Chapter Seventeen - Ayame's Fury, Kikyo Suffering

Kagome walked into base her hands shook with nervous agitation. She walked into Sesshomaru's office only to find no one there. She wondered if Sango and Ayame weren't able to leave the resort but then her cell phone rang.

“Speak.” Kagome said and it was a minute till someone responded.

“Lady Higurashi, we need you at lord Sesshomaru's residence.”

“What for?”

“Naraku has attacked.” Kagome walked into her weapon room and started getting guns and Miko bullets.

“Where are Sango and Ayame?”

“They are here.”

“I'm on my way.” Kagome had no time to change out of her bikini. She jumped into her car and drove as fast as she could. Once she reached the gate she could already see the hell that was breaking loose. She jumped out the car and ran shooting humans and Youkai alike. One by one they fell; they would die soon without the blood of a Miko to save them from the Miko bullets. Blood spattered onto her exposed skin and she wanted to cringe.

“Kagome!” Kagome looked to her right to find Rin fighting off a good amount of Youkai. She rushed over to the younger woman and together they cleaned out the living room…or what was left of it.

“Rin! Go to base its safe there.” Kagome shot another bullet into the crowd.

“I can't I have to find Shippo and the others.” Kagome nodded.

“Okay but if it gets too risky you must retreat.” Rin nodded and Kagome gripped her hand before Rin went right and she went forward.

She just hoped everyone was safe.

Ayame saw Kikyo drop to the floor defending Kiku. It was just like her vision. Kiku screamed and Ayame shot ten Youkai in an attempt to get her daughter and friend.

“Mommy!” Kiku cried as Ayame was thrown back. Kikyou got back onto her feet. She noticed that they had cornered her in the small Childs room. She was too weak to use her Miko energy. With one option left she grabbed Kiku and jumped out the window. Ayame blasted more demons with her very own bullets designed to kill anyone not of her blood. Ayame saw Kiku and Kikyo jump into Kagome's car.

She would have to meet up with them later.

She reached under Kiku's bed and pulled out a sword.

The Youkai didn't even have a chance.

Sango could care less about the million dollar house as she threw her large boomerang killing lots. She looked over to Shippo as he aided her in the battle. Once the room was cleared and the floor was cover with dead bodies did they take a break to rationalize.

“Do you have your cell phone on you?” Sango asked since her own was covered in blood. Shippo pulled out his own, which only had very little youkai residue.

“I don't think anyone is going to pick up.” Shippo said breathing heavy.

“It's worth a try.” First Sango dialed Kagome. There was a scream and a few minutes later a painful shout.

“Fucking speak!” Kagome yelled.

“Where are you?” Sango asked seeing as she was in Kikyo's room.

“The inside pool.” There was an insane laugh from Kagome that made Sango cringe.

“Some Youkai can't swim.”

“Get outside, that's an order.” Sango hung up and dialed Rin the line wasn't in service. Sango turned to Shippo.

“Find Rin, in twenty minutes this house will be blown down, I doubt you want to be inside.” Shippo nodded and ran out on his search for Rin. Next Sango called Ayame.

“Speak as fast as you can.”

“Get out the house before twenty minutes is up.” Once Sango hung up she raced to find Sesshomaru, last she heard he was in the dinning room. She found him and helped to clear the room.

“Sesshomaru we need to be outside in ten minutes.” Sango said and looked around and saw the back door into the garden.

“Let's go.”

The mansion blew up into pieces with everyone safe. Kagome looked around for her car then groaned. Ayame placed a hand on her shoulder.

“Kikyo took it. She should be at base.” Ayame said and wobbled on her feet. Kagome caught her before she fell over. Sesshomaru narrowed his eyes at everyone. Rin was unconscious in Shippo's arms.

“Where is my daughter?” asked Sesshomaru, Kagome looked down the block and started walking to base. Over her shoulder she shouted

“Maybe if we walk towards base we'll find her and Kikyo.” They started walking it was only two miles to base but the sight they saw stopped them one mile away.

Blood…Kikyo's blood and Kiku's fluffy doll.

The car was there but nor Kikyo or Kiku were inside. Ayame's and Sesshomaru's eyes shot red. They all hopped into the car and walked into Sesshomaru's office at base. The large T.V. screen flicked on and Naraku appeared. Shippo was asked to take Rin into the bed in the extra room.

“Sesshomaru I know you have the Shikon. The question is how much you love these two women in your life.” The screen flicked to Kiku sleeping on the cold ground then to Kikyo who was sitting on a chair her arms handcuffed to the chair behind her back. Kagura stood next to Naraku.

“Naraku, don't threaten me I bend to no one's will. I hope you been counting your days for now you should count the hours.” Sesshomaru looked calm but on the inside he was raging. Ayame was ready to kill.

