Kagome and Inuyasha walked into her apartment around seven that night. Kagome went to her room and grabbed her hairbrush. She started untangling her hair as she walked back to the living room.
“I hate it when he calls me that.” Inuyasha said. He had been sulky ever since Kouga had showed up at lunch.
“I know Yash.” Kagome sat down beside him, resting her head on his shoulder. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s not you.” He said, putting his arm around her. “I just get bad vibes from him.”
Kagome sighed. Inuyasha would never tell Kagome not to date someone. He wanted her to be happy. But he would tell her who he thought was right and who was wrong. So far, no one had been right.
“Come on.” She said, “We’re going out.”
“Kags, that paper’s not going to write itself.” Inuyasha smirked.
“Sure it is.” She smiled. “Come on.” She stood up, taking his hands in hers. “I’m going out with or without you.” She pouted as he stood up. “I’d just prefer not going alone.”
“Well, how can I deny such a request?” He asked, smiling. “But I have nothing to wear.” He mocked.
“Well, lets see what we have here.” She led him over to her room and looked through her closest. Usually she had some clothes of his from previous visits.
Inuyasha immediately spotted what he wanted to wear, originally having no intention to change. He grabbed a pair of his old khaki cargos and his favorite red shirt. “I wondered where that went.” He said as he started to change.
“Geez Yash.” Kagome said, turning away from him as he threw off his pants. “Have some modesty.”
“Why?” He asked, tossing his shirt at her.
“Men.” She muttered, continuing to look through her clothes.
“What’s wrong with what you’re wearing?”
“I don’t know. I look kind of frumpy.” She said. “Besides, this shirt makes me look fat.”
“Are you kidding?” Inuyasha asked, moving to stand behind her. “If you didn’t have a boyfriend I’d drop you to the floor and have my way with you right now.” He whispered into her ear.
“Oh ha, ha.” She rolled her eyes. Kagome didn’t realize how serious Inuyasha was.
“Well, if you really want to change so bad,” Inuyasha said, breaking the awkward tension, “Try that lilac top you have.” He shifted through her drawers looking for it. “I love that one.”
Kagome did as he suggested. She looked in the mirror. “It must be the skirt that’s making me look so hideous.” She reasoned, looking for a pair of jeans.
“Leave the skirt Kags.” Inuyasha said.
“No, it’s not right.” She found a pair of jeans she liked and put them on. She shrugged at her appearance and looked at Yash.
“Ready?” she asked, throwing her hair up into a high ponytail.
“Sure.” He shook his head at his friend. How could her self-image be so far off?
Kagome locked her door and they hurried out to her car. “There’s a club down town,” she said. “The cover charge is fifteen dollars, but you get free drinks till midnight.” She explained.
“Cool.” Yash said, allowing her to drive, only because he knew he had a tendency to over do it a little.
The ride to the club was nearly silent. The only sound coming from Kagome’s radio. Finally they pulled into the nightclub and stood in the queue. The line moved quickly and they were standing next to the doorman in no time. “ID please.” The bouncer said when Kagome and Inuyasha walked up.
Kagome pulled out her license and smiled sweetly to the man. She was twenty-two but everyone thought she looked like she was still a teenager. Inuyasha pulled out his and scowled. He was twenty-three, turning twenty-four, and hated being carded.
“Go in.” They went inside and the noise caused Inuyasha to flatten his ears against his skull.
“I’m going to conceal.” He said above the sounds of ‘Party Up’ by DMX.
“Okay!” Kagome shouted, nodding. “Want a drink?”
“Captain and coke.” She smiled and went to the bar, while Inuyasha went into the men’s room to put on a concealment charm.
He didn’t even think about how loud the music would be, he should have concealed himself at Kagome’s. He shrugged and muttered the incantation. He stepped out of the stall to see black hair and very normal human ears (the only changes necessary).
Kagome went up to the bar tender. “What can I get ya little lady?” he asked.
“Two Captain’s and Coke.” Kagome said sweetly.
“You got it.” He smiled and fixed the drinks.
“Thanks.” Kagome shouted. She turned to see a human Inuyasha walking toward her. She felt a little queasy for a minute, then got over it.
She had to admit to herself though, Demon, Human, or Hanyou, she had a hot best friend.
“Here ya go.” She said handing him the drink.
“Thanks Kags.” He took the drink and downed it.
“Plan on getting sloshed?” She asked, not hiding the smirk that crossed her face.
Inuyasha looked down at her and ignored the comment. He had finished three captains before Kagome ordered a second. “Let’s dance!” she shouted. “Come on! I love this song!” she pouted and he rolled his eyes, allowing her to lead him onto the floor.

The club had them both feeling very hot. There were tons of people there, and their sensual dancing didn’t help matters much. Inuyasha had finished off way too many drinks to be coherent (and at the declaration of ‘Tequila shots’!), Kagome decided it was time to go. She led him out the door and to her car.
They took the elevator up to her apartment and she dragged him to her room.
He had stopped muttering things, and was now staring at her, as though she was a figment of his imagination. She took off his shoes and went to the bathroom to change. She came back and he was curled up in her bed, apparently sleeping.
She rolled her eyes and got into bed next to him, turning off her bedside lamp. His arm went around her almost instantly and she sighed.
“Kagome,” he said, slurring only slightly.
“What?” she asked, turning to look at him. His concealment had worn off and big amber eyes were looking at her.
“I really do love you.” He pressed his lips to hers and then he passed out.
