Summary: [AU] [INUKAG] [MIRSAN] This is “An Unexpected Love” re-written. A whole new plot, a whole new battle, a whole new story... Higurashi Kagome just moved to a new school, and unfortunately for her things may not go well. A hanyou, by the name of Takahashi InuYasha, sees her as his ex lover and vows to kill her. A youkai, by the name of Kouga, claims her as his woman... And what of this clueless ningen who can’t just take the hint she’s not interested in him? What will happen when something terrible comes out of the darkness that the walls of Yokoushima Haisuku-Ru absorbed...? And what’s with the head principal, Miss Kaede, telling InuYasha and Kagome that this is their destiny as well as two other teens, Chikan Miroku and Danko Sango, and a young kitsune, Oshii Shippou. What will happen when they’re powers reveal themselves and collide? And what’s with Kikyou coming back and telling InuYasha that this was all fate and that she did what she had to do? A raven haired beauty inhaled and exhaled deeply as she stood before her new haisuku-ru... She glanced down at her sailor-fuku and then back to the haisuku-ru. “Do I really have to do... this?” she reluctantly asked herself. “Keh... You don’t have to... But seeing as you’re a weak ningen... You’ll still do it.” came a gruff reply. The gray eyed girl whirled around as her hair flew about her. “I am not weak!” she yelled, her eyes locking with his liquid amber ones. She looked at him curiously as she took in the silver hair, amber gold eyes, and two furry appendages atop this head. Suddenly he bared his teeth and a threatening snarl rumbled from his chest.

“You! How dare you come back here! I’ll show you who is pathetic!” he growled as he went in for the kill. The woman shrieked and stepped aside. “I didn’t do anything to you!” she screamed. “Don’t play dumb with me, bitch!” the hanyou yelled. “I don’t even know you!” the bishoujou once again yelled as she side stepped him once more. “The fuck you don’t, Kikyou!” the beast exclaimed as he once again went to lunge at the trembling teenager. “I’m not Kikyou! I’m Kagome!” she yelled. Gee... What a way to introduce myself... “Ha! I’m not as stupid as I was back then... wench...” he said in a low menacing growl. “I’m not a wench! And I’m certainly not Kikyou! I’m Kagome! Ka-Go-Me! Higurashi Kagome!” the girl frantically screamed.

The man came dangerously close to her face when he backed her up against the school wall. “If you’re lying to me... I’ll kill you...” he smirked. The man seemed to study her up and down and she had the insane urge to slap him. Kagome brought her hand up towards his face and a hard slapping sound rang through the trees. His eyes widened. “You’re... not... her...” he said, a stunned expression creeping onto his face. Kagome glared at him. “Of course not, you baka! I’ve been trying to tell you that!” she hissed. “Stay outta my way, wench... If you know what’s good for you...” the hanyou growled before sauntering away.

First day of school and I was almost killed! Shaking, Kagome picked up her forgotten yellow backpack and hurried inside the school, almost as if she were seeking sanctuary. The bell for home room to begin rang and her eyes widened. Great! I’m late... I can imagine that conversation. “Higurashi Kagome, why are you late...” “Oh it’s nothing really... I was just almost mauled... And my throat was looking pretty tasty too... Sorry... I’ll tell him I’ll be late next time...” She hurried off to Home Room 221. Gah! It just had to be on the second floor... Kami really hates me today...
She entered the room once she found it and found to her dismay that it was a mix of sophomores, juniors, and seniors. To her horror there was the one who tried to kill her, with the only empty seat beside him. Oh no... She inwardly groaned as she made her way over to the sensei. “Uh... Konnichi wa...” she meekly stated. The teacher, an old flea youkai, looked over at her and his face brightened with a smile. “Ah, Higurashi Kagome... I’ve been expec... Uh... I mean kangei to Yokoushima. I am Mr. Nomi Myouga.” he replied in an aged, but warm voice. I wonder what he was going to say... Normally, she would have pressed him but considering he was a sensei and she was already late, she decided not to. Plus, she had a way bigger threat on her hands... A death threat to be more exact.

“Takahashi InuYasha... Raise your hand.” Mr. Nomi demanded. “Keh... I don’t want no weak ningen beside me...” he snorted. At once she knew who it was. “For the last time! I am not weak!” Kagome told him, malicious intent dripping off her words. The sensei raised an eyebrow. He looked back at the hanyou. Oh, InuYasha... She is not weak... That I assure you of... he thought to himself. “I’m sure that, by now Miss Higurashi, you know who Takahashi InuYasha is... Just take the seat beside him.” he offered and she reluctantly nodded. Kami... This is so unfair...

Kagome took her seat beside InuYasha, trying to avoid looking into his glaring eyes. She put her head onto her desk. “Oh, gomen na sai, Miss Higurashi... You forgot to introduce yourself to the class, seeing as you are a new student... Please include on why you are here as well.” the sensei asked. She let a groan escape her lips as she returned to the front of the room. “My... name is Higurashi Kagome... I come from Tokyo... But am in Kyoto because I was sent to this haisuku-ru... I am a miko... That is why I am here...” she mumbled, hurriedly sitting down before the sensei could ask any more questions.

“Psst... Higurashi...” came a whisper from beside her. She looked over to see a ningen, like herself, but only he had brown hair and brown eyes. “I’m Okkuu Houjou...” he smiled. She returned his smile. “Konnichi wa...” she replied. A low, but harmless growl could be heard from InuYasha. She rolled her eyes. Jerk.. Can’t he just get over earlier... A dark haired ookami youkai strolled up to her desk. “Oi, Kagome...” he said. She looked up at him and met his dark blue eyes. “The name’s Kouga... Ookami Kouga... And I claim you my woman...” he said with a smirk.

Kagome stood up and met him. “I’m not your woman!” she told him. Another low growl could be heard from InuYasha. What is his problem!? She asked herself. “I say you are... So you are...” Kouga told her, confusion on his face. “I’m... not... your... woman...” she said very slowly, her fists shaking at her side. Her hand connected with his face and he looked stunned. The bell for first period rang and she thanked the Kami’s above. She rushed out of the room and tripped over her own feet. She shrieked but stopped short when a strong arm caught her. She looked into the amber orbs of the savior.

“A-Arigatou...” she muttered. “Feh, don’t thank me... I just didn’t want the smell of blood everywhere...” he replied. He took his hand off of her waist and walked away, muttering what sounded like, “Pathetic ningens...” Kagome rolled her eyes. “Jerk...” she breathed.
