom.
"Pervert!" SLAP! And the lech is down for the moment.
"Idiot." Both Inuyasha and Shippo stated at the same time, they looked at eachother. "Wow we said the same thing. Wow, we did it again. Stop it. No you stop it. Ok this is getting annoying." Both of them shut up, and then everyone busted. "You know Kaede, Kagome, Sango, Sealii, Miroku's right about one thing, you four are really pure." Both of them said again, veins popped and Kaede raised a brow, this was very strange.
"Hey Kaede, if we're all so pure, then wouldn't you have saught out Sealii? She's pure too." Kagome stated, now thinking about it.
"Aye, ye are right KagomeChan, but I did not know of SealiiChan, it has only been my sister that has ever seen her. All I knew of her was of what my sister told me. SealiiChan, ye must trust me, she gave your name and family a slanderous reputation around our village." With this Sealii's brow went up as if interested.
"What, exactly did she say KaedeBaabaaSan?" Inwardly, Kaede smiled, her sister may had acted kind to her, but it still didn't mean she drove Kaede nuts.
"Whenever she came back to the village wounded, she would tell the worried villagers a young kitsune with two red tails, and one silver tail, chestnut hair, red ears, and light green eyes attacked her for no reason." Kaede raised her head when she saw Sealii's eyes light up with firey anger, her eyes again acute triagles, her mouth wide open, another acute triangle, of fury. "She spread rumor that you were crazed, and that you had a lazy eye." That had done it, her eyes opened wide and she grew angry.
"Ok, where is that bitch?! I'm kicking her ass now!!!" Sealii began to stomp out of the hut.
"I don't think so, not when your in this condition." Stated Inuyasha, holding onto the sleeve of her haori.
"And what, sir, may I ask, makes you think you can stop me?" The girl glared daggers at him, she need to go kick Kikyo's ass right now.
Inuyasha poked her lightly on the shoulder, where Naraku had struck her the harshest, she winced and toppled over, "You can't even stand being lightly poked on the shoulder." He then poked her on her legs, side, and neck, well when he poked her neck, she let out more of a moan then a yelp. "You wouldn't be able to move fast enough to dodge her arrows." Inuyasha grinned, the girl was blushing, there were so many ways to torture her, and making her moan infront of their friends was the best torture ever.
"You're gonna pay for that you ditzafrenic baka." She glared at him once again, she was so going to get him back for making her yelp like that infront of his friends, much less making her moan when he touched her neck.
"I look forward to it." He purred in her ear.
His hot breath on her ear made shivers go up and down her spine, she wasn't thinking of anything perverted for payback, but his voice was low and seductive, erotic even. "W-well we'll see how much you like it when it comes." She stammered, her heart racing. Wanting to act like herself for a moment, "I can sense a smell."
Everyone fell over, "How can you sense a smell?" Sango and Kagome asked, sweat dropping.
"I don't know." Everyone fell over again, seeing as how they started to get themselves up before she stated she didn't know.
"Ok, that was just random." Miroku pointed out.
"I know, that's me! I'm random." Smiling, the kitsune girl was laughing her ass off inwardly, it was nice to know they at least wouldn't think her stupid or something for the way she acted. Little did she know, the others had already guessed she'd act somewhat like this. After a few more moments of laughing, everyone said good night again, and fell asleep.
No one questioned why Sealii was sleeping in Inuyasha's arms. In reality they didn't have to, they already knew, somehow that she trusted him again. To Kagome actually, it was obvious, it was obvious also to Kaede, Sango, and Shippo. Sealii was able to feel how much everyone trusted Inuyasha, how much they depended on him, and thus, she knew that she would be able to trust him. To Miroku, it didn't concern him at the moment, his only concerns were Naraku, and how to get Sango to see how much he loved her. Though, he did know why Sealii was more trusting, or so it seemed at the moment. Everyone slept in peace, and the first to wake up was Sealii. She sat up and stretched, Inuyasha tried to pull her down back to his side, but it didn't work.
