Yoroshii minna-san, (trans: ok everyone) it's time for a recap! Sango's attempt to kill Miroku obviously failed and she's now been accepted into the group...although it took Inuyasha a bit to get used to the idea. The group was stunned by Sango's conviction when she demonstrated her resolve to kill Naraku. From where does she get the fervor in her eyes which spell of her ongoing battle? Her mysterious ways leave the rest of the group in wonder...what more of her will be revealed? Will she allow them to see?

Miroku found Sango kneeling by the river. Clearing his throat he knelt beside her calmly. "I must say, Sango, you are very unique. You want to defeat Naraku as much as I do and I believe I have a solution." There was then a twinkle in his eye, but his face remained solemn. "Would you bear--"

He then stopped when he saw she wasn't listening to him. Her head was lowered, eyes fixed on the dish that was lowered into the cool water. Miroku beant down to look at her face and saw her eyes look so empty. They seemed to have no soul as they looked back on a dark past.

"Lady Sango? Are you ill?"

Sango made no reply, for she didn't even hear him. She was searching the far corners of her mind to a memory and dream she knew only too well. The fire, the screams, the helplessness followed by the need for revenge. It was all flooding back into her mind, seeking to drown her, when a light touch on her shoulder brought her back. She spun around, drawing out one of her daggers and proceeded to jab it into the throat of her attacker. When she saw who it was she managed to stop herself, just before the blade touched Miroku's skin.

Miroku sat still with his hands raised. "Forgive me. I had no intention of startling you."

Sango blinked a few times before returning her weapon to its place and relaxed. "It's fine."

"Just curious...but I hope you don't mind me asking these questions." He looked at her but she gave no reply as she continued to wash her dish. "How long have you been a demon slayer?"

"I was trained at a very young age."

"By whom?"

"My father."

"Where is he?"

Sango paused for a moment, bringing her dish up from the water. She starred at herself in the reflection of the river before tracing the water's surface with her fingers. "He's...not of this world."

"Oh, I'm so sorry." Miroku paused for a moment, giving her a moment of silence. To speak of such things was dangerous, the feelings felt for a loved one is indeed fragile. Any wrong coment made from then on could cause her to shut him out completely. "Why...why do you fight? To protect the peace of the people I suspect?"

"No...I fight for myself."

Miroku didn't expect that sort of answer and was puzzled to what she meant by it. She was different, made him feel different. Not like any feeling he felt before in his life about another woman. Sure he had his faults, but he was but a man. He noticed for the first time in that period of silence her looking at the blue beads that wrapped around his hand.

"Very religious are you?"

"Yes, but these have a greater purpose."

"Such as?"

"It's my curse, and the reason why I must defeat Naraku. My grandfather was cursed by him and was passed down to my father and passed down to me. There is a hole in my hand that when released sucks in all the surrounding area; a wind tunnel if you will. As time passes, and each time I use my wind tunnel, a little more of me dissapears within the void." Miroku looked into her wide eyes that were filled with confusion and bewielderment. "I'm dying," he said simply, "I don't have much longer to live. The only way to be rid of this curse is to defeat Naraku."

"But what if...you...Naraku isn't defeated?"

"The only way to keep the famliy line going is to produce an heir. Lady Sango!" he exclaimed clasping her hands. "I feel a strong desire in you to kill Naraku like I do. We can do this if you would bear my child!"

Sango was speechless. Here was this monk whom she had just met and he was already asking for a child from her! She was in a state of confusion and didn't realize that Miroku had pulled her into an embrace. She eventually came back to her senses when she felt his light touch on her bottom.

"Dream on pervert!" She picked up the dish and smacked him in the face with it and then threw him in the river. "If all monks are like you then there is no hope for people who put their faith in religion!"

Sango left him there and returned to the others. While all this was going on.....

"What do you think of Sango, Inuyasha?" asked Kagome.

"She's okay considering the fact she tried to kill me, but hey that's life."

"I like her!" exclaimed Shippou. "She hits Miroku!"

"Yea, that's a bonus."

"Seriously you guys!" said Kagome. "You hear the way she talked about Naraku? How she's so determined to kill him?"

"Yeah, and I don't blame her!" Inuyasha retorted.

"But the question is why? And how does she know him?"

"Who cares as long as we got another one for our side who happens to be a demon slayer."

"How do you know if she isn't gonna kill you in your sleep?" asked Shippou slyly.

"How do you know that won't happen to you, Shippou? That Kirara might get hungry and want a midnight snack?"

"Cuz one: I'm cute! And two: I'm gonna sleep with Kagome!" The young kitsune stuck out his tounge while Inuyasha growled.

"Knock it off you two this is serious!" Kagome demanded.

They then heard a scream and the sound of something splashing in the river. Moments later Sango returned looking calm, but with an angry flush in her cheeks.

"Where's Miroku?" Inuyasha asked.

"In the river," she stated calmly.

"Uh-oh," said Shippou. "What did he do now?"

"Oh!!! That monk has no morals at all! He asked me to bear his child!"

"Oh boy," Kagome said with a sweatdrop.

Miroku was now rejoining the group. "I have morals...they may be questionable but...still some morals."

"Feh," Inuyasha mumbled while rolling his eyes.

"What's that?" Shippou asked pointing.

Something was moving under Miroku's soaking robes and was moving in a very odd and...freaky place.

"EWWWW!!!" exclaimed Kagome and Sango.

"Really Miroku, control yourself!" Inuyasha scolded.

"Shut up!" he said trying to hide the movement. Miroku then found the source of the awkwardness. "A fish...certainly not one of mine."

"EWWWW!!!" Sango and Kagome exclaimed once more, backing away.

"Oh for crying out loud!" Inuyasha said exasperatedly.

"Here's our lunch," Miroku declared.

"No way I'm even touching that now that it's been in...there."

"I think I'm going to be sick," Sango moaned.

"I like fish," Shippou said cheerfully.

Kagome just patted the young kitsune's head and nodded, wishing for his innocense while the Inuyasha and Sango shook their heads.
