Sango: And, Inuyasha will kiss her!

Inuyasha: What the fuck?! I never agreed to that?!

Sango: Just do it, Hanyou!

Miroku: well if Inuyasha won't I certainly will… *leans forward and kisses Ashley on the cheek*

-congrats Ashley. And for all those that didn't participate, or didn't win, there will be more contests coming, up! Enjoy…

She could feel the tension. And knew somebody could cut it with a proverbial knife."Ok, so, yeah, Miroku, you were saying?"

"Yes. Well... this is how it sits..."

Miroku thought quickly for a second and decided to concentrate on one of the two girls at a time.

He turned his body to face Sango

"Sango, I must ask you this one thing. I understand you may be a little bit, shall I say frazzled with how the three of us have been acting toward you. And we have come to the conclusion of not keeping you in the dark."

Sango smiled, warily and nodded for him to continue "and the question…?"

Miroku smiled slightly, and only Kagome knew why.

Miroku "IF we tell you what it is that is happening, would you accept protection?"

Sango scoffed a little "what? Are you guys the mob? You sure sound like it!"

"No no, my dear Sango. But you would not be able to protect yourself properly after you have the knowledge of what is going on. I do no wish you to get hurt."

Sango looked Miroku squarely in the eyes. "I see… and who would be doing this, said, protection?"

Miroku grin turned into a full-fledged smile "well it seems that Inuyasha here has his hands protecting another, and Kagome isn't strong enough to protect you, so it seems that, that leaves me to do your bidding. And I would only be to thrilled to volunteer, to the task"

With that he grasped her hands

Sango peered over at her friend, who was obviously trying hard to hide a smirk.

"What do you think about it Kagome? Fair deal?"

"Well since I don't, as of yet, know the entire situation either, you can't ask me. But if I was you, I would say `yes'"

Sango eyed the boy that grasped her hands, and heaved an almost, defeated, sigh.

"Fine fine. I'm a sucker for wanting to know what's happening"

Miroku looked ecstatic "so you mean you'll accept my protection?"

"Yes yes, now what's happening, darn it! Spill it or I'll spill your guts, got it, Miroku…erm… whatever you last name is!" Sango had tried to sound tough, and she was used to using last names when she was lecturing. This caught her off guard, when she realized she didn't know either of the boys last names

"My last name is Houshi. You'll hear Inuyasha call me that a lot. Inuyasha's is Taisho" Miroku said trying to scoot over Sango's little embarrassment.

"Um, yeah nice to meet you… ANYWHO… what is this all about? The magick, the protection… the mysterious `training' that Kagome has talked about"

Miroku looked at Kagome. She wasn't to have said anything about the training, but she avoided her gaze, so he let it slide.

Inuyasha didn't though.

"Way to go, bitch. Tell the whole world why don't ya!"

Kagome slid over and hit him, then slid back to her spot "will you shut up! Miroku is trying to speak!" Kagome said with a wince, knowing she was going to hear about that smack, from Inuyasha, later.

"Yes, him. Anyways. As I was saying. Sango. I think you already know that the three of us aren't you ordinary people. Kagome had recently found out she is half Miko, half Wiccan. Inuyasha is a Youkai, or you would probably call him a `demon' but he IS all good. And I am a Wiccan, from a long line of monks"

"Um, aren't Monks, Mikos and Wiccas separate things?" Sango said getting a little confused already.

"Yes. Mikos or Priestesses, and Monks are of a spiritual nature. Where ones of the Wicca faith, derive power from nature. But either monk or Miko combined with Wicca, you get something very powerful. Understand?"

"I think so. Nature and the spiritual powers combined create what you 2 are, right?"

Sango said to cement her understanding, of the situation.

"yes. Now… I have trained for quite a while, and Inuyasha was born the way he is, but Kagome here, is new to her found powers, and knowledge of these powers, so she is in training with me to learn how to control them, and rules of them."

