A whole group of students, teachers and parents sat in seats at the Higher Grounds cemetery. The minister stood at the podium preaching as a casket laid in front. "Enough of me talking. Let's have someone come up here that was close to Inuyasha,Kagome Higurashi." The minister walked calmly off stage. Kagome walked up to the podium in a black dress that stopped at her ankles. "Um...Inuyasha was the first boy that I loved and the first boy that loved me." Kagome paused and tears rolled down her eyes. "I can't do this" said Kagome and started to ball on stage. Her mother came up to her and embraced her and led her off the stage. The minister returned to the podium. "Okay, since Kagome is unable to speak at this time let's have Sango and Miroku come up and say a few words" He motioned Sango and Miroku up the stage. They walked up there hand in hand a began to speak. Meanwhile Kagome was crying her eyes out into her mothers arms as they sat in their car in the parking lot. "I know sweetie. I know it hurts like hell. When you're father died I thought I wasn't gonna be able to live." Kagome's mother began to pet and rub the top of her daughters head
"But I love him so much. And I can't stand to see him there in that casket." Kagome looked up at her mother. " I think you have had enough for today.Want me to take you home, sweetheart" Kagome wiped her tears and nodded. Ms.Higurashi and Kagome drove home silently not one of them brave enough to say something to the other. When they arrived home Kagome ran upstairs to her room and shut the door. Mrs.Higurashi stood there and watched her daughter run up the stairs and sighed. "Poor Kagome losing love so young" Mrs.Higurashi walked to the kitchen and began on dinner.
Souta opened Kagome's door. "Dinner's ready,Kagome" She was sprawled out on her pink laced bed with her face buried in her pink laced pillow. "I'm not hungry" Kagome said as she turned her head so that it faced the window. "Are you okay"said Souta in a sad voice because he hated to see her sister cry though he'd never admit it. " Just leave me alone Souta." said Kagome sitting up on her bed with her head hung down. "Okay."said Souta closing her door. Kagome hated to be that way with her little brother because he was a good kid. Kagome got up and walked over to her dresser and picked up a necklace that seemed to look like prayer beads. She rubbed it in her hands. "I love you Inuyasha and I always will."
Ten years after that day in the rural town of Okayama a 27 year old Kagome walked inside a big beautiful french normandy style house(more like a castle) "Ken'ichi I'm home!'' yelled Kagome hearing her echo. A ten year old boy with long silver hair and grayish-blue eyes ran downstairs and embraced his mom. "Don't hurt the baby.'' Kagome said rubbing her enlarged stomach. "Sorry." "Where's your father?'' Ken'ichi pouted. "He's upstairs and he's not my father." Kagome kissed her son on the cheek. "I'm sorry sweetie. Honey, I'm home." Then a tall muscular guy with long black hair and piercing blue eyes came downstairs and gave Kagome a lovesome kiss. "Hey, honey." "Hey, how have my two favorite boys been doing" "We were doing just great. Isn't that right Ken." Kouga rubbed the stop of Ken'ichi's head. "My name is Ken'ichi and don't touch me." "Ken'ichi!'' He held his head down. "Sorry, mom'' ''Just go get dressed" "For what! Where are we going?'' ''To Kyoto and visit your father's grave." Ken'ichi cheered up. "Really?! Can we stay at grandma's house." "Yes, we can stay at grandma's" Ken'ichi eyes grew wide with excitement and ran upstairs. "You're going to Kyoto to visit InuYasha's grave." "Yeah, I haven't been in awhile. You understand don't you?'' Kouga kissed Kagome on her forehead. "Of course I understand. Give your mother my love, okay." "I will." Kagome leaned in and gave Kouga a kiss. Ken'ichi came downstairs with a traveling bag. "I packed you an outfit and your toothbrush." "Well, thank you. You're my cute little helper." Kagome bent down and pinched his cheeks. "Mom?'' Ken'ichi blushed. Kagome smiled and grabbed her keys. "Okay, let's go. Bye sweetheart." Kagome kissed him and left out the door. "Bye little Ken'ichi" "Feh'' Ken'ichi sneered him and looked him up and down in digust. Then he followed his mother. "Sweet kid" Kouga said sarcastically.
