Silence by Delerium feat. Sarah MacLachlan

Give me release

Witness me

I am outside

Give me peace

Heaven holds a sense of wonder

And I wanted to believe that I'd get

Caught up when the rage in me subsides

Passion choke the flower

Until she cries no more

Possessing all the beauty

Hungry still for more

Heaven holds a sense of wonder

And I wanted to believe that I'd get

Caught up when the rage in me subsides

In this white wave

I am sinking

In this silence

In this white wave in this silence I believe

I can't help this longing

Comfort me

I can't hold it all in

If you won't let me

Heaven holds a sense of wonder

And I wanted to believe that I'd get caught

Up when the rage in me subsides

In this white wave

I am sinking

In this silence

In this white wave

In this silence I believe

I have seen you in this white wave you are silent

You are breathing in this white wave

I am free

Aliya walked behind Sesshomaru silently as they followed a path through one of the many forests in his land. The young woman stared down at her feet as she followed the quiet Inu-Daisho. Her large golden eyes filled with sadness.

She couldn't believe that she had been in the Western Lands for three years but it was true. If she was still in her time, she would be twenty-one. Deep inside she had felt abandoned and lonely.

The demon lord rarely if ever spoke to her although he didn't say anything, Aliya constantly felt his eyes upon her. She knew that every move she made did not escape his attention.

Once when she looked up at his face, she saw that his hard cold features slowly sink into a soft expression. But when he caught her pearing at him, his eyes turned blood red and he walked away from her.

"Having a hard time keeping up?" his hard voice fell upon her ears. The young woman shook her head although she knew he wasn't looking at her. "No..." she whispered.

Earlier that day, he had entered her room without knocking. "Get dressed, we're leaving..." was all that he said before he walked out. Aliya soon found herself walking with the Inu-Daisho.

The sun had set long ago and Aliya was beginning to feel exhausted. She closed her eyes and shook her head trying to rid herself of her tiredness but she could feel herself starting to fall asleep. "Nnnggg..." she moaned as her body began to sway.

Sesshomaru heard the quiet moan coming from the young woman. Turning he was going to say something but he stopped when he saw that she was trying to stay away. Sighing to himself he walked over to her and steadied her body as she slumped against him. He held her to him breathing in her scent. Reaching down, he lifted her into his arms.

Aliya's head lolled against his chest. She raised her hand and placed it beside her head. Moaning softly, she breathed in his scent. Sesshomaru looked ahead of them. He could hear her gentle breathing.

Growling softly, the demon lord stopped in a small clearing. Placing her down on the ground, Sesshomaru adjusted his chest armor as he watched her. Turning away from her went to search for firewood.

The young woman sighed as she slowly awoke to find herself alone. Sitting up, she looked around hurriedly. She was not sure why but she felt sudden fear. Rising to her feet, Aliya bit down on her lip. "Sesshomaru?" she whispered. She swallowed as she brushed her hair behind her ear. "Sesshomaru?" She strained her ears desperately trying to discern if he was near.

Aliya frowned softly as she walked out of the clearing. She walked past several trees looking around every one trying to see if she could spot the white haired demon in the dark of the night. The young woman was so deep in thought that she didn't see the pair of eyes watching her in the darkness.

They followed her as she walked along the roots of the trees. Aliya stopped staring ahead of herself with wide eyes as she felt something behind her. Turning she saw a dark figure looming in the darkness.

Sesshomaru's arms were laden with branches as he returned to the clearing. He froze when he saw that Aliya was gone. He growled throwing the branches onto the ground as he started sniffing around for her.

Suddenly his ears twitched as he heard a scream. Rushing through trees, he followed her faint scent to see her in a battle with a giant bear-like demon that breathed fire at her.

He frowned to himself as his eyes turned red but as he prepared to step between her and the demon, he was taken aback by the bear demon dropping to the ground dead. Aliya's shoulders rose and fell from exhaustion, her beautiful golden eyes filled with rage and defiance. She raised her gaze to Sesshomaru. "Why did you leave the camp?" he asked her, his voice filled with anger.

Aliya's gaze softened and filled with an emotion that Sesshomaru was not prepared to see. "I was scared... I woke up you weren't there..." she breathed. Sesshomaru's golden eyes watched her steadily.

He turned away from her. "Come..." he said as he began to walk back to the camp. The young woman held her breath but followed after him.

She sat down with her back agaisnt a tree as she watched him start a fire. As the glowing lights of the fire flickered to life, Aliya sighed heavily shutting her eyes. "I'm going to find food... stay at the camp," The Inu-Daisho Lord ordered her. Aliya sniffed in irritation. How dare he order me around like I'm Jaken. Running her fingers through her hair, she opened her eyes waiting for him to return.

Sesshomaru walked quietly through the underbrush of the forest carefully watching the ground at his feet. His ears twitched slightly at every sound. Near him, he could hear the distinct sounds of leaves and twigs crunching under weight. He stood still waiting for the creature to appear. Just as it appeared beside him, his hand shot out and grabbed it by it's neck.

Yanking it around, he was surprised to see that he was holding Aliya. The young woman's hands were placed upon his wrist. They stared into each other's eyes. The demon lord did not see any fear reflecting no fear of him. Defiant... was the only word that echoed in Sesshomaru's mind as he looked down at her. He raised his clawed hand to her face slowly.

Aliya did not flinch or try to turn her face away from him as he placed his hand gently on her cheek. He brushed his thumb across the bottom of her lip. Slowly he leaned down close to her.

The young woman inhaled as she watched him leaning towards her. When their lips touched lightly, she felt a surge of electricity that nearly caused her legs to give out underneath her.

Sesshomaru's arm wrapped around her waist and pulled her close to him as he deepened the kiss. Aliya's eyes shut tightly. She placed her hands against his chest armor as she submitted to his domination over her. After an endless moment, Aliya broke the kiss letting out the breath she had been holding.

The Inu-Daisho watching the young woman he held in his arms. He unwrapped his arm from around her waist and let her go. He walked past her without saying anything disappearing into the darkness.

Aliya stared after him in wonder. She didn't know what to think or how to react. She raised her fingers to touch her lips gently. Slowly she made her way through the forest following after him.

Aliya watched the Inu-Daisho as he sat on a hill near the camp. She bit down on her bottom lip and approached him. Kneeling beside him, she watched the starry night sky. "Sesshomaru... there is something I need to tell you." The Inu-Daisho snorted softly acknowledging her presence. She sat there not sure what to say to him.

Subconsiously she began to lean closer to him, placing her hand on his upper arm. She raised her eyes towards his face. Sesshomaru did not turn to look at her but continued to stare ahead. "Sesshomaru...." she said softly when the demon turned his cold eyes towards her. Immediately she lost her nerve and looked down to avoid his gaze.

Aliya moved to pull away from him but he placed his hand on hers. She raised her gaze to look up at him. "I'm sorry for being so distant..." she whispered softly. He nodded before turning his gaze away from her.

Aliya placed her head on his arm and closed her eyes as she sighed happily. Sesshomaru looked down at her. He reached over and ran his fingers through her hair gently.

Always stay here... he thought to himself as he turned his gaze back to watching the flickering fire. He could hear the gentle soft breathing of the young woman as she fell asleep. He sighed mentally as he leaned forward and pressed his lips against her head.
