Angel of elements: thanx for the review. It really does mean a lot. I will update sooner next time.

Sry for not posting sooner. I was going to on Friday, but there was a shooting at my school (did I mention, that this fic, is all inspired by my school, and life? sad, eh?) I was a little shocked. A teacher died. So I with that…

This chapter is dedicated to Mrs. Candir. Age 47, died Dec 10th 2004. A teacher who would always be in the hallways, telling us students to get to class before a teacher who is meaner the her, finds us and grace us with detentions, and would always listen to the corniest of jokes at lunch in the caffe. Rest in peace.

Inuyasha grinned at her

"That is the fun part. We know where Naraku is"

"What? I thought you already knew…"

"Don't be baka, Kagome. He's the lord of the underworld. He's not an idiot. No, Ashley was working for one of his many clans. It was just a fluke she found out. That wasn't even the reason she was in there."

"Why was she there?"

"Oi, you ask too many questions, wench. Kami, she was there to find out any information, on when he's going to attack."

Miroku looked as if this was all new information to him "what? You mean he sent her in there for that? That's it?!" He heaved a pained sigh "did she find out that anyways?"

"No. But we're not sure. She apparently sent some more information before she was caught, but we think Naraku's allies intervened with it"

Miroku gave a wince, which Inuyasha and Sango noticed.

"Well…um, I think that's all. Just be on your guard Mroku. If they tortured her" Mioku gave another wince "… she may have brought your name up. Just be wary. You can't screw everything up now."

The 2 girls nodded at the events. It felt a bit like they were in over their heads.

Kagome got up to walk away. Needing some time to think. Some time alone. Miroku knew, he heard it. And Sango knew. She knew Kagome.

Inuyasha being oblivious to her state, got up and followed her, leaving Sango and Miroku to talk. - No way in HELL your gonna get me, feeling sorry for that lecher. We have ALL had crap in our lives because of that Naraku. … But leaving Sango there, yeah that's good. She can help him. Kami, what do I care.!-

As soon as he caught up with her, he heard her before he actually rounded the school corner to catch up with her. "Kami. What have I gotten myself into. Oh Houjo. What have I done. All this crap. Jeesh. I'm starting to think more then ever, that it was all my fault." She gave a laugh that was far from being amused. Inuyasha thought it was more of a girl-on-the-edge type of laugh. "You wouldn't have let me get into all this, would you have? Maybe it was a mistake. But a mistake I had to make. And this, this is good. What's happening now, Houjo, I can help. I know I can"

She stopped sighed and closed her eyes. Inuyasha rounded the corner when he thought she may have finished her monologue. -bought fucking time. She talks a lot. … who's Houjo? -

He could feel his Youki growing. He was confused, and she wasn't telling him something. She was hiding it. - she's not allowed to hide stuff! It might help with Naraku… don't be dense, she knows nothing of importance. You want to know for a different reason. SHUT UP! - Inuyasha shook his head, and walked a bit further toward Kagome.

She was leaning on the wall on the far side of the school. Eyes closed, head facing up toward the son, as if gaining some hidden power from it. She looked like she was meditating a bit. She was.

She had learnt early on, of she meditated on a person's aura, it calmed her. Knowing she wasn't the only person alive, helped. And when she meditated on Inuyasha's aura, it calmed her far greater then anybody else's.

She couldn't understand why, though. She hadn't known him for long, it just seemed, weird. But she wasn't about to question deeply something that made her, for the first time in a year, feel calm.

She saw him. Standing. Looking. Almost concerned, almost sad. No, mad… wait. She couldn't understand it. And his aura was fluxing, as if it was fighting with itself to feel a certain way.

With a sigh, she gave it up. Inuyasha was a weird person. So was Miroku. And she didn't know either of them for very long. These things would come in time. Knowing them would come in time. And the trust that Miroku kept on saying she should have in both of them, would only come in time.

She slowly opened her eyes, and stared into nothingness, while she thought over some things that Miroku said.

Inuyasha was slowly getting upset, that she had yet to notice him, so he gave an ever so light growl. Something that wouldn't upset her. It was closer to a rumble or purr, then any menacing growl, but it still shocked her.

She started a bit, but tried not to show it. She was near heart failure with shock but tried not to show it.

He had caught her, when she was vulnerable. Lost in her own world. -how long had he been there? Miroku wouldn't like that. "You should be aware of your surroundings at all times" had this been a test? Wait? Just how long HAS he been there? Did he hear me? It doesn't matter. I didn't say anything that he would care about, anyways.--

"What the hell do you want? Inuyasha?" she said, not looking at him directly trying to cover her moment of lost thought.

"Um… I…I mean Miroku is, um, all upset, and I thought it best to leave Sango to, you know, do that girl crap. I can't do that" He said leaning on the wall beside her. Hid one hand in his pocket, the other fidgeting with his hat.

"o. Well, that was nice of you, I guess. Better then you staying there and saying baka stuff like I know you would"

He laughed slightly before really realizing that it was a joke "yeah…hey wait. No. wait. Kami never mind. You're the baka"

She didn't acknowledge the tone but asked him, slowly "How? How am I the baka here?"

She was tired. Emotionally and physically. She wasn't in the mood for a fight.

Her quite and slow tone scared him more then any yelling she could have done.

"Never mind, bitch. Listen. Are, are you ok? I mean. You seemed kinda startled after finding out about Ashley"

"Is that concern in your voice, Inuyasha? Cause if it is, don't hurt yourself" she moved away from the wall. And walked forward. Now where in particular, just forward.

