{Running away} (Chapter Three)

Inuyasha glares over his shoulder momentarily to pin Sesshomaru with a heated teary pained filled stare, before turning towards his Youkai. “You're the one who changed me, right?” Inuyasha asks the glowing pink misty Inu form, who nods its head in a solemn agreement with the statement. “Then change me back so I can get out your life already.” Sesshomaru Youkai glances over at him, his eyes pleading for him to make a move to stop his beloved younger brother, but pride and jackass stubbornness makes the demon lord hold his tongue. His Youkai turns away from him as it begins to consume Inuyasha's body, covering the massive white Inu demon in the same thick misty pink fuzz.

Moments later the pink misty Youkai pulls away from Inuyasha's body, which has lost mostly all of its fur, his ears have shrunken back to perky triangles on top of his head. Hands, feet, smooth sun kissed skin, human face, and no tail, Inuyasha is now back in his normal form. Though thoroughly naked, Inuyasha was no longer the Inuyoukai, which biology says he should never be due to his mixed blood. Inuyasha glances back up at Sesshomaru one last time, silently showing his older brother all his internal turmoil; before turning on his heels and walking wordlessly into the thick dark forest that holds so many secrets that Inuyasha wishes he could make disappear.

Inuyasha walks through the forest the world heavy on his back, the burden of his life weighing his heart down into the midst of depression. Completely naked he feels as though he is showing the world his emotions and heart, just letting them all sit out in the morning sun, letting the world know everything he has fought to keep hidden. Inuyasha travels back to his long since discarded clothes in the clearing that he and his brother had made love in, the pain tugging at his heart as he nears the small open field, almost brings him to his knees. Not wanting to spend anymore time than absolutely needed in the Gods forsaken clearing, Inuyasha rushes over to his clothes, shoves his legs into his hakamas, pulls them up and gets out of there as quickly as possible.

Sitting in the relentless flow of the river Sesshomaru finds himself frozen, devoid of coherent thought, his mind a hazy mess. His Youkai wafts back over to him, the mist seeming to melt into Sesshomaru's fur and body. Glassy eyes watch the sway of grass in the gentle breeze, the flow of water as it sweeps over white paws, and yet sees nothing. {In my opinion you are lower than he could ever be. He deserves better than you what you have given him over the many years. I hope he finds someone who will love him for all that he is, until the dying of his human blood takes him from this life.} His Youkai bits out at his cold-heartedness towards their future mate, or would have been mate as it stands. Sesshomaru continues to just sit there in the river seeing nothing, hearing nothing, and feeling nothing but his brother pained expression before he walked off into the woods.

A rush of feeling washes over Sesshomaru, the intense anger and sharp beat of his heart spurs him into motion. His wet soggy paw taking him … `Where?' he wonders, but doesn't know, somewhere, just … away. His feet carry him far into the forest, the trees, and undergrowth rushing by him at blinding speeds. {Where are you going?} His Youkai questions, not really surprised when it receives no answer, just the continuous thump of paws hitting the ground at breaking speed. A few hours later a high walled castle comes into view over the horizon, a battle ship gray stonewall lays between the outside world and the castle nestled inside its protective embrace. {Your running home with your tail tucked between your legs, I thought you were better than that.} His Youkai states in a calm, cool demeanor, Sesshomaru watches his Youkai mentally shake its head in the negative.

Coming up to the high border walls, Sesshomaru leaps high over the barrier, fur dancing wildly in the harsh winds. Landing gracefully next to the high building wall, Sesshomaru forces on his transformation back to his humanoid form. His body is engulfed in the same pink mist that had consumed Inuyasha, his Youkai form reseeding, the thick fur that covered his body draws back into his skin, his paws shrink to feet and a hand. His bones shift and reshape to human size and form, the crimson in his eyes melting away to reveal hazy gold. Stumbling on wobbly human legs, Sesshomaru leaps onto the balcony window cut into the build wall. The window is open and waiting for him to walk through as if knowing he was coming. Walking into the room, the ceiling high, the walls spotted with woven tapestries, paintings, and mounted armor. A massive bed stands pressed into the center of the back wall; black satin covers lay crisp and clean on the huge bed, fluffy pillows rest against the headboard.