“Your perception is nothing but a foolish dream of yours. Don't be foolish as your first command. Give me the Shikon and I won't have to kill your family.” Ayame eyes shot to the screen.

“You wouldn't dare.” Ayame looked at Naraku, his eyes, cold red, like new blood spilling over innocent lives.

“Ask Kagome, no better yet ask Sango. Love or none I don't care who I have to kill.” To prove his point he shot Kikyo in the arm. She held her scream but her eyes reflected pain. Kagome grinded her teeth together.

“You bastard.” Sango hissed. Naraku turned his eyes towards her and it showed pure hatred.

“I will enjoy killing you. You're the first one on my list to rid the youkai society of stupid ideology.”

“Your attempts haven't pervaded yet.” Sango gritted out.

“Prepare yourself; your blood will sully my hands.” Sesshomaru said before the screen went blank. Ayame walked up to Sesshomaru and slapped him hard enough that it left a purple bruise. He grabbed both her hands and yanked her to him.

“My daughter! You fucking bastard! You were supposed to protect her! She was supposed to be safe with you! You fucking bitch, how could you not protect her? If she dies Sesshomaru you will follow her! I swear by Kami I will make sure of that!” She kicked and punched him.

“She won't die, I promise you this.” Ayame fell to the ground and her tears broke the occupants in the room hearts. Sesshomaru picked her up and looked at Kagome and Sango.

“Tomorrow.”

All was understood.

Kagome had just told the defense division to be on high alert or she would personally kill anyone who let one of Naraku's people through -when her cell phone rang. The number was private.

“Speak.” Kagome sighed and turned the shower on in her room.

“Kagome.” Her heart stopped.

“InuYasha?”

“Why?”

“What do you mean why? Naraku killed my family and he is slowly killing Kikyo.”

“Why bitch did you craw into my life?” Kagome narrowed her eyes.

“Next time I see you, I'll be forced to kill you.” Kagome stated even though her heart was tearing.

“I doubt it, Kagome one thing before we meet again.” Kagome sighed.

“Yes InuYasha.”

“Did you ever love me?” Kagome wiped a tear away.

“Business is business there is no room for love.” InuYasha was silent.

“I loved you too.”

He hung up.

He said loved, She never hated past tense prefixes more.

Sesshomaru sat in the dark room. With Ayame asleep the room was silent. He heard a noise and saw Kagura leaning against the door.

“You dare to show your face here? Are you merely that foolish?” Sesshomaru asked.

“It's a demon puppet. Someone with such a cold heart as yours knows that I wouldn't enter this place.” Sesshomaru walked up to Kagura and grabbed her shoulders. Sesshomaru knew that Kagura's puppet could feel. The only thing that made a demon puppet different then an actual person was that it didn't kill the person it inhabited. Just the puppet.

“What are you here for Kagura?”

“I honestly don't know. I wanted to see you…before.”

“Before the war, you shouldn't care you only came to me to get information.” Kagura grabbed his hands.

“I did at first, but it didn't end that way.”

“Leave, before I have to harm you.” Kagura's puppet looked at the floor.

“You're a cold hearted coward.” She disappeared in a disarray of smoke.

“My heart…is anything but cold.” He whispered into the air and clenched his daughter's fluffy in his hand.

Kagome paced back and forth in her room at base, the purple rug felt soft under her feet but she didn't register this. She looked at the applicator on her desk then back to the door.

“Shit, mother fucking shit, damn, fuck, bitch, fucking hell.” Kagome chanted as she paced back to the bathroom to throw up. Once she brushed her teeth to rid herself of the taste of bile she went to her bed. She laid down and grabbed her cell phone. She recorded the number back to InuYasha, she needed him. She was half sure that he wouldn't pick up but then again there was that other half, in which she believed he would answer her call.

“What?!” An irritated InuYasha answered her, Kagome took in a breath.

“InuYasha.” There was a pause, Kagome started to wonder if he hung up on her.

“What is it?” She choked up. How could she tell him, her sworn enemy that she was pregnant with his child no less?

“Kagome…?”

“I'm sorry InuYasha I should have never called.” She hung up then. He called her back but she went to answer the door when she heard a knock. Sango walked into the room.

“It's seven p.m. let's go.” Sango corked her gun. Kagome got up.

“I'm ready; I've waited for this for years.”

“Me too. Ayame is awake and in complete rage. I'm surprised she can even think straight. Everyone is going but the defense section, Shippo and Rin.” Sango finished then placed a hand on Kagome's arm.

“Are you okay? I mean I know this whole ordeal is hard and with Kikyo and all.” Kagome closed her eyes at the name of her cousin.

