Mysterious voice
Kagome restlessly was turning in her bed. She cried through the first part of the night, still clenching the piece of the jewel. It was becoming a torture. She could always go downstairs and watch a TV or have a snack, but then her mother would most likely wake up and confront her, Kagome didn't want that.
It wasn't like this a long time ago
The sun used to rise
And the stars used to shine
It didn't seem real
It was all just a dream
Winged by the fantasies
Of something not real.
Kogome stiffened. Where did the voice come from?
“Who is that? Is some one here?” she asked, trying to suppress her shaking voice. Kagome couldn't sense anyone's presence, but then again she had not yet advanced in her training to be able to sense other people or demons.
I just probably dreamed that. But the voice seemed to be full of such sorrow. Kagome mused. Maybe I am just going crazy here…I wonder if anyone in your family had ever gone mad. She looked out of the window, as her bed stood just under it. Can't even see the stars…I miss them, there where so many in the feudal era. I miss them? I…miss my friends too, and it has been only a day, a day and two nights since I got back. Kagome sighted and turned to the other side of her bed.
Have to get some sleep…she yawned closing her eyes.
There was a city once
Standing on a cliff
Drowning in the sunshine
Of what is just a myth.
People chattered in a town
Far beyond the gloomy walls
There was no such word as trouble
In the sunlit halls.
Gardens bloomed with honey flowers
Clouds fell from endless sky
Paths paved by lonely showers
In the middle of July.
Sky has darkened
Winds grew stronger
Leaves have fallen
On the sandy shores…
Kagome woke up with scream. Her hands where all sweaty and her heart seemed to want just to jump out of her chest. Did I scream? Hope I didn't wake anyone…What was it? Another nightmare? I think I heard that voice again, too bad I can remember what it was saying…but then again I never do.
She got up from her bed and tip toed to the bathroom to take a bath. Its only 3 am…now I will never fall asleep. The sun will rise soon…she laughed… Inu Yasha always made it his first priority to wake every one when the sun came up, I never got used to that. Oh what am I thinking about! Well at least I am not in that gloomy mood again. She dried herself with towels, changed into a light blue skirt that came down to her knees and a white blouse.
A perfect time to catch up with my school work. Now if only I can find that book again…let's see. She walked back to her room and started going through the piles of notebooks and textbooks. Ah there it is. The rise and fall of the twelve empires peacefully lay on the bottom shelve of the bookcase. Now history always was my favorite subject. Kagome smirked.
“If only I could find where I left of,” Kagome muttered as she turned page after page. Ah there it is chapter VI, she happily proclaimed as she stared reading.

Inu Yasha was angry.
“Did she say when she was coming back?” he asked for the hundredths time.
“No, Lady Kagome said that she needs some time alone.” Miroku explained.
“Feh, she did not have to go to her own time for that”
“Inu Yasha please calm down, unless you want to go and visit her, maybe?” Miroku suggested. It's been only two days since she left, but they haven't found any more jewel shards. It wasn't even like they where looking for the shards, as Kagome was the one who could sense them. Inu Yasha was getting anxious as he wanted to see her again, and Shippou was whining too. He missed his mother, even if she was not his mother by blood as she was a human and he was a full demon, he stilled loved her and she loved him back, this was enough for the both of them to develop a mother-son relationship.
“Nah, I'll give her one more day” Inu Yasha snapped. Kagome seemed so upset when she left, he did not know if it was his fault, but in any way he wanted to give her time to deal with what ever was troubling her.
The end of the third chapter. Wow I never expected to post it so soon, I have so many exams right now, but I guess writing relaxes me….heheee. Hope you enjoyed the story so far…I can promise that it is going to get only better from here ^_~
If you where wondering the book that I mentioned The rise and fall of the twelve empires is not a real book, I just came up with the name for it (of course I checked up to make sure it was not real but if it is….I do not own it) well as that's said till the next time folks!
