InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Detective Work ❯ A New Way to See Things ( Chapter 4 )
[ Y - Young Adult: Not suitable for readers under 16 ]
Disclaimer: Screw this! Look, we all know I don't own InuYasha. Rumiko Takahashi does, and much props to her because Inuyasha is one of the best animes I've ever seen. (Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru are so smexxy!) So from now on, I don't own him. I'll mention it every once in while, but these are getting repetitive!
To angelabovefaith and Jenny: Thanks for reviewing!
To Lucient: Don't worry! I wanna finish this! (Just have to find time and break through writer's blocks, teehee ^_^;;)
To everyone else: Please review! I have like 99 views, but 2 reviews?? That's heartbreaking! I need at least one review per chapter so that I can know where to go with this fic! Ask me questions, ask for plot twists, hell ask me for lemons if you want! Just review please please please!!!
Ok…that's enough! On with the fic!
Chapter Four: A New Way to See Things
`Hmm…oh kami, my head fucking hurts…', Kagome moaned softly and shifted, feeling vaguely out of place and a little too comfortable.
`Where the hell…what is this place?'
Kagome sat up slowly, pushing back a wave of nausea that had crept up on her. Resisting the urge to roll over and puke, she walked shakily to the door of the small room and peeked outside.
`How did I get inside the house?'
She blinked hard, trying to see past the colored dots that were beginning to form in her line of vision. Taking a deep breath, she tried to return to the bed, only to find that she could not move. Her knees had locked, and she was now both near unconsciousness and immobile.
“What the fuck is going on here!?”
She collapsed.
---------------------------------------
“Um, Sango, I've been here almost a half hour and you haven't said a word. Are you sure you wanted to talk to me?” Miroku breathed steadily so his nerves wouldn't show.
“Miroku, let's play a game. Pick 5 words to describe me in any way you want.”
“Do I have to play?”
Sango chuckled.
”Ya damn straight.”
Miroku sighed and scratched his head. Staring up at the ceiling, he counted off the words on his left hand.
“One…smart. Two…kind. Three…strong. Four…beautiful. And five…” Miroku suddenly looked down at Sango with a gentle look in his eyes.
“And five…absolutely amazing.”
-------------------------------------------------------
Inuyasha heard a loud `thump' in one of the rooms, and he prayed to kami that it wasn't what he thought it was. Literally flying up the stairs, he caught himself before he opened the door. Hand on the doorknob, he started to wonder why he even cared.
`Because, BAKA, she is letting you live in this fucking awesome place, and she hasn't been anything but decent to you when you've been a total jerk.'
Sighing, he opened the door slowly, just in case she was behind the door. Stepping into the room, he looked around slowly, wondering where exactly she was. Not on the bed, not on the floor…he heard a soft groan coming from the bed.
'Under the bed? How the hell did she get there??' Smirking, he made his way over and lifted the bed sheet, only to find a very disgruntled Kagome. She glared at him, growling at him the best she could through clenched teeth.
“What…the FUCK…did you do to me, Inuyasha!?” Kagome barked. Inuyasha could feel the blood draining from his face. He gave Kagome a nervous smile, slowly extending his hand towards her arm in hopes of pulling her out. She stared at his hand the same way someone would stare at a pile of shit, and she threatened him softly and slowly.
“Inuyasha…if I could move, I swear to kami there wouldn't be a bone left in your body in one piece. If you don't tell me what you did and why I can't move, there'll be hell to pay when Sango gets out of the hospital.”
Inuyasha was so nervous by now that he could barely control the shaking in his hands. Carefully, he found a decent grip on Kagome's arm, and pulled her from under the bed, careful not to give her any rug burn. Lifting her, he placed her in the middle of the bed, to reduce the risk that she might fall again. She was still staring daggers at him, so he cleared his throat and said in the most kiss-ass voice he could muster:
“Can I get you anything?”
-------------------------------------------
Sango stared at Miroku's violet eyes. She felt queasy, but not in a bad way. She could feel her face turning red, and at that same moment Miroku coughed and turned his head.
“I'd better be going…don't wanna be late for…uuuh….this thing I have…”
Sango merely let out a soft, “Yeah.”
Miroku stood up hastily and made his way to the door. Stopping, he turned and curtly said, “I'll be back tomorrow with Kagome and a friend of mine. Um, I guess I'll see you then.” He turned and left.
Sango was still staring at the door, not believing what had just happened in the hospital room. She could tell that her face was still red, and her mind was reeling from what she had just heard.
“And five…absolutely amazing.” Miroku had stunned her with that simple statement. She sighed deeply and stared at the ceiling wistfully, wishing that she could have said something to make him stay.
