Chapter Thirteen - Of Bullets and Blood

Ayame sat in her daughter’s bedroom which was a heaven pink and lilac. Kiku laid on the large princess bed with her fluffy- as she named her stuffed dog. The light from the small lamp dimming the room. Ayame looked from her daughter to the pictures on the wall. There was one of herself and Sesshomaru another of Kagome, Sango, and she sitting on the corporation’s desk as Kikyo and Sesshomaru tired to coax Sango off the desk. Another was of Rin and Kiku with Sesshomaru at the beach. And the last one was of Kiku and Ayame sitting on the grass the girls and Sesshomaru in the far corner. Ayame closed her eyes and saw little images flash through her mind, she wondered if Kagura saw it also. It was the last image that scared her; she saw Kiku’s face then her screaming at Sesshomaru slapping him harshly. Ayame being a lunar wolf she was just saw a vision just like the time she saw Kagome in the hospital or when she saw herself pregnant. She looked at the clock and saw it was still early only nine. She dialed Kagura’s cell phone.

“Kay?” a voice mumbled.

“Yes?”

“I saw, something bad is going to happen.” Ayame looked at her daughter.

“Did you see a clock or date to see when?” Kagura asked slowly coming into grasp to what Ayame said.

“No, what about you did you see anything?” Kagura looked around her room then sighed.

“I saw Kikyo asleep on some rug and Naraku yelling at the guys about four hours ago.”

“Something bad is going to happen out of this.” Ayame grabbed her daughter’s hand.

“I know.” Ayame heard Sesshomaru at the door.

“I have to go.”

“Bye” Sesshomaru walked into the room and gave her a slight smile and sat down next to her. He put a hand on her shoulder in a friendly gesture. Ayame wrapped her hand using his comfort.

“How is she going to grow up? Look at me I’m an assassin who doesn’t get to spend every waking moment with her anymore. What she going to think of me when she really knows how and by whom she came to live? I’m a bad mother for her Sesshy. I don’t even have a mate or anything solid but my friends. We’re like it or not are living in a secret youkai war, and I’m an appreciated part in it. How can that be good for a child? I’m tainted and she is so pure.” Sesshomaru looked at his daughter to Ayame. The same red hair but she had his face and eyes although she would most likely end up looking like her mother just with daddy’s eyes.

“Your not a bad mother I won’t lie your tainted but not by blood but by me. This will all come and go and she’ll forget these too young years. Once this silent war is over your not going to be working for me. Your only job will be Kiku. But for now when your not here I am. You’ll find a mate Aya and he’ll be your soul mate and he’ll accept you and Kiku. Just like I’ll find mine. Really if we were mates it would be easier but you and I know that we have not that kind of love for each other. Despite the fact that we have created this beautiful child you’re my best friend. And I can really only talk to you this freely.” Ayame smiled up at him.

“Not for nothing Sesshy, you’re my best friend also.” Ayame began to nod off on his shoulder.

“Come Aya I know you’re tired let’s go to bed.” Sesshomaru picked her up bridal style. And she gave the faintest mummer.

“No I’ve got to get home.” Sesshomaru shook his head and walked into his room.

“Not now kid.” Sesshomaru laid her on the bed and removed her stockings. He went into the bathroom changed and climbed into the bed with the mother of his precious girl. He drifted to sleep muttering a quick goodnight.

The next morning Ayame looked around the room so familiar to her and pulled her hand away from Sesshomaru’s deciding to let him sleep longer she got up and went into her spare room. Pulling out her key to her door she stepped in and got some spare clothes and took a shower. Once out she went to check on Kiku and found her still asleep. She turned around to find the face of Rin.

“We need to talk.” And it was those words that slowly dragged Rin into the youkai war for power.

Kagome ran threw the mansion looking for Sango while holding her cell phone. Kagome just obtained an urgent call from Sesshomaru. She was unaware of the silver haired hanyou with a towel on in her way so she was shocked when she hit into him full force. Kagome looked down at the hanyou under her. She began to get up when InuYasha snaked his arms around her waist and flipped her over.

“InuYasha I have to get to work!” Kagome wiggled but InuYasha put her hands over her head and bent down to kiss her neck. InuYasha smelt her desire and lust. He brought his head up to kiss her mouth. The kiss was passionate and heated as fire. Kagome touched to roof of his mouth with her tongue. And she would have done more if it weren’t for the cell phone ringing. InuYasha released her hands but didn’t get up.

“Hello?”

“Get your ass over here now miko!” Sango voice yelled over the line.

