Sakuralee4ever
Souta was st her side when she sat up slowly from her bed.
"Good-morning..." She said in a groggy voice, looking kindly at Souta . She soon realized the intrusion on her privacy but before she could kick him ou of her room Souta stood up and eyed her curtiously, stealing back her attention.
"What?" Did somone shave her eyebrows off while she was sleeping or somthing?
"Sis, are you o.k? Why didi you come home so early?" He kneeled down and put his hands on th ebed. "Where is Inuyasha and why were you just lyimg in the bottom o f the well like that?"
"Yes i'm fine, come back from where, and are you talking about the bone-eaters well?"
Kagome was confused, it was way to early in the morning to be dealing with such rediculous questions.
Her brother just stared at her. "What other well would I be talking about?" His expression did a quick change to a suspicious grin. "Did you get in a fight with Inuyasha again?"
Kagome raised one eybrow."Inu what?"
Just then her mother came in with some tea and nearly dropped it realizing Kagome was finally awake.
"Kagome!" she rushed over to her side. "How are you feeling?" She looked from her mother to her brother who shared the same worried expression.
'Has my family gone insane overnight?'
"Uh, i'm fine, though I don't see what's supposed to be wrong with me..." Kagome started getting out of bed. "What time is it? Am I late for school?"
Kagome's mother placed a gentle hand on her daughters shoulder to ease her back down in her bed. "It's Sunday Kagome, you've been out for two days since we brought you in. Thank-goodness for your grandfather! Who knows what could have happend if you stayed in that well for any longer..."
Kagome scrunched her eyebrows together in bewilderment."o.k...but...what was I doing in the well?"
It was Souta's turn to answer. "You know, doing what you do almost every-other day." When Kagome didn't respond, he continued in an obviously bored tone, tierd of stating the obvious to his older sister.
"Going to Visit Inuyasha and he others in the Feudal Era...?" She still did not understand.
'Maybe Souta's sick?Nope he looks fine to me...'
She looked to her mother for support but was even more weirded out when she found her nodding in agreement.
"The feudal Era?" She repeated skeptically. They kept nodding. "With a dog demon?"
"Mmhmm." Souta was starting to worry she would never remember.
Kagome held back her laughter, sitting up again. "This is rediculous, you two have been listening to way to many of grandpas stories. I'm going out, I need some fresh air." She headed to the bathroom to get changed, leaving two stunned family members behind- questioning their won sanity.
'There crazy or joking.' Kagome thought to herself, brushing her teeth. 'Gramps has to be normal.' She paused a second in more thought of her crazed grandpa. 'I take that back, I meant as normal as you can be at that age.'
Inuyasha's name scratched at the back of her mind but was easily brushed off by getting back to her routine of everyday life.
Despite what her family said, she felt a little different that morning. Not sick or forgetful. She just felt...like a part of her was missing. Later on that day she spoke to her grandpa finding him the same as the rest of her family.
But who wouldn't worry about her? On the other side of the bone-eaters well Kagura and Sesshomaru teamed up and completley destroyed the evil demon Naraku. The wto had no intention of Keeping Naraku's large fragment of te sacred jewel so it was then destroyed.
Word of this travelled throughout the land and the only other peices of the jewel that remained were in Kaede's village, safe with Sango Miroku, Shippo, Kilala and the preistess.
They also soon after destroyed their own peices of the shikon-no-tama causing the spell to lift , but how was any of them supposed to cross the well and bring Kagome back without any peices of the jewel, or the last peice Inuyasha had with him?
Knowing there was nothing they could do ,Kagome's comrads began to live without her as well. Even though they lived without her, they could never for get her and waited for the day that she just might find her way back to them.
Her only way to return lay in the mysterious power of the well, and the undying love she has burried in her heart for the seemingly lost Inuyasha.

