Kagome was crying. She had been crying a lot lately. She was going to school in New York, while Inuyasha was staying in their hometown, that was six hours away. She tried to wipe away her tears as her mother announced that Inuyasha was coming up. It was pointless, they just kept falling.
“It’s okay Kagome.” He said immediately as he entered. “Please don’t cry. I could smell your tears all the way down stairs.”
Kagome smiled slightly. “I don’t want to go Yash.” She said, shaking her head.
“We haven’t even graduated yet, and you’re already worried about that?”
“Of course! This is going to be our last summer together!”
“Kagome, calm down.” He smiled as she ignored him. “Kagome, I have something to tell you.”
She continued crying and held on to him, as though he were her lifeline. She was still talking about how they’d never see each other again and that New York was so far away and how things would never be the same between them.
“Kagome!” He took her by the shoulders and forced her to look at him. Her eyes were puffy and she looked miserable. She was just as cute as ever. “I’m going with you.” He said again.
She sniffled. “What?”
“I got wait-listed at your school, and didn’t want to say anything. But they called and I can go now.” He smiled. “We’re not going to be separated.”
“You better not be lying to me Inuyasha Kurma! I will kill you!”
“I would never lie to you Kagome.” She smiled and hugged him, crying happily this time. “Not ever.” He whispered.
“I’m so happy Yash! We have to tell your brother! And Mom! And we’ll tell Sango!”
“Kagome,” he choked. “Kagome, you’re crushing my windpipe.”
Kagome released him and smiled apologetically. “Sorry.”
“It’s okay.” He laughed.
“I love you Yash!”
“I love you too Kags.”

Graduation was boring, exciting, fun, and sad all in one. After the ceremony Kagome, Inuyasha and Sango stood outside the school getting their pictures taken. Kagome stuck her tongue out and crossed her eyes for one of them. Inuyasha laughed and she tackled him to the ground. The picture was taken.
“Inuyasha,” Sesshomaru hugged his little brother and whispered. “Dad and Mum would have been proud.”
“Thanks Sesshomaru.” He whispered back. He turned and Kagome snapped a picture.
“Total photo. Op.” She smiled.
“You’re going down for that.” Yash said.
Kagome laughed wickedly. “Why? Cause I have evidence that you and Sess get along?” She asked.
“Watch your back Kags.”
“Come and get me Yash.”
Inuyasha wasted no time in chasing Kagome. She knew he could catch up to her with his demonic speed, he just liked to torture her. She ran around the hundreds of parents and graduates, dodging Inuyasha’s hands as they tried to capture her.
“Give up Yash.” She called.
“Never!”
Kagome ran into Sesshomaru’s arms and Inuyasha stopped short. “Help Sess!” She said once Inuyasha was close enough to hear.
Inuyasha growled. “Aww, come on Kags. I just wanna hug.” He smirked at her and she screamed. Sesshomaru let go of her and she ran away, but Inuyasha used his speed to catch her. He pinned her to the ground and started to tickle her.
“Why don’t they just start dating?” Sango asked Sesshomaru.
“I have no idea.” He admitted.
