Sangos Confession
Sango worked quietly, rubbing away the blood of the demon she'd killed just moments before. InuYasha sat beside her similarly cleaning his sword. As she reached down beside her thigh to grab the rag that was lying there her hand came into contact with that of her companion's. Startled she looked up, a light blush gracing her cheeks, as her brown eyes met gold.
InuYasha was a bit startled at what had been becoming more and more obvious in Sangos eyes these days when she looked at him. Kagome has always said Sango was in love with Miroku. But Kagome was in her time, and Miroku had gone to visit Mushin. It was just the two if them, for the first time. And even someone as dense as InuYasha could see the difference in the way Sango was acting around him.
“Is there something you want to say to me?” said InuYasha bluntly.
“Oh, ah…um,” said Sango, startled, and blushed a deeper red as she looked away.
“Come on Sango, spit it out,” said InuYasha, crossing his arms. “We're friends, right?”
Sango sighed, hiding her face from him with her hand as she stared down at her lap. How could she tell InuYasha what she was feeling without him being embarrassed or misconstruing her words? Well, he was staring at her in a determined manner, so obviously she had to say something. Maybe something close to the truth would work.
“Do you believe that a person can love more than one person at a time?” said Sango softly, not looking at him.
“I…uh,” InuYasha stammered in surprise.
Sango was asking him this? In his minds eyes he saw Kikyo and Kagome, and he flushed, turning his face away. Obviously, he knew that you could care deeply for two people at the same time. He sighed and turned back to Sango.
“Yeah, I guess I do,” said InuYasha.
“Then…you understand,” said Sango. “But you also know, I would never do anything to hurt Kagome, so please don't say anything.”
“Uh, sure,” said InuYasha uncertainly.
All of the things Sango was saying and implying were spinning in confusion in InuYashas head. Better to just make her think he knew what she talking about and let it go.
“Thank you, InuYasha,” said Sango and smiled warmly at him.
“You're welcome,” said InuYasha.
Kami, but he would never understand women.
