Unexpected Disappointments & Unbelievable Surprises

Gomen nasai to everyone who has read the last chapter. While I was reviewing it, I found a couple of errors. Nothing much. Just messed up on a name or two and a couple of grammatical errors demo they have been fixed.

Sweet Delight's Boutique

Evening, Same day

 

“Hey Kagome-chan?” rang the high voice of one of my employees.

 

“Hai, Rin-chan?” I respond as I looked up from today's inventory review. Out of all of Sweet Delight's employees, only Rin had such a high yet non-ear piercing voice. Thank Kami.

 

Stepping into my office, Rin gave a small bow. “I just wanted to tell you that I've sent Kwan-kun to get everyone's dinner. Hope you're in the mood for Szechwan,” she said, giving me her ever-present smile. Honestly, I don't think I have ever seen this girl unhappy. I wish I could say the same thing about myself, demo at this moment; I am more on the distraught and denial side, than the unhappy side.

 

But as I have no time to pity myself, I just plastered a smile and told her, “You know me Rin-chan. I have never been picky about my food. Szechwan sounds good to me.”

 

“Good because you really didn't have a say in it, Oyabun (boss),” she said cheerfully as she rocked to-and-fro. “Anyways, I also wanted you to know that your sister, Kikyo, is on her way over. I just saw her car pass by,” she informed as I saw her face go from cheerful to piteous. Of course, the piteous look was on my behalf. “And…” Corking an eyebrow, I just couldn't help think, `Is Rin actually hesitating?'

 

“And…?” I questioned.

 

“Uhmm… InuYasha… InuYasha happened to be the passenger,” she stated.

 

Soothing my temple, I couldn't help but think `Kami-sama, you must be kidding me. Kikyo…? Coming to the boutique…? Has Hell frozen over? It must have if those two are bold enough to come to the boutique together. I wonder what kind of shit they are going to say.' As I was about to say something to Rin, I heard the door open and the most excruciating voice ring aloud, “You there. Where is Kagome?”

 

Exhaling deeply, I got up and headed towards the main room of the boutique. `This is DEFINITELY not my day. Why? Why must I put up with this?' “How may I help you, Nee-san?” I asked. Don't get me wrong. I haven't forgotten about what she and InuYasha have done. How could I? When they have the gull to show up here together. Demo I am at work, and no matter how pissed I happen to be at them, I am still the main figurehead of Sweet Delight's Boutique and I will not lower myself in acting like a child while at work. In addition, there are customers present.

 

Looking towards my direction, Kikyo began to make her way towards me, closely followed by InuYasha. `Does she seriously have to walk like that? As if she isn't a big enough bitch already. Geez!' I couldn't help thinking what I did. Can you blame me? I always tried to give her the benefit of a doubt, demo after today, I DON'T THINK SO!!!

 

Looking me over, Kikyo got into her ever-famous stance, the I-am-better-than-you-in-everyway stance. Damn it… I hate it when she stands like that. “We need to talk,” was all she said to me, as she looks straight at me.

 

`Of course, we do, Kikyo. The question is, what do you have to say to me that I already don't know of,' came my sarcastic thought. Turning to my side, I indicated for them to follow me to my office. “Follow me, please.” I personally don't care what others think, demo… there are just some things you don't want others, mainly customers, to know about.

 

Once they stepped into my office, I gently closed the door. And what do you guess happened at that second? Well, you're about to find out.

 

“Kagome-chan,” she said in a honey-covered voice.

 

`Did she just…'

 

“Dear…” concern in her eyes.

 

`Hell no… She did not. I can't believe that she has the gall to act as if she cares about my feelings… What a bitch!'

 

“I just wanted to tell you—“

 

`Screw this! Let's just get to the point' I fumed to myself. If she's just going to drag this around, well… I just don't want to hear her bull. “That you and InuYasha are going out and you just couldn't stand the guilt of stealing my boyfriend away from me. Is that what you wanted to say, Kikyo-CHAN?” Anyone notice the sarcasm?

 

`Damn… Can their eyes pop out any further?' I couldn't help but laugh to myself at their shocked expressions. It was obvious that they never thought that I was going to find out about them. Come on. I would have to have been blind not to notice them lip-locked in class. And the last time I checked, the optometrist said I have 20/20 vision. Nope… not blind.

 

“WHAT?!” came the unison flabbergasted response of Kikyo and InuYasha.

 

“What? Isn't that what you were going to tell me?” I asked them just to hear what bull they would try to tell me.

 

Taking a step forward, InuYasha began to blather out, “No! What the hell made you say that?” he questioned defensively.

 

`Poor InuYasha. Your defensiveness always gives you away' “Well let's see…” I said as I thoughtfully tapped my index finger to my chin. “Could it be the fact that this morning after Yamashita-san's class, I returned to his class only to find my dear sister and my devoted boyfriend making out in the storage closet?” I scathingly asked as I turned a hateful look at them.

 

Kikyou had the nerve to look me straight in the eyes and just give me a smug look. “Well, considering that you obviously know our little secret, I guess there isn't anything else which needs to be said. Than again, I guess I should thank you,” she haughtily remarked.

 

`YOU BITCH!!!!!' I screamed to myself. I told you she was a bitch. Composing my internal thoughts I continued, “Actually, I think I should be thanking you Kikyou. You see, I don't have time to waste on a cheating boyfriend and on a backstabbing sister. So if you will please leave, I have some work to do. So if you two will kindly show yourselves out, I'd appreciate it.” And just like that I dismissed them.
