Chapter 5: Things Aren't Always What They Seem

§¤§¤§¤ Tuesday:

"I think that when she ran away with her boyfriend, it showed that there was hope and that she was going to make it, she didn't need her pathetic excuse for parents. Ya know? She finally realized she could break that bond and live her own life. I didn't see the result as tragic, I saw it as hopeful. So what if they died in that car 'accident', which personally I think wasn't an accident, but a plot to kill them by their parents; they died together, finally realizing they could be happy." Inuyasha finished his speech, and Kagome stared at him with rapt attention. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. Inuyasha actually had input, and his ideas were amazing. For once, she felt like he connected with the story.

"That was a really good analysis Inuyasha. I was going to have you read this book next, however, you are doing really well, and I want to give you this week off. I will try and clear it with Ms. Kaede, would you like that?" she asked smiling at him, thinking he would be pleased to have a week off.

"Actually, I think these assignments help out. I mean, I hate doing them don't get me wrong, but it is allowing me to graduate, I think I should just get them all done and maybe finish early instead of taking off time now."

"Okay then, that works too. Truth be told there is another book I want you to read instead of this one though. It is called Go Ask Alice. I would have to find it though, so if you want I can bring it by your house later tonight for you." she waited for his reply.

"That might work, my dad should be gone by now." he said calmly. His voice was rough from his quarrel with his father. He had blamed it on strep throat, he also claimed his cut lip was from a street fight he got into.

"Why would it matter if your dad was there? I am just dropping off a homework assignment." she asked.

"Well, my dad is kind of mad at me." he stopped, realizing he was about to give too much away, "It isn't any of your business wench!" he shut himself up before he revealed to much. Leaving Kagome perplexed, but realizing it was not her place to ask.

"Sorry, I will need your address though, I am not sure what street it is on."

Inuyasha ignored her request for his address when he thought of something else. "I know where I have heard that, we have that movie in our vault. Maybe, instead of reading the book I can watch the movie?" he smiled slyly at Kagome.

"Okay, this one time you can watch the movie."

"Great. You can follow me home after school tomorrow and we can watch it together, to prove that I watched it." Kagome nodded in agreement and Inuyasha added, "What is it about anyway?"

"Well, I fear if I tell you, you may not want to watch it." she looked around nervously, trying to avoid his piercing gaze.

"That boring huh?" he chuckled and Kagome's tension increased.

"Well, actually, it kind of reminds me of you, and I am afraid you will take it the wrong way."

"Just tell me wench, I don't like this mystery game." Inuyasha wasn't really angry, but he didn't enjoy being told what he would and would not 'take the wrong way'.

