This chapter contains a few descriptions of a gang rape scene (Kagura remembers), nothing really explicit but still disturbing. I don't advocate rape, I think it is a horrible crime and my heart goes out to anyone who has been a victim of a sexual assault and their families. Oh and if the characters are OOC because they're evolving then they're OOC and oh fucking well, if you don't like It, don't fucking read it! Save your “constructive criticism” for another author who gives a fuck about what you have to say…..anyway on with the show…though I do love you guys, and thank you again so much for the support!!!! Chapter 5: A Single Star

 

Kagome awoke and jolted as she realized she was in bed with Naraku, she quickly checked him over to see if he was ok. He was still breathing and he was not wounded, she let out a breath as she realized he was just unconscious.

 

He had a pained expression on his face. She bent down and kissed his face softly, she caressed his skin running her hands all over his face , nuzzling his nose until his facial muscles relaxed. She buried her face in his shoulder kissing him and nuzzling him gratefully.

 

“Child” said the voice of Hatsuka as she looked at Kagome with an expression Kagome had never seen the woman take, it looked like….guilt.

 

“Yes?” asked Kagome in her normal tone as she looked up at the witch.

 

“I…I can talk” she said a bit raspy but her ability had returned fully

 

“Yes, your soul has become whole, which means Kikyou is dead….. You have also freed your heart from Inuyasha….. You can now reach your full potential. You have healed him, child…Naraku, he would have died, he was two breaths away from death when you healed him and now he is fully recovered. He should wake an hour or two” she said handing Kagome the large chunk of shard Naraku carried.

 

Kagome put her head down, feeling a pang of guilt that Kikyou was dead. She knew it wasn't her fault and that Kikyou was meant to be dead anyway but she still felt sadness for her dear friend and former crush, Inuyasha.

 

Kagome took the shard and looked at in wonder, it was pure….for some reason it was not tainted black and she wondered why…..she cast her questions aside for a moment and took her shards and melded them into one with the larger piece. One shining pink ball of light…..the jewel was complete.

 

“this is the dagger of the shiki and these are the scrolls…..it is up to you to chose how to use them, he has read them already” she said cryptically in a somber tone pointing to Naraku after handing kagome the items she had in her bony hand.

 

Kagome tried to shift in Naraku's embrace but he clutched her tightly to his body even in his unconscious state as if he was frightened to lose her.

 

The witch left the room and closed the door. Kagome could smell incense and tea, the candles lit the room just enough for her to read.

 

“hmmm, wake up soon sleepy boy, I miss you” she cooed softly into his round ear before kissing it and then his lips.

 

She began to read the scrolls carefully as she knew what they contained would change her life forever.

 

OOOOOOOOOOOOO Just Outside the Wolves Den OOOOOOOOOOOOOO

 

Kagura awoke with a jolt as she was kicked hard in the ribs. She looked up at the offender and gasped when Kouga grabbed her by the throat.

 

“WHY DO YOU SMELL LIKE KAGOME YOU FUCKING WHORE?” he asked as he choked her so hard she couldn't even cough.

 

“LET HER GO!” roared a female voice , Kagura recognized the voice but was too busy struggling to breathe as she clawed weakly at Kouga's arm.

 

`WHY SHOULD I SLAYER? THIS BITCH KILLED MY KIN AND ALMOST KILLED ME” he snapped.

 

“Your kin? You mean the one's who put you in this cage?” countered the voice Kagura now placed as Sango the demon slayer.

 

“Look we're all locked in here together and we all want the same thing…to get out, we can't get out of here if we kill each other” said Sango as Kouga dropped Kagura harshly on the ground.

 

“I still wanna know why this whore smells like my woman” he said smugly

 

“SHE'S NOT YOUR WOMAN!” both women yelled at him in unison.

 

Kagura looked at Sango and Sango at Kagura then they looked away.

 

“She….She's my mother” choked Kagura

 

“WHAT?” howled Kouga

 

“kagome….she's my mother you idiot!” spat Kagura as she rubbed her neck

 

“HOW THE FUCK IS SHE YOUR MOTHER? THAT WOULD MEAN THAT SHE'S FUCKED NARAKU AND GAVE BIRTH TO YOU AT LEAST A HUNDRED YEARS AGO SINCE YOU'RE FULLY GROWN! AND SHE WOULD HAVE TO BE A DEMON” he snapped

 

Kagura rolled her eyes “ Naraku created me with a spell , he used his essence and her blood, I was born fully grown but she is my mother and he my father, I'm a full demon because of something in her blood. The earrings Naraku gave me were hiding my real scent” she said as if talking to a child

 

“So…she didn't….you mean…” stammered Kouga

 

“ KAGOME DID NOT SLEEP WITH NARAKU!!” roared Sango

 

Kagura looked down and averted her eyes `if you only knew' she thought with a smile

 

“WHAT ARE YOU SMILING ABOUT BITCH!?!?!” asked Kouga as he kicked her again hard

 

“Stop that!” said Sango as Kagura clutched her side

 

“THIS BITCH DESERVES WORSE FOR WHAT SHE DID!” he screamed getting in Sango's face but Sango would not back down.

 

“You know what they did to her” said Sango in a low warning tone

 

Sango was very much a feminist and although she knew Kagura had committed the atrocities against the northern tribe, she felt that she more than paid for her crimes with the punishment they dealt her before. Everyone knew what Kagura suffered at the hands of the wolves as they boasted about it throughout the lands.

 

Kagura Looked away in anger still clutching her side, her regeneration was slow due to her jaki being drained by the bars.

 

Kouga looked down, expression hardened, he had heard of her fate but still wanted her dead. To Kouga, Kagura was nothing more than a piece of Naraku….though now she smelled so much like kagome, he even began to see the obvious similarities between mother and daughter.

 

“So I bet kagome is disgusted by you, a dirty whore for a daughter, a daughter she didn't even want with a repulsive hanyou” snarled Kouga as Kagura's eyes flashed with anger.

 

Kagura stood up tall and rushed at him , wind blowing harshly in her wake as she picked him up by the throat with one hand and squeezed hard.

