InuYasha Fan Fiction ❯ Eternity ❯ Chapter 1 ( Chapter 1 )

A/N I'm surprised that I got reviews for just the prologue…but oh well I'm just happy that people read it. When something is in Italics it means that whoever's POV (point of view) is thinking that. Oh and when it says "binder" I think some people call them "trapper keepers" just so everyone knows what I'm talking about. Now to my 1st chapter ^^ Yah! First chapter!

~~~~~ Chapter 1 ~~~~~

"So this girl is gonna help us break the curse?" Inuyasha replied

"Yes…" replied his companion.

"Miroku?"

"Yeah"

"How is she supposed to break it?"

"I'm not sure but all of us are supposed to be here to lift it."

"Then why are we here?" Inuyasha brought his gaze from the girl to Miroku.

"We're here just to make sure she's the correct girl before we take action." Miroku said

"How can we tell?"

"Inuyasha, look at her. Do you see how her skin seems to glow of life more than any other human being?" Inuyasha stared at her for a minute.

"Sorta…is the fact that she's glowing and stuff mean that she's powerful?"

"Yes she is powerful for a human but it also tells us something very important."

"What?"

"The priestess Kikyo had light surrounding her wherever she went. Only powerful priestesses or their reincarnations have so much power that it radiates off of them in the way of eternal light surrounding them. This girl is the priestess Kikyo's reincarnation."

"If she's the reincarnation then why isn't she glowing like a light bulb?"

"Because" said a new voice "it's been 500 years. And do you realy think a light bulb could last that long?"

"Sesshomaru, what are you doing here?" Inuyasha growled. The man smirked…well he wasn't realy human. He was a youkai with long silver hair like Inuyasha's. But unlike Inuyasha he didn't have dog ears on top of his head. He had pointed ears and golden amber eyes. He had two red streaks on either side of his face too.

"It's starting to get light and we don't want you guys to melt away. We should leave."

"Okay" Miroku closed his eyes then mumbled a short chant and then he disappeared into thin air. Sesshomaru mumbled the same chant and disappeared like Miroku did. Inuyasha took one last look at the girl then he mumbled the chant and disappeared too.

BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! Kagome slammed her hand on the clock; at least she tried to. She hit her hand on a book.

"Ow! What the…" she looked up and saw that she had fallen asleep on her desk. She stood up and walked around her bed to the table were her alarm clock was sitting. She turned it off but "Oh My God!!! I'm gonna be late!"

She realized that she was already dressed so she hurried to her bathroom to brush her hair and her teeth. She then rushed over to her desk and started cramming books and papers into her backpack.

"I didn't finish this stupid paper! I hope Sango is up to letting me copy her answers. If I don't pass in one more homework assignment I'm dead!" Kagome took her bag and ran out of her room, which lead into the living room. Her kitchen was connected to the living room. The only thing that separated the two was a counter. And on that counter was some cold pizza.

"ByemomI'llseeyouafterschool!Wow!Pizzaforbreakfast!Thanksmom!By e!" Kagome said altogether as she grabbed a piece of pizza and flew out the door. She ran down the hall and jumped down the stairs. When she got to the street she ran which was hard while avoiding 500 people. When she finally reached the school there was five minutes until class started.

"Shit!" Kagome ran to her locker and dumped her bag into it. She just took her books and her Binder and ran to her classroom. Sango was sitting in the back of the classroom. She had the same white shirt, green skirt uniform like Kagome and every girl in the school. Sango unlike Kagome, who had blue eyes, had brown eyes. Her hair was dark brown and in a ponytail though when it was down it was down to her thigh.

"Good morning Kagome!"

"Bad morning Sango."

"Hmmm let me guess you over slept and ran all the way here."

"Do you know that stupid worksheet?"

"Yeah" Kagome followed by handing Sango the sheet.

"What is society supposed to do with you Kagome? You only finished half of it." Sango handed it back to her.

"Yeah that's why I'm doing it now." Kagome took out a pen and filled in only three questions before the teacher walked in. Myoga-sensai was a pretty nice teacher.

"Oh no…" Kagome whispered

"First things first. Bring your homework up." Everyone stood and brought their homework and placed them on his desk in a pile.

"Now everyone open your books to page 305. You are to read legend I told you all about yesterday." He wasn't happy to hear some groans but that's what you expect as a teacher. "And then answer the questions on page…" he paused and flipped through the book to see what page the questions were on. Everyone held there breath hoping that it was a short story "ah, on page 322." Everyone groaned but opened their books and started "reading". I can't believe we have to read a 17-page story on some stupid royal prince that died 6,000 years ago. When will this day ever end? Kagome read until nine pages until she looked up. Almost everyone had their head down and she could tell most of them were asleep. She glanced at Myoga-sensai who was grading the homework. He didn't seem to notice that basically no one was reading the story. Kagome counted only five people including herself who didn't look like they were "resting their eyes". Two she didn't know but they had pencils in their hands. It was pretty obvious they were doodling or something along that line. Hojo was awake but he was just staring out the window. Kagome knew he liked her but she didn't care much for him. Kagome could tell Sango was the only one reading the story. Kagome took the piece of paper that was handed out for answering the questions and scribbled down something. She then threw it onto Sango's desk.

~~~ Sango's POV ~~~

I was reading the story when a piece of paper landed in front of my eyes. I opened it up and there sure enough in Kagome's hand writing, "I can't believe we have to read this. I so can't wait until we can leave this prison and go home! But take a second and look around. No one is reading except you, they're all sleeping. I'm gonna give up on this story and so should you." I don't think it's a prison but…I looked up and like Kagome said no one was reading except for me. Myoga-sensai was correcting our homework. I then looked at Kagome her head was down and she was out cold. Well if everyone has given up I guess I can too. Sango reached into her binder and pulled out her CD player. I'll still read but I don't think Myoga-sensai would mind.

~~~ Kagome's POV ~~~

"Okay students it's wake up time!" Myoga-sensai yelled. Everyone jumped in their desks wide awake. He would be a good alarm clock… "I've finished correcting so I'm gonna hand these out then you'll have another three or two minutes until you go to your next class." He went to six other people before he came to me. I closed my eyes while he placed the paper on my desk and I was sure he walked away. I slowly opened my eyes. On the top of the page in read ink, F. I got a F. Of course F equals "you failed miserably. I feel bad for your sorry ass when your mom sees this." Then the bell rang. I shoved the F into my binder and waited for Sango.

~~~ No one in particular's POV ~~~

"Oh Kagome you got a F! What's your mom going to say!" Sango sighed

"I don't know but I don't think I want to find out. After school when you get home change into normal clothes and meet me at the library."

"Why?"

"Mom gets home around six, she makes dinner and usually goes to bed around nine. The library closes at ten. If I get home, leave a note that I'm at the library with you she won't worry and I won't have to face her."

"What about Souta?"

"Grandpa's always there, he'll be fine."

"Okay but enough talking about what we're doing after school."

"Why?"

"Because we're late for class!"