"Well, **An unnamed fifteen-year-old diarist, whom the novel's title refers to as Alice, starts a diary. With a sensitive, observant style, she records her adolescent woes: she worries about what her crush, Roger, thinks of her; she loathes her weight gain; she fears her budding sexuality; she is uncomfortable at school; she has difficulty relating to her parents. Alice's a college professor, accepts a teaching position at a different college and the family will move at the start of the new year, which cheers Alice up. The diary indisputably evokes the drug and sex-saturated atmosphere of the late 1960s. Easier access to drugs and birth control and an unpopular war in Vietnam only solidified their desires.** I've read the book before Inuyasha, and something tells me it might relate to you and to what is happening in your life." she spoke the last words gently and looked at the floor, for fear of the screaming that would follow.
There was no screaming however, Inuyasha simply got up, and said "Meet me at my car tomorrow, I'll let you follow me home," and walked out of the classroom.
§¤§¤§¤ Wednesday
Kagome went through the day, trying to avoid Inuyasha in the hallways, which made her seem as though she saw him more. All day she was afraid he was going to lash out irrationally at her. They shared something though, she thought of this during her last block class. He had seen her at her very worst, the day after the rave. Yet he didn't taunt her, and she knew more about him then meets the public's eye. They shared a secret, and yet they 'hated' each other. Her thoughts were interrupted when the bell rang, signaling, the end of the day.
Kagome gathered her things and walked to the parking lot. She found Inuyasha, surrounded by his usual group of admirers. She put her things in her car and walked over to him. He gave her an odd glance, which she shot back at him.
"Alright ladies, I gotta go. I'll call you later," he smiled at a girl with curly red hair and she blushed as they departed.
Inuyasha didn't say a word to Kagome as he got into his car and started the engine. She tried to say something, anything, but didn't know what to say. She got into her car and followed him to his house. He pulled into the garage and Kagome pulled over to the side and turned off her engine.
"Look, my life is none of your business and I don't like it when you but in. But I don't mind you, I mean you are a stupid, know-it-all wench. But I still need you to pass me." he looked at the ground, rather then into her gaze.
"I am sorry, I didn't mean to pry into your life. I really apologize." Kagome looked up to him and noticed a solemnity in his stare.
"You still wanna come in or not?" his voice sounded agitated but he didn't look it.
"Sure," she replied, following him into his house.
§¤§¤§¤
"Yeah, usually I don't like the movie over the book, but this one was a good portrayal of the book." Kagome spoke after having viewed the movie Go Ask Alice. Inuyasha had it stored in his movie vault, which Kagome was confident, was bigger then any Blockbuster.
"Ms. Kaede said you have to write a paper for this one." Kagome smiled and added, "but I will help you write it if you want though."
"Thanks." He answered dryly.
"No problem." Kagome looked around the room. A movie screen-sized TV sat against the huge wall and amphitheater style seating filled the room to the opposite side. Speakers were hooked up to the wall, to give optimum surround sound. There was also a metal door, which led to 'the movie vault'. Kagome marveled at the room, during a rather long awkward silence.
The silence continued, for another five minutes. Kagome sat in the chair, in an upright position, while Inuyasha slouched in his, to the point where he was practically falling off the chair. Kagome couldn't take the silence, it was piercing through her brain, and the silence was intensified in her mind, to the point where she wanted to scream, just to end the silence. The never-ending silence.
"So," Inuyasha finally broke the silence, ending her trance. "Are you hungry?" Kagome shook her head and smiled. She was actually feeling a little hungry, but thought it best not to speak up.
"What was your opinion on the film?" Kagome asked professionally. Inuyasha scoffed at her determination to keep things professional; but answered her question none-the-less. Kagome didn't really pay attention to his answer. She was gazing at him, as he spoke animatedly, sitting up in his chair to describe parts that stuck out in his mind. The beams of light bounced into his eyes, only to be reflected back out, leaving his eyes with a gorgeous twinkle. His long hair gently flowed down his shoulders, past his shoulder blades, to the middle of his back. His masculine frame was hidden behind an oversized 'Etnies' sweatshirt and his oversized pants. Still, he looked beautiful, unlike Kagome had ever viewed someone before.
"So that is what I think." Inuyasha finished and sat back against the arm of the chair, snapping Kagome back to reality.

"That is good, I am glad you had such strong feelings about it." She said smiling at him. Only catching a few words of what he said. He blushed slightly at the comment and the silence began again. Inuyasha stared at Kagome, he felt butterflies in his stomach and he had never felt them before. He had thought many girls were hot, but he never sat down and had intellectual conversations with them. He watched the light bounce off her long shiny hair, down her school clothes, which even though were conservative and boring, she made it look outstanding. He couldn't help himself, he wanted her. Kagome looked up at him staring at her; she gave him a nervous glance.

"What are you staring at?" She asked nervously, noticing the hunger in his eyes. Inuyasha leaned in and pushed his lips against hers. She sat perplexed, not knowing what to do. She had wanted him to do this; she had been longing for it. She leaned into his kiss, accepting it, embracing it. He begged for entrance into her moist mouth, she accepted without further hesitation. He explored the inner regions of her mouth, taking in every crevice, and taste.

Inuyasha picked her up, and without fully knowing what was happening, she wrapped her legs around Inuyasha's torso and he carried her out of the movie vault. He continued to kiss her, as he carried her through the house, up the stairs into this room. He closed the door with his elbow and placed Kagome down gently on the bed. Continuing to kiss her gently, down her jaw, slowly placing kisses on her neck, gently sucking in her sweet taste. He gazed into her deep brown eyes before he began to remove his clothes.