 

“MY MOTHER ACCEPTS ME WITH AN OPEN HEART YOU FOOL….YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING!!!” she said through gritted teeth as her hand glowed pink and began to burn kouga's throat while hot tears trailed down Kagura's face.

 

Kagome was the first person to ever love Kagura and it changed her life. Kagura would not back down this time because she wouldn't stand for anyone to question her mother's love for her.

 

“Kagura” breathed Sango with wide eyes as the demoness continued to burn the wolf demon while memories of the atrocities she suffered flooded her mind and transferred to Kouga's mind through a connection she'd managed to erect between their minds.

 

Kouga was shaken as he suffered through the connection. The memories flooded her mind then his, he too saw the insults they threw at her while they violated her without remorse, the feeling of being alone and unwanted by anyone, the pain she felt when they raped her again and again rendering her body unable to accept another male until Kagome healed her….

 

…..now she had someone who loved her…someone who cared if she lived or died and it was the best feeling in the world…to be loved….. to have a mother.

 

Kouga struggled hard and clawed at Kagura's arm until the flesh was being ripped away in chunks but she pressed on singeing his neck with what looked and felt like spiritual energy

 

“KAGURA!!” roared Sango as Kouga choked hard while he was injected with her memories and feelings, his eyes began to bug out of his head and his hands fell limp.

 

Kagura looked at Sango and immediately dropped Kouga, then fainted.

 

“Kagura” said Sango softly as she felt the demoness' head and lifted her gently into a more comfortable position trying to handle her shredded arm with care.

 

“She really is Kagome's daughter” said Sango as she looked down at Kagura's face. She'd never really gotten a good look at the demoness. She looked so much like Kagome, even her nose was exactly the same, her red eyes and her hair made her look similar to Naraku but the rest was all Kagome.

 

As strange as it was to admit Sango had to admit that Kagome and Naraku made beautiful children.

 

She rushed to Kouga who was spitting blood but was healing rather fast. Kagura and the other strange demons in the cage seemed to be affected by some sort of magic but Kouga was not affected and Sango wondered why.

 

“Why aren't you sick?” asked Sango cautiously

 

“I'm a wolf” said Kouga as he coughed up more blood

 

“that's why I'm not affected by the cage, it doesn't affect wolves” he added as Sango looked at him with understanding

 

“those guys though, they stink of stench pellets” he coughed pointing at the two inu demons on the other side of the cage as Sango realized they'd stolen her stench pellets.

 

“They stole them from me…but why?....to capture them?...who are they?” she asked motioning toward the two inu demons who were lying next to each other, they looked alike, one male and one female. Both had long golden hair, a sun marking on the forehead and blood red stripes on either cheek.

 

The male was very tall and had a lean muscular build similar to Sesshomaru, his claws were sharp and his face beautiful, even more so than Sesshomaru.

 

The female was gorgeous. Her features were doll like and delicate, while her long golden hair framed her face and her body was beautiful, curvy in all the right places and long and lean in all the other places.

 

“The bitch is pregnant” coughed Kouga pointing to the female demoness

 

“Are they mates?” asked Sango

 

“The female is mated but the male isn't and they smell like each other, they're brother and sister…twins I think, they are from the royal family, I can smell it in their blood” he said coughing but healing

 

“Their Jaki is strong….they're tais form the house of the sun” said Kouga

 

“Tais? House of the sun?” asked Sango

 

“tai-yokai….the house of the sun as in THE house of the sun you idiot” said Kouga rolling his eyes

 

“You mean the Inugami clan in the northern isles?” she asked

 

“That's the one” replied Kouga as his neck finished healing

 

“I know the story….my father told me it” said Sango

 

“before humans were even created there were demons, the dog demons ruled the sky. They were in charge of the sun and the moon. A male demon was in charge of waking the sun and a female was in charge of waking the moon and together they ruled the sky but soon the gods became jealous of their love and so the gods split the day and night so they would never see one another again. She would sleep while he awoke and vice versa, just missing one another . She founded the house of the moon and he the house of the sun…..one day to be reunited in love again. ” Said Sango

 

“They are from the house of the sun” said Kouga pointing at the demons.

 

“And Inuyasha and Sesshomaru are from the house of the moon” said Sango looking to Kouga who nodded yes.

 

Kagura began coughing as she woke , she shivered a bit and then sneezed

 

“The cage is draining her Jaki” said Kouga pointing at Kagura who was trying to sit up, she held the arm that Kouga had torn up. Her flesh was falling away in chunks, since regeneration was impossible with depleted jaki.

 

“She took care of my brother….she protected him, I saw her” said Sango looking at Kouga as if telling him Kagura was off limits

 

Kouga nodded and spoke softly “I think she paid for her crimes enough already” he said remembering the memories she'd transferred to him.

 

The memories of being beaten so badly her face looked like mashed meat, as her body ceased regenerating. She'd given him the memories of her being raped so much her womanhood was torn to shreds. He saw her tied to a stone being washed with cold water in between males as they entered her mouth, her anus and her vagina roughly and without mercy. He witnessed them eating in front of her and throwing scraps of food just out of the range of her chains while she cried out and went mad with hunger. He witnessed her soiling herself after being beaten almost to death by Ayame's brother after he rendered her useless for sexual use. He called her filthy and disgusting……and he felt her lose her will to live but he also felt the unconditional love transferred to her by Kagome, her mother. She'd shown him some of her memories of Kagome and he knew now never to question the fact that Kagome was her mother. He would never question that Kagura's mother loved her because Kagome would surely have something to say about it and he didn't want to cross her.

 

He wondered how Kagura could even look at a male wolf demon or any male without breaking down.

 

Her spiritual power was strong as was her jaki, Kouga had never seen a being with both Jaki and miko-ki, it was astounding to him.

 

“hey bitch use your miko-ki to heal since your jaki is shot” he said gruffly as Kagura glared at him

 

“What miko-Ki?” she spat

 

“Kagura…didn't you realize,….you were purifying him?” asked Sango as she looked at Kagura's arm which was very badly injured.

