Into the darkness

 

 

“Kagome! Breakfast!” Mrs. Higurashi yelled. After a few seconds of silence she added,

 

 

“Kago..o..meee! Don't make me come all the way…”

 

 

“I AM AWAKE MOM!” Kami!(God) Did I doze off again?! As much as I like history this book is…is…oh what's the use. Kagome got up from the chair, flinging her arms upward trying to stretch her back. This is horrible, ok…… mental note: never fall asleep while sitting on these, she kicked the chair, chairs and… never kick one, too.

 

 

Kagome went downstairs, although it mostly felt like she was dragging her body downstairs, as every muscle of her body ached. Am I sick or something? It feels like I've just been in a school race…she mentally cursed, chairs…chairs…I am definitely…she never got to finish that thought as the pain shot up from her right ankle as she tumbled down the staircase.

 

 

All she knew was that she twisted her ankle, missed a step, and the gravity took over the rest. Kagome could only feel and blinding pain in the back of her head. The beating of her heart seemed to be echoing through the whole house, as she felt her pulse getting faster and her eyelids getting heavier and heavier with every beat of her heart. Kagome struggled one more time to open her eyes, but it seemed such a strenuous act. So she passively surrendered to the welcoming darkness.

 

 

Mrs. Higurashi was about to call her daughter again, when she heard a yell and a thud. She rushed to the staircase only to see her daughter's body lying unnaturally twisted on the cold blood stained floor. Mrs. Higurashi fought the urge to scream. Her daughter, her baby daughter (AN: Kagome is 17 now, but you know mothers! ^_^) …was. No, she though as she kneeled down and took Kagome into her lap.

 

 

Kagome was still breathing although each breath was short and her face was getting pale. Calling the ambulance Mrs. Higurashi couldn't keep herself from sobbing as she described what happened and pleaded them to come there as fast as they could.

People stared no one spoke

Nothing happened for so long

War has come, it took its price

Armies rode into vast night.

 

 

Stars have fallen in the lake

By the city, for the sake

Darkness swallowed all the light

From the tired sightless eyes.

 

Flame shivered and then died

In the heart that knew no pain

Hopeless child wailed and cried

No one heard her, it was in vain…

 

 

That sad voice…Kagome opened her eyes. White. She saw white ceiling, white walls, white chairs, white blankets… and the smell, the smell of medicine. She was in a hospital. Kagome closed her eyes and tried to move to a bit more comfortable position, but with no success, as her head was throbbing and the various parts of her body started to ache.

 

 

Then the though hit her. I am alive! She tried to think back…What happened? How long have I been here ?Ah…why do I have o be so clumsy! I bet mom is worrying sick, she though, turning her head a bit, just to be able to see if someone else was in the room besides her. Probably home, I must have been here for a few days…Kagome's eyes began to close again. I wonder how Inuyasha is, she though, as the sleep finally claimed her.

“I am going,” Inuyasha snapped as he made his way to the old well.

 

 

It already has been 5 days since Kagome left. If she needed a vacation she could get one, but only after the jewel is complete, Inuyasha thought, as he came closer and closer to his destination.

 

 

Inuyasha landed right on the wall of the well. He sniffed the air. He could barely make out her sent, as it lingered on the rocky walls. So she really hasn't been back yet. Well then I'll just have to drag her here. He grunted, going through the well meant confronting all the noise and the smell of the future era. Inuyasha did not like it a bit, as his enhanced senses always suffered. But getting Kagome to come back was more important. Without a second though he closed his eyes and jumped in.

 

 

Nothing happened. Inuyahsa opened his eyes as a low growl escaped his chest. Something was wrong. Never has the well refused to transport him.

 

 

With one swift jump Inuyasha got out of the well and tried again. But it was futile; there was no blue light or magic there. It drove him crazy. What the hell did the wench do now? Why is it not letting me go?!! He had no patience. Maybe something happened to Kagome and I was not there to protect her, he mused.

 

It was going to be a long night, as he sat staring at the vast blue sky, leaning against the well's wall. Patience is a virtue, ne? What the hell am I thinking?! Keh…I'll wait till morning…then I'll deal with this, he though as he closed his eyes. “Kagome…Ka..go…me...” he mumbled as his slipped into a deep slumber.

Few….don't kill me! Kagome is alive and breathing! ^_^

Ah this is going to be good…..what about the voice? WHAT about the voice? Wait to find out!
