******* Sango*******
Sango walked into her room and looked around.
There were certain days that just got to her, and this was no exception.
She walked through the dojo to get to her room daily, but today noticed that her little brother wasn't home. Which was fine. She wanted to talk to her uncle alone.
She set down her back pack and set out to find her uncle Myoga.
She found him in one of the smaller dojo training rooms with an advanced student. They were just finishing up.
Her uncle was the head-master at their family owned karate and swordsmanship dojo. Even though 100 percent of their students were there for karate or other martial arts such as Tai Kwan do.
"Hiya!" *deep breath* "hiya" *deep breath* "HIYA!"
The young boy that was about 23 or so, took a final kick to complete the karate set, and turned to Myoga, then bowed.
Sango's uncle saw her appear at the door, and was concerned since she never watched him. After the death of her parents, she never wanted to have anything to do with the dojo, let alone step into a room that was being used for training.
Yet, Myoga was completely calm, not letting the door disturbance destroy his concentration on the student.
He clasped his hands together, and bowed back at the student. "Very good! You'll be progressing to your brown belt very soon. Just work a bit more on your beginning of the sets. You're too self-conscious. Remember. It's not about you. Let it just come. You cannot force it."
The young man bowed again with his hands firmly at his sides "yes master Myoga"
The young man stood up straight and walked out the opposite sliding rice doors, that were across from where Sango stood.
Myoga looked at the girl. "Yes child, come in. what is it? If you're looking for Kohaku, he went out to work on some school project at the library. I swear that boy works as hard as the devil"
Sango nodded. She had worried about her little brother herself. After the death of her parents he stopped everything he loved and buried himself in his school work.
He would have been one of the best Karate masters in the future, but he stopped right away. He had become too hard. It was all too hard. Too many memories for him…and her.
Myoga saw her space out slightly and coughed to bring her back. She just stared at him, though.
As if reading her mind he mentioned "you know, Kohaku was great. But I know someone else who was great as well. She was almost as good as her mother at karate"
Sango knew he was talking about her. She squared her shoulders which to her, made her seem more ready to bring up what she was going to say As well as to block out the memories.
"I know. But…I mean…that is kind of what I came her to speak to you about, uncle Myoga…er...master Myoga"
"Master?! Ho, this is about karate, I see" he turned around slightly amused that Sango was here. He hid his half grin with his back turned, masking this as having to clean up the towels at the side.
"No. this is about Naraku"
Myoga stopped and dropped what he was holding. He turned to see her.
"What…what do you mean my dear Sango?"
Sango knew what she meant, but didn't know how to voice it. She had kept her feelings, and emotions hid so well.
Her dad taught her that, and she was thankful for that. She could still hear him in her mind =="Sango… the demons, can see and smell your fear. You must hide that. Your fear is an advantage for them"==
She also knew that her fear could bring down her friends…so she played the innocent civilian part as best she could, with her friends… but she couldn't anymore, after what had happened.
"Naraku…he's, around. Well…not around. Myoga-chan. I cannot tell you why, I have been sworn to the utmost secrecy…but Naraku has come back into our lives" she stepped forward with her arms out, as if pleading him silently to believe her, but stop asking questions.
"Hai. I see Sango. Are you sure though, that you…"
"Yes Myoga-chan. I wish to resume my training as a demon exterminator" she lifter her chin to give herself even the slightest bit of encouragement
"hai. I see Sango-chan" he nodded his head but stared at the floor, thinking back. He did not want her to go through what her parents had.
They were the best demon exterminators out there. Trained by himself. He taught them before they even met, or got married. He wasn't related to them, per say, but they were family to him.
He trained them, and when Naraku made his first appearance, Sango's parents and himself were the first on the scene for a fight. Not only that, they also came out victorious. Naraku, ran away; disappeared, and was not heard from again
The two Demon exterminators, decided, many years later, that it may be safe to start a family, since they did want one badly, AND they needed ones to carry on the Exterminator tradition. As well, Naraku seemed to be defeated, and never to be heard of again….or so they thought at the time.
When Sango was of the age of 2, they started her out with simple kicks. By the time she was 5, she could complete karate sets.
Later, Kohaku was 3, and could already run faster then her, so by her 10th birthday they gave her, her own Neko demon to help her get away or just plain around about, since she was the slowest of the 5 exterminators.
Kohaku and Sango were already the best students in the dojo. And her Parents had positions as assistant-masters at Myoga's dojo in Japan. But by that time Myoga, had moved to Canada, where he was opening his second dojo. Sango has only met him a few times, and seen him in pictures but did not know his extensive background.
She remembered her mum telling her of a man then helped them, and only when she found out Naraku was back, she realized it was Myoga. Her parents would only have entrusted her and Kohaku with him.