On a bright sunny day in the middle of Spring Kagome and Souta were having a great time playing ball infront of the well house.
"Throw it higher Souta, i'm not as short as you!" Kagome laughed , tossing the ball back to her brother.
"O.k, o.k..." The boy backed up and threw the ball into the air, and as it fell down made an attempt to spike it but completley missed and teh blue bhall rolled straight down into the well house. It bounced off the steps and up and over the well. The ball paused for a second over the entrance, then looked as if it was pulled straight through the seals Kagome's granfather placed over the wood, blocking the well. It made a small hole in the wood and hit the bottom of the well with a thud.
Kagome and souta just stared into the well house shocked. Kagome turned to her brother. "Did you...:" She narrowed her eyes at the well.
"Yes I saw that." Souta whisperd, a little scared. "I'll go getr grandpa."
"Wait!" Kagome stopped him right in his tracks. "I can get it." She bagan to walk toward the well house.
"No!"Souta warned. "Don't go! Grandpa said-"
"I'll be out in a second, geeze." She walked carelessly into the small house, leaving Souta stunned still behind her. Her feet were almost silent against the steps.
Kagome circled the well, unable to keep her eyes off of the hole in the oowd where the ball dissapeard into. She noticed grandpas seals were gone...or..they looked as if they were burned off.
She stopped and pryed the wood off of the well, plack by plack. Kagom esighed after the last peice was removed and then lokoed back to the door of the well house. She took a deep breath and jumped down the well. It was farther down then she expected so she hit the bottom painfully. Kagome fell on on eknee and looked up seeing the dim light of the sun outside, lighting the roof .
She turned her attention back to the task at hand. "Right...ball." She looked for a second to grab it but then felt a strange energy in the air. In alarm , she tried to stand but couldn't. Then- memories came flooding back to her. Flashes of Sango, Miroku, Shippo, Kilala Kaede and the feudal era flooded her mind while the memory of Inuyasha tore at her heart. She bowed her head , remembering why she had to leave and the fate that most likely befell her friends.
"No..." She whisperd shaking her head, eyes wide from shcok.
At that moment a single tear fell to the bottom of the bone-eaters well and sunk deep into the ground. That tear, made with so much emotion -so much power - it glowed with the soft purple of a preistess' ablilities.
It seeped further and furtyher, touching the lost souls in the very pit of hell itself, allowing Kikyo to question her won actions of why she kept her past love from his destiny. His life was not to be lived with her- as much as it hurt her she knew he couldnt stay forever. As much as she wanted him to stay...she let him go.

"Inuyasha." Kikyo called to him from her place on a fiery throne.
"What." He kept his gaze to his lap. He hated her, he dispised Kikyo and she could tell. At first she chose to ignore it but it began to sink in how much she hurt him by taking him here. Was this supposed to be payback to him?Betrayal for betrayal? No. Somthing had to be done.
"I've...I've came to the decision." She reached up to stroke his face but he turned away, sickend by her touch.
She brought her hand back and held it to her heart; turning around she told him what he thought he would never hear.
"Go."
"Excuse me?" Did her hear her correctly?
"Go back to the realm of the living."
"Kikyo-but you-"
"Listen Inuyasha," She turned around with teary eyes. "I was wrong to bring you here. Your Destiny is not with me but...with another. If I truly loved you I would want you to be happy so, go."
Inuyasha's face softened and he managed a small smile. His first on ein months. "Thank-you." He stepped closer and kissed her softly on the cheek.
"Good-bye Inuyasha." Was Kikyo smiling? He couldnt tell but he soon felt the refreshing chill of the evening and the soft orange glow from the sunset. He had no time for scenery, he had to find Kagome.
After a tearful reunion with the others at the village they told him Kagome was sent back to her time.
The sun was nearly set by now but he had to find her, he ran straight to the clearing and without hesitation jumped throgh the well.

"Bye!" Kagome waved to her friends after a hard day of school and a relaxing time in town.
"Wow, it's really late..." She walked back home and dropped her happy face. As nice and together Kagome seemed on the outside, on the inside she was ripped apart and miserable. The pain she felt, and the emptyness that consumed her seemed like it would never go away. At the top of the steps she froze at the sight of a familiar red Kimono and long silver hair. His back was to her but those ears were unmisteakable.
"Is that..." She ran up behind the man and sensing her prescence Inuyasha whipped around. The soft glow of the sunset lit his features.
"Inu..." Tears welled up in her eyes . She reached out her hand to touch his face, making sure he was real.
"Kagome." He smiled, touching the hand she had on his cheek.. In a second he had her in a long-awaited embrace. "Inuyasha..." She sobbed into his chest, holding him so tight, scared he would leave her again. After a while they seperated to look closley at each other. Kagome was overwhelmed with joy at his return. Her expression quickly changed.
"But...what about the others...they..."
"Their fine." Inuyasha soothed smiling gently at her.
Kagome let out a sigh of releif . She couldnt stop crying. "I'm..." She looked up at him. "I'm so glad you're o.k."
"Dont worry, " Inuyasha stared lovingly into her eyes, sincerety in his voice. "I wont leave you again, I will stay by your side always." He leaned down and placed a gentle kisson her forehead.
"Always." He whisperd.
Kagome smiled and grabbed his hand, running towards the well.
They both jumped in and were soon surrounded by the familiar purple glow as they traveled back 500 years; Teh best part of it all was that they were finally together, proving that love does overpower all and when somthings meant to be , it always will be - no matter what the circumstances.
And the sun set over the well house and darkness blanketed the shrine ,as the undying light of destiny slowly faded in the well leaving everything as it was in the beginning.