He followed her, at her pace, slow. "Don't waste worry, on me Inuyasha. I don't deserve it. And anyways. I'll survive. If you can handle all of this, so can I. Naraku is going down"

"What do you mean, you don't deserve it?" He was concerned. The question was more emotional then anything he has said or done in a very long time. Almost 5 years.

"Why do I get the feeling your not telling me something?"

She stopped and looked at him, in the eyes. They were glistening with unshed tears "Because there are things I'm not telling you. But there are things you're not telling me. All of us are hiding things. Miorku, Sango, me, you… And that's how it has to be to survive. We have to suck it up, forget, and not burden others with our pasts. And trust me, if you knew, you would hate me more then you already do. And if we have to have the slightest bit of trust to be able to fuck over Naraku, we need to shut up about the little things. No body cares, nobody will care. It's my fault, and me telling you…. Kami. Get away from me"

By the end of this, tears were running down her cheeks. She tried to stop them, but she couldn't.

Inuyasha didn't know what to do. His Youkai aura was running havoc. His human side knew that he needed to re assure her, and to go to her. But he couldn't. He looked at her. Nodded his head and walked toward the school. His hands were in his pockets, and he had his head down.

He knew he should go back

He knew he should hold her

He knew that's what she needed. That's what he needed.

He knew it hurt him, and it was the wrong thing to do.

But he closed his eyes for a second and walked.

She had fallen on her knees and let the tears flow. She had had enough.

As if feeling the pain of the four companions, the sky clouded over and started to rain. The bell rang for the next class, but none of them went.

Miroku, had his head in his hands, and had gone mute.

Sango, realizing the pain of loosing someone, held him. Tears streaming down her face. The pain of all of them affecting her, as well as a secret, that tore her apart, to tell.

Kagome On her knees crying her soul to the sky. Not noticing the Hanyou so close. Yelling her despair

And Inuyasha slumped on the wall watching Kagome. His heart ripping with each tear that came from her eyes. He could smell which were tears, and which was rain. Each tear called to him, to stop.

He closed his eyes, leaned his head back, and sighed.

I don't have a past, a family

Not an honest plea remains to say…

Is it you I want, or just the notion

Of a heart to wrap around so I can find my way around

Safe to say from here you're getting closer

Now we are never sad, cause we are not allowed to be

Rain rain go away

Come again another day

All the world is waiting for the sun.

…is all that I could ever do.

All the world is waiting for the sun.

It had been an hour. Class was still in, and the four had calmed down a bit.

Inuyasha had heard her calm down a bit. He got up, and went to get some tissue for the bathroom. He cam back to find her where he left her.

He walked up to her, crouched down and wiped away some of the black eyeliner that came down in teary steaks.

"That look is better left to the guys in bad punk band" he said trying to justify his caring actions. "You looked like a bak, er… silly, with that on like that, anyways"

Kagome just stared at him.

"Good. C'mon, Kagome. Let's go find the other two" he stood up, and reached a hand out for her, that she readily grabbed to stand, but didn't quickly let go.

"What?"

"You ...you called me "Kagome". Not bitch, or wench…but my name"

"Yeah, well… "He blushed a bit, but turned so she wouldn't see it - damn, what's wrong with me? -

"Your wrong you know?"

"O? What did I do wrong now?" she said, as she let go of his hand, and started to dust imaginary dirt of her, making her self busy. Realizing The Inuyasha she knew was back.

"To get that `slightest bit of trust to fuck Naraku over' we need, more then ever, to trust in each other. To trust that if we messed up in the past, none of us, will judge the other. I guess that means, we also have to have trust in our self to say these things"

Kagome had stopped the busy work she had and looked at him "where did this new found knowledge come form?"

"um, no knowledge… just telling you to stop beating yourself up…that also means literally too" he said, and slid her long black sleeve up to reveal slash marks on her arm.

She grabbed at the exposed arm "um, it's not what you think…"

"Quit it. Obviously something, fucked you up, big time. That's not knowledge what I told you, it's true… you need to start relying on others, and trusting yourself, and others… and it IS what I think. I can smell the new gashes every so often. STOP IT, KAGOME!"

She went silent. After all this crap, now she was getting a lecture. She could feel herself getting mad, but ashamed all at the same time.

Inuyasha could smell both on her, ever through the think rain.

"I'm older then you. … I mean A LOT older then you. So I know about what I'm talking about. We need to hurt Naraku… focus on that. Not hurting yourself. I know it hurts Sango, when you do that. I'm sure it hurts other"

Kagome's anger ebbed away "San...Sango knows?" she said in a quite voice

"Yeah. I told her. But she had already suspected. Listen I won't push you, on what happened. I want you to tell me on your own, damn it. But…just….just stop it. Ok, wench?"

Kagome chuckled lightly. Knowing the lecture was over at the word `wench'. He was back. And she was glad. For a moment she sensed a caring concern from him. And it scared her more the him yelling at her, barring fangs at her, or anything else he could do.

The tow walked toward the bench where Inuyasha could still smell Sango and Miroku.

"So, Inuyasha, just how old ARE you?"

He smiled "I'll let you know, if you ever NEED to know, how does that sound?"

"Not fair"

"Life's not fair, bitch. Get used to it!"

Kagome and Inuyasha finished the rest of the trek in a conversation, on a teacher, at their school, which both patrons despised.

They happened on the other two of their little clan, and decided to skip the rest of the school day, and head out for desert.

Miroku knew of a place that served only dessert and they headed there.

The four of them needed this. They needed the chance to grow as friends, not as soldiers in a war. And they few hours, they were there, the four yelled in jest, joked, played practical jokes and laughed …well Inuyasha refrained from the last one, though.

But mainly they started to trust.