Inuyasha was just about to wrap his arms around her and pull her down, but he sensed her fear. "Sealii what's wrong?"
"W-who are these people?" She shook with fear.
"Huh? What do you mean? You know these people, you met them two days ago." Inuyasha, getting worried, he wrapped his arms around her, which seemed to calm her slightly.
"I-I did? I can't remember... Wait," She looked at the sword that was at Inuyasha's hip, "Did I rub that sword against my face?"
"Yeah you did." Everyone now awake, were thouroughly confused.
"Oh, then that explains it, your sword called to me last night. Told me of its past, in doing so, I lost a little bit of my memory." Stated the bewildered girl, "Come to think about it, I do know you guys. Sango, Miroku, Kagome, Kaede, Shippo, and Kirara right? Yeah, that's all of you. The only thing I can't remember is when I woke up, and what happened when I did." Everyone sighed in relief, it was better she didn't remember that.
"Well that's good, that's something you really don't need to remember. But do you remember the pictures in that house?" Questioned Inuyasha.
"Yeah, there were a few people in the pictures that I didn't know though. Like the Ookami in the white fur, and the toad and ningen in the orange and white bubble kimono." She said, her finger resting on her chin.
"Oh, well the ningen is Rin, the toad is Jaken, and the white ookami is Ayame." Kagome said, clearing that up for her.
"Oh, otays." She said, smiling, sounding like a little girl.
"So who wants breakfast?" Asked Kagome, holding up an empty bowl and chopsticks.
"We do!" Everyone yelled.
Kaede laughed, and filled the bowls with the soup she had been making since before any had woken up. Sealii happily ate her helping, then asked for another, and another, and another. Everyone blinked at her, she had a bottomless stomach! She just kept eating, while everyone else only wanted one helping, she had thirty-four. After watching Sealii gourge herself, the other's almost felt sick. The kitsune girl smiled happily, and laughed, saying loudly, "That was the best meal I've had since I last tasted Zen's cooking. Thank you so much KaedeBaabaaSan!" Inuyasha shook his head, he didn't know how she could eat so much, and not even gain an ounce. Though the answer to that was fairly obvious. Even though she was happy and now full, she put her head in her hands.
"Something wrong Sealii-chan?" Asked Sango, worried.
"Uh, crap." She stated, spacing her two words.
"Crap?" Utterly confused was the gang.
"This is going to take forever to stop. Damnit, hahaha Inuyasha you're an idiot. I can't believe you let that guy pull out your fang without even realizing what he was going to do with that wrench." She fell over laughing.
"Is she talking about when your Tetsuseiga broke Inuyasha?" Kagome asked, trying to keep herself from busting out laughing.
"Don't you even wench, I didn't even know he had that with him." He crossed his arms, giving a warning growl.
"Inuyasha! Don't be so mean to your friends you baka!" Sealii warned.
Getting away from the fact Inuyasha was indeed being stupid, Kagome decided to voice her question, "SealiiChan, what do you mean, 'It's going to take forever to stop.'?"
Sigh, "Wel-l-l-l-l-l...." Great, the drawn out well, that was never a good sign. "Well, being able to read a weapons past, comes at a price." She started.
"What kind of price?" Miroku asked, curious, yet worried.
"Nothing much, just bits of my memory from recent times will kinda, just disappear momentarily. Like, when I woke up, I didn't remember what the hell happened, or how I got wounded. But a few days from now, I'll remember what happened, but while these momentary lose of memories occure, I'll most likely act.." She looked to the side.
"Act like what?" Shippo asked, climbing into her lap.
"Well, most likely...." Everyone came in closer to hear what she had to say, "I don't know." Everyone fell over.
"So, maybe just random things?" Miroku suggested.
"I'd guess so, I'd probably feel like I don't belong. Something like that, since well, I don't know any of you that well. Random memories from the sword will probably just pop into my mind, and when that happens, I'll probably have to say something about it." She looked to the floor.