“I’m coming!” Kagome hung up.

“We’ll finish what we started later.” InuYasha helped her up and slapped her ass before walking to his room. Kagome huffed but rushed out the house none the less.

Ayame sat down with Rin in Ayame’s peach colored room.

“What’s wrong?” Rin being the blunt woman never hesitated to answer.

“What are you guys doing in InuYasha home?” Rin pushed her jet black bangs out her eyes and Ayame saw the light purple mark of the crescent moon that Sesshomaru had on his forehead that they both no doubt gotten from there mother. Kiku had the same mark although it wasn’t purple it was a very light pink, Sesshomaru said it would eventually become a light shade of purple once she got older.

“You know what we do. We are assigned to kill InuYasha, Miroku, and Kouga. In your absent you may have not noticed that the youkai rule is under a power struggle. Only two groups are on the top both your brothers.” Ayame said deadpan. Rin jumped up.

“No, I won’t let this happen! How could you even think of doing something like that Aya it’s family, I’m not letting my brother die over something so foolish! Do you hear me?!” Ayame jumped up at the younger girl as she went to leave the room.

“Sit down now Rin.” Ayame voice was harsh and demanding. Ayame used the voice she often used when she was about to kill someone for disobeying her. What surprised Rin was that she used that voice on her. And they were like sisters, Rin feeling foolish forgetting who was really holding the cards sat back down on the bed.

“I’m an assassin, I’m paid to kill I could not even think about family if I wanted to slit your brother throat while he sleep. But you do know me far to well but you also know youkai rule. I have a plan Takashi.” Ayame only used her family name when she was serious and demanded respect and to show that this was business.

“I’m listening.”

“Good, I’m not planning to kill them. But only you and Kagura know about this.

“Who’s Kagura?” Rin asked.

“Glad you asked.” Ayame smirked and continued to tell Rin her and Kagura’s plan.

About a half hour Ayame finished talking about the plans that she and Kagura had mapped out.

“So brother Inu made a pact to kill Sesshomaru and all his elites? And Kagura wants to stop from killing Sesshy because she loves him and she doesn’t want Miroku, Kouga, and InuYasha to fight anymore?” Ayame nodded.

“And Sesshomaru wants to kill InuYasha and the others to get to Naraku but doesn’t know that Kagura is his enemy? And Kagome and Sango are going to make the guys fall in love with then kill them, take their places in power as Sesshomaru takes Naraku’s?” Ayame nodded once again.

“So you and Kagura plan to kill Naraku, hook up Sango with Miroku and InuYasha with Kagome by all of them falling in love and the guys break the pact and the girl willingly fail the mission.” Ayame smiled glad she only had to explain things once to Rin.

“So what’s my part in this?” Rin asked and Ayame grinned.

“Even with Naraku dead and everyone all ‘In love’ with each other that still doesn’t mean InuYasha and Sesshy will become best of brothers. You are there to fix that I don’t care how but you have to get them to stop the struggle for power and just merge to discontinue this confrontation.” Rin stood up as did Ayame.

“I agree to help.” Ayame smirked and shook Rin’s hand.

“Welcome to operation ‘Divine Desire: Tainted’ Rin.”

T hree assassins, an Inu youkai and older miko sat in the office of Sesshomaru.

“When you took back Kikyo we were unaware that she left behind a very important object. We must have this object back by all causes.” Sesshomaru said.

“The package is being held at Naraku’s second building which is less guarded but no doubt the room heavily guarded. The package can only be held by a miko. Kagome you are to protect the package Sango and Ayame you just do what you guys do best. Start tonight, be careful, and Naraku arrives in two weeks and I’m pretty sure something is going to go down.” Kikyo finished.

“Are you willing to except?” Sesshomaru asked.

“Do we have a choice?” Sango laughed.

“Good.”

Ayame walked into the building first after calling Kagura saying she had an appointment. Kagura of course told the guards to let them in. Although Sango and Kagome had no clue on this. They thought Ayame had pulled some strings and put their names on the list to enter the excusive building. Sango and Kagome soon followed in. The guard stopped them and asked their names.

“Megumi Shikino.” Ayame walked by when the guard nodded.

“Haruka Muziuno.” Kagome smiled when the man nodded.

“Nanako Otada” Sango walked by without evening waiting for the nod. The three used the stairs since it was the only direct route to the room and there were no listing or camera devices in the stairwell. They pulled out there guns and kicked open the door. It wasn’t even a room it was a whole floor and the package was at the east end of the narrow but wide hall. They didn’t have time to think as guns sounded. The guards were amateurs and Kagome put up a shield as they shot their way threw the hall. Kagome had a listing device in her ear just like the others. She heard Kikyo’s voice loud and clear.

