They'd been traveling for nearly six hours, and dawn was threatening to come upon them soon.

Kouga ran with Shippou, Inu Yasha, Sesshoumaru, and Salem.

Sango had been riding Kirara but about an hour ago, the fire cat had completely exhausted herself, so now the cat rode in the hood of Shippou's hoodie.

Wolfwood road his custom motorcycle at top speed with some bulky object strapped to the back.

Miroku flew, and he had the now asleep Demon Slayer on his back, piggy back style, her Hiraikotsu across her back. He smirked to himself, he looked over to Inu Yasha who leapt from tree to tree, to his left.

“I think it's time we call a break, just for a few minutes.” Miroku said.

Inu Yasha growled. “No…”

“He's right, Yash, it'll give us all a few minutes to gather our thoughts, and figure out just where the hell we're going.” Shippou said. “Sides, I think Kaden needs some water, and I know the rest of us would feel better with a little food in our stomachs.”

Inu Yasha conceded, knowing it wouldn't do the others any good, if they were weak, and hungry. “Thirty minutes.”

In the next clearing Sesshoumaru landed, Kouga slid to a stop, Shippou dropped out of the trees, as did Salem and Inu Yasha.

Wolfwood slowed to a stop, and parked. “Why we stopping?” He asked, his sunglasses reflecting the setting moon.

Miroku landed ever so gently, so as not to wake the slayer. “We've got a half hour, for pit stops, and Food.”

Salem dug in his back pack, and tossed a cereal bar to Shippou. “Eat that, and scout ahead, come back in fifteen minutes, and keep Kirara with you.” Salem ordered.

“Gimme a nother, and I'll do it without anymore complaint?” Shippou asked, knowing one wouldn't curb his appetite.

Salem nodded, and tossed him a cocoa crispie cereal bar. “Use Foxfire if you find something.” Salem said.

Shippou shrugged and took off.

“Bro, you got a weird growth on your back.” Wolfwood smirked.

“I know. She's not weird, she's sleeping, I can't pull my wings in too far, I might wake her.” Miroku said, with a slight shrug, he kept his forearms under her knees, so she wouldn't fall.

Inu Yasha walked up. “Here, I'll hold her for a minute.”

Miroku nodded, allowing the Inu Hanyou to try and remove the slayer from his back, she wasn't heavy, just his shoulders were getting stiff.

Sango tightened her hold around the monk's neck. “No… Mine…” She mumbled in her sleep.

Inu Yasha raised an eyebrow, as did the other demons.

“Okay… Just leave her be then… I don't wanna wake her, she'll be upset.” Miroku said, readjusting his hold on his passenger.

Kouga actually smiled, glad that they weren't gonna torment the Taijiya anymore, because she was one hell of a force to reckon with when she was pissed.

Fifteen minutes later, the demons had stretched, and eaten, Miroku had eaten, and carefully flexed his wings a few times not wanting to disturb the woman.

Salem noticed it first. “Shippou should be heading back, but what's that sound, it sounds like a locamotive…”

Miroku took to the air when he felt the earth shake beneath his boots.

Sango woke when he took off so suddenly. “Miroku?”

“Something's happening.” He said over his shoulder. He broke into the open air, over the forest and saw green flame licking the sky. “SHIPPOU…” He called back to the others. On the edge of the horizon he could see nearly a dozen tornados, blue fire, and he could see the glow of the Shikon no Tama. “We're closer then we thought!” He yelled to the others, and he immediately darted forward, hearing the others crashing through the trees, and leaping behind him. He heard his brother's peal out.

“Why were we stopped?” Sango asked.

“We stopped to give everyone a little break, and to eat breakfast, you were asleep, I didn't wanna wake you, Shippou was sent ahead to Scout.” Miroku explained.

Nearly three minutes later, Miroku almost fell from the air, having to dodge, he folded his wings against Sango, and dove to the side, spreading them he soared back up, annoyed that something had caught him off guard.

It just happened to be a huge white dog with a teenage girl on his shoulders, that had just emerged from the trees in front of him.

Shippou landed on the back of the dog, with a triumphant smirk. “Pops, you never could wait for the cavalry.” He gave Rin a hug, as she beamed at him. “Hang tight, he's a rough ride.” Shippou said, settling to side behind her, and hanging on.

Sesshoumaru barked and growled at his father, a second before Tokijin emerged from it's sheath in his hand, he was beside his brother, who had Tetsusaiga already pulled.

Kirara leapt from Shippou and transformed on her way to the Monk and Taijiya.

“Kirara wants you back I take it, stay safe, Sango.” Miroku moved her so he carried her under her arms and set her on the firecat. Moments later Hiraikotsu was in the fray, taking out some of the lesser the demons that just seemed to pour from the sky.