"So we'll just have to make time so you can get to know us! O-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o, maybe since you and Inuyasha are connected, maybe you'll be able to pass through the well! You can see my time!" Jumping up, Kagome grabbed the confused, and scared kitsune's hands, and she thought she was nuts, this girl from the future was absolutely off her rocker, but was still very sweet and kind.
The others had to laugh, the look on her face was absolutely priceless, "Yeah, ok, that'd be nice." Smiled the nervous kitsune.
Shippo began to cry, "Oh, what's wrong Shippo?" Sealii asked, picking up the smaller kitsune that had fallen from her lap.
"I W-anna g-o to Kago-me's er-a with you t-oo!" Cried the little kitsune.
"Aww, I'm sure there's a way you can get there NiiSan." Sealii said, hugging the little kitsune close.
"I sure hope so OneeSan." Shippo cuddled into her arms.
"But we can't go through the well." Sango stated.
"Hm... Have any of you ever tried to go through the well?" Questioned Sealii, seemingly like she already knew the answer.
"Um, well no, but we just figured...."
"Well, you'll never know until you've tried SangoChan!" Sealii said cheerfully, smiling.
Thinking about Sealii's connection with the little kitsune, others figured, that they both decided that they were now siblings. Kagome guessed right now, it was just a way for both of them to compensate for losing family. But everyone knew Shippo thought of Kagome as his mom. Kagome smiled at this, now it was like she had a daughter/sister type friend. Without even saying it, it was obvious, the bond between these people would only grow strong, and even stronger when the rest of their friends would join. Sango and Kagome both wondered, what alliances would take place now that Sealii was their friend. Would Sesshomaru stop trying to kill Inuyasha, and join them like Inuyasha had said? Or will he continue to try to kill him and have fun doing it. Until whatever would happen happened, none of them would really know.
After some time, everyone settled down, and sat down. Kaede thought she'd take Sealii on a tour of the village, which turned out to be more of a joy ride for Kaede. Once they were outside, Sealii asked Kaede to get up on her back, so she didn't have to walk. And once she did this, they were off, hardly stopping for anything. But when Sealii did stop, Kaede would explain whatever she stopped at. Kaede had to laugh, she had decided to do this to get the girl accustomed to the village, not for a joyride for herself. When the girl would stop, some of the local village children would run up to KaedeSama.
"KaedeBaabaaSan, who is that lady? Where is InuyashaSama? Will he let us touch his ears?" Asked, one particularly happy child.
Kaede laughed, she knew the children loved Inuyasha's ears, but pouted since they could never touch them, "No child, I do not think Inuyasha will allow you to touch his ears... But maybe with a little persuasion from this kitsune here..." Kaede smiled and cut herself off.
"Hehehehe, I'm sure I could get Inu to let you touch his ears. They're just the cutest thing aren't they?" Sealii said smiling at the little happy girl.
"Really, you think you can get him to let us? How come?" Asked the little girl, waves and waves of endless curiosity coming off her.
"Don't tell anyone I told you but..." She looked around to make sure there were no audiences, "He loves me." She put a loosely balled hand to her lips and giggled.
"Aww, I didn't know InuyashaSama loved someone! How cute, oh yeah, where is InuyashaSama?" She gave the two woman a sad puppy look.
"Hehehe, Inu is back at KaedeBaabaaSan's hut. Oh yeah, and my name is Sealii.." Again, Sealii giggled.
"O-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o, you have a really pretty name SealiiChan. My name is Anustes. I think mommy said..." As she was trying to think of what her mom said about her, Kagome came running up to then. "Oh, hello KagomeSama!" Yelled the girl happily.
"Hi AnustesChan, SealiiChan, KaedeSama!" Kagome said, waving happily.
"Hey KagomeSama, do you know where my name came from?" Anustes asked the school girl.