"Rules? I thought if you had powers you could do whatever you wanted. Just stick to either good or evil"

Miroku laughed "no no. there are rules. Such as the laws or Karma, Dogma, 3, there are many more, but those are the mist highly known. Now… really these things aren't that important to you. What is important is what is happening. And WHY Kagome is in training. And why you my beautiful, needs protection"

Sango nodded. Inuyasha was getting tired of Miroku's voice and decided to take something's into his own hands "jeesh! You're making it so melodramatic Houshi. You could have told her everything by now! But nnnooo… you have to sound like some two-bit anime fan fiction! Listen, here Sang-ey…"

"San- GO" all three said in unison

"Keh, whatever. Listen here Sango, you said about the good and evil… were good… a guy named Naraku… EVIL! Stay away from him, got it? If you see him, run! Simple, sweet. To the point."

Miroku sighed "yes. But she needs to know WHY, he's evil, Inuyasha"

"Keh!" was his only response before he slumped back on to the couch - I try and help. And what do I get? No respect, that's for sure!-His thoughts remained his, this time. He made sure of that. He knew certain things to keep Miroku out of his head.

"as my ever impatient friend, was saying. Yes Naraku is the reason we must train, and be considered the "good guys"" Miroku made hand quotes when he said this, to the worry of both girls. "Even though I don't like that term. `cause sometimes, being good is boring… but Inuyasha made a valid point about you running"

"From what, though? Why is he so bad?"

Inuyasha shot up at this comment "so, you know demons are bad, right? But how many have you met?"

Sango shrugged. "Um, a few" Miroku and Kagome could help but notice the slight bit of pink that came upon her cheeks.

This comment threw Inuyasha a bit. Most people haven't met any.

Kagome looked at Inuyasha "same here a few, but not a lot"

Now both Miroku and Inuyasha were confused "um, both of you have met other yoke other then Inuyasha?"

The two girls nodded

"Where?" Miroku said turning to look at Inuyasha, even though his question was directed at the girls

"Here and there, but what? You're saying Naraku is a demon? So?" Sango said very nonchalant

"SO?! Not so?... fuck! He's the underworld's LORD! For kami's sake! Get it? Naraku equals pure evil. Controls nearly all demons movement in the eastern hemisphere!"

Kagome shot a glance at Inuyasha "who controls the western?"

Inuyasha shot his eyes down "nobody of importance."

Kagome coughed "the underworlds LORD…of the western HEMISPHERE…which trust me is huge… is of no importance'"

"Keh, that's what I said wench. And anyways. He's not the one, planning an attack, on the humans of his fucking hemisphere!" Inuyasha looked appeased at letting the secret slip

The two girls gasped. The young monk groaned and messaged his temple with one hand, while covering his eyes with the other. He did NOT want to answer the onslaught of questions he knew were coming.

"Thanks Inuyasha! We agreed not to tell them that till a later time, when they had advanced a bit"

"Whatever. They needed to find out sooner, rather then later, Houshi"

Miroku dared to peek at the two girls. Expecting worry and concern on their faces, but was surprised that they seemed calm. And decided to act.

Miroku whipped beside Sango "don't be frightened my dear. I will protect you.

Sango rose to her feet, quickly. "I've heard enough. This is obviously no game. But yet I'm getting the, slight feeling you think it is Houshi! This Naraku fellow needs to be brought down!" Miroku wasn't surprised at her use of Inuyasha's pet name for him, or her indignation at his actions. It only sparked him further. -a challenge-he thought to himself.

Kagome had heard his thoughts and snickered to herself.

Sango, not knowing the telepathy the shared snapped to Kagome

"You think this is funny? You're supposed to be my friend!"

