Sorry about the near-to-a-week-gap in updating…I had a life for a week! -Gasp- Hard to believe, I know. I had to baby-sit, play with my brother, spa party, had a friend over, Father’s Day, and shopping! Therefore, I tried to write a bit more to satisfy the wait.

“Have fun honey!” Her mother waved after her with a beaming smile plastered on her face. “It was nice to meet you Inuyasha! Take care of my daughter!”

“I will Mom! See ya before school starts!” She waved back at her mother and kept walking towards the well.

“It was nice to meet you too, Ms. Higurashi! I’ll take care of Kagome; don’t worry!” The moment he turned around, his pleasant smile fell to a grumpy scowl.

“Oh, Inuyasha! You don’t have to look so depressed about it! I’m not that bad!” She frowned.

“Not that bad?! With one word, a stupid wench like you can bring me down! How am I not supposed to be freakin’ unhappy!?” Inuyasha grabbed her around the waist and pulled her down the well with him.

She closed her eyes and hung on to his haori tightly. ‘I’ll never get used to this!’

He studied her features as they fell. ‘She reminds me of Kikyou in this blue light…’

“Oof!” He hadn’t expected for the ground to come so soon. Quickly composing himself, he stood up with the girl on his back.

“Hold on.” She barely had time to mutter in confusement before he leapt out of the well. They were moving swiftly and gracefully through the forest and were a blur of red, silver, and black.

‘I can’t believe Mom took that so well…’

“Ahh!! Inuyasha!!!” She screamed as she was ripped from the hanyou’s back.

He skidded to a halt and spun to find her. ‘Where is she?’ He sniffed and covered his nose when he smelt her scent mingled with wolf. He started in the direction from whence her scent was coming and bellowed. “I’m coming Kagome!!”

“Put me down!” She beat against the man’s back. (She was slung over his shoulder.)

“Would you please calm down? I’m not going to hurt you!” She hesitantly complied. “Good, now, what’s your name, beautiful maiden?” He set her down and kissed her hand. A blush spread across her features at the attention.

“Uhh…Kagome…Yours?” She said none-too-intelligibly.

“I’m Kouga, Prince of this wolf tribe, The Eastern Wolf Pack.” He swept his hand around him, and for the first time, she noticed the youkai moving busily around them. Then she looked at the man himself. He was tall, with long brown hair, pulled up in a ponytail, and a headband. He had stunningly beautiful eyes, and she found she couldn’t keep her eyes off of them. He smirked.

“You are my woman. I want you to be my mate.” He leaned down to kiss the bewildered girl, when a low, loud, growl made her look behind him.

“Inuyasha!” A smile spread across her lips as she ran to the enraged hanyou. She jumped on him and threw her arms around his neck, nearly knocking him over.

“Are you okay Kagome?” Concern was evident in his eyes. He held her at arms length and looked her over for injuries.

“Hai, I’m fine.”

“Hey! Mutt! What’re you doing with my woman!?” He looked at Kagome then the wolf; Kagome, the wolf.

“What’s he talking about?” She shrugged. He growled and shoved her behind him. “She’s not your woman, wolf!”

“Yes she is!”

“How?”

“I found her unclaimed, and I say she’s mine!”

“Well, she ain’t yours!” Inuyasha lunged at him, and Kouga dropped to a fighting stance. Kagome looked fearful. ‘I don’t want anyone to get hurt…’

“Inuyasha! Sit boy!” He yelped, as he was pulled to the ground, mid-lunge.

Kouga looked bewildered. ‘That girl, Kagome…She just said one word, and brought him down…What’s going on?’

“Wench! What was that for!?” She crossed her arms over her chest at him resorting to, once more, calling her ‘wench’.

“Well, I don’t want you hurting him!” She put her hands on her hips. He stood up and frowned at her.

“So you’d rather stay here with him!? We have a job ya know!”

“I…know…It’s not exactly my fault! I don’t like violence!”

He took this as his chance. He ran forward, scooping the miko up, and ran as fast as he could back to Kaede’s hut.

“Inuyasha! What’re you doing?”

“Saving you from that wolf-shit! So, shut up.”

‘Saving me? Wha-?’

I tried. I know that’s not at all how Kouga enters the story…But I never got to see that far, plus I’ve only read about it. So…yeah, and this is my version, so I really don’t care.