“Miko, Emerald, Director! Miroku and Kouga just entered the building and are heading for the stairs.” Kagome put down the Miko guard to move faster. Bullets now held a threat.

“Call in a helicopter! Cobalt.” Sango shot into the guards spattering blood on her and the victim. Ayame reloaded her guns and cleared Kagome’s back as Kagome herself shot forward at anyone in the way of the package. That’s when they heard Sango hit the floor. Kagome rushed forward and gabbed the package. Kagome stepped in as second charge.

“Emerald, get Director now! Cobalt where is the helicopter?!” Kagome shot purifying bullets into the crowd killing more than half of the youkai guards.

“It’s ready.” Ayame was already heading to the roof. Kagome killed the remaining youkai and the sick blood stuck to her skin. As Kagome reached the top stair Miroku garbed her foot Kagome as glad that the stairwell was dark. She grabbed the banner which was covered in blood. No doubt Sango’s.

“Emerald take off!” Kagome shouted.

“Are you sure miko?!” Ayame yelled hearing static. Kagome looked at Miroku and gabbed her gun. The blood on her hands making her fingers slip on the guns trigger. Miroku pulled her down three steps and Kagome had the crane her neck so her head wouldn’t bang against the steps.

“I’m fucking sure Emerald take the hell off go back to base and help the director! Cobalt call in another copter for me.”

She kicked Miroku in the chin and sent out a powerful wave on miko energy knocking down anyone ten inches of her. Miroku fell down the stairs smacking harshly against the wall. A guard came after her and Kagome knocked him out and grabbed him.

She dashed out the stairwell and rushed across the roof. She dragged the guard and threw him in the helicopter then jumped in herself taking off.

“You got the package but your director is in critical condition? Some one better start talking.” Sesshomaru sat at his desk in base pulling out a gun.

“Something was in those bullets, Sango shot threw the front and Ayame shot through the side. Sango had too many people shooting her at once, they ignored Ayame’s bullets. I think they knew who was leading and went for her. Sango got hit once and she can take at least seven shots but as I said those weren’t normal bullets those youkai were shooting.” Kagome said.

“Kikyo is seeing what she can do. Bring in the guard Ayame.” Ayame left the room and two minutes later came back with the blindfolded guard. Sesshomaru threw him in a chair.

“What was in those bullets?” Sesshomaru asked.

“I know nothing.” Sesshomaru nodded and took off the man’s blindfold who glared at him.

“You know nothing?” Sesshomaru aimed the gun at the guard’s foot a shot. The guard howled in pain as blood shot on the green marble floor.

“I rather die then tell.” Sesshomaru knew that didn’t hurt much to the youkai.

“I have two Miko’s willing to purify you in a blink of an eye.” The youkai eyes widen and Sesshomaru put a small camcorder on the table.

“What was in those bullets?” Sesshomaru shot the youkai in the face and the youkai screamed his head off. He began clawing at his face but Sesshomaru shot his hand. The youkai bit his lip and shut up. Blood ran down the youkai clothes and his hand bled onto the floor where a pull of his own blood laid. Sesshomaru remained impassive.

“It was a powder made only to harm humans and break down there nerve system while stopping there heart beat within forty minutes without the proper treatment.” Sesshomaru put the gun away.

“And what is the proper treatment?”

“Blood of Shikon Miko.” Sesshomaru nodded.

“Miko go tell that to Cobalt through the intercom.” Kagome nodded and did as told once done Sesshomaru sat at his desk and pressed record on the camcorder. Kagome and Ayame knew what Sesshomaru was doing and stood on each side of Sesshomaru.

“Naraku, One of your high ranking shot one of my assassins with a Shikon bullet.” Sesshomaru picked up a picture of Sango.

“Look at her Naraku. If she dies I’ll make your death ten times more painful although that won’t save your guard leader here. If it wasn’t official before I’ll let you know now that I have declared war on you. I give you two months before you are dead, live them well.” Sesshomaru ended with shooting the youkai in the head and killing him.

“Where is that message getting sent to?” Ayame asked.

“Naraku’s cell phone.”

If she dies I’ll make your death ten times more painful

AN: So the plot thickens I have more then half of the next chapter completed so you know what that means! Reviews mean faster update. And sorry this was late I couldn’t connect online for awhile. Internet is a bitch. The chapter is a bit short but hey what can I do? Looking forward to your reviews!