Kouga leapt free from his cyclone, and used his claws as well as his Goraishii, on the oni.

Miroku saw it, the explosion of pink, and he heard the yell.

“DANCE OF THE DRAGON!” Kagura's voice echoed over the tornados.

“Hey! Dragon's don't dance like that! Ours is a little bit less deadly! Less you piss us off!” Indiana's voice came to the ears of the demons, as she emerged from the center of a tornado, swinging her twin katanas like nunchakus.

“Indiana, you comical come backs are breaking my concentration!” Kagome's voice yelled.

“Least it's only your concentrations she's breaking.” Kagura muttered, as she rode on her feather, in her PJ's out of the fray, she raised a beautiful eyebrow, as her crimson eyes took in the cavalry.

Kagome was still lost amidst the oni, and the wind storms that Kagura had created. “You know, anytime the cavalry decided show up would be nice…. But now, would be really appreciated…” Kagome said, still oblivious to the fact that the back up was there.

Inu Yasha tracked her voice, and landed in front of her, seeing she had a barrier around her, he smirked, “Wind Scar!” And a hundred demons fell, landing on the ground with sickening splatters.

Wolfwood had pure black wings, and smirked, as Miroku realized he wasn't the only one hovering. Wolfwood was going to town, with missiles, and guns on the oni.

Inu Yasha smirked, hearing Kagome gasp as he descended from the sky in front of her barrier in nothing but his red hakama that were a gift from his father years ago. His silver hair flew freely around him, as he easily killed all that threatened his Kagome, and his friends.

Taisho stomped a few oni, and killed a few with his teeth, and claws, but he was careful because he didn't want Rin, on his back, getting hurt.

“Dance of the Dead!” Kagura yelled as the dead lower class demons, oni, came back to `life' and started attacking the other oni.

Kagome's barrier was weakening, and Inu Yasha was being lured away from her.

Wolfwood watched, knowing all too well how hunting went, and he knew that their Miko was prey. Wolfwood slung the Cross Punisher on his back, and folded his wings, he dove straight for the miko, his holy powers as a priest allowed him clearance though her barrier, he landed behind her, and picked her up bridal style. “Sorry, girl, your front row seat ticket's been revoked. Puppy, let loose, I got the girl.” Wolfwood launched, knowing that this was his good deed for the day, he flew back past Miroku leading the Oni straight into the Monk.

Wolfwood stayed behind his brother. “Let her rip.” Wolfwood said softly, watching with morbid fascination.

“Wind Tunnel!” Miroku shouted the warning to the others, as he released the beads.

Taisho, Rin, Sango, Kirara, and Shippou were behind him.

Indiana, Salem, Inu Yasha, and Sesshoumaru slammed their swords into the ground, and held on…

Kouga dug his claws in.

Kagura easily avoided the winds and circled around behind the Monk.

Miroku fought to stay were he was in the air, his wings working hard, he sealed off the curse, as soon as the last Oni came screaming at him, and disappeared into his hand.

Inu Yasha looked to Sesshoumaru. “Is that that thing you warned me about?”

Sesshoumaru nodded.
“Wow.” Indy, Shippou, and Rin said in unison.

The rest looked on in silence.

“Cool.” Kagome smiled, proud of her friend.

Miroku landed heavily. He was tired, his shoulder's hurt, from his wings having to keeping him from getting pulled forward by the winds, and it took a lot out of him to do it, he could feel the burn of the curse all the way up his arm…

Kirara landed beside him, and the others slowly let their adrenaline level drop, as Taisho returned to his humanoid form.

Wolfwood landed, his wings disappearing, he set Kagome on her feet.

Sango dropped to the ground beside her fire cat, and the other's sheathed their weapons.

“Well then…” Salem said, making sure Kagura and Rin were alright.

Sesshoumaru raised his eyebrow at the bite and claw marks all over his Hanyou brother. Even a chunk of the younger man's puppy ear was missing.

Inu Yasha growled something along the lines of… “It's just a flesh wound…”

Kagome ran to him, and carefully hugged him, taking note of all the blood on him.

Miroku forced himself to stay on his feet.

“It was a trick, Father, Naraku just wanted to see what he was up against, just how many allies we had against him…” Kagura said.

Salem smirked and looked to Wolfwood and Miroku, before he looked to the Inu's, and then the Slayer and Miko, and the others. He looked back to his daughter. “If he can plan for us, we can plan for him, I'm sure we knew some others who wouldn't mind taking out a piece of him.” He smirked. “C'mon, let's see to our wounded, and get some rest, it sounds like we have a long road a head of us…”

R&R please, love you all.