 

“I was?” she asked in awe

 

“ha, of course the stupid bitch doesn't even know she has spiritual power” snarled Kouga as she glared hard at him, soon the wind picked up around the cage, blowing the dirt up as Kagura breathed hard, her Jaki was being drained more forcefully so her spiritual energy was filling in the gaps and suddenly her arm healed fully and Kouga began to feel like he was suffocating from the amount of spiritual energy radiating off of the wind sorceress.

 

“S…St…STOP!” he choked out as she realized what she was doing when she saw the inu demons on the other side of the cage writhing in pain.

 

She clamed her self and immediately fell unconscious again.

 

“SHIT!! THIS BITCH IS GOING TO KILL US ALL!!” snarled Kouga as he lunged for Kagura but was stopped by Sango

 

“STOP KOUGA!! She doesn't know she's doing it!” said Sango

 

“This is how kagome was at first too, the earrings that had been hiding her scent before must also have been binding her Miko powers….I've never seen such a thing in my life….a demon with Miko powers” said Sango in awe

 

“Well don't just sit there and gawk at her…… we have to make sure she doesn't kill us!” he said

 

“well, spiritual power won't harm me” she said smugly

 

“damn it all! are ya gonna let her kill the royal family from the house of the sun?” he asked pointing to the two dogs in the corner

 

“ok, I'll help her control her powers as much as I can…. You have to stop making her angry, it'll come out when she's angry or sad or even happy so we have to make sure she's in the neutral emotion range” said Sango as Kouga raised an eyebrow.

 

“KOUGA I AM SERIOUS!!!” said Sango

 

“Fine I'll stop pissin her off….the fucking bitch” he muttered the last part.

 

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Border between the North and West OOOOOOOOOOOOO

 

“INUYASHA!!” roared Miroku from atop Kirara.

 

“Hey what the hell took ya so damned long?!?” yelled Inuyasha from behind Rin

 

The little human had fallen asleep against her “uncle yasha” after she talked his ears off.

 

“Mind my pup, she will be irritable if she awakens early, especially if her mother is not near” said Sesshomaru in his usual tone.

 

“Inuyasha I have heard some things you may want to know about” said Miroku as Kirara came and flew just next to ah-un

 

“yeah well….out with it, what'd ya hear?” asked Inuyasha impatiently

 

“Well, for one Ayame has gone mad since we last joined her. The rejection of her mating to Kouga coupled with the death of her parents, then her grandfather made her feel helpless therefore she has set out to make herself more powerful going mad along the way. One of the eastern wolves from kouga's tribe was wandering the forest in search of food while Kirara and I waited for you. I took the chance to ask him what was going on with the wolves” said Miroku

 

“So Ayame's crazy, well she was obsessed with Kouga, I knew the bitch was off her nut” he said softly minding Rin who shifted in his arms.

 

“Well, apparently she went mad trying to make herself capable of seeing and sensing jewel shards, she's also gotten over her obsession with Kouga and has now decided she will rule without a mate, for the time being that is. Apparently she's moved her attentions to the King of the northern isles, though she intends to use him” said Miroku

 

“The lord of the northern isles you say?” asked Sesshomaru

 

“yes my lord, apparently she has deluded herself into thinking he loves her, though he finds her repulsive and has declined her mating proposals several times. She now thinks that if she gets the jewel she will be able to woo the King of the house of the sun, then kill him and take control of his lands” said Miroku

 

“That may be why she has taken my mate, my mate Hikarimi, is the only female heiress of the northern isles, she could have taken her as collateral in case her scheme did not work” said Sesshomaru as he thought about what Ayame's ultimate motives could be.

 

“She must have Kagome too, if she's tryin' to see shards” said Inuyasha in a worried tone

 

“Well my informant said she planned on killing Kagome-sama and taking the jewel from Naraku after she took Kagome's powers….he also seemed to think she wanted to absorb the powers of a tai-yokai because the wolf kingdom is without tai-yokai blood in their royal line…she has apparently decided on the demon whose power she would take…they think it will be you my lord” said Miroku looking at Sesshomaru while the demon lord flipped his hair arrogantly.

 

“Is that possible?” asked Inuyasha

 

“No, it is not, the wolf did not know what method she was going to use to try and absorb lady kagome and Lord Sesshomaru's powers but he said she'd convinced herself that it was possible” said Miroku

 

“I believe she thinks to use the same spell Naraku was going to use to absorb you and Sesshomaru-sama when he kidnapped Rin” said Miroku

 

“She however, is not trained in sorcery nor is that spell capable of allowing the caster to absorb Miko power” said Miroku

 

“So you think she's waiting for Sesshomaru before she tried to absorb both his and Kagome's powers?” asked Inuyasha in a hopeful tone

 

“Yes I think Hikarimi-Hime is the bait intended to lure Sesshomaru-sama….I only hope she has not tried to absorb Kagome's powers yet” he said looking down

 

“WE GOTTA HURRY BEFORE SHE HURTS KAGOME!” said Inuyasha through gritted teeth

 

Little did they know our Kagome was safe and sound with Naraku…….

 

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Witch's Hut OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

 

Tears streamed down Kagome's face and fell on Naraku's chest as she finished reading the scrolls. She let the book fall out of her hands and onto the floor as she replayed the spell of sealing in her mind.

 

He could not seal her……the only one she wanted could not seal her because he was a hanyou………

 

He groaned and opened his eyes, he sniffed the air and smelled her tears, he looked at her with wide eyes. She looked at him and smiled

 

“You're ok” she said with a tearful voice as she threw her arms around his neck and hugged him tightly, he tightened his hold on her to an almost painful degree.

 

He closed his eyes and buried his face in her hair smelling her heavenly scent and relishing the feel of her body against his.

 

They stayed like that for what seemed like an eternity until he spoke

 

“You can speak” he said lightly pulling her chin up so she could look at him

 

“Yeah, I can” she said softly, feeling a bit bashful since it was the first time she actually spoke to him since they'd begun their relationship.

 

They looked at each other knowingly; both of their eyes spoke of the heavy sadness in their hearts.