Sesshomaru staggers naked over to the bed, where he falls backwards onto the satin covered bed heavily, his hair splaying out around his head like an animated halo. Bare arms laying out wide as though he were waiting to embrace someone special, nude lags lazily hanging wide. Sesshomaru inhales a deep breath before lurching up and letting out an ear shattering scream, he holds the loud expression of emotion until his throat is raw and almost bleeding, before collapsing back against the bed, falling into a sleep filled with nightmares and screams.

Inuyasha manages to pull all of his cloths on as he bounds from branch to branch in the high tree tops of the forest, bringing himself closer to his abandoned group, who upon arriving were still asleep. Inuyasha gazes down from his perch on a branch high in a tree at the edge of the clearing, Kilala's ears twitch as he comes back to the group. She glances up and stares at Inuyasha in the high branches, watching him get comfortable in the dense leaves. `Always alert, aren't you Kilala?' Inuyasha reflects as he closes his eyes against the soft flood of sunlight, pretending too have caught a good amount of shuteye.

Although Inuyasha put up the front of lounging, his body was really a wired time bomb, waiting to blow. His nerves on end making his senses hypersensitive and honed in on his surroundings. He felt like shit after what had happened this morning, he really should have expected that, he really should have, but he didn't, and for insane reason he thought that for maybe a moment his brother really loved him … for him. Oh, and that turned out just fucking lovely, his brother ignored him completely, didn't say a word, just sat there like a dead man. `I should have known better, but I guess this is my fault for having any hope of being happy in my life.' Inuyasha exhales a heavy sigh, a curse falling from his lips. Damn it why did he have to love that cold-hearted bastard so fucking much, if he could he would go out and find someone to really love him for him, but this undeniable pull to his brother made it damn near impossible to think of loving anyone else.

Dropping down to the ground, Kilala jumps to her feet, and stares at Inuyasha, before padding up and sniffing his leg. After a few small sniffs Kilala snorts out the smell as if it were sickening, and trots over to Sango and lays down at the demon huntresses feet. “Feh.” Inuyasha scoffs, sitting down by the fireless pit, ash sculptures of logs sit in the center of the ring of stones dusted in soot. Inuyasha sits there in silence waiting for his friends to wake from their slumber, knowing that it wouldn't be long now that the sun streaming in through the branches in thick beams of light.

Kagome squirms in her sleeping bag, a loud yawn breaking the morning silence as she stretches her body out to reveal the stiffness in her limbs from sleep. Shippo pops out from under the lip of the sleeping bag, his arms outstretched above his head, mouth open comically wide in a silent yawn. Kagome glances around the makeshift camp, and quickly spots Inuyasha sitting by the ashy fire pit, his arms crossed over his chest in a thoughtful manner. Shippo glances over at Inuyasha and wrinkles his nose at the strange scent that seems to be coming off the Hanyou, curious Shippo trots over to Inuyasha and sniffs his blood red firerat cloths.

Shippo gazes up at Inuyasha for a while before asking in an innocently childish tone. “Inuyasha, why do you smell like Sesshomaru?” Kagome watches Shippo sniff a few more spots of Inuyasha's clothing, his tail twitching at the smells, before the Hanyou became sick of it and shoved the kitsune away. “Mind your damn business runt.” Inuyasha growls warningly at the kit, who just sticks his tongue out at the grumpy Hanyou and heads back over to Kagome, who is staring at Inuyasha.

Kagome crawls over to Inuyasha on her hands and knees, which get dirty on the way over, and sits `W' like on the ground in front of him. “Where were you last night? I waited a long time for you to come back.” Kagome whispers out sharply, keeping her voice down so she did not disturb the other sleeping members of the group. Inuyasha just pins her with an icy sharp glare, before turning his view away from her, and staring off into space, everything around him a fuzzy blur. Anger spikes in her veins at Inuyasha's pure disrespect, at the way he just ignored her like she wasn't even there. “How dare you not pay attention to me. You are going to pay.' Kagome rants in her head like a psychotic bitch with a constant flow of anger, her brows furrow in her dark intention.

