Inuyasha spent breakfast staring at his coffee and trying to come up with a plan to rid them of Kouga.
“Can I get you anything else dears?” The waitress asked.
“I’m all set.” Kagome answered. “You Yash?”
“Oh… uh, yeah I’m all set thanks.” He smiled to the waitress who smiled back and left the check.
“You seem very distracted Inuyasha.” Kagome said. She reached her hand across the table to rest on his. “Are you thinking about what I think you’re thinking about?”
“I think so.” He smiled slightly.
“Lets just enjoy these moments for a little bit… Okay?” She watched him nod a little. She sighed, picking up the check and digging through her wallet.
“What are you doing?” he asked, still not staring away from his coffee.
“Paying the check so you can go be miserable some place else.” She said a little more angrily then she had meant to.
“I’ll get it Kags.” He said, his hand searching through his pockets.
“Forget it. It’s paid for. Let’s go.” She took him by the hand and led him out of the small café.
“I’m sorry Kagome.” He mumbled as they got into his car. “For being so distracted.”
“I understand why you are Yash. I understand your distraction. I would just rather have these next few months be… blissful… not… miserable.”
“I understand. I’ll try not to think about what’s gonna happen to us. I’ll live for the here and now.”
Kagome smiled at him and nodded to show that she had heard and accepted. “Thanks.” She put the car in drive and started back to her apartment.
“Why are you driving my car?” He asked suddenly as they rounded Maple Avenue.
“Because you were being distracted.” Kagome answered simply.
“Sneaky little bitch.” He smiled at her and she grinned back. “You know, I haven’t seen the world from this side of my car in a while.” He said.
“It’s a nice view.” Kagome commented off-hand.
“Yeah, not bad.”

Kagome chatted idly with Sango as Miroku and Inuyasha went to get more drinks. The bar was quiet and they were thankful it was a dull night.
“So, he didn’t take the news well?” Sango asked.
“Of course he didn’t. That’s just Inuyasha. But…I think it’ll be okay. We’ll work our way out of this.” Kagome smiled a false smile she had been practicing for weeks.
“Yeah. It’ll all be okay.” Sango agreed.
Miroku and Inuyasha came back, taking their respective seats. Kagome had been trying to convince Inuyasha for days that they should just keep going out and having fun like they would on any other occasion. He finally agreed this night to go out and ‘have fun’. Though he looked miserable and Kagome couldn’t fight the feeling that maybe he didn’t want to be there.
Kagome spent the night only half listening to the conversations around her… most of her thoughts were stuck on how she could convince Inuyasha to have a good two months, rather than a miserable two months. ‘-What am I going to do?-‘
Meanwhile, Inuyasha’s thoughts were stuck on how to get rid of Kouga for good. Only one thing came to mind and he couldn’t see that happening. He kept staring at Kagome with a jealous glow in his eyes; he wouldn’t let Kouga take her over… he just wouldn’t. But even if he mated her, Kouga was a full Youkai and he could break the bond. ‘-What am I going to do?-‘

“Inuyasha.” Kagome smiled, sitting on the bed. “Aren’t you coming to bed?” She asked.
“Yeah.” He muttered, turning off the bathroom light. He walked in and got into bed, not once glancing at Kagome.
She looked down at herself, she was wearing her cutest tank top and only her frilly red lace panties. She sighed angrily at Inuyasha’s apathy and turned off her bedside light.
“What’s the matter?” Inuyasha asked, hearing her angry sigh.
“Nothing.” She responded shortly and pulled the blankets tighter around her.
“You’re lying Kags.” He said turning his side light on and turning to face her. “What’s up?”
“I said nothing.”
He put his arm around her waist and finally noticed her attire. “Oh.” He said softly. “Kags-“
“No it’s fine Inuyasha.” She said calmly. “It’s fine.”
“Kags… I love you.” He whispered, kissing her neck.
“I love you too Inuyasha.” She turned around and put her arms around him. “I just want to be happy.”
“I want to be happy too.” He kissed her lips softly. “But it always there… in the back of my mind…”
“I know.” Kagome kissed his lips, ensnaring him in a heated kiss. “That’s why I want to help us forget.”
Inuyasha smirked at her, feeling her body become closer to his. “Lets try to forget.” Kagome nodded and captured his lips once more.
“I love you.” She said, Inuyasha straddled her and smiled, repeating her words.
As passions subsided Inuyasha smiled cuddling up with Kagome. She smiled and cuddled up next to him.
Suddenly Inuyasha’s nose caught scent of something. He whipped his head up and looked around. Suddenly he realized what it was.
“How in the hell…”