"I think your mom said it came from way over in the west. Somewhere like Egypt most likely. Funny thing is, in this time, Japan still shouldn't know anything about Egypt or Europe." Answered Kagome, this earned her a couple stares, "I'll tell you about those places later." She smiled and laughed nervously.
"Um, ok." Sealii said, looking at the futuristic girl like she were nuts, the little girl ignored what Kagome said and stared at Sealii's ears.
"Can I touch your ears SealiiSama?" She asked, hope filling her eyes.
"Sure why not?" Sealii answered, a big smile on her face.
Kagome drew in the ground with her foot, "Something wrong KagomeChan?" The 3 tailed kitsune asked.
"Can I touch your ears too, they're cuter then Inu's I think." Kagome giggled.
"Sure why not, have a ball!" She giggled.
Kagome jumped for joy and picked up Anu so she could reach Sealii's ears. As the two girls scratched her ears, Sealii couldn't stop laughing. Anu asked why this was, and the kitsune told her, that her reaction to having someone scratch her ears was different depending on who did it.
"Say Anustes, how do you know Inuyasha?" Asked Sealii, looking up trying to looked at the girls face.
"InuyashaSama is the protector of our village! He's the best. Um SealiiSama, you aren't going to leave with InuyashaSama are you? Cuz, um well, you and InuyashaSama could both stay here and protect us. There are a lot of bad demons around here, but the one's that live here with us occasionally are really nice, and very helpful too."
"Trust me, Inuyasha and I won't leave without coming back everytime. Oh and do you mean Kirara and Shippo? Cuz I know them, Inuyasha and them found me." She smiled more to the air infront of her, then to the little girl.
"You were lost?" She asked, leaning over in Kagome's arms to look at the kitsune's face.
"Yeah, I got lost, but Inuyasha and his friends..." Kagome nudged her in the ribs, notifying her that they were friends too, "and 'my' friends, found me."
"Aww, how sweet of them to go and find you." Anu giggled sweetly, she was one of pure innocence, not evening realizing how things really were in the world.
"Well there was no way we could just let our best friend wander around all alone now could we?" Kagome asked, smiling at the little girl.
"No I guess not." Anu said, smiling up at Kagome, Sealii giving her a happy teary look.
"KaedeSama!" A tall young woman, with short black hair came running up to the four.
"What is it child?" Asked the old priestess calmly.
"It is my child, he is very sick, please you must help him." She pleaded with her eyes, Kaede merely nodded and told Kagome she would be home later.
"Oh and Anustes, your mother told me to tell you it's time to go home." Anu pouted, then nodded, said her goodbyes and went on her way home.
"Hey KagomeChan..." As they walked down the road back to Kaede's hut, Sealii stopped in the middle of the dirt path.
"Yeah?" Kagome stopped to turn around to look at the kitsune girl, seeing her head down. "Something wrong?"
"I-... Is it true? What you said, about me being a best friend?" She asked hesitantly.
"Oh course! Granted Inuyasha hadn't told us about you till the other day, but if he had, we'd most definitely been checking to make sure Naraku hadn't gotten ahold of you." The raven haired girl smiled cheerfully at the kitsune.
"Thanks KagomeChan." Replied the now smiling girl.
"No problem SealiiChan, what are friends for?" Again she smiled and the chestnut brown haired girl.
"Hehehe, right, c'mon let's go, I'm sure Shippo misses you." She giggled, bringing her loosely balled hand to her mouth.
"I'm sure Inuyasha is having a fit right now since you're gone too." The thought of Inuyasha throwing a temper tantrum over Sealii just going somewhere, where he could easily find her, made the raven haired girl want to fall over laughing.
"Oh, trust me he is. A really big tantrume. And the only reason I know this is because of the mark." Sealii looked about to bust.
"Is it ok if I bust up laughing now? No offense, but he could easily just run around the village and find you."
"Yes, and yeah I know, what a baby huh?" That did it, Kagome toppled over on the ground and started laughing feriously.