"It isn't funny! I'm sorry Sango, its Miroku…he…I mean we… I mean"

Inuyasha had enough "oi wench! Sango. They meaning Kagome and Miroku have telepathic abilities. She probably heard some lame-ass thought that Miroku was thinking. And Yes Sango, you can guard your thoughts, and usually the 2 of them are pretty good and not peering into others thoughts, just each others. And your also right… it's serious. Something I think others in our happy clan should take notice of!" This last comment he looked at Kagome for

"Fine. But it was Miroku that made me laugh!"

Sango had to sit down. -so much information. Not enough alcohol in the world to make me digest all of this!-She sat up realizing her thoughts. "Either of you hear that? What I thought I mean?"

Kagome looked at her. "No, for me I can ONLY hear Miroku. I haven't been trained to hear others yet"

Sango nodded "I was starting to worry that you might have heard me sometimes in school"

Kagome's mouth dropped "about what? Why would it matter?"

Sango shrugged "thoughts are personal. That's all Kagome. You know I tell you everything anyways. It's just the principal of the thing" she kicked Miroku lightly at his shin "what about you Houshi-sama. Can you hear my thoughts?"

"No, my dear. I have attuned that capability to be in use, ONLY when I need it. And never on the innocent." Miroku looked at her "no matter hoe much I wish to hear what there thoughts" Miroku's hand slipped onto her thigh. Sango gave a little "eep!" and slammed Miroku's hand away with her right hand and slapped his face with her left.

Inuyasha was on the floor laughing. "That was great Sango, do it again"

Kagome rolled her eyes "show a little compassion will you Inuyasha?"

Miroku shrugged and apology at Sango and continued "um, anyways, Back on to more serious matter. That being of Naraku"

Kagome thought for a second and asked quietly with out looking up "what can the three of us do, against an underwold of demons?"

"Four"

Kagome looked at Sango "three. I love you Sango, but you'll get killed, and I don't want you joining the fun, as I know you'd put it!"

Sango sighed "well, i'm a part of this now and I want to help. Also… how do you know he's going to attack?"

Miroku looked at Inuyasha "you've been fairly quiet, and these 2 questions are more your speed. Would you mind interjecting?"

Inuyasha stayed slumped back "Sango's questions first. We know because of 4 reasons. 1..." Inuyasha droned on very dryly as he listed them off "because it's `foretold' in that book of shadow's thing. 2… most demons have heard rumors, 3… my dad told me about this day, and 4… my brother told me it was getting closer"

Kagome looked over at Inuyasha, trying to meet his gaze "what do your dad and brother have to do with this?"

Inuyasha jumped from the seat and walked to the kitchen "they just do ok? Have anything to eat, wench?"

Kagome sighed and went to help in the Inuyasha in the kitchen

Sango look at her remaining room companion "how DO the 4 of us compete against the eastern hemisphere of demons and a demon LORD!"

Miroku looked at her and smirked "one-by-slow-one"

"All at once…take 'em out in one giant sweep!"

Kagome digested the information. "But 3 against…a lot of demons! All at once! We'd be toast!"

"Not with me on your side, bitch. Nice to know you have faith"

"Not with Inuyasha on our side! He's got some…let just call it, inside information. You just have to have some faith, my dear Sango"

"Does this have anything to do with his brother and father? No, wait I thought all he's good for is brute strength!"

"Stop asking about my family, if that's what you call them. And what the hell?! Brute strength! Ha! Ok yes, I am the strongest here. And I COULD take ``em all out. Every demon around.but I have "inside information" as Miroku calls it"

"What type of information?"

"At the time that is of no importance, my dear Sango"

"None of your damn business wench!"

"FINE!" Kagome stormed out of the kitchen and hollered "and it's not your damned food either, so drop it!"

"Fine. But will Kagome and I, ever know?"

"Of course my dear!"

With that a very irate Kagome stormed in, followed by a pouting Inuyasha.

Miroku and Sango couldn't help but fall into laughter, ending there discussion, for the time being.

*** A week later at school ***

Inuyasha walked up to the three teens that were sitting at the side of the cafeteria.