 

“I have retrieved the scrolls” he said trying to regulate his breath so as not to give into the anger he felt.

 

She felt the tears escape her eyes as she looked into his eyes

 

“I know” she breathed “I read them” she said as he felt her tears hit his cheeks, her face was just above his as she laid on top of him, clutched tightly to him, her weight was nothing to him.

 

He took her hands in his interlacing their fingers and she rested her face on his, their cheeks against each other ,eyes closed.

 

“I…I cannot seal you” he said softly

 

“There…there's a way you can become a full demon” she said , her voice firm as she shifted so their foreheads touched and her eyes looked into his with sincerity.

 

“I….I won't let anyone else seal me….. I can't….. I'd rather die…… you…you can become a full demon with the wish spell….you can make sure the demons co-exist with humans…..promise me you will” she said as his eyes widened with shock as he realized what she was saying

 

She picked up the whole jewel and the dagger an put them in his hands

 

“it's the only way” she said as tears fell from her eyes , she raised her neck to him and spoke softly

 

“Promise me you wont forget me” she said not looking at him as she choked back a sob

 

Suddenly she found herself being pulled roughly as he shifted them so that he was on top of her , his face millimeters from hers, his eyes angry as she felt one of his hands pulling her hair roughly and the tip of the dagger against her jugular vein. His eyes were raging

with anger and widened as his mouth was twisted into a snarl

 

“Is this what you want? YOU STUPID FOOL!?!? YOU DIE SO WILLINGLY!!?!?!” he roared in her face as tears trailed down the sides of her head.

 

“For you….Yes….for your wish…Yes….I would gladly give my life for your happiness” she said , her voice firm and unwavering as her eyes told him that she meant every word of it.

 

“YOU LITTLE IDIOT!! DON'T YOU SEE?” he yelled as he threw the dagger and the jewel on the ground harshly and grabbed her face in both hands. He pressed his forehead to hers and looked into her eyes with his own wild ones as his weight held her down to the futon.

 

“DON'T YOU SEE?!?!?! IF YOU DIE …I DIE!!!! YOU ARE MY HEART!!! YOU ARE MY SOUL!!! YOU ARE EVERYTHING TO ME!!!! I LOVE YOU!!!” he yelled heatedly as his eyes leaked heavy tears into her own eyes.

 

“I…If you die for my wish to become a demon…it would be a waste….because this Naraku would follow you into hell…..the jewel…the wish….none of it matters to me if you are not by my side” he said searching her eyes for something…anything.

 

“I…If you can't seal me ….I will not be sealed…I would rather die than have another mans hands on me…..if I cannot feel your touch…kiss your lips….share your love….I don't care about the stupid jewel either” she said before he sat up with her in his arms and clutched her to him as violent sobs wracked her small body and tears calmly left his eyes.

 

Frustration…..anger……pain……and love all escaped their bodies in waves as they cried against each other.

 

“ I LOVE YOU NARAKU” she said as she looked up at him, she ran her hand through his hair tenderly as he leaned into her touch

 

“ I LOVE YOU….MY KAGOME” he said as he held her face in his big hands before he bent down and kissed her lightly , they kissed with everything they had, giving everything, their very lives, deepening the kiss to the deepest level imaginable.

 

At that very moment they were engulfed by light radiating from the jewel, it entered Kagome's body and then Naraku's through their connected mouths.

 

Suddenly, Naraku was thrown back, he was writhing on the floor in pain as his bones shifted and his internal organs felt as if they were going to explode.

 

“Na…Naraku?” gasped kagome as she attempted to go to her lover but was held back by a strong barrier.

 

He was still seizing on the floor as his ears pointed and his claws sharpened , a red marking appeared on his forehead, it was like a jagged stripe that reminded kagome of a Christmas tree cookie without the stump at the bottom but she would keep that information to herself.

 

She smiled as she realized what was happening……. He got his wish….the wish spell of love…..

 

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO North OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

 

“And that's how I defeated the Monkey oni tribe single handedly” boasted Kouga as Sango rolled her eyes and Kagura huffed in annoyance

 

“What ? you two bitches don't believe me? Trust me, you don't want to see a male monkey oni when he's in heat because he'll fuck anything, males females…animals….whatever he can get his ugly fingers on” he said with disgust on his face.

 

“Was this before or after you used my mother's jewel shards?....and were you ever on the receiving end of a male monkey demon you seem to know a lot about their heat cycles” said Kagura as Sango choked back a laugh

 

“Hey it wasn't cause of the jewel shards!!! And I ain't never been fucked by a monkey oni you dumb cunt!!!” he said angrily

 

“WHAT DID YOU CALL ME, YOU FLEA BAG?!?!” she said heatedly as the wind picked up around her.

 

“I CALLED YOU A….” he trailed off as he felt her energy rising and Sango gave him a warning look.

 

“Never mind” he said as he sat in his corner looking away

 

“ I wonder when those two are gonna wake up” asked Sango pointing to their passed out cell mates

 

“Are you sure they're not dead?” asked Kagura dejectedly

 

“They're not dead, bitch they're sick from stench pellets” huffed Kouga

 

“Is that what that smell is?…and here I thought it was you all this time” she said in a sweet tone with a smug expression as he fought to control his rage.

 

“Bitch….Kill…..Whore…….Lucky… ...Miko” is all Kagura heard as Kouga sulked and grumbled in the corner facing away from them, tail swishing from side to side angrily.

 

Suddenly they heard a moan from the male inu demon on the ground

 

“Are…are you alright?' asked Sango as she kneeled next to the demon. He did not speak, he only groaned as she felt his forehead.

 

His eyes flew open and he looked up at Sango with brilliant emerald eyes, he tried to focus his eyes and then sniffed the air, he reached up and caressed Sango's cheek softly.

 

“beautiful” he breathed before his eyes rolled back into his head and they bled red much like Inuyasha when he would go into full demon mode.

 

“mmggrr, mate” he said gruffly as he pulled Sango down over him

 

she was wide eyed as he pulled her down and sniffed her shoulder then began to lick her.