Seeing as how Kagome was laughing, Sealii decided she didn't want to be left out. Besides, she found the situation, if not unconditionally stupid, but funny as hell. Holding her sides, Sealii fell on the ground laughing her ass off. Which could only be expected of her, I mean hell, she was the Queen of the Laughing Ass Off (Yes I know it makes no sense). Ontop of all that, the girls knew Inuyasha could not only hear their laughing, but sense that Sealii was laughing. Knowing that just seemed to make the situation all the funnier, I mean, no one in this day and age ever came across two woman who have completely lost it. Especially not around the "Hanyou Guardian of Kaede Village" no one that traveled with him seem to laugh so bad their sides hurt. But now, there were two people who were laughing just like that. The only phrase that could fit this scene, 'Oh, whacha gonna do about it?' Yes that was definitely the phrase to use for this paricular scene.
The laughing the hanyou heard made him angry, yet it made him happy. Angry because he knew they were laughing at him, happy because they were happy. His mate, and one of his best friends were extremely happy. And Sealii could feel his happiness through the mark, and the feeling seemed to cirrculate through the three of them. Even Kagome seemed to be able to sense the happiness radiating through the mark. Once Inuyasha came into sight, Sealii got the stupidest idea to jump as high as she could. Once at full height, she let herself drop like a led weight. Inuyasha's eyes widened, he didn't know what the hell she was doing, but the smile on her face told him everything he needed to know. As she came closer and closer to the ground, Inuyasha slightly jumped up, caught Sealii bridal style in his arms, and fell backwards. What compulsed Sealii to do this, he didn't know, but it was, how should I say, fun for the inu hanyou. Once they both got to their feet, the two girls had to laugh, they knew Inuyasha would never let her fall, nor would he let Kagome fall. After much laughing, Sango came running up suggesting that the girls, plus Shippo and Kirara go take a bath. Kagome nodded happily, and Sealii hesitantly shook her head yes, with a wide smile. Sure she would be with people she could trust, but she had never really bathed with anyone.
The girls took off, leaving the inu hanyou to sulk, he wanted Sealii in his arms. And damnit, if wanted, he'd have a tantrum if he wanted to. This feeling was sent to Sealii, and she almost fell over laughing.
"Um, is something wrong SealiiChan? You look... Like, you're face... Is kinda screwed up." Sango said, cautiously.
"I swear," She laughed, trying to contain it, "Inuyasha is going to have a tantrum." She bit her lower lip, trying not to laugh.
"How come?" Questioned Kagome.
"Just because," She paused, and her face screwed up more, from the temptation to laugh, I mean geez, it's not like she'd be in the hot springs forever, "Just because I'm going to bathe, and I won't be in his arms, he's going to throw a fit, and I do quote 'Damnit, if I want, I will throw a tantrum.' And I unquote."
Sango was the first the bust up laughing, she knew the hanyou had a bad temper, but this was just ludicrous. "My, well his patience has surely gone down the hole. I'm guessing by the end of today, he won't tolerate us being slow."
"Like he could ever tolerate our being slow. If I may quote, 'Stupid, pathetic, weak humans, tire too damn easily, stupid pathetic...' If I may unquote." Kagome said laughing, as they neared the hot springs.
"Oh, I do say, you may quote as you like. Actually this is really fun." Sealii admitted, ducking behind a huge rock, getting undressed and quickly getting into the water.
"Oh, we forgot to go get Shippo and Kirara!" Sango exclaimed, "Don't worry you guys, I'll go get them." With those words, Sango ran off to go get the two youkai.
"Hey SealiiChan, while we're alone, how about I tell you a little about what's been going on. Like enemies and friends, just so you don't think you should kill everyone you see."
"Actually, I detest killing, but instinct kinda takes over when someone close to me is threatened. Especially since me and Inuyasha are mates, and you guys are friends, that instinct to protect will increase tenfold. In a way, it'll seem like I'm a mother, protecting her young. Though I know I don't have to worry all that much, since I know you guys can hold your own, it's not my fault I instinctively act that way."
