CHAPTER 18: PUNSIHMENT AND DREAMS

Kagome panted in Inuyasha's arms, watching Kikyou leave heatedly. How dare she! That she even had the nerve to say those things just shows what a fucking pansy she was. And her, pathetic? Please! It was Kikyou who was pathetic. The fact that she was still obsessing over Inuyasha after they had been apart for months, and still trying to break them up, made her look like little girl who couldn't have a doll. No matter how many spankings she got, she came back for more. But now, she had just crossed the line. It had been the last straw for Kagome, she wasn't going to take her verbal abuse like so many others have. Kagome smiled a little. God that had felt fucking great!

The cafeteria remained silent, shocked faces either looking at her or the door. Inuyasha stayed quiet, keeping a firm grasp on Kagome. Sango stood next to Miroku, wearing an identical expression of blankness. Sango blinked. She did not just see, cause if she did, it was a dream come true. Kagome just snapped on her like a schizoid. And it was wonderful. Miroku didn't blink once.

Then Kouga appeared in front of Kagome and got on his knees. He bowed.

"I am not worthy!" he groveled at a confused Kagome's feet.

Ayame came up behind him and pulled out her purse. "I will give you a thousand yen if you go after her and do it again."

Kagome blinked at her. Then collapsed into laughter. Kouga and Ayame cracked smiles and started snorting and giggling. Inuyasha loosened his grip and let Kagome drop to her knees in hysterics. As he watched her die of laughter, he couldn't help the grin that spread over his face and his shoulders started to shake. He sat on the floor next to Kagome, and just started dying. Giggles could be heard as Sango broke down next, and laughter escaped as Miroku tried to pick up his weak girlfriend off the floor. Students watched with amusement as the six of them doubled over in pain, holding their stomachs, as their lungs grew weak.

"Oh…oh my god…I think I'm gonna bust a gut!" Sango cried as she rolled onto her side.

"Not before me!" Kagome said weakly, her laughs nothing but gasps for breath now. She rolled over and tried to crawl to Inuyasha who had tears streaking down his face and turning beet red. Ayame was lying limply over Kouga's chest as they killed themselves laughing.

"All right you guys!" Miru came over, wiping tears form her eyes. "Time to get up."

"I'll say," a voice was had over the crowd. Students made a path as Mr. Sakaki, the man himself, stalked up to them. He crossed his arms, and frowned down at them. The moment sobered up instantly. "Ms. Higurashi, my office now."

With that, he turned and walked out again. The six exchanged glances, and Kagome bit her lip. Uh oh.

Kagome got up with help from Inuyasha, and slowly followed the principal. Kids gave her comments as she passed.

"Nice Kagome."

"Never thought I'd live to see that."

"It about time somebody taught her a lesson."

"I'd pay to see that over again."

She grinned at them as she passed. So, Kikyou wasn't as popular as she thought. Kagome strode past one of Kikyou's flunkies. "All right Kagome! Good job."

Kagome blinked her surprised, but smiled when the girl gave her the thumbs up. Damn, this girl is so hated. Inuyasha followed her out the door, and down the halls. He came up beside her and wrapped a hand around her waist. She looked up to find him grinning. He wiped under his eye and faked a sniff.

"I feel so proud…"

She shoved him, "oh shut up."

He laughed and put an arm over her shoulder. They walked down the hall in contented silence. Inuyasha smirked. Finally, a girl who can kick ass. His life is now complete. Kagome slowed down as the main office came into view and bit her lip. Inuyasha sobered and nudged her forward.

"Its gonna be okay, you'll see. The worst you'll get is suspension."

Kagome gave him a look, "my mom's going to kill me."

"If only I was so lucky," Inuyasha gave her a warm smile. Her eyes softened and she returned it. They strode into the office together, hand in hand. One of the secretaries looked up from her desk and gave them a pointed stare.

"Higurashi I presume?" Kagome nodded, "well, he's waiting back there. You stay here." she pointed to a waiting chair for Inuyasha. She looked back to him and he gave her a reassuring nod.

Kagome gulped as she walked to the back of the office, towards the principal's private office. She had never been called to the office before, it was almost embarrassing. In her old school, she was known for her temper, but she never acted on it. She wasn't a troublemaker. But now, she had gotten into a fight and was being called to the principal's office. She groaned slightly as she thought of how her mother planned to torture her when she found out about this.

Kagome opened the fake wood paneled door to a square beige office, with a black desk at the end of it, where Mr. Sakaki now sat. His desk was neat and clear of mess, organizers all over. In front of his desk were the legendary chairs that were straight backed with meager patting. On her left, Kikyou sat in one chair, stiff as a board, a butterfly bandage covering her nose. When Kagome entered, Kikyou turned and gave her a cold glare, fists tightening in her lap. Mr. Sakaki gave Kagome a bland stare and motioned to the other chair. Kagome quietly sat, her back straight as the chair. She twiddled her thumbs nervously. Kikyou wouldn't stop glaring death at her from the corner of her eye. Mr. Sakaki let the moment stretch, the tension filled quiet raising the girl's hackles.

"So," he started, "I see there was a fight, though one sided as it was. Kikyou has just come back form the nurse, after the nurse was kind enough to realign her nose and bandage it. Now you do know there are serious consequences for fighting. But please, ms. Higurashi, explain the situation."

