Kagome sat next to her Riku watching the chaos of the camp. It had been decided the Kagura would watch over the children, a task she was surprisingly good at, until it came to the four pups. It seems the only person who could calm them, was trying to avoid them at all costs; which is where they were at the moment; Sango and Izayoi yelling at Inu Yasha to grow up and take some responsibility. The fact had crossed everyone that the pups responded well to the hanyou in any case, but he just wouldn’t do anything but hide in his tree or use an excuse when the pups started to cry. They knew their mother and father had left and the next closest thing was Inu Yasha. Inu no Tashio had tried but the fussing had gotten so loud that it was an obvious no, including the fact that Kagome had not liked him anywhere near her pups. They were a half a day away from the castle but with the many breaks they were taking for the children, they expected to arrive closer to diner then lunch. “I’m going to go check on Sesshomaru, make sure nothing really, really bad happens okay?” Kagome told her son. He nodded in understanding and turned to watch the clearing intently.
Sesshomaru sat with parchment and ink all around him. Books scattered the floor, some even shredded in anger as the Demon Lord poured over his search for any answers.Kagome watched in pain as her Mate worried over books in hopes of helping her. It touched something deep in her giving her strength. Taking the quill at his side and dipping it in ink she began: Pack comes dinner, pups need you, I fine, still watch over, keep promise I keep mine…Setting the quill down Kagome felt the energy leaving her and the exhaustion fill its place, setting a hand on his cheek she sighed as it only passed through him. Sesshomaru picked up the parchment and stared at the words. He had forgotten in pack in his pain, but it was the final five words that repeated in his mind even when he lost focus. The book he had been holding had slipped from his fingers. Kagome watched her mate noticing he had zoned out. Wondering if she could slip into his mind she focused.
Kagome looked around the dark abyss not even seeing a floor beneath her. “Hello?”“You have fallen into my trap, state why you are here before I decide you are not worth my time.” Kagome shivered at the anger in her mate’s voice. “Sesshomaru? Shunkai? Izayoi said that I could touch your mind and we could talk better like this then me having to exhaust myself writing things.” Looking around Kagome found what could only be described as a prison window. She couldn’t see the dark face that peeked through the window but she had to hold up a hand to shield her eyes from the light once the figure moved. It was moment later that Kagome saw the outline of a door. It opened spilling light into her prison. “Kagome?”“It’s me. You were shocked at my note I tried again to enter you mind. Like I said Izayoi said that we could talk and I could spend some of my time here in your mind with you. I’ve found out watching over our pack on their way here that only Izayoi and a single pup can see me. I had an accident and drew power from the living things around me and flashed into sight, however it will take weeks if not longer for the area to get its essence back. I’d rather just crash here for a while. I mean I’m stuck like this for 20 years. Which from what I was told, you or someone at least, has to find the trick to waking me up, which will take twenty years.”“Come then, we will fit you with an area so that you may ‘see’ what is happening.”Kagome stepped out of the black void into the mind of her mate she had seen before. Walls were placed creating rooms down a hallway. It was much like a never ending hotel hall. Each door had its own little difference to it that seemed to be her mate’s way of organizing whatever it was he was organizing. “I’m sorry about everything.” Kagome rubbed her arms walking down the hall after Shunkai. “We are not so worried now that we know you are still with us. Your messages have brought little comfort to us. It was believed that you had been locked in your mind, or worse cast out and lost to us forever.” Shunkai turned to look at Kagome and sighed. Her discomfort and pain was evident in the small actions she was doing, such as rubbing her arms. Walking back to his mate Shunkai wrapped her in his arms and placed his chin on her head. Kagome pressed against him and cried into his chest. Picking up his mate he cradled her against his chest as he finished walking down the hall. He opened what seemed to Kagome a simple red and blue door. Inside was a wall with two windows and a bed. “We’ll stay here until Sesshomaru can get a minute away. A shrine is being built at the inner most part of the castle and parts of the castle are being reinforced for easier protection. We were so focused on you actually falling asleep for these 2 centuries that we failed to find out how to keep your body safe.” Shunkai laid Kagome down on the bed. “Will you stay here with me? I kinda just want physical contact. This whole day had been hard because anything I try and touch I just go right through.” Kagome looked sheepish. “Alright. Will you explain how you wrote your messages though?” Shunkai sat at the head of the bed and leaned against the head board. He pulled her body up the bed and allowed her to rest her head in his lap. “It takes a lot to strength, right now most of the power I’m regaining is still going back to everyone we brought back plus Kyade, but I just reach out and start writing. I mean I can’t really explain it.” “You are giving energy to the older miko?” The new information was a surprise.