 

“Bitch smell good, mine!” he said again before he clung to her hard

 

“MINE! BITCH MINE!” he snarled on the direction where he smelled Kouga's scent

 

Kouga barked something at the demon and he relaxed still sniffing Sango “good bitch” he said softly with a whimper “heal mate” he said before he fell unconscious again.

 

“Kouga? What just happened?” asked Sango as she tried to break free from the inu's arms

 

“he's claimed you….I guess your scent made his beast stir” said Kouga

 

“He must be really sick to claim a human” he added with a chuckle as Sango glared and tried again to get out of his arms. The demon growled low and nuzzled her neck

 

“Lick his cheek” said kouga

 

“what?” huffed Sango

 

“Lick his cheek as a sign of submission, then he might let you go as long as he can scent you” said Kouga

“you would do well to hold on to her wolf” said the demoness with a chuckle as kouga grumbled some more about the “ugly bitch” in his arms clutching her a bit tighter.

 

“But you said Tai- yokai are immune to spiritual energy….your brother and you reacted to her energy spikes in your sleep” said Sango

 

“That is also an attribute which only belongs to true tai-yokai. Only the Shikon Miko herself and her demon offspring are capable of purifying tai-yokai” she said looking at Kagura in awe

 

“Why have I never heard the true nature of a Shikon Miko?' gasped Sango

 

“It is a rather guarded secret among those with tai-yokai blood, though my own mate did not know until I told him but at that point he did not care since our children will be strong because of both of our lineage” she said with a shrug as she rubbed her belly.

 

“I assume I may trust you with the information, you seem familiar with the Shikon Miko and her daughter” she said

 

“yes Kagome is like a sister to me” said Sango

 

“yes, my pup speaks fondly of her” said the demoness

 

“Your pup knows kagome?” she asked

 

“Yes, it seems Rin, my pup, has encountered her on many occasions while on her travels with my mate, I believe she traveled with my brother in law for a time” she said with a smile

 

“Rin? Sesshomaru's ward…you….your mate is….” Started

 

“Sesshomaru” finished the demoness

 

“I carry his pup in my womb, the heir of the western lands” said the demoness sadly

 

“This pup will represent the reunification of the houses of the sun and moon, he is very important” she said rubbing her swollen belly

 

“Do they know that?” whispered Sango pointing toward the cave.

 

“I don't know” said the Hikarimi

 

“That human cub Sesshomaru carts around…. You're not her mother….how could a royal from the house of the sun even look at a human without killing it” chuckled Kouga

 

Sango looked on at the demoness intently as the female growled at Kouga

 

“What do you know wolf? Your kind kill and destroy human villages gorging yourselves on women in children” she said viciously

 

“Your pack killed my pup, if it hadn't been for my mate she would have been dead, a little pup who never hurt anyone in her life” said the demoness as tears streamed down her face

 

“I….I was raised by humans” said the demoness quietly as Sango looked at her in shock.

 

“I was young….My parents were in the northern lands negotiating with Ayame's grandfather when a group of demons from a rogue wolf clan attacked our envoy. They stole everything and kidnapped my brother and I in retaliation for the northern tribe shunning them. He…my brother managed to get away” she said the last part quietly pointing at the demon in Sango's lap.

 

“I was not so lucky….. I was a child of about the equivalent of four human years, the wolves were planning on giving me to their head general who liked children for reasons not stated though I am sure you can guess. I was terrified, I waited and learned their movements, I studied them carefully. I knew there was one guard in particular who was cocky and would fall asleep during his guarding duty, there was another who would get drunk and come and try and play with me as if I was one of his own pups, he had the keys to my chains.” Said the woman looking down at her hands

 

“It so happened that on one of the nights the guard who played with me came to me, the sleeping guard was to guard me so I took my chances and took the keys from my playmate. Then after he was gone and all were asleep I unlocked my chains and ran. I ran and Ran in the direction I thought I would find a yokai village but instead I found humans. The first human village I came to was brutal, the men all picked up their axes and weapons and came after me to kill me but I managed to change into my true form and get away. It was in my true form that a little girl found me, she was so kind to me, she fed me and gave me water” said the demoness with a smile on her face

 

“Matsuko, was her name, she would come to me every day and tend to me. I lived in the forest like a wild beast relying on her kindness. One day I was in this humanoid form, since It was hard for me to hold my true form for so long as a young pup, she was so astonished. She was not afraid, she'd named me Aiko while I was in true form, but I told her my true name and we became friends. She would bring me food and clothing and soon she grew into a woman, I was still a young child as we demons age much slower than humans. She soon married a village man and decided to take me in, her husband was hesitant at first but soon he became fond of me….like a father to me. I would go hunting with him and fishing and I would tend to the garden with Matsuko. It was wonderful, I later found out she was the headman's daughter so no one could bother her about harboring a demon child. I also found out that they would say horrible things about her in the markets when they thought she could not hear but she didn't care. I was hers as far as she was concerned, those were the best days of my life” she said fondly

 

“Soon Matsuko and Hinata, my segregate mother and father had children and they loved me like kin as well. I remained a child as my sisters and brothers married off and soon my parents grew old and died. I was still not even a teenager when my youngest sister had married the headman of a near by village. He had a hanyou half brother whom he cared deeply for so he agreed to take me in. My sister Hatsumi, was a wonderful woman and her husband Tetsukaro was a fair and dignified man, they too had children and I soon grew to adolescence and teenage hood. Soon my sister died and her youngest son Konohito, he little boy who saw me as a big sister took me in, we remained in that village, his wife Nayumi was a wonderful woman who could sew beautifully. I assisted Nayumi in making kimono for several royal humans and even some demons. Soon she had children as well and the youngest, a girl, was named Rin” said the woman as Sango's eye widened

 

“ I had barely transitioned from teen to woman when Rin was born, Rin's birth was hard on Nayumi, her body was broken and she developed an illness and could not walk. I helped by taking care of Rin as Nayumi worked on the kimono. Rin loved me like a mother, many times she would call me mother and I would have to correct her because I did not want Nayumi to feel hurt.” Said the demoness