Later on Kagome and Ken'ichi was riding in the car. "So mom do you love Kouga." "Yes, I do sweetheart very much and it hurts mommy when you treat him like you do. " He held his head down. "Sorry, mom" "It's quite alright sweetie." "Did you love daddy?'' Kagome eyes widened. "Of course and I still do'' ''Do you love him more than Kouga?'' Kagome sighed and smiled. "Way more." Ken'ichi smiled. "But don't tell Kouga I said that." Kagome said nervously. "I won't" Kagome parked in front of her old house. She just stared at it reminicing how her and Inuyasha would make out on the porch and the tree he used to always climb just to see her. "Mom? Earth to mom?'' Ken'ichi snapped her out of her daydreams. "Oh, sorry." She got out the red farrai she loved to drive. She went up to the door and her son followed her. She used her key to get in house only to find her mother,Kikyo's mother, and Kikyo. Mrs.Higurashi eyes lit up she ran and greeted her daughter. "You're pregnant again?! It's Kouga's" Kagome nodded. "Yeah, it's a girl." She began to rub her stomach. "Is this my little grandson. Last time last time I saw you, you were knee high You've grown up to look like such an handsome young man." Ken'ichi blushed. "Hi, grandma" Mrs. Higurashi faced Kikyo and her mother. "You know Kikyo and her mother Aki." "Hello, Ms. Aki."
"Hello, Ms. Kagome. It's been a long time."
Kikyo approached Kagome. "I'll leave you two alone." She turned to Ken'ichi. "Wanna help grandma and Ms. Aki" Ken'ichi smiled and followed Mrs.Higurashi leaving Kikyo and Kagome alone staring at each other nervously. "Hey, Kagome. It's been a long time." "Uh huh" Kagome said staring off into space as Kikyo babbled on. Kagome turned to face Kikyo now with a serious face. "Why are you in my house, Kikyo?'' Kikyo was silent for a moment. "Your mom and my mom were having brunch so I decided to join them. It's been a long time since they hung out. I think we should maybe do lunch some day." "I think we shouldn't" Kikyo sighed. "Kagome, I am sorry for what I did in high school but that was a long time ago and I changed." "Yeah, I heard that before when you videotaped you and InuYasha.'' "I am truly sorry. But I have a daughter and a husband. I don't have time for childish games like that anymore. And all I want is a truce from you.'' ''I do believe that you changed Kikyo but I'm not ready yet for us to hang out. Even after 11 years I am still shook up from what you did and how you treated me." Kikyo sighed. "I understand. But when you ever get ready give me a call." "It won't be soon.'' Kagome glared Kikyo and walked pass her.
Later on that night Kagome and her mom was sitting on the couch talking and Ken'ichi was sleep in Souta's old room. ''So why did you treat Kikyo like that? She's changed of her ways and you have to learn how to forgive." "It took you 30 years to forgive Aki of what she did with daddy." "Well, I was married to your father you were not married to that Hiroshi guy. You two were friends since your crib days." Kagome sighed. ''I'll see what I can do.'' "Thanks. So you're leaving tommorrow afternoon." "Yeah, I'm sorry that I couldn't stay longer but Ken'ichi has to go school and I'm scared Kouga will turn my house into a zoo if I leave him any longer." "Oh I totally forgot. How is Kouga?'' ''He's great and he sends his love." "How sweet send mine also."
"Okay" Kagome yawned and stretched. "I guess I better get to bed. I miss it." Kagome sluggishly walked upstairs into her old room. It was in the exact same shape she left it. Kagome knew it would be because her mom wouldn't dare disturb anything in there. She went to her drawer and pulled out the prayer bead necklace. She ran the beads through her fingers. Then rubbed them along her face loving the cold feel of them. She went in her closet and grabbed her old pajamas. She could barely fit them because of her pregnancy. She saw InuYasha's old rock on shirt that she loved to where. She inhaled taking in all the aroma of InuYasha that was still there. Small tears always ran down her face when she smelled his scent. She didn't even like his smell of burned rubber and boiled eggs but after he passed she longed for it everyday. She sighed and threw herself on her soft bed and soft plush pink blanket and slowly fell into a deep slumber.
The next morning Kagome was dressed in a nice blue summer dress and Ken'ichi had a red sleeveless shirt with khaki shorts and they were at the door giving kisses and saying their goodbyes to Mrs. Higurashi. They left the house and got into the red farrai that was glowing in the Sunday sun. "I have to make a quick stop" Kagome said driving off and parking in front a loft building. "467 Roxbury this is the place.'' Kagome got out the car and her son followed. Thet took the elevator up to the 2nd floor and went over to a door that read A4. "Why are we here?'' Ken'ichi asked worriedly. "To meet an old friend of mine." She knocked at the door and a tall shirtless guy opened the door rubbing the crust from his eyes. "Who is...." the guy's violet eyes grew with excitement. "Kagome?!'' He embraced her. "Miroku, it's been a long time." "Please come in." Kagome and Ken'ichi ,who was hiding behind his mother, came in the giant loft. "I see you haven't changed since the last time I've seen you." Miroku pointed to her stomach. Kagome smiled timidly.
