Chapter 2: The Morning After

"Mi- Miroku" Sarah mumbled. She slowly opened her eyes.
"Yes, Sarah?" he answered.

"What happened last night?" She slowly got up, but realized...... she had no clothes on.
"Oh. Right. That's what happened. Well I hope I made that stupid wolf jealous. Let's get dressed,
we don't want the others to find us like this, especially Inuyasha."
"That would be just a little too late." replied the dog-demon from where he had been standing in
the doorway.
"INUYASHA !!!!!!!!!!!!!" She exclaimed. She turned red and grabbed a blanket. She then picked
up a rock and threw it at Inuyasha.
"OW! Where the hell did you get a rock from?!"
"The ground." Sarah said smirking.
"Sarah, we're in a hut." the houshi replied, finally waking fully.
"Well duh, there's a pile of rocks in the corner there." She said. She pointed to a large pile of
rocks that were put there by the villagers.
"Right. Why'd we have the villagers put those there again?" the monk asked.
"Don't ask me." Sarah said rolling her eyes. She picked up another rock and threw it at Inuyasha.
"Now get the hell out of here so we can get dressed."
"Feh. I'm going. By the way, I guess I'll tell everyone that you're better."
"Jerk !!!!" Sarah shouted. She threw another rock at him. Her wolf demon ears went forward
from anger.
"Yeah, he tends to be like this. Didn't we discuss this last night?"
"Well yeah. We did. But I just wanted a reason to throw another rock at him."
"Oh. Okay."
"Y'know, I should have expected something that stupid to come from the mouth of a friend of
Kouga." the dog-demon replied.
"Do you want to have more rocks thrown at you?" Sarah asked.
"Or to be sucked into oblivion by my hand? Because I'll do it!"
"Uh, no, not really, I'll go. I don't have time to bother with you guys." He then walked off and
left.
The two got dressed and went into the main room of the hut, where the others were already
assembled, eating breakfast.
Everyone stared at the two, their eyes following where they walked. Breakfast was eating in
silence for the most part, with the lack of sound being broken only once, by Shippo.
"Why isn't anyone talking?" he asked.
"Shippo, mind your own business. This doesn't concern you." said InuYasha.
"Kagome! Inuyasha being mea-"
"Shippo, listen to InuYasha."
"Okay. I'm sorry. Can I just ask one question?"
"Sure. What?"
"Why does Sarah smell like Miroku?"
Miroku choked on his food.
"Shippo." Kagome replied. "Leave now."
"Bu-"
"GO!"
Sarah gave Miroku a quick pat on the back to clear up his air tunnel.
Shippo left.
"Excuse me?" Sango exclaimed.
"What !?!?" Miroku cried.
"I've been around demons long enough to understand basic mating facts!!!!!" Sango screamed.
"What the hell are you talking about?" Sarah asked. "I take that as an insult."
"Well I take it as an insult when you FUCK MY BOYFRIEND!!!!!!!!"
"Boyfriend? Miroku, what is this about you being Sango's boyfriend?"
"Indeed, Sango, what is that? I hadn't any idea you thought of me that way."
"Don't lie Miroku."
"Who's lying? I didn't know."
"YOU FUCKIN' DEFLOWERED ME YOU BASTARD!!!!!!"
"Damnit, Miroku." Sarah shouted. She stormed out of the hut.
"Dude, you are sooo fucked." the dog-demon added.
"Fuck off InuYasha!" the houshi responded.
Sarah sat in a willow tree, crying. She leaned her head against the bark and let her tears run down
the tree.
Kagome walked up to the wolf-demon. "I'm sorry about what happened with Miroku and Sango."
"It's okay. I shouldn't have expected anything less. I let my guard down and look what happened.
I should just give up."
"What's that supposed to mean?" she asked.
"Nothing. Just thinking out loud."
"Don't do it. Death is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. It isn't worth it."
"What do you care if I die huh? Your just a human."
"I'm not just a human. I'm the reincarnation of the protector of the jewel that you have some
shards of."
"You mean, you mean Kikyo?" Sarah was surprised. "You can't be. That's impossible."
"No, it's very much true. Ask Kaede. I am Kikyo's reincarnation. Some witch stole her ashes and
brought her back to life. She took my soul in the process, and I took it back, but she's still around.
It's her hatred for InuYasha that keeps her alive."
"Well that doesn't make me any less mad at Miroku, my dad was right, humans are a waste of
time." Sarah said.
"Hey! I take personal offense to that." Kagome responded.
"Sorry. That's not how I meant it. You know what I meant, anyway."
"Yeah. I'm sorry."
"It's okay. See you later."
"Yeah, bye." And the miko left.
Sarah wandered through the forest and ran into Kouga. "Oh, uh, hey Kouga, how's it been?" She
laughed nervously.
"Sarah... I was looking for you. I wanted to apologize for what happened."
"Yeah, I've wishing more people would do that recently."
"I can smell him all over you. What happened?"
"I-I'll tell you later. Lets just go back to the pack."
They both arrived back to the pack where Sarah was greeted with open arms by the others.
"So what happened between you two? Besides the obvious, I mean."
*She recounted that mornings happenings*
"He doesn't deserve you. And this just solidifies my deep, everlasting love for Kagome." he said,
sighing at the girls name.
Sarah pushed Kouga away. "Kagome, Kagome, Kagome, that's all I ever hear out of your mouth.
And I get sick of it Kouga. I really do."
"It's just that she's just so ... great..."
"Damnit Kouga." Sarah stood up and walked out of the cave. She then sat down under a tree and
looked up at the sky. "The last two days my life has quickly deteriorated into shit. I don't know
what the fuck is going on. I still love Miroku, but I feel like he betrayed me. Kouga is still
important to me, though my feelings for him are still confusing, and all he talks about is Kagome.
I'm just not sure of myself anymore." she thought out loud. "Men..." she added with a sigh. Sarah
fell asleep under the tree. She dreamt about Miroku, about Kouga.....
