So by Static-X

So I've betrayed myself

So I've betrayed you

So what now?

So what do we do?

Pushing you away

Away from me

So I'm, I'm confused

So you're not amused

So I'm feeling used

So what do we do?

Pushing you away

Away from me

Empty inside

I'm dying, I'm crying

She makes me bad

Betrays my head

Empty inside

I'm dying, I'm crying

She makes me bad

Inuyasha saw a worn down palace in the distance surrounded by a dome of miasma. He felt such a powerful mixture of emotions that overwhelmed him making him stop to take a moment watching the palace. "Aliya... hold on... I'm coming," he whispered as his feet pushed off against the ground. He sprinted with all his might towards where he knew Naraku was holding Aliya.

Naraku awoke to find himself alone. Sitting up on his bed of furs and pillows, he looked around for Aliya only to find that the young woman was not in the room. Rising from the bed, Naraku picked up his yukata and slipped it onto his naked body as he moved out of the room. Walking down the long hall corridor, the demon kept his senses on alert wondering where the young woman could have slipped off to.

"Aliya?" he called out. Finally reaching the double sliding doors of the palace, he found her standing on the porch staring out towards the horizon. "There you are." Naraku approached the young woman who didn't turn to acknowledge his presence nor responded to his voice.

The demon slipped his hands onto her arms only to feel her tense underneath his touch. Naraku looked down at her, his face remaining passive although deep inside he wondered about her sudden change in behavior.

"How long did you think you could hide the truth from me, Naraku?" Aliya said, her voice sounding oddly calm and cold. "The truth is only in the eyes of the beholder." Aliya turned and looked up at him with an alarmingly cold golden gaze. "You killed her. Me. Because we dared to love someone else?" she asked him. Naraku's expression quickly changed as his face twisted into rage. "It was not just someone," he growled.

"That someone was my enemy. You gave yourself to me, to be my mate and here you were sleeping with that dog." Aliya's eyes flashed dangerously. "So you killed me?" she screamed at the top of her lungs.

"I TAUGHT YOU A LESSON YOU SHALL NEVER FORGET. YOU DO NOT BED ANOTHER DEMON WHEN YOU ARE MINE!" he roared as he squared his shoulders making himself bigger. Aliya clenched her fists. "I DID NOT BELONG TO YOU!"

Naraku raised his hand to strike the young woman only to be stopped by a voice he had much rather not have heard. "DONT YOU TOUCH HER!" shouted Inuyasha. A look of relief washed over Aliya's face as she turned to look at the hanyou. "Inuyasha..." she breathed in disbelief. Naraku watched the two of them as they met on the grounds of his palace. Inuyasha placing his hands on his woman.

"Inuyasha," Aliya breathed a sigh of relief. At that moment she felt thankful that the hanyou was able to find her. But her happiness was short lived by an angry shout from Naraku. "Get away from her!" he shouted as brown tentacles shot from his body. Aliya gasped at the sight as the demon she had trusted turned into a hideous monster.

"Aliya get behind me!" Inuyasha said as he pushed the startled young woman behind him. The inu-hanyou unsheathed his powerful sword and pointed at Naraku. "I'm going to destroy you!" As the battle words rang through the air, Inuyasha charged at Naraku swinging the blade of his sword.

Naraku dodged left and right, always staying ahead of the Tetsusaiga. He was quickly growing angry as he looked past Inuyasha towards Aliya who was smiling as she watched the inu-hanyou fight him. And the look that glimmered in her eyes caused him to stop dodging. Taking that as a cue for him to take the life of his enemy Inuyasha charged but was sent back towards the young woman.

Aliya gasped as she squated beside Inuyasha. "Are you all right?" she said, helping him up. "'M fine..." the hanyou growled as he turned towards the demon. "Only able to make cheap shots, eh?" he growled readying himself to charge. "I can wait to kill you..."

The battle that ensued between the two powerful demons raged all over the palace grounds. As time wore on, Aliya began to fear for the safety of Inuyasha and sent a water wave at Naraku. The demon turned towards her. "Helping your lover?" he growled. "If it means to destroy you, murderer than yes," Aliya said as she prepared to summon a powerful attack. "Did you ever wonder how I found out about your little indiscretion? How I knew exactly who it was that you had bedded?"

