Chapter 28: A Chat

Inuyasha turned up the radio as he drove wildly toward Sesshomaru’s. He wasn’t sure exactly what his big brother would do, but Inuyasha believed it was time to solve this problem. He took a sharp corner, nearly rolling his car over as he skidded on two wheels and he decided he should slow down; he’d be no good to anyone dead.
Finally, after what seemed hours (and in actuality was half an hour) later he arrived at Sesshomaru’s. He ran up to the door, pounding on it forcefully.
“Sess!” He yelled knocking again. “SESS!”
“What!?” Sesshomaru opened the door, looking slightly put-off at being disturbed “Inuyasha? Have you any idea what time it is?”
“Yeah, it’s like ten in the morning.”
“Is it that late already?” Sesshomaru asked, looking for the clock on the far wall. “Well, come in.” he ushered Inuyasha inside and closed the door behind him. “What do you need?”
“It’s about Kouga.”
“What can I do about it?” Sesshomaru asked, walking toward the kitchen.
“There has been some new developments. Kouga can’t come back now.”
“What do you mean?” Sesshomaru started the coffee maker and stood, semi-casually, waiting for his little brother to speak.
“Kagome’s pregnant.”
“What? Inuyasha, I know you aren’t a full demon, but… to have pups with a woman and not be mated.” Sesshomaru began shaking his head.
“Look, now is not the time for your moral speech okay.” Inuyasha rolled his eyes as he continued. “I just need to get Kouga out of the picture… for good.”
“That sounds very final Inuyasha.” Sesshomaru said, looking sternly Inuyasha.
“It is.”
Sesshomaru paused before replying, searching for the right words to say. “Can you handle it by yourself?” He asked seriously.
“I wouldn’t be here if I thought I could.”
Another pause occurred, Inuyasha looked hopefully at Sesshomaru as he looked pensively too the distance. Finally, after an eternity of silent pleading and stern thoughts Sesshomaru broke the silence. “I can cover your tracks. I cannot fix your problem.”
“I don’t expect you to. I just need it to be realistic.”
“I can get the evidence gone, and any traces. What were you thinking? Accident? Suicide?”
“Don’t care… accident’s more believable.”
“I’ll handle the covers. You just take care of the dirty work.” Sesshomaru took a sip of his coffee, which he had idly been preparing for a few minutes.
“Kags can’t know… she’d hate me.”
“That’s the only thing on your mind? Not the fact at what you’re going to do.”
“That doesn’t bother me Sess… only Kags matters.”
** Meanwhile **
Kagome finally had the energy to remove herself from the bathroom floor. She walked to the bedroom where she nearly collapsed. She wasn’t quite sure if it were the sudden shock at realizing she was pregnant, or the fact that she had a pretty good idea at just what Inuyasha was planning.
She stared at the wall, idly wondering what would happen now. She looked at the clock and started at the time. If she didn’t hurry she’d be late for her test.

Sorry kiddo’s that’s all I had written, but I was so late that I didn’t want to keep you waiting and have you hate me. Also, since I thought it was gonna be up sooner I didn’t think it would matter if the chapter was short.. *sigh* anyway.. leave one if you want to!
