Sango couldn't believe her eyes. She had to be hallucinating; it was the middle of the night after all. There was a chance that she could be, and a chance she wasn't. And if she wasn't, that could only mean that, the little girl she was now ushering into Kaede's cabin was real. The girl said her name was Sakura, and she was an exact replica of Kagome as a child. With the raven black hair and her eyes resembled the pale blue ones that she had seen so many years ago. Could this be Kagome's child, but she had thought Kagome loved Inuyasha. Was she cheating on Inuyasha just as he was her, in her strange time?

“Kaede? Are you awake?” called Sango into the old hut. Thank Kami that Inuyasha and Miroku were on call at another village or Inuyasha would have gone on a rampage. Just then Kaede came out of the back room were she kept all her herbs and remedies. The old woman was far from tall as she leaned over like a hunch back from old age. There was an eye patch over one eye and her old gray hair hung over her shoulder.

“Ye back so soon? Oh and how is this little one?” Unlike Sango, Kaede was not startled. She wore a poker face and was as calm as ever. “Your old and you look like the hunch back of Notre Dame. Are you Kaede? My Uncle Souta you could answer my questions.” Said an angelic looking Sakura as she stood there with wide eyes. `Uncle Souta?' pondered Sango, wasn't that Kagome's little brother?

“Why yes child, I am Kaede and what is ye name?”
“Sakura.”
“I see, and do ye have a sur name?”
“Mommy says not to tell strangers.”
“How can I be a stranger, if ye Uncle Souta sent me?”

Sakura thought about that a minute as she shuffled her feet and then looking up with a smile she exclaimed, “Name's Higurashi, Sakura Higurashi.” And she offered her small hand.

<AN: Does that not remind you of James Bond? I couldn't help myself. It was cute:>

Sango gasped as Kaede replied with a smile and took Sakura's hand. It was almost as if she was frozen in time. Sango couldn't move, she couldn't think, all she could do was stare at the child. `Well that confirms it, Sakura is Kagome's child.' One thing still bothered her though. `Sakura may be Kagome's child, but she doesn't carry her personality. She acts some what like Inuyasha.'

“Now, Sakura, why did ye seek me out?” said Kaede. She sat down on a cushion next to the fire and motioned Sango and Sakura to do the same. Sakura sat and started twiddling her thumbs as she wondered where she should start. `Mom did always say from the top. So that is where I will start, like mommy.'

“It all started tonight when I woke up and my powers were out of control. Mommy did or said something and I was back to normal. Then, Uncle Souta and Mommy started fighting. She disagreed with going down the well and Uncle Souta said `he had a right to know.'”

Interrupting Sango asked “Who is `he' Sakura?” Startled, Sakura looked at both Sango and Kaede. She stared for what seemed like eternity and stated, “I don't remember. Uncle Souta gave me some ramen and then took me to the well.”

“Ramen! Kaede, maybe Sa-” Sakura was getting annoyed, Sango kept interrupting her! “My story, My time so be quiet! Now where was I?” Sakura pondered for a moment, “Oh yeah, silly me. Uncle Souta took me to the well. He told me that you and you alone could help me control my powers. Mom is not strong enough, but you aren't the only one I seek. I seek my father.” She looked over to Sango and said cheekily, “Now you may talk.”

“Sakura, we only want to help. Who is your father?”
“I'm not telling.” Sakura said in a sing song voice. She realized how fun it was to tease Sango.

“Why not?”
“Because.”
“Because why?”
“Because.”
“Because why?
“Because this is fun.” With that said, Sakura Started rolling around on the floor laughing. If you looked hard you could see tears coming out of her eyes. Kaede giggled at that, but Sango just huffed. “You sure as hell got that from your mom.” A wishful smile broke out across her face as she remembered times past, “She loved to tease me.”

“You knew my mom?” asked Sakura. She had stopped laughing by now. “Yes, we all did.” Stated Kaede, sounding wise once again as she to remembered the good times. “And my Uncle Souta. You knew him to?”

“No Sakura,” said Sango, “He never could come down the well.”