Inuyasha stopped the swing of the Tetsusaiga when he heard those words. He turned his head towards Naraku and then towards Aliya. The look on her face made him realize that she had gained most if not all of her memory. The young woman froze. The thought had crossed her mind several times since she left Naraku's bed.

She had gained all of her memories from her past life but that was something she could not understand. Aeiru had been so careful to conceal her affair even going so far as to wash herself in her lake. "How... did you find out?" she whispered.

"Why don't you ask your love?" Naraku asked her sarcastically. Aliya turned her face towards Inuyasha. "What is he..." she began to say when she noticed the look of despair and shame cross over his features. When she realized what had happened, she couldn't breathe. Aliya blinked as she slowly turned from Naraku to him. "You? It was you?" she breathed.

"Aliya... I..." he began. "The boy came to me soon after you fell asleep. He taunted me, picking a fight before he let me in on your little secret. Taking my virgin mate." Aliya's brow knitted together. "No... Inuyasha would never betray me like that. Tell him he's lying, Inuyasha. Tell him he's lying." She demanded. Inuyasha's gaze fell to the floor as he tried to speak but his words left him. He heard the gasp from Aliya's mouth.

Raising his eyes he saw and felt the pain and betrayal that resided in her heart. "You... you did it. It was all you. You went to him knowing what he was fully capable of. Why? Why did you... You know what. No... I don't care. I don't give a fuck what you were thinking!" Aliya screamed her eyes began to shine and flicker with rage.

Inuyasha took a step towards her holding out his hand. "Aliya... you don't understand.... I..." but before he could complete his sentence the inu-hanyou was hit with a cyclone of water. It spun him around and around. Inuyasha watched Aliya's face through the spinning water and saw nothing but hatred radiating from her eyes.

"Die!" she hissed under her breath even though he understood her perfectly. The cyclone suddenly spun faster than ever before sending Inuyasha flying over Naraku's palace. Aliya glared after his body as it disappeared from sight. Turning her attention back to Naraku she watched him for a moment before turning away.

"Where do you think you are going?" the demon asked her. Aliya raised her left hand towards him palm out ward. "Away from the likes of you. Both of you betrayed me for your own sick and twisted pleasure. Using me as a pawn to fight against each other. I have had enough." As she spoke Aliya began to walk away.

"You aren't going anywhere." The young woman stopped. Her shoulders began to shake as she turned her gaze back towards him. "If you think you are going to stop me you are dead wrong, Naraku. I'll kill you and this palace if I have to." Naraku stopped advancing towards the young woman knowing that what she said was the truth. She had been pushed to the edge and back again.

Aliya entered into the thick forest, walking from Naraku without giving him a backwards glance. She was on her own now. In a world filled with uncertain dangers and obstacles. I wish... I could go back to my time. Dealing with an alcoholic uncle and an abusive cousin seems better than what I am going to face here.

Naraku watched as she disappeared into the forest. He felt a strange sensation hit him in his chest and he wondered about it then remembered he had felt it once before. When Inuyasha stood before him with a wicked smirk on his face:

"Naraku, you tried to take everything away from me. You turned Kikyo against me, tried to harm Kagome and use my friends for your own means. I finally found a way to return the favor," the hanyou chuckled as he dashed towards Naraku. Never before when he faced the younger demon did Naraku ever feel confused and at the moment he did.

"What are you speaking of, Inuyasha? There is nothing in this world that you speak of." Again the inu-hanyou smirked. "Don't tell me you forgot about the hidden forest." At that Naraku stopped and stared menacingly at Inuyasha. "Ah so you do remember. And the beautiful demon that resides in her heart." Naraku's clenched his teeth together glaring at the hanyou. "You hurt everything I cared about now I am able to return the favor. I slept with your mate."

Naraku growled letting his anger explode out of him. The might of it shook the earth itself. "Beautiful... innocent... untouched Aeiru. Or I should say formerly untouched." Inuyasha chuckled as he disappered into the darkness leaving the demon alone with his own thoughts that quickly twisted with one thing that echoed within it. Kill her.

The young woman continued on her way until she cleared the forest and had put some distance between herself and the palace. Standing on top of a large knoll she looked out across the lands of feudal era Japan. She knew that her whole life was laying out there before her and that she would have to quickly learn things in order to survive.

But she was determined more than ever and so she trudged on towards the West in hopes that her life would turn out for the better.