Kagoem bit her lip and squirmed in her seat. Kikyou relished in it. "Well, Mr. Sakaki, as you know, I've been in a…bad situation lately." He nodded grimly, "and today is my first day back form that. And I know it's a big deal with some people, and people have been commenting, though I feel uncomfortable with that. My friends have been really supportive of me too. But I was still a bit shaky form it, and I was fine, until Kikyou showed up. I thought she was going to say something nice, for once, but I was wrong."

Kikyou's eyes went wide with panic. "She started saying things-"

"That's a lie!" Kikyou cried, "She's just using her position to get out of trouble!"

Kagome's eyes flared, "oh really, so everyone in the cafeteria didn't hear you say how I liked Hojo trying to rape me and that I did this on purpose?"

Mr. Sakaki narrowed his eyes at Kikyou, "is this true Ms. Onigumo?"

Kikyou huffed, but failed because her nose was too swollen, "no! I never said such a thing!"

Kagome jumped up and faced down Kikyou, "you lying slut! What were your words? `Yeah, its pretty sad you have to have a guy almost rape you to be considered'? I remember that quite clearly! And I'm sure everyone else did!"

Kikyou jumped form her seat and met Kagome face to face, her eyes snapping coldly, "well it is! You're pathetic! Is all that you could do to get a guy to look at you?"

"Ms. Onigumo!" Mr. Sakaki raised form his chair and spread his hands on his desk.

"Oh shut up old man!" Kikyou snapped at him, "Like you can tell me what to do! Do you not remember that considerate donation my father gave to the school?"

"Yes I do," Mr. Sakaki's lowered dangerously, "and I'm afraid you're going to have to take it back, cause from this day forward you are suspended for two weeks! And if this behavior continues, I will have to expel you!"

Kikyou laughed mockingly, and slide her hands in the same position on the principal's desk as he. She met his gaze. "Go ahead, I don't care. Cause my father could runt his school to the ground if he wanted, and I don't think you could have any say in it. But I want justice for what this bitch did to my face!"

Kagome watched shocked at the scene playing before her. This girl ahs some nerve!

Mr. Sakaki's brow lowered and his face flushed a dark red. He came around his desk and grabbed Kikyou's wrist roughly. She yelped and tugged.

"I could have you fired!"

"You do that Ms. Onigumo," he said, "and have your father donate his money elsewhere, cause you are no longer welcome here. Go clean your locker young lady, you are officially expelled."

Kikyou stopped in her tracks and glared at the burly principal. He met her cold gaze with a raised brow. Kikyou switched it to a dumbfounded Kagome. "Watch your back." She hissed before walking out and down the hall to her locker. Mr. Sakaki followed with his eyes as Kikyou exited. He looked to Kagome, standing almost at a lose of what to do. He sighed.

"As much as I regret it, I'm going to have to give you punishment as well."

Kagome blinked at him, "am I going to be expelled?"

"No, you are not. You I'm giving three days suspension starting tomorrow." He scowled at his door. "I'm sorry you had to see that."

"Are you kidding?" Kagome laughed, "that just made my day!"

Without noticing the principal's confused expression, Kagome walked out of his office in a lighter mood. When she entered the waiting area, she saw Inuyasha up and staring the door confused. When he heard her, he raised a brow at her lit up face.

"What are happy about?"

She smiled, "besides my three day suspension, I think this has been the best day of my life!"

Kagome sat by her window, bored as hell. At least this was the last day of her suspension. She sighed. Man, her mom had been livid when she got the call from the principal. Not only was she grounded, but also she couldn't use the phone, go see Sango, leave the house, or see Inuyasha until her suspension was up. That had struck a cord. Everything else she could live with, but not see Inuyasha for three days? That's blasphemy! And there Kagome sat in her room, depressed and bored. Souta had to bring her work from school, so she couldn't even get a word in with Sango if she had dropped it off. But most of all, she missed Inuyasha. She never thought she'd miss him this much. I mean its only three days, but it felt more like three weeks. She missed his smile, and his arrogant attitude, and his flashing gold eyes. She closed her eyes and brought his image up. He stood straight and tall, pride his biggest trait. He gave her a wicked grin that sent chills down her spine. He opened his welcome arms and she flew into them. Suddenly they landed on his bed, giggling madly. But then he captured her lips in a passionate kiss that she could feel all the way t her bones. She reached up and rubbed an ear, driving him wild. He growled erotically and flipped her on her back, the first curls of warmth awakening to her hormones. He licked down the white column if her throat and scraped his fangs on her collarbone, making her shiver against him. After a moment of teasing shoulder kissing, he brought his lips up for a tongue-torturing kiss, melting their lips together. They parted and he gave her a smug grin. She gasped when she felt her shirt slide up, but she didn't stop him. In fact, she pulled him into another kiss and only parted to slip her sweater over her head. Her hands frantic, she dragged at his sweater as she moaned when he dragged his tongue down her stomach. She felt her jeans waist go slack and knew he undid the snap. Before she knew it, his hand slipped in, under her panties, and against her warm wetness.

Kagome jerked awake with a gasp. She panted and realized she had fallen asleep on her windowsill. She looked down and blushed. She bit her lip as she removed her hand form her jeans. Okay, this suspension so needs to end. Cause when she saw Inuyasha again, she was going to have to make up for lost time.
