Fallen Misery: Prologue
Vampire Blood
She roamed the streets looking for easy prey. Many beggars but they never satisfied her. She was wearing black pants and a black short sleeved shirt. Her golden-blonde hair flowed straight to her mid-back, her fierce blue eyes were stunning and powerful, and her voice as soft as cream could be a deadly weapon to manipulate. She carried a gun under her right pant leg; just incase she fell into some danger that required putting bullets into the minds of others. Blood was what she happened to be desiring tonight. Fresh blood.
She spotted a young man about the age of 20, coming towards her. He looked up at her as she ran towards him at an amazing speed. She was a blur when she swept him off his feet and into an abandoned ally. He lay trembling before her begging for his life.
"Please, just take m-my wallet and le-leave me alone." He moved to grab his wallet but she quickly jumped on top of him and pinned him down so he could not squirm. A moment later his screams rang out through the night like whistles in an empty desert. Then the silence came once again, after two gunshots were fired.
She looked back at him from her place on the roof of a nearby building. Wiping her mouth clean of blood, she jumped to the next roof almost 20 feet away. Police sirens could be heard emanating from the spot she left her young friend. They would of course find him dead with two bullets in him; one in his brain and one in his chest. She hurried away from the scene and went in the direction of her small cabin in the mountains.
Miscalculating the distance she fell in the lake just a couple feet from her home. . . .again.
"Crap! That's the third time I've landed in here…" Frustrated she waded out of the water and up to the shore. Walking through a cluster of trees she arrives at the back door to her cabin. Stumbling inside she turns on the lights and walks over to the kitchen for a cup of coffee.
"Hello Jenai. I've been waiting for you." A dark shadow emerged from behind her, quickly snaking an arm around her throat to easily choke her. She dropped the coffee cup and heard it break at her feet.
"So, Sesshomaru. You found me after all." She felt him smirk against her hair. She doesn't know how she'll get out of his grasp this time, seeing that he has the advantage at the moment. `This is just what I need right now, some evil demon trying to steal my blood once again' "What do you want?" She asked him trying to stall for time to create an escape plan.
"You already know what I want. If you don't struggle then I will kill you quickly and drain you of your blood then, but if you choose to die slowly and in pain then we can play a little game of cat and mouse." He said trying to play with her mind.
"Wouldn't it be more like a game of cat and dog?" With that question she flipped him over her back onto the kitchen counter. Jumping to her left she grabbed a butcher knife and spun on one foot, kicking him in the stomach and knocking him down once more. She wanted to make sure he was unconscious so she hit him over the head with a glass-measuring cup. Before her he went limp onto the ground. She peered down at him from her stance above him. She hesitated. `Why hasn't he given up on trying to get my blood yet?' She pondered this for a moment, not noticing that Sesshomaru had begun to recover from being beaten over the head. He quickly surveyed his position and swung his foot out tripping Jenai. She watched as the knife in her hand flew through the air and landed 2 inches from her forehead before she passed out. Sesshomaru stood and brushed himself off.
"I gave her easy options but she had to try and work around them." He muttered to himself while gathering Jenai in his arms and carrying her to his domain.
I know its probably kind of confusing right now...but just bear with me for now. The second chapter should help clear up some things. And your probably getting tired of hearing this but I'm gonna tell you again anyway. PLEASE REVIEW! Thanx ~Julie