 

“One day I was picking flowers with Rin, she was about four years old and she ran up to me and hugged me `mama I love you' she said softly as she kissed my cheek. I let her call me mama when we were alone , I hated to see her sad little eyes when she called me mama and I would have to tell her not to….I did not want her to think it was because I did not want her….I kissed her little cheek and put her down, thankfully her older brother Rei was there to take her inside the hut. I sensed them, oni monsters, one must have had a jewel shard because he was mad , I had never seen an oni as such. I used my sunfire whip to kill them off but the one with the jewel shard managed to carry me off. I fought with him for two days and finally killed him. I cursed myself for not honing my skills better, it took me two days to return to my home” she spoke softly and looked away

 

“When I returned …..when….I ….returned….there was….nothing left of my village, human bandits had come and decimated the whole village….I was it's protector …..I would always fight and defeat any demons or bandits when they threatened my village. I found their charred bodies in the hut, everyone was there …the boys…my precious boys, my baby brother Kono…Nayumi…all except for my little Rin….I caught her scent in the wind…she was not dead, she was hurt but not dead. I left them there, I did not even bury my family, I ran after the bandits set on taking back my little Rin, skinning them alive and torturing them for what they did to my village…my people” she said with tears rolling down her beautiful face

 

“ I tracked them down but they had split into two factions, the faction I followed unfortunately, did not have Rin with them. I slaughtered them mercilessly cutting them into pieces slowly with my claws, tying them to trees and cutting them so the animals and lower demons would feast on their bodies though they still had life” she said through gritted teeth

 

“The last one told me before he died that they were going to sell Rin as a slave…a concubine, and in a rage I killed him before he could even tell me where they were headed. I eventually tracked the other faction down but they were in battle with some demons. I managed to question one of the men before he was killed but he did not know the name of the village where Rin was sold. I looked for my little Rin for months and months and I finally found the village where she'd been kept like a beast in a one room shack. She was to be trained as a concubine for a near by lord, to be given to the filthy wretch on her twelfth birthday. They treated her like an animal, my little baby, feeding her scraps and making her stay alone in the cold hut. No one would question the headman, who was overseeing her training, it was sick” she said in a disgusted tone

 

“by the time I found that god forsaken village it had been annihilated by wolves, the beasts had eaten most of the villagers except a few men who hid in a cave , one of these men is the one who relayed the story to me. He told me Rin was dead and I mourned her…..I killed hundreds of bandits and wolves as I made my way to the far north, I had nothing left….I barely remembered where I came from but I figured out was time to return. I came upon some rogue wolf demons in my wanderings, one of them I recognized from the group who kidnapped me as a child. I tortured and killed the entire band of wolves after they told me who I was…. I was astonished to discover that I was a princess and that my eldest brother heard rumors of a golden inu goddess who was punishing men for their misdeeds and was looking for me. I went home and was given my place but I was depressed. I was mourning my human family and my precious little Rin” she said rubbing her belly, trying to find comfort in her pup

 

“I asked my brother for some men and decided I would come back to the main island and train as a warrior before returning home to be mated off. I was fighting a very powerful tiger yokai in the western province one night and he was getting the better hand but I managed to defeat him. I was separated from my men and agitated, I stopped by a stream to drink and I saw him. He was beautiful, a silver inu dressed in an impeccable white kimono while I was covered in blood. He said he had seen me fight and complimented me , apparently he had been unable to defeat that demon. He seemed arrogant at first and I decided to leave him to his own devices” she said nostalgically

 

“I had plenty of more beautiful demon males with the same annoying attitude in my own court. I did not need to come all way to the main island to find another one. I thanked him for his compliment and left without a second glance. I must have intrigued him because I caught his scent in the wind many times after that day. I was searching for my men and decided to bathe in a hot spring near a human village. I always felt more at home near humans. There were a few human women who came to the spring and became frightened by me but I explained to them that I meant them no harm. I asked them to bathe with me and I made fast friends with them, they were pleasant woman and I was happy to be around humans again. After our bath they asked me to come and stay in their village but I decided against it, instead I told them I would see them for another bath and they agreed. The next day I continued to look for my men, every once in a while catching the scent of the silver inu and every now and then I caught him watching me. I went back for my bath with my new friends but decided to go early and watch over them as they walked to the spring. When I arrived, the village was under siege of some very odd looking monkey oni, I believe they were in heat” said the woman

 

“I killed them all single handedly, I was a much better warrior then after training with my brothers…anyway I killed them and he villagers were grateful. When I was done I looked up and saw the silver Inu in a cliff, he left quickly after I caught his glance. I shrugged him off, I figured me was following me because he thought I was a threat to his lands. I bathed with my new friends again and told them I was sorry but I had to find my men and go home. They said the head man of the village was going to honor me by re-naming the village Hikarimi Hime Village and I was grateful” she said with a smile

 

“I soon wandered deeper into the west in search of my men. I was reclining on a wonderfully comfortable tree one night just gazing at the stars when the silver inu's scent invaded my nose. I became angry, I looked around and demanded that he show himself. I told him I was no threat and he laughed at me and came to sit with me. We sat in silence for a moment then I spoke to him. I never had a problem speaking to anyone, no matter who or what they were, I assume it comes from being raised as a village human” she said with a shrug

 

“In any case I spoke to him casually about many things. Since I was raised with the headman of the village when I was young I learned to read and write. I knew much history since one of my older adoptive brothers was a scholar with a powerful demon lord in the southeast, when he came to visit we would have long conversations about wonderful things such as demon and human politics , history and science” she said with a smile

 