“Well, if what you need is to learn how to control your powers, we'll start in the morning. For now, you can sleep here with us.” Kaede smiled and then made up another bed for Sakura. As Sakura lay down to rest, she thought of her mother. What would she say when she learned that she came here. Would she be angry?

Kagome ran into the well house, slamming the door open. As she reached the edge of the well, she could feel the aura-the very essence of the well's being coming off in strides. That's when she knew for sure, Sakura had entered the gate to the past and she had help. Kagome couldn't bare it, she broke down crying. Kagome couldn't leave her baby to the dangerous world beyond the well- to Inuyasha. But she absolutely did not want to see that hanyou. If she could get there before Sakura reached any of her old friends, she could get Sakura home with out any harm done.

Turning around at an old squeaking floor board, there stood none other then…“Sesshomaru! Wha-what's going on? You-you're in a business suit? Why?”

Sesshomaru took one set forward and Kagome took two steps back. “Good evening Kagome.” Sesshomaru's only reply was a frightful stare. He sighed and started explaining. Sesshomaru had lived through the warring times of the Feudal Era since he was full demon. Sesshomaru and Inuyasha had made peace two years after Kagome had left. The reason why he could live in a time were `demons did not exist' was because of a sealing spell he had placed upon himself. After Sesshomaru got done explaining Kagome was still wondering-“Why are you here Sesshomaru?”

At that moment, he handed Kagome her bow and arrows. “Run Kagome, go to Sakura. You will find her at Kaede's hut. Get there before it is too late.” Out of the dark stepped Mrs. Higurashi with an old beat up yellow back pack, that had seen too many years.

No word needed to be spoken between mother and daughter. Kagome gave her mother a hug as they cried, took the bag and disappeared down the well. “Will she make it Sesshomaru? Were we too late?”

“No worry's Mrs. Higurashi. All is well. Jaken, the time.” Ordered the tai-demon. A short ugly looking man appeared at his side saying, “She has, but two minutes to arrive and it will take less then that.”

Kagome landed with the familiar thump at the bottom of the well. The night sky high was above her. Morning was coming. Out of the well she jumped to come face to face with Kagura, headed toward the well. “So you are the reason he rushed me!” said Kagome before she could stop herself. The wind witch, raised her eye brow. “Confusing as ever, aren't we Kagome.”

Kagome just rolled her eyes at her old enemy, the female was as pretty and cold as she remembered her. “What are you doing here Kagura?”

“Trying to prevent you from coming back, but seeing as I failed, I'll just leave.”
“Why?”
“Oh did you not know? Naraku had a mate. Opps! Did I say that? Good bye priestess.” As Kagura spoke, she plucked the feather out of her hair; it enlarged and flew Kagura away.

Kagome had no time to think about what Kagura had just said, she just ran. She ran all the way to Kaede's house. When she got there she banged on the door. “Kaede! Kaede! Please, let me in!”

The door flew open to reveal a shocked Kaede. Kagome wasted no time with pleasantries; she flew into the room like a mad woman, startling Sango. “Sakura!” Dropping her bag and bows, she screamed as Sakura raced to her mother's embrace, saying “mommy” over and over again in a chant.

“Sakura! Don't ever, Ever scare me like that again. I was so worried!” At Kagome's scornful remark, Sakura looked up at her and she instantly melted at her daughter's innocent face. “Uncle Souta said-”

“I don't care what my good for nothing brother said.” Interrupted Kagome, remembering were she was, she rushed to Kaede, giving her a big hug. “Thank you Kaede. Thank you!”

“No problem child, but it was not I who found her. It was Sango.” At Kaede's reply, Kagome turned to Sango and said “Thank you Sango!” Sango gave her old friend a cold reply as she remarked, “Think nothing of it.” With that she walked out of the room. Kagome feeling the guilt weigh on her shoulder, turned to Sakura. “Honey, stay with Kaede, I'll be right back.” And with a smile to Kaede she left in pursuit of Sango.