He was ticked. Very upset. He wanted to smash something. But most of all, he needed to get the three of them out of there, and updated

Miroku was the first to sense him before he even entered the room of bussling teenagers. He looked up to see the chagrin on his friends faced, and frowned.

"What's wrong Inuyasha?"

"Keh! Let's just get the fuck outta here! I need to talk to you guys, away from listening ears."

The four of them walked outside to the newly re-built bleachers, and sat at the top.

Kagome was the first to speak, since they had walked there in silence. The aura that Inuyasha was giving off wasn't a happy one. And you didn't have to have any sort of powers to realize he was upset. His facial features gave that away.

"So, what's up? What did you want to talk about?"

The young Hanyou sighed and looked around. He swiped his ever-present top hat off and listened to see if anybody was near, of if he could pick up the low hum, of any technological devices, such as a bug.

When he was satisfied it was safe to talk, he replaced the black hat, and looked at Kagome in the eye, then browsed over at the other two.

"Miroku, I just got off the phone, with Sesshomaru. It sees that our little spy... has been rated out, sorta-speak"

Miroku froze. His back went straight and stiff

His head dropped and he gave a slight whisper "no. crap. Ashley." Miroku looked like he wanted to cry, but go up, tuned around and leaned on the bars that was behind him "damn it!"

Kagome and Sango gave Inuyasha a look of confusion. "She was part of us… like you like to say, she was one of the good guys. And when you're found out as a spy, by Naraku, your fate is certain. Nobody that has been caught has gotten out alive"

Miroku whispered to them "she, was like my best friend, other then Inuyasha. We trained together"

Kagome's face fell "are you saying she had powers like you? Like me? You mean we...w…we could be killed?"

"Of course you can Kagome, what? You think since you're a wiccan-miko that you're safe? HA! To hell you are, why do you think I have to protect your pathetic ass?"

Miroku who had heard all this tried to calm her in his own sense - Kagome, what Inuyasha said is true, but you must remember, we do have an advantage, and the more you train, the stronger you will become-

Sango how was taking this all in stood up, and put a comforting arm around Miroku. "My dear Sango, I'm starting to regret telling you this, getting you into this. But, it's not too late, you can still back out"

"Nu un, Kagome told me that it's dangerous, and what happens when I `back out'. I will not have any freaking memories erased, and I won't back out. I'm in this, now." She gave a little sigh and turned to face him "you ok, Miroku?"

Miroku gave a sigh of his own, and turned to look at her. The looking at her turned onto staring at her with a passion, until he blinked and was cast out of any emotions that were swirling around in him "yes of course. The time for Naraku's attack is creeping forward. Even though we don't know when. And when it does happen, a lot more souls will be lost." He smiled at her, and touched her check "less if I can help it"

She smiled back at him, which seemed to make him snap "but, er, that's why we must distance ourselves, as Inuyasha always says" and his other hand dropped behind Sango

She gave a little squeak, and slapped him, and turned to leave him standing there while she sat back down beside Kagome, across from the one boy standing and the one sitting.

Inuyasha laughed "you deserved that lecher"

Kagome looked at him in wonder - I wonder why he wants to be so distant from everybody, and telling it to people like Miroku, who could probably use a friend, or someone closer, it doesn't seem right-Kagome stared at Inuyasha

Miroku who had heard this, decided to let her believer her thoughts were her own - it's better if she doesn't know - he though with a guarded aura, to hide his own thoughts.

Inuyasha straightened up "listen, I didn't bring you guys here to tell you this, and then get into talking about fucking feelings. KAMI! Join a support-group or something. I'm sorry Ashley had to be put through that, Miroku, but we did get some information back'

Kagome who was probably the only one listening to Inuyasha with keen interest spoke "What type of information?" she asked as she leaned forward

He grinned at her.

Yup. I know I'm leaving you in the lurch again. But that's what I do *wink*