Then a lady with long raven hair that was rustled amongst her head came out with nothing but a sheet covering her. She came to discover her lover and her best friend sitting down laughing. "Kagome? Is that you?'' Kagome got up and embraced Sango. "Still pregnant?" Kagome chuckled. Then Sango turned to Ken'ichi. "And who is this handsome young man looking just like InuYasha." "I'm Ken'ichi." "I know who you are. I knew you when you just came into the world. I was there." Sango hugged little Ken'ichi small fragile body. He blushed and smiled nervously as he felt Sango's breast rub against him through the thin fabric of the linen "Well, I'm gonna put on some clothes." Sango skipped happily to the back room. Kagome turned to Miroku and smiled. "I can see you two still have your old ways." Kagome sat down across from Miroku.
He sighed at the comment that Kagome made and changed the subject. "So who's the father?'' Kagome looked at her stomach and giggled. "It's Kouga's" Miroku's eyebrow rose up. "So you guys are married?'' She raised her her hand showing a 14kt white gold wedding band next to the pink princess cut diamond engagement ring that InuYasha gave her on their anniversary. "Well, you know the married life. So how long have you and Sango have been married." Miroku lowered his head. "We're not married." "You've guys been together this long and not yet gotten married." "I did get married.....to another woman." Kagome gasped. "Does Sango know?!'' ''She knows perfectly well of my situation." "Why are you two having sex if you're married. I'd never think of you as that type of person." "I'm not! It's just that after high school I went to France and Sango stayed here. We thought it would be best if we didn't have a long distance realationship. There in Paris I met this smart, elegant, beauty of a woman, her name was Amelia. We got into a serious relationship and got married. And about 3 years ago we moved here to Kyoto, she's learned perfect Japanese just so I can live near my family." "She's sounds sweet."
Miroku sighed. "She is and when I moved back I bumped into Sango and I couldn't help myself. I needed and craved her. It was like being 17 all over again." "So what are you going to do." "I don't really know. Even though I love Sango I also love Amelia." "I know what you mean." Then Sango came out with some pajama pants and a tank top. "What'd I miss?'' ''Miroku been telling me about how he's married." Sango stood wide eyed then sighed. "Kagome, you know I wouldn't usually do this but Miroku's something special to me." She went to stand beside. Miroku looked up at her and smiled gently. "I understand guys." She looked at her watch. "Look I have to go." Kagome said getting up and walking towards the door. "Hey, drop by when you're in town." Kagome smiled and left and Ken'ichi eagerly followed.
They got into the car and drove off. Kagome started to think about Miroku's situation and in a way she was the same way. Even though InuYasha's dead I still have feelings for him and often cry when Ken'ichi makes gestures that only belonged to InuYasha and even though his voice was premature and sweaky ever so often InuYasha's husky tone would seep through his voice from nowhere Kagome sighed and her thoughts were suddenly interrupted when she felt a little hand on her shoulder. Kagome turned to look at her eager son's eyes. "What is it, Ken'ichi?'' ''Befor we go to dad's grave can we get something to eat first." Kagome looked at her watch. "I don't know if we have enough time." "Please." Ken'ichi dropped his little puppy dog ears and whimpered. Kagome eyes got very watery. "Are you okay, mom?'' Kagome turned to her son smiled. "I'm fine." "So can we get something to eat."
Kagome carressed her son's ears. "How can I say no to my puppy boo." She said in a babyish tone Ken'ichi blushed. "Mom?'' "What?'' ''You haven't called me puppy boo since 1st grade." "You don't like your nickname anymore." Ken'ichi shook his head. "Okay, I won't call you that." Ken'ichi frowned. "You can call me that sometimes but not in public." "Alright.....puppy boo." Ken'ichi blushed. He loved being his mother's puppy boo and wanted nobody else to have it. Then Kagome parked in front of Kierei's. They got out the car. "Where are we?'' ''It's a great restaurant that your father took me to and they serve great chili dogs." "I love chili dogs. Piggy back." Kagome sighed and bent down. "I don't if I can do piggy back anymore beacause of the baby." Kagome rubbed her stomach. Ken'ichi held his head down. "Okay.'' Ken'ichi said in a low sorrowful voice. Kagome turned around. "Alright get on" Ken'ichi eyes lit up and he jumped on his mother back. She rose stumbling a little bit and went into the restaurant. The door made that little *ching* that she just loved to hear. "Kagome?! Is that you." Keirei approached Kagome attempted to hug her but realized she was pregnant and had a kid on her back.