Jumping to her feet, Kagome points an accusing finger in Inuyasha's face, an expression of pure deranged anger bleeds into her eyes. “Inuyasha, SIT!!!! Sit, sit, sit, sit, sit!!!!!” The subduing commands echo loudly through the clearing, but other than that there is only uncaring silence. Inuyasha stares at the young, whorishly dressed miko, an air of calm indifference hanging around him. Miroku, Sango, and Kilala had woken with a start at the loud outburst from the miko, the monk and slayer rubbing the sleep from their eyes, as Kilala yawns, her tiny mouth opening wide.

Kagome stares wide eyed at Inuyasha, completely dumbfounded that the subduing charm had not worked. After the initial shock of the strange occurrence anger came quickly to fill the confusion. “SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT, SIT!!!!!!!!” Kagome screams in Inuyasha's face, and again nothing happens, Inuyasha just sits there silently staring off into space possibly thinking. Miroku and Sango stare on in surprise at ordeal, knowing better than to interfere with their friends' fighting.

Frustrated, embarrassed, and a whole lot of angry, Kagome steps up to Inuyasha and draws her hand back in the ready position to unload a harsh smack. Kagome let loose and swung her open hand around in a wide arc, picking up speed quick as it rockets around and heads for Inuyasha's cheek. Inuyasha catches her hand before it got anywhere near his face, his grip on her human hand is strong and unmoving as she jerks around trying to get her hand free.

“Leave me that fuck alone.” He says in a bitter cold flat tone, his expression devoid of emotion, as he releases her hand and turns his attention back to staring into nothingness. Shaking with anger and fear, Kagome backs away from Inuyasha quickly, tripping over the stones around the lifeless fire pit. She falls backwards into the ash logs, her skirt and white blouse now stained with soot, her elbows scratched and bleeding little drips of crimson. Kagome begins to sob, her hands coming up to cover her face.

Sango rushes to Kagome's side, she puts her hands on the young girls shoulders, rubbing her upper back reassuringly. “What's your problem Inuyasha?” Sango snaps at the cold Hanyou, who just remains seated, staring off into space, in her anger Sango reaches for her Hiratsu and swings the giant boomerang in a wide arc at Inuyasha. Inuyasha barely has the time to duck out to the left, just narrowly dodging the slayer's weapon. Jumping to his feet quickly, Inuyasha whips around, just to have to dodge the swinging weapon again.

“Leave me the fuck alone!!” Inuyasha snarls out at the slayer as she arcs the weapon at Inuyasha again. Inuyasha leaps up into the sky, catching himself on branch several yards in the air. “What is your problem Inuyasha?” Sango barks up at the infuriating Hanyou, who looks like a bright red Christmas ornament hanging from the branch. Inuyasha drops out of the tree, landing gracefully in front of the slayer, dropping a hand on her Hiratsu to prevent her from swinging on him again. “Sango just leave me be. Please just leave me be.” Inuyasha pleas, Sango gazes into his eyes, seeing the painful longing in the depths of his eyes. She knew that pained stare anywhere, she knew the pain felt, she knew she has that same stare, the stare of a loosing something you loved dearly.

Dropping her Hiratsu, Sango wraps her arms around Inuyasha's shoulders, pulling him into a warm compassionate embrace. “I'm so sorry. I don't know who, but I know your loss.” She whispers almost inaudibly in his ear, and at that moment Inuyasha knew Sango had seen the pain, had noticed the longing that swum in his eyes. Turning his head into her neck, Inuyasha sighs heavily against the soft flesh, before pulling away and glancing around the group, to find three sets of wide eyes staring at him and Sango. Glancing from Sango's knowing eyes to the confused eyes of group, Inuyasha steps away from Sango and says to everyone. “I'm going out on my own for a while, I need time to myself. Kagome I'm sorry I mage you cry, I just have a lot on my mind. And once I get my head clear I'll come back to you guys, `Kay?” The group stares at him for a long moment before each one of the group members give him a slow understanding nod. With a small sad smile on his face, Inuyasha turns from the group and walks off into the woods.