"No one ever said it was your fault. And I know what you mean, I hate fighting and killing too." Kagome giggled, "Ok so more to the point, basically it started when I first met Inuyasha bound to the Goshinbuku tree six months ago..." The raven haired girl told Sealii all about Naraku, and the people he's used. She told her about every dangerous enemy they have faced, and took great care in describing how Jakotsu of the band of Seven hit on Inuyasha.
"Omg, so you're telling me he's a guy. Yet he was hitting on Inu..." Sealii's face screwed up, just as Sango arrived with Shippo and Kirara.
"Something wrong?" Shippo asked, confused at the strange expression on the kitsune girls face.
"Does... Jakotsu really.... Hit on... Inuyasha?"
"Yeah he does." Sango looked at the girls expression, she was about to bust, ok well, she did bust. Her face was red with laughter, holding her sides, tears flowing down her cheeks, it looked like she had completely lost it, had they not known why she was laughing.
"Omigawdthat'sjustthemosthilariousthingI'veeverheardinmy entirelife!" She said this so fast, they barely understood her, but the message got through. (Omigawd that's just the most hilarious thing I've ever heard in my entire life!)
"Yeah, and I'm sure if we meet up with him again, Jakostu will do it again." Kagome stated, Kirara mewed her agreement.
"Kami, I can't wait to see that, it's gonna be funny as hell." With that they all had to laugh, it was just too funny that Inuyasha's mate thought it would be funny to see a guy hit on her man.
"No offense or anything SealiiChan, but you're a really odd hanyou. I mean, no hanyou, nor demon would just let another hit on their man." Stated Sango, getting into the water after taking her clothes off behind a rock.
"None taken, that was just what I was going for. Odd is my game, and as far as others hitting on dog boy, well if it's a guy, I don't really have to worry. Now if it's the bitch that goes after him, I'm going to have to kick some ass." She stated bluntly, one hand on her water soaked hip, the other pointing in the air, the expression on her face saying she was totally serious.
"Wow, and Koga taught you those kind of words? I fear for his pups." Stated Kagome, sweat dropped, standing behind and huge stone, then running into the water after undressing herself.
"Yeah, but you have to take into consideration, Inuyasha uses those words too. Plus, when I get angry, I really start blurting out those words. I swear if that little mother fu..." Kagome and Sango both rushed to Sealii's side and clasped their hands tight over her mouth.
"SealiiChan shh!!! There's a child here you know!" Kagome yelled frantically.
"Gomen. Didn't mean to let that happen. I just need to totally stop thinking about..." She paused, Shippo and Kirara, Sango and Kagome, all looked at her blank expression, "Wait... What were we just talking about?" They all fell over, well, at least she wouldn't be tempted to cuss out the wind.
"Um, we were talking about... Our families! Yes our families, brother's sister's, moms and dads, and what they're all like and stuff." Sango chuckled nervously.
"Well, hmm, you know how Sesshy is, all stotic and emtionless?" They nodded, "Well, my brother Queshinta is a lot like that, scept he's a baka, he's really smart, and shows his emotional side only to family and close friends." She started.
"Wow another Sesshomaru, how much colder could a room get?" Kagome asked jokingly, the others caught onto the joke though, and laughed with her.
"Het, yeah, I know what you mean, but Namaiki is awesome, she's my oldest sister, smart, reliable, fun, dull, responsible Nama. She's the ruler of the Northern lands." Sealii said laughing.
"Wow, two rulers joined together. Man, that's gonna be one big kingdom if they merge them together." Stated Shippo.
"Very much so, and they do intend to do just that. In doing so, only helps us really." Sealii stated, putting an index finger to her chin, looking up thoughtfully.
"Why would it help?" Questioned Shippo.
