Kagome smiled as she jogged down the stairs, sure she was late for class, but the reason why was making her smile. She shook her head, trying to rid thoughts of Inuyasha from her head as she started her car up… she was so late.

Inuyasha smirked as Kagome ran out of the apartment like it was on fire. He had enjoyed making her late, and his ego inflated how she couldn’t (or wouldn’t) deny him. He turned on the shower and thought back to what he had sensed last night… but surely he was imagining things… he must have been.

“There’s just no way.” He said out loud.

“No way what?” Miroku walked in and smiled at Inuyasha.

“Don’t you knock?” he asked, pulling a towel out of the wardrobe.

“No.” Miroku said simply. “I came by to invite you and Kags out tonight. We all have the night off and it’s gonna be fun!” Miroku smiled and gave one of his classic ‘you’re not getting out of this so give it up’ looks.

“Not tonight Miroku. I’m worried about Kags.”

“Why?” Sango came in and sat down on the couch.

“What is wrong with you people!?” Inuyasha asked rolling his eyes.

“What? Like Miroku would go anywhere without me.” Sango rolled her eyes and picked up a magazine from the table.

“So why are you worried about Kags?” Miroku asked.

Inuyasha exhaled and gave up, he obviously wasn’t getting in the shower any time soon. “Hold on.” He went to the bathroom and turned off the water. “Okay, I… well don’t tell anyone but I think… I think Kags is pregnant.”

“What!” Sango stood up and looked at Inuyasha fiercely.

“Well… last night we were laying in bed and… not that it’s any of your business but… well I sensed that maybe she’s pregnant.” Inuyasha shrugged and sat down on the couch, taking Sango’s now vacant chair.

Sango sat next to him while Miroku sat on the coffee table in front of him. “How can you tell?” Sango asked.

“Well… I dunno… Hanyou’s can just tell. There’s something that changes in the scent.” He sighed and looked down hearted.

“Well why do you look so sad?” Sango asked.

“Because of this whole Kouga junk. I don’t want Kouga to be raising my pups that’s not right.”

“Kagome won’t let that happen.” Sango offered.

“And neither will you.” Miroku added.

“Yeah… you’re right. I would give my life before that happened. But don’t tell Kags that I think she might be… you know.”

“Sure thing buddy.” Miroku smiled and stood up. “We have class. Don’t you?”

“Yeah probably.” Inuyasha smiled and stood up with Sango. “Thanks for stopping by guys… even though I was about to take a shower, and you kind of ruined that.” He smiled and Miroku hit him on the shoulder.

“No probs. Yash.” Miroku smiled and started to walk out the door. “We’ll see you tonight at eight. We’ll drive.” Sango and Miroku walked out the door and Inuyasha nodded.

“Sure guys bye.” He closed the door and realized what had happened. “You bastards.” He had been conned into going out tonight. His friends were relentless.

“I can’t go out tonight!” Kagome walked into her apartment and tossed her books on the couch. Even though Inuyasha and her had been staying at his apartment for some time, she did still keep most of her school things at her own apartment. “I have a huge test tomorrow. I can’t fail.”

“Kagome, it’s not my fault. You know how Sango and Miroku are. They con people into anything.” Inuyasha said on the other end of the line.

“But…” Kagome sighed, there was no changing Sango’s mind when she had decided something; and there was no way Miroku would go against Sango. “Fine.” Kagome shuffled through her books and grabbed the one she needed. “But I’m studying at the bar.”

Inuyasha laughed and said “Yeah okay. I’ll see you in a little bit.”

“Okay.” Kagome hung up the phone and ran upstairs to change her clothes.

Kagome sat at the table, her nose stuck in her European history book.

“Come on Kags. This is a night club, not a library!” Sango closed the book and yanked Kagome up.

“Sango! I have a test at ten in the morning tomorrow! And I need to study! I know nothing about Europe!”

“Who cares!? No one knows anything about Europe!” Sango retaliated. “Come on, let’s dance.”

Inuyasha came over with a drink in one hand and a soda in the other, handing the soda to Kagome. “I thought you could use a drink.” He smiled.

“Thanks.” She took a sip and looked at the glass, “There’s no alcohol in this.” She said.

“I know.”

“Why?”

“You have a test tomorrow.” Inuyasha smirked and set his drink down by Kagome’s book. “Come on, let’s dance.”

Kagome woke up the next morning feeling like crap. Her stomach was nauseous and her head had a dull throb. She ran to the bathroom, feeling as though she were going to throw up, but only coughed for a minute.

“And you didn’t even drink.” Inuyasha said, sitting next to her on the tile floor. “Here.” He handed her some Tums and some Advil.

“Thanks.” She chewed the Tums and Inuyasha handed her a glass of water to go with the Advil.

“Kags, there’s something I should tell you… I actually should have told you the other day when I realized it but…”

“What?” Kagome was concerned, to say the least.

“Kags, I think you might… be pr… well have a pu… you know a…”

“Yash either spit it out, or give up.” Kagome did not feel like dealing with broken sentences and muddled gestures.

“Pup. Baby. Pregnant.”

“What!?”

“I think you’re-“
“I know what you mean!” Kagome felt slightly panicked. “How can I be? I mean I know how but… I think I’m hyperventilating.”

“It’s okay, just breathe.”

“I can’t be… you’re wrong… how do you even know?”

“Well, I can sense things, you know that.”

“Oh god. I can’t be.”

“It’s okay… don’t worry… It’ll all work out.” Inuyasha was feeling hurt that Kagome didn’t seem to want his child. He thought she would be at least a little happier.

“What’s gonna happen?” She asked, looking up at him helplessly. “What about Kouga? And school? And us?”

“I don’t know.” Inuyasha pulled Kagome in for a comforting hug and rubbed her back soothingly. “We’ll work it out. I’m already on academic probation because of… everything so I’ll just stop after this semester and take it up again some other time. You’re the smart one anyway Kags. And as far as Kouga… we’ll deal with that in a month.”

“But… I don’t want him near our child.” Kagome looked up at Inuyasha with sad eyes and he understood. She was happy to have his child, but sad that the situation weren’t better.

“Then I won’t allow it.” Inuyasha stood up, leaving Kagome on the bathroom floor. “I have to see Sesshomaru.” With that he left.

“Yash wait!” Kagome stood up and ran after him but he was long gone.

You hate me?? I know! You probably thought it was something WAY cooler! And I kept you in suspense over… that! Well I have reasons (my sister’s gonna have a baby!) haha and I was excited! Anyway… the story is coming to an end SOON so… look for another chapter within a week. But I go back to school Sunday so it’ll either be before the weekend or on Monday. Love you guys!