“I spoke to Sesshomaru about many things, we even shared many jokes. I told him I was looking for some companions, I did not tell him who I was, especially after I learned his identity. He thought I was just a warrior woman from the northern isles. He began to come to me more and more and after a while I began to have feelings for him. I was scared he did not feel the same way but one night under the stars he kissed me and asked me if he could formally court me, we kissed many more times after that and fell in love. He confessed his love to me under the stars on full moon night and a few days later he asked me to be his mate. I knew I would have to come to his palace to be announced to his advisors, so I had to tell him who I really was. I thought he would be angry with me for not telling him to begin with but he was not, he was happy because it meant that no demoness from his court would challenge me and the advisors would be ecstatic and approve me as the lady of the west. He told me he had someone for me to meet and that he was sorry he did not tell me about her sooner. I was a bit apprehensive about who “SHE” was but then he brought me my little Rin…..when I saw her I began to cry as I clutched her to me….. my little pup, she too remembered me….she called me mama and kissed all over my face. Sesshomaru was shocked, I was shocked when Rin told him our story, she filled in some gaps for me as I did not know fully what happened to her after the wolves killed her. She told me she saw Sesshomaru injured in the woods and he reminded her of me, that was why she was not afraid. She'd been wishing for me to come and save her for so long and when the opportunity presented itself she followed Sesshomaru because she secretly hoped that one day she would find me through him. She clung to me after that and I to her, I never wanted to lose my pup again and I was so happy for the first time in a long time” said as tears trailed down her cheeks.

 

“I was taken to the western palace, the concubines were released and sent away. I was approved of by the entire court and advisors, my brother came with his envoy. Apparently my men had gone home like cowards to get more aid, anyway my brother blessed the union and we mated. My mate is to formally announce me to the lords of the other lands in three moon cycles as is the customary in our culture” she said

 

“He had concubines?” asked Sango

 

“Hahaha, yes, it is customary for unmated lords to have concubines, he is much older than I and he had decided he was not going to take a mate before he met me, as he'd tired of the title hungry social climbers in his court. He'd also apparently tired of his concubines as they were also trying to secure status as his mate, one of the maids told me he had not even lain with a concubine for one hundred and forty years, he used them mainly to entertain unmated, visiting lords. I am just glad they are gone, he is mine now and I do not share” said the demoness with a playful snarl

 

“My brother is healing now, thank you for saving him” said the inu woman motioning to the male in Sango's lap

 

“He will appreciate it” she said softly as she caressed her brother's face. Sango was a bit uneasy as she didn't know if the demon would remember is declaration that she was his, part of her wanted him to while another part of her would be happy if he forgot.

 

“Now to get us the hell out of here” said the demoness examining the bars

 

“They are draining our jaki, I can feel it and the more jaki we use the harder they will drain” she said looking up and then down at the bars.

 

“We will have to rely on brute strength, though even that requires Jaki from us demons” she said

 

“The wolf is the only one who is immune, and you Sango” she said softly as she thought about how to get out.

 

“These bars are made with dark magic….miko magic, it is old though, these were likely constructed long ago by a dark miko who is already dead” she said examining the metal.

 

“If only we had a miko….” She said

 

“What about Kagura” said Sango

 

“her miko-ki is strong….but only when she's really angry or I'm assuming it would be good if she were happy” said Sango

 

“hn, it is dangerous to release her miko-ki because she is untrained and capable of strong purification” she said

 

Sango and Hikarimi both looked on at the elemental demoness in the arms of the wolf demon who was currently purring hard and nuzzling her shoulder sniffing her hard.

 

“He likes her” said Hikarimi with a giggle

 

“they…they hate each other” said Sango in an odd tone

 

“I think not, look at the way she bares her neck and the way he nuzzles her and clutches her body tightly, he is acting like a mate” she said

 

“Woah, this is very odd, it would be funny if either of them were to wake up right now” she said with a light chuckle.

 

And then as if on cue Kouga stirred.

 

“hmmmmm, delicious” he murmured as he licked the junction of Kagura's neck and shoulder before he fully woke with a huff and a snarl. He wiped the sleep from his eyes and shifted Kagura so she was in a more comfortable position , he looked down at her face and traced her bottom lip with his thumb

 

Suddenly as if realizing what he was doing he looked up at a wide eyed sango and Hikarimi who looked as though she were going to laugh.

 

“Can I put this bitch down now, her stink is making me wanna puke my guts out” he snarled

 

“Her heart beat is normal and she is breathing just fine” said Hikariki

 

Kouga quickly pulled away form Kagura who whimpered in her sleep, it took all of his will not to go back and scoop her up again.

 

He sat down and turned away form her trying to figure out how the hell the wind bitch had been able to get to him so badly.

 

`she smells so damned good I have a boner the size of a fucking tree branch' he thought as he tried to think of anything that would deflate his manhood.

 

“tell me wolf how has Ayame acquired such a cage and why is she keeping us here?” asked Hikariami

 

`there we go, think of Ayame' he thought with a grin as he could feel the blood leaving his erection.

 

“Alright I'll tell you what I know” he said looking down

 

“It all started a couple years back when Ayame first came looking for me to be her mate. There was a misunderstanding a while back…” he began while Sango glared at her

 

“You told her you would be her mate some day you insensitive jerk” said Sango

 

“HEY! I WAS JUST TRYING TO MAKE THE BRAT STOP CRYIN!...now do ya wanna know what happened or not?” he said defensively

 

“hmp, go on” huffed Sango

 

“Anyway, she really wanted to be my mate, and not because of that stupid promise, I know that if she found someone more politically suited to her she'd mate them and forget about my stupid promise. She was after the mating because her grandfather wanted to unite the two wolf clans, we had been separated for centuries and they figured uniting the wolf tribes would make us stronger, it's a fucking load of crap, we're doomed because we don't have any tai-yokai blood in our royal lines. It's only a matter of time before we're wiped out completely” said Kouga with a huff

 

“Anyway the bitch became obsessed with me and then I told her I loved Kagome and that Kagome wasn't weak because she could see Shikon shards” he said with a roll of the eyes

 

“I thought I was rid of her until one day she came to me again, she'd changed I could see the malice in her eyes, she told me I was needed at the northern den because her grandfather died and she was to cooronated, she said if I didn't mate with her she would kill our entire clan, she said she would wipe us out if we didn't join the northern clan” he said

 

“She was crazy, her brother stood by her, her clan stood by her as well. She'd managed to convince them that we were traitors who though we were too good to join with the northeasterners, she was crazy. Ginta and Hakaku told me that one of the men closest to her grandfather told them that she'd become obsessed with the Shikon jewel after she'd left me last. They said she'd tried to seek out dark mikos and old demons who could help her see shards. They said she'd gone in search of some witch who was rumored to have helped Naraku. She was gone for months and one day she returned saying the witch denied to teach her, and that Naraku was going to pay and I was going to pay and Kagome was going to pay and even Inuyasha was going to pay, she was crazy” said Kouga

 

“So she became consumed by the jewel without even possessing it” said Sango in hushed tone eyeing the disinterested guards who were too busy talking to each other to notice her or her words.