“Promise me one thing Sango.” Sango's magenta eyes sprinkled. Kagome always wondered why her eyes were not that of a human. Although she never said anything because Sango would get instantly mad and say it was Naraku's fault.

“Anything.”

“If I die tonight, take it as your job to save Kikyo.”

“Of course, but if I die and Naraku lives, Promise me his death.” Kagome looked at Sango and nodded.

“I'll make it my goal.”

Kagome, Sango, and Ayame stood in front of Sesshomaru.

“Are all your divisions stationed at Naraku's corporation?”

“Yes.” The girl's chorused. Each girl wore a plain spandex pants and a tight spandex type shirt with their names on it. Plain black sneakers graced their feet and guns, swords, and over weapons straddled their hips and back. An ear piece also attired them.

“Ayame you will enter the left corridor your task is to get Kiku, your division will help if needed. Your target is Kouga.” Ayame nodded then left. Sesshomaru looked to Kagome.

“You will enter the right corridor your task will be to get Kikyo; Kikyo's division will help you will your own division will fight Naraku's military. Your target is InuYasha.” Kagome kissed Sango on the cheek at threw her blue platinum ring at Sesshomaru.

“That ring was a gift from my great-grandmother. Hold it for me; if I don't return give it to Kiku for aunt Kagome.” Sesshomaru nodded and Kagome left.

“Sango, you will enter the center back corridor, your task is to make your way up to Naraku. Your target is Miroku and Naraku. I will be helping to get Ayame then I will get Naraku. The rest of the divisions will aid us.” Sango and Sesshomaru got up and left base.

InuYasha's Point of View

At ten forty-five all hell broke lose. At first we heard that someone invaded the left corridor and they came with one hundred people swinging swords and other sharp weapons. They were strong indeed I saw Ayame leading them and Kouga went after her. My ear piece informed me that there was another attack at the right corridor.

I ran as fast as I could.

Kagome stood there behind her group of people who threw odd things into my fucking team. Odd as in it blew up half the fucking room. I see Kagome sneak off to the stairs. I fight threw the crowd and follow.

Sango Point Of View

I see Miroku before he spots me and I shoot a bullet and it grazes his hand. He turns around and starts shooting at me I dodge and flip back.

Damn.

I look around. He isn't there and I spin around and catch him trying to get me from behind. That's just like him. I grab his arm and flip him over he takes a second to catch his breath. A second was all I needed. I put my gun to his head and he looks up at me.

“Where. Is. Naraku?” I say it slowly and menacing my teeth is gritted all the while.

“Shut up Sango.” He slaps the gun away and I shoot his hand. My aim is perfect as always and there is a small hole in his palm. He looks shock then pissed. He grabs what I can only describe as a stick before he knocks me over the head with it.

It became dark then.

Ayame's Point Of View

“Kiku, honey run into that bathroom and lock to door to I get you.” I shoot the youkai who dare got in my way. The lunar bullet causes him to collapse instead die instantly. No he'll die slowly within a half hour. Kouga strangely is fighting with me along with Kagura. We eventually clear Kiku's captive room. I run into the bathroom and I grab Kiku.

“Momma! Are you okay? Aunt Kagura took good care of me and uncle Miroku is really funny.” Ayame nodded and locked the door so no one would enter the room. She looked towards Kouga then Kagura. She laid Kiku on the broken couch and told her to try to sleep.

Normal Point Of View

“What is going on?”

“Ayame, I told the guys everything. They don't want to work for Naraku and are willingly going to help Sesshomaru's side.” Kagura smiled despite the blood on her cheek. Kouga looked Ayame and clenched his hand.

“Although, we have agreed to help you, Sesshomaru's knows nothing of this.” Ayame went to speak but Kouga rudely cut her off.

“I also speak on the part of Miroku and InuYasha when I say that we however haven't forgiven any member of Sesshomaru's elite assassins.” Ayame eyes turned a hard green and Kouga clenched his jaw and tired to not lash out at the woman he loved.

“I understand, Kagura can you do me a favor?” Kagura nodded.

“I owe you.” Ayame smiled.

“The can you take Kiku back to base? I`ll radio Shippo and tell him to let you in the back way.” Ayame picked up her daughter and gave her to Kagura.

“Sure, I'll use my feather and we'll leave through the window.”

A scream was heard.

AN: Here again with some more things to clear up.

Yes the guys and Kagura want to kill Naraku.

No they however haven't forgiven the girls.

Sesshomaru knows nothing of the guys wanting to kill Naraku.

I know it was a quick change of heart but all is not what it seems

Yes Kiku is safe and Kouga knows that Ayame is the mother.

Yes Kagome is in fact pregnant.