"Well an emergance would lead to two sides working together to help eachother. And since the West and North aren't that far from eachother it would be like they were defending one kingdom anyways if one was attacked. You see Nama and Fluffy both have their own armies in their territories, and both have their own battle stratigies. Like Fluffy for example, he'd rather fight alone then with an army." Sealii stated, still looking thoughtfully into the sky.
"Fluffy?" Sango asked, cocking a brow.
"Yeah, it's what I call Sesshy, but so far, I've been the only one he allows to call him that. He tried to kill Zen for calling him that." She let out a small giggle, "Zenzuishi is a lot like me. Though he's more calm then I am." She giggled again.
"You have a huge, but woderful family it seems SealiiChan." Kagome said smiling at the girl.
Sealii looked at Kagome, taking her attention away from the sky, "Yeah, and you see Kitai, if you want another Inuyasha, just look to her." Sealii stated, stiffling a laugh.
"Why's that?" Questioned the two girls and the kitsune, with a mew from Kirara.
"Well, she's not one to think things through, she rushes into things, always wants to kick ass, short temper with a bad attitude. You name it." She said, counting off on her fingers.
"Geez, two Sesshomaru's and two Inuyasha's, I don't know if we could handle that." Sango laughed nervously.
"Oh don't worry, I can always keep Fluffy calm for some reason, and Kitai may be like Inu, but... She's more controlled I guess you could say." Said the girl smiling her fang like grin.
"What do you mean, controlled?" Asked Kagome, obviously confused.
"Inuyasha may have a huge pride, but Kitai is honor bound to stay alive and protect her family, just like the rest of us. She may not think things through, but I'm guessing most of the time she already has something planned out." The kitsune girls tails were whirling about in the water, Shippo and Kirara chasing after them.
"So how is that controlled SealiiChan?" Questioned Kagome, her eyes following the kits three tails.
"Well, she's controlled herself by letting herself know she has a duty to uphold, you know, since she's the fighter, she knows more about combat and stuff, and she teaches us how to protect ourselves in a better way. I mean we all know how to fight..."
"But she just gives you an extended and better version of what you already know." Sango finished for her.
"Exactly." Sealii smiled.
"Ok, I get it now. Families in this time work so closely together. Wish we did that at my house, my little brother Souta is always playing video games, and grandpa tries to get me to do all the work for him." Kagome scrunched her face at doing her grandpa's chores, sure she wasn't lazy, but hey, it was hard living in the fuedal era, though fun as it was.
"Ooooo, you gos a lil' brover?" She squealed like a little girl who couldn't pronounce things right, "I wanna meet 'im!"
Kagome laughed at the girls enthusiasm, "Well if you can pass through the Bone Eater's Well sure you can meet him." Kagome giggled, but stopped when she saw the horrified look on the girls face.
"Something wrong SealiiChan?" Asked Sango, clearly worried about the girl.
"Th-That well.... Gives me the creeps. Everytime I go near it, something tries to pull me in." She shuddered, just remembering the couple times she'd passed the well while trying to find Inuyasha, (to spy on him of course) it had tried to pull her in.
"Well, I think that was the centipied lady, but she's gone now. So it'll be safe, you should really try SealiiChan, I believe since you're Inuyasha's mate, you'll be able to pass through too." Kagome smiled at the kitsune girl, trying to reassure her.
"I... I guess it coudln't hurt." She said, looking up, still holding her arms, but gave both of them a warm smile.
Shippo stopped playing with the kits tailed and looked at her smiling face, "I wanna go to your time too Kagome." He stated, not whining at all, just stating as a fact.
"I know ShippoKun, I want all of you to be able to travel to my time. Not only would you guys get a break from fighting, but you'd also be able to see what my time is like." Kagome said happily.
"That sounds nice, we could all use a vacation from this world. But if we left, where would that leave the people here who need to be defended from Naraku's attacks?" Sango question, this made the three girls, plus Shippo and Kirara think hard.