Sango shook her head. Kagome and the others thought that just the information of what Naraku was doing, was going to be stressful to her. But it was more then that.
It was her past that was the stressful part.
She knew she had to help her friends. She knew she had information that would help. But until she found out how serious it was, she didn't want to open up her family's history.
Sango had sworn off Karate. Her parents had lived by it. Trained both her and Kohaku, so they all would be safe. But they died. Her parents said they were safe but died, and karate didn't help them. Neither did any of their extermination and demon training.
They tried the second time he came aboveground in the eastern hemisphere, to rid the world of him, but died in the process. Sango had seen it. Not even Kohaku knew that, she had.
She was supposed to have been at a friend's house studying, but she was trained to sense evil and demons, so when she was coming home, she sensed the most evil of demons, and followed it. Only to see her parents die in each others arms.
She ran home in tears. Not allowing herself to hurt Kohaku with what she saw.
She quickly suppressed the ability to sense demons. Suppressed the knowledge of karate, of exterminating, of riding the Neko, and of using any weapons.
And when Kohaku saw what his elder sister did, he followed suit. And just as quickly. He had heard from the others that helped his parents in the battle they died together, and quickly, but like his sister, he believed they lied to him. Karate and Exterminating could not help the world and could not save you.
Sango, though, was being torn up inside. She did not want to be a hypocrite and do something she had thought for so long was a lie, but she could not stand back idly, and let her friends, and Miroku to get hurt, or worse die, because she couldn't help.
She gave a gaspy sob. And dropped her shoulders." Master Myoga-chan, I need to resume my training because I must avenge my parents, BUT…" Sango snapped her head up "you cannot tell Kohaku-kun about this. It must remain a secret between you and I. Understand Uncle Myoga?"
He nodded, since he was thinking the same thing
"Thank Myoga-kun. When may we begin our training?"
Myoga looked at her feet in thought. "Wait here"
He left out of the same door the student had left though, and she walked tentatively around the room. This had been the longest she had been in a dojo training room since her parent's funeral. They had had people come to the dojo to offer condolence, instead of at the gravesite.
She looked at the rules, and mantras on the walls. And ran her fingers over certain Japanese deities that were made of bronze.
When a good 20 minutes had passed, she sat down and crossed her feet, allowing herself to go into a trance, like her mother had taught her. To focus her energy and bring up strength.
Since she had not trained in 4 years, she would have to do this a lot, to get back up-to-par. So to speak.
Another 5 minutes passed and Myoga then rushed into the room, and dropped a large bundle in front of her. And beside the bundle was her little Neko.
"I thought that Kirara should start training as well… the little one has been getting fatter, and wouldn't be a lot of help in a battle, don't you think? And I'm fairly sure that Kirara would keep the secret from Kohaku" he said laughing at his own joke.
"You want me to start training now?! I don't even have the proper training outfit"
Myoga held up a white Karate uniform, tied with a white belt. You can use this for now. I'm not sure what belt you are at. No matter what you were at before, you may have lost some skill"
"But I earned that belt… you can't take it away from me!"
"Can you even tell me what it was?" he said with a knowing raised brow.
"White belt it is!" she said as she grabbed the outfit from his arm. "But I wasn't solely trained on karate I also used the …"
"Hiraikotsu!"
Sango stared at her old weapon. She walked back to him, and gingerly took it from his outstreched arms. She could tell he was having problems eve holding it upright, but it was no problem for her ==at least I can still pick it up no problem==
"Where…I mean, I threw it out, I left it in Japan…I told you that… how?"
"One of the trainers at the dojo found it in the attic, and sent it down. I received it one day when you were at school, and put it away. Even if you weren't ever going to use it again, there was no way I wanted it just left in Japan" He said and smiled.
Seeing Sango hold her old weapon brought back so many happy memories to Myoga and couldn't help but smile ==she reminds me so much of her mother. Inside and outside==
"Thank you Myoga-chan"
He smiled, and then cleared his throat "ehm, yes… while we train Sango-chan, I am to be called Master Myoga. Now hurry up and change. We have limited time before Kohaku come back from the library"
She bowed at him with straight arms, and set Hiraikotsu to the side of the room, and ran out toward the student change room.
==Naraku, eh? You may have one the battle, but Sango will NOT let you win the war. Naraku, if you ever get a chance to just look in her eye, you'll understand… if looks could kill, her profession would be staring… but her profession is still to kill you==
He stopped and looked into the hall. ==maybe I should make a few phone calls before the night is over. If NAraku is truly back again, AND if Sango is back again, this should surely make a few peoples lives a little more interesting.==
With that he started prepping the larger room before he left to make the over seas calls == I think we're gonna need to buy more chopping blocks== he said reminiscing of when either her or her mother trained in the past.