"You're pregnant. So I guess you've met someone else." Kagome put her head down. "Yeah." Keirei looked at the kid that was hanging off Kagome's shoulders and marveled at him. "You look exactly like your father when he was your age. What's your name sweetheart." "I'm Ken'ichi Taisho." "He took InuYasha's last name.'' ''Well, I wanted his name to be sent through the family." "That's sweet. Let me show you guys a table." Keirei walked over to the booth that Kagome and InuYasha sat at on their so- called date. They sat down and Ken'ichi was estatic but he looked over to her mother at how she was sitting there frozen into her dream worlds again. She's having another daydream. I better snap her out of it before this one ends in tears. "Mom?" Kagome shook her head. "Yes, honey?'' ''Why do you constantly daze into another fanasty almost everyday on almost every hour." "I'm sorry sweetheart it's just hard for me to keep my thoughts straight at my working hours." "I think it's dad." Kagome's eyes widened. "Why would you think it's him."
"Because you still love him and sometimes you wish you didn't marry that Kouga" "Of course not. Yes I still love your father but I do love Kouga and I never had any regrets." "Okay, let's just order." Ken'ichi motioned Keirei to their table and ordered two chili dog specials. I'm lieing to Ken'ichi. I do have regrets, too many of them I sometimes regret that I even met InuYasha. I always thought if I never met him I wouldn't feel this tight pain in my stomach everytime I smell burned rubber and boiled eggs. Or when Ken'ichi drop his ears like InuYasha used to do. But then again if I never met him I wouldn't be the person I am today. "Mom? You're doing it again." Kagome shook her head. Ken'ichi took a bite of his chili dog. "Two times in 30 minutes that's a record."
"I'm sorry I just have a lot of things on my mind." "Eat your chili dog before it gets cold." Kagome smiled gently and began to eat. Later on Keirei aproached them. "Are you guys finished?'' Kagome nodded and Keirei picked up their plates. "So what brings in town" "InuYasha" Keirei sighed. "Yeah, it's been about ten years." Then her eyes lit up and she ran to the back and came to their booth with a bouquet of flowers. "Can you take this with you and send my love because me and Sasoke's been really busy lately and I never have the time." Kagome smiled and took the bouquet. "I will." Kagome got her purse and got up. "I'll see you later we're headed there now." "Alright, bye sweetheart." Keirei gave her a lovesome hug. She bent down to Ken'ichi's level. "Bye, sweetie." "Bye, Ms. Keirei" Ken'ichi said shyly. "Oh, call me Auntie Keirei." She gave him a hug and a kiss on the cheek. Ken'ichi blushed and followed his mother out the door.
Later on Kagome and Ken'ichi was driving in the car as the Sunday wind blew in their hair. They stopped in front of a cemetery that read Higher Grounds. She looked at the depressing scene and sighed. She got out with the flowers closed tightly to her chest. Ken'ichi grabbed onto her pant leg. She looked down to her son's freightened face. They walked into the cemetery ground. They reached a vermillion rose granite color double wing upright monument that read InuYasha J. Taisho in gray granite letter. It shined as Kagome and Ken'ichi approached it.
"Hey, InuYasha. Here's some flowers that Keirei and Sasoke sent. Kagome kneld and placed the flowers neatly next to the grave. "Say a few words Ken'ichi." Ken'ichi's ears drooped. "I don't know what to say." "Say what's in your heart." "Um....even though I've never met you I can get an idea how you look because everybody say I look exactly like you. And um...I wish I could meet you and I wish you were here so that bastard Kouga wasn't living with us." "Okay, that's enough honey. Go wait in the car so you can leave me and your father alone." Ken'ichi nodded and went back to the farrai. "Hey, InuYasha. You know I miss you terribly. I know you're gonna get mad but me and Kouga got married and we have girl on the way." Kagome rubbed her stomach.
"I also wanted to say that I need you. I need your strength right now because you don't know how much I miss you. Your son over there, unfortunely acts just like you and he reminds me of you so much it makes me sick." Kagome to ball out in tears. Kagome got up from her kness. She wiped her tears away and dusted herself off. She felt a wind and felt a familiar feeling every time she came back home. "I know. I love you, too." Kagome smiled and returned to her car. "Areyou okay, mom? "I am now" She drove off into the sun to continue her life with her husband. But even though InuYasha is not with her she could feel him every step her way.
THE END.
A/N: I'm sorry that I got lazy with this chapter I just typed it to give some type of closure to the readers. If you need better closure read the alternate aftermath ending called I Always Will
Watch out for my future fanfics. "Let's Get Away" which is a really great fic I think it's better than this one. It is an InuYasha fic about a woman who is married and has a kid. Then on a bussiness trip meets a guy and has a affair with him. Then "Friends?" is a one shot InuYasha fic about how far friends can go. It is dripping with Lemon so all my lemon fans will like that one.

"I know who you are.
