InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Double Trouble... plus one ❯ Payback Part 1 ( Chapter 10 )

A/N: MMMM…. So where did I leave off? O yes, Inuyasha crying! Haahahahaha! Uh…. I haven't updated in like two months… whoa! Please forgive me! Heh ok moving on…

It had been ten days since Kagome had left the feudal era. She had been in school every day while avoiding her friends after deciding to hold off on telling them, AND was now tracking Rumiko down. This wasn't as easy as she had thought it would be. There had to be 50 Takahashi's in Tokyo! What would be the easiest way to track her down? Call her place of work of course! Kagome found the number of Sunrise corp. in the phone book and dialed the number easily.

"Sunrise Corporation how may I help you?" An elderly sounding woman answered.

"Yes. This is Kagome Higurashi and-" she was cut off by a sharp intake of breath.

"Miss Takahashi has been expecting your call. She wants to see you in twelve days at 2:00 P.M. sharp!" The women said in a surprised tone. The secretary hung up the phone, leaving a very confused Kagome to ponder. `Well, I guess I have to go back to the feudal era to get Inuyasha' She thought warily.

After packing a few supplies she headed toward the well house when a terrible sense of dread washed over her. Something was wrong with someone that was close to her. She figured it was Inuyasha. She dropped her bag hurriedly and jumped into the well. As soon as she hit the bottom she removed the seal and the bottom of the well immediately opened up, casting a blue light from its depths. As soon as she felt solid ground she climbed the green vines to the top of the well, only to find half of the forest ripped to shreds. `So this is what happened to the forest!' she felt sick. What was going on? Where was Inuyasha?

As if on cue a full demon Inuyasha appeared before her, sniffing madly. This surprised Kagome at first, but she soon realized that he thought she did not intend to come back. As slowly as possible she approached the dangerous demon and touched his shoulder before she spoke in order to calm him.

"Inuyasha, I'm here now. It's ok. I wouldn't leave you like that, especially in this kind of situation! SNAP OUT OF IT INUYASHA!" She finished loudly.

He seemed more conscious of what was going on because he sniffed her neck intently, as if trying to make sure it was actually her. `She's back!' was the thought that crossed his mind through the haze. Slowly his red eyes melted back to gold and his claws and fangs shrunk to normal size. He peered down at the girl he was embracing and was washed over with a sense of relief. She was really back. He was going to break the hug but suddenly remembered his conversation with Keade earlier that week.

~Flashback~

"Inuyasha, ye do know that kagome will come back." Keade stated flatly.

"No! No she won't! Kouga and Sesshomaru drove her away! SHE'S NOT COMING BACK!" he shouted. Keade rolled her eyes.

"Well, if she does then ye will give her this, I expect ye know what to do with it." Keade said with a smile tugging at the corner of her lips.

~End Flashback~

He smirked subtly. `Payback time!'
