Chapter six

 

Normal POV:

 

Monday morning, Ten minutes until nine you see various people coming into the meeting room waiting to see the new addition to the team. Kagome felt stares in her direction as she went to her seat next to Miroku and Sango. `I'm Miroku's assistant, why are they staring at me.' She thought.

 

“Something is different about you today Kagome. Do you have a new perfume on or something?” Asked a Wolfe-youkai named Ayame. Kagome shook her head and kept walking to her seat.

 

`Good morning Kagome-chan' Sango said smiling. Miroku looked too occupied to say anything at the time. He was occupied with his planner. Various mummers are muttering wondering why the secrecy, when the president walked in, or rather hopped in

 

Myogua Takahashi is a flea Youkai, so you really can't see him. You can hear him since he has a loud mouth. The only time you do see him is when he just finished eating. And since you know he's a flea, you really don't want to know what his meals consist of. Kagome and other humans who never met him looked at the chair where they guessed he was sitting in with interest.

 

“Before we start this meeting I would like to thank all of you for the success of Takahashi Corp.” He began enthusiastically. “As I looked on to the numbers I saw fit to encourage promotions internally and You all have done an extremely wonderful job. And since time is money, and I have a plane to catch I will cut to the chase. I will be in contact with this branch only by telephone conference. The reason is I would not be here since I will be installing a vice-president to this office. The young man that I would like to take control of this branch is a hard worker, like a son to me. He has a good eye for what's good. And In the publishing industry he is not a newby, in fact many of you know him. So without further delay I would like to introduce your new Vice president Inuyasha West.”

 

Just in the man in question walked in. There were several gasps when some recognized who he was. Everyone stood up clapping, all but one woman. `Oh my god! This can't be happening' Kagome thought. She was numb and all the blood drained to her feet. Everyone sat down, but Kagome had a difficult time sitting down. Sango and Miroku grabbed her and sat her down.

 

That action didn't go unnoticed by the new Vice president, but without any hesitation he said. “Thank you everyone, Sorry that Myogua was so dramatic about me coming to the company. I hope that I can help this company. I look forward to working with each and every one of you. Thank you.” With that Inuyasha sat down and waited for Myogua to continue.

 

After the meeting all the department heads went over to meet the New VP, while a certain assistant of an editor was trying to make fast getaway. She made it to her office and put her head on the table.

 

`I can't even begin to think at this point. I thought I'd never see him again. Now what do I do. What are the chances that he didn't see me? I am Just Miroku's assistant, a junior editor. I mean he doesn't even have to see me ever right?'

 

She lifted her head up and looked at her daily planner. She saw in 10 minutes she would be seeing Kouga for his weekly updates on his project. She turned to her cabinet and pulled out his file. As she grabbed his file she heard a knock at the door. When responding without looking, two men came in the office and closed her door. Kagome turned around and dropped her file when she saw whom it was. Miroku and Inuyasha

 

`Ok act normal girl, this is the first time meeting him.' She coaxed herself.

 

“Kagome is my best assistant. She is so good that I even gave her a book to edit on her own. I trust her work and she has great taste.” Miroku started, while Inuyasha reached for her hand for a firm shake. When she shook it back, both men looked down at the floor at the forgotten file with new interest.

 

“At least normally she does, Kagome are you all right? You just dropped Kouga's file.” Miroku looked at his assistant with confusion and then bent down to help her with the papers scattered on the floor.

 

Realizing that she made a blunder she bent down and help her supervisor. When the papers were organized, She sat down calmly and offered them both a seat.

 

`Just breathe girl, maybe he didn't recognize you.' She hoped but as she looked over to him, her hopes went crashing down.

 

“By the way how was the Ball, I got sick over the weekend, so Sango and myself didn't get to make it. I hoped you did though.” He continued hoping it would ease her tension, but all it did was made it worse.

 

“Yeah I did. It was nice.” Kagome managed to say but that went on unnoticed when her phone line beeped. Silently thanking who ever in making this diversion she picked up and answered it. But it down she looked over at Miroku and told him that he was needed. Both men got up at once then Miroku said.

 

“Kouga Wolfe is going to be hear shortly, why not sit in and listen to the consultation. See how Kagome works her magic.” Miroku said with a sense of pride.

”I'd be delighted to see what she can do.” Inuyasha said. Miroku nodded and left the two of them, not without shutting the door.

 

He waited a few seconds before turning to her. “Do I at least get an explanation?”

 

Kagome Gulped and looked up to him `breathe, Kagome you got this.' She said to herself