“Sango… Sango, please wait.” Kagome had to jog to keep up with her. Her plea only made said woman go faster, though. Frustrated, Kagome raced in front of her friend, making a quick u-turn, successfully stopping Sango in her tracks.

“Can we talk? I can explain.”
“Talk, talk? Now you wanna talk? Okay than, let us talk. How about we talk about why you left with out a word 7 years ago. Or how about why you never came back or, here's a doisy, how come you never told us you were with child?” exclaimed Sango, successfully backing Kagome up to a tree. Holding her hands up as if to say, `I surrender,' Kagome began to pled her case.

“Sango, I know what I did was immature and hurtful. I know that you probably hate me for running away like that, but my only excuse is I was scared and that is no excuse. I am sorry, really-really sorry. When I found out I was pregnant, I was so happy and Inuyasha just sat there mopping around. He was and probably is still in love with Kikyo, and I can do nothing about it.” Kagome finished off her plea and when she looked at Sango, she knew she was forgiven.

“Oh Kami! I am so happy you are back, I missed you.” Screamed Sango as she jumped Kagome. The two just stood there hugging and passing greetings until Sango pulled out of the hug. “Kagome, I have a surprise for you.” Kagome looked on curiously. “What is it.?” Kagome asked warily.

“I am pregnant! You missed me Miroku's wedding, but I'm pregnant!” The two friends started squealing and jumping around in circles as they watched sun rise. Kagome took one look at that sun and said. “Were are the boys?”

“Well, they were at the next town on a request to get rid of a demon. I suspect they should be home any minute.” Sango could she Kagome visibly pale. `What's wrong with Kagome?”

“Sango, I need to get back to the well. Inuyasha will surely pick up my scent and know I was here. I can not face his temper or let him see my child, especially while the sun is up.” Said Kagome as she ran back to the hut to retrieve Sakura.

“Kagome, I understand, but will you come back?” As Kagome turned to look at Sango, the woman's face was full of sadness and concern. She smiled, “Of course I will. Just not in the day time and most certainly not when he is mad!”

“Child, ye must hurry. I sense the rosary coming closer and closer every minute.” Kaede handed Sakura's hand over to her mothers. Sango gasped. Surely this couldn't be the same little girl from before, could it? There stood a little girl with silver hair and golden eyes wearing a strange looking hat. Under the hat, Sango guessed, two little dog ears laid.

Sango carried Kagome's bows and Kagome carried her bag as they both left with Sakura holding both women's hand. As they raced to the well Sango had to say, “The father is Inuyasha, isn't he?” Kagome looked over at her friend with pain clearly in her ice blue eyes. “Yes, yes he is…now keep running.”

Way up high in the sky, sorrowed a nine tailed fire cat and on her back she sat the most perverted monk there was. He's name- Miroku. Behind him sat a small fox demon that went by the name of Shippo. “Come on, faster Kirara.” Urged Miroku, “I don't know why Inuyasha is acting so strange, do you Shippo?”

“Kagome's back and she brought a friend. I can smell it.” As Miroku looked back upon Shippo, they both seemed to get excited as Kirara pushed faster as if she could understand.

A little ways ahead of the group was a dog demon, silver hair and golden eyes adorned his face just like Sakura's. Dawn had just broken free when the half demon, Inuyasha, had picked up two scents. One was very familiar and another was a mix of his and the first. He pushed harder, as fast as he could go. The scents were moving now, along with Sango's and he knew exactly were they were headed. He would head them off, though.

He had never forgiven Kagome. The bitch left like a thief, steeling his heart. Now she had the nerve to return, just to run from him again? No way in hell. He didn't care if she sat him for eternity. For weeks after she left, he tried and tried to go to her just to be propelled from the well because of the seal. He'd get his Kagome back, and yell at her in the process.

As Kagome, Sango, and Sakura came upon the well, a figurer blocked their path. Kagome's breath, hitched in her throat. There stood Inuyasha as mad as a raging bull. Kagome was suddenly hit with a truck load of memories. The cherry blossoms smelled sweet, too sweet. She became dizzy. Sleep felt nice just about now.