 

“The jewel will do that, is a very powerful vessel of magic belonging to a very powerful being. Kagome's soul is that of a god….all Shikon mikos are gifted with an immortal soul, that is how their lives are so long” said the demoness

 

“That is why Kagome doesn't not smell of humanity” said Kouga as if thinking to himself

 

“I mean she doesn't smell like a demon but she doesn't smell like a human either, she just smells really good” he said

 

Hikarimi chuckled “yes the Shikon Miko often smells irresistible to demons, my mate even admitted to having a few sexual fantasies about the Miko brought on by her scent, though he told me he would never lower himself to touching a bitch of his brothers” she half laughed.

 

“Many have fallen victim to the jewel's power, because it is not meant for use except by kagome , the power is hers alone, then it is shared with her mate” said the demoness

 

“ Naraku , would not have been so evil and conniving if not crazed by the jewel. I believe he was overpowered by the need for the jewel because his soul is somehow bound to it, much like Kagome except her purity keeps her safe…..Ayame though not bound to it by soul let the grief of rejection and jealousy corrupt her” said Hikarimi

 

“He killed my village…Naraku did” said Sango somberly

 

Hikarimi just nodded, I know how you feel….. bandits killed my family, I killed hundreds of men in retribution….many of them were not even violent bandits but I tortured and killed them in my quest for vengeance, nothing would quench my thirst for blood and soon I was worse than the men who killed my family, forgiveness is the key to letting go and ending the cycle of death and destruction” said Hikarimi as Sango just nodded.

 

“He killed my daughter, though she was thankfully revived, His pack killed my baby…my pup” she said softly pointing at Kouga

 

“I killed them….” Said a voice from the floor as Kagura weakly sat up.

 

“I killed all those wolves, fathers, sons….mates….he..Naraku ordered me to kill them but I ultimately chose to obey, and it brought me great pleasure at the time” she said looking down as tears welled in her eyes.

 

“I…I deserve what they did to me…” she added looking at her hands

 

“I don't know how my mother can even look at me after the things I have done” she said letting the tears fall from her eyes as everyone watched her silently

 

 

“She knows what I am yet she looks at me with suck love and adoration in her eyes. I can't help but love her back and find comfort in her arms and touch” said Kagura with a smile before she looked down and the smile faded

 

“I have killed thousands of men in my quest for vengeance, and many times it too brought me pleasure, I have killed…sons, fathers and mates as well, but it is the way of things….we are demons and we will undoubtedly derive pleasure from killing…..but what sets us apart from other demons is our ability to feel remorse for the things we have done wrong and seek forgiveness, knowing we will never repeat our misdeeds” said the demoness nodding to Kagura as Kouga looked away

 

“I'm sorry kouga….I'm sorry I hurt you and killed your men” she said in a tone of voice that made her so much Kagome's daughter Sango wanted to hug her and she did.

 

Kagura was taken a back when the demon slayer hugged her but she hugged the woman back letting the tears fall. “Why?” she choked out as sango smiled at her.

 

“Thank you for protecting Kohaku while you could, thank you for helping us when we needed and thank you for not killing Miroku and I at Mount Hakurei, I know you held back…..you pushed us back out of the barrier on purpose Miroku figured it out later” said Sango as Kagura just nodded

 

“You didn't deserve it” said a gruff voice as both women looked up

 

“what?” asked Kagura

 

“You didn't deserve what they did to you, no one could ever deserve that” said Kouga softly

 

“And I know you didn't kill me, that day you took my jewel shards from my legs the first time, even though you could have.” He said looking down at his hands

 

“I…I forgive you” he said softly looking away

 

“See demon slayer , forgiveness is the key to true justice” said Hikarimi

 

“I forgive him for it because if I do not, it is not he would suffer but me and my Rin would never want me to suffer, especially on her behalf” she said pointing to Kouga who just nodded in thanks while he tried not to look at Kagura because his need to comfort her was growing with every tear she shed.

 

“Do you think your family would want you to suffer trying to find vengeance at any cost?” asked the Hikarimi and Sango thought for a moment and shook her head “no”

 

“ I..” she began when suddenly there was a huge spike of Jaki and Kagura began to writhe on the floor in pain while Sango was thrown back by an unseen force.

 

Kagura was screaming in agony as Kouga tried to go to her but was pushed back by a strong barrier.

 

She coughed and clutched her stomach coughing and spiting as her claws grew sharper and her face burned as markings appeared on her cheeks. What looked like pink arrows with wind swishes appeared on her cheeks , in an iridescent pink hue along with the same stump less Christmas tree design Naraku bore on his forehead on her own forehead. She also had light blue feathers marking her wrists

 

She breathed in hard curing into a ball as she finished her transformation.

Hikarimi looked on in shock as Kagura struggled to get up. Her aura was so strong it was almost uncomfortable to be around; she had strong miko-ki as well. This was something she knew to be present only in True tai-yokai born directly from the Shikon miko. The power would breed out over the generations, none of the tai-yokai left had spiritual powers left. Kagome was the first of the new generation of tai-yokai.

 

“She is Tai-Yokai” breathed Hikarimi as the others looked on in awe as Kagura got up and sat down against the bars. She look up at the sky , she let out a breath and smiled as she saw one lone star in the sky…..

 

“my… what a beautiful star” she said softly in her distraught state as the others looked up and took in the sight of the brightest star…..it gave them hope that more would come.