“Ya, she’s getting younger, when she gets here you’ll see. They were taking a break about 4 hours away from the castle, but with the breaks they are taking for the children and Kyade I figure they will be here in time for dinner.”“Are you hungry?”“Yes and no. I feel that I should be but I’m not. I mean I ate breakfast and dinner last night, but it’s like my body doesn’t need the food.”“Hn. The pups rooms have been reinforced and other rooms have been prepared, we will make sure that dinner tonight will be large enough to feed everyone.”“Thank you mate, and again I am sorry for this. At least though, we are still together.” “Thank the gods for that. We have a clearer mind knowing that we will be able to see you and talk.”Kagome smiled and curling into Shunkai’s legs gripping his thigh. “One more thing before I take a nap. Why is it I am always naked when I visit?”Shunkai left out a rolling laugh that caused Kagome to shiver. “Why does it bother you so?”“Because it feel like this is all you want from me, as stupid as it seems I feel more respected with my clothes, as small or skimpy they maybe, then not having any at all, even if it is just you seeing me. Sleeping is one thing, but just walking around here in your mind, it is awkward.”“You have always had the power to dress yourself, we do not choose to have you in such a way it is your choice.”“You mean to tell me the two times I have visited you, it has been my choice if I wear clothes or not and what I wear?”“Yes.” Brushing a stray bit of hair from his mate’s face Shunkai sighed. Kagome thought about it for a second before letting out a sigh and just giving up. Closing her eyes Kagome allowed herself to sink into the comfort of the bed and a relaxed state. She wasn’t really asleep but she wasn’t awake either.
Inu Yasha watched the children chase each other around the clearing, realizing one was missing he looked around and found the boy sitting at the base of the tree he was in. Rolling off his perch Inu Yasha landed softly next to the boy. “Riku, why don’t you go play with the others?” The boy looked up with his ears pinned to his head. “Momma?” Inu Yasha flinch. Kagome sure had gotten to the hearts of these kids fast, but now she wasn’t here. Looking around at the rest of the adults, most of which we’re napping in the sun, Inu Yasha shook his head. They would be leaving shortly but even Inu Yasha knew the last few miles would seem to go on forever. “You can see your momma when we get to the castle. She’s being kept safe there.” Inu Yasha pulled the pup into his lap and set him so they could watch the others. Leaning into the tree Inu Yasha listened to everything going on. Those in the group not napping we’re either rechecking supplies or keeping a perimeter so that if a lower level demon did burst into camp it didn’t harm anyone.
Sesshomaru let out a calm sigh, at the moment Jaken was watching over Kagome and the rest of the staff was setting barriers and fixing walls so that they could defend his mate should anyone attack. He had sent out word to each of the other 3 Lords of a very vague explanation so that they didn’t believe he was preparing for an attack. He had already gotten word back from the North, though it was no surprise, since the wolves had brief contact with his brother’s pack. Prince Koga had asked to visit and Sesshomaru had asked for a weeks’ time before anyone visited. He didn’t trust the wolves but thanks to Kagome he knew as long as it involved her, the North would be on his side. The South was still in a political war and though he had yet to get a return on his message, he knew they would be no threat to him. Their numbers were less than a quarter of his, and no doubt he and Inu Yasha could easily defend the castle alone. But it was the East he was more worried about. They tended to strike first and ask questions afterwards. He had a treaty with them; however, even he wasn’t as stupid as to believe that would keep his lands safe. Checking on preparations for dinner, he broke part of the guard off and sent Kagome’s fire horse, Aries, to meet his pack. The escort would put his mind to ease knowing his father was with them and had been anything but helpful. The humans of the group could fight but with the number of pups it was an easy target. Finally sitting down in his study Sesshomaru looked into his mind to check on his Mate and beast. Finding both cuddled up and relaxing he left them to finish his neglected work.
As told, Inu Yasha showed up with everyone moments before dinner. Ordering baths for everyone and putting a hold on dinner, Sesshomaru let out a sigh. Rin gave his leg a hug before pulling a line of girls after her. Shippo pulled his own line the opposite way and down the hall. Inu Yasha dismissed their escort and pointed everyone towards their wings of the castle before sitting down at the table.“I see that you have more guards on the wall.” Inu Yasha pushed his hair back off his face. “Yes, I have also notified the other Lords so we do not get attacked. Kagome’s body is being guarded in our room as we speak.”“I seen her ghost at lunch. I started to turn because of the stress and anger. Riku and my Lady-mother were yelling for Kagome and at me and then the next thing I know everything around us is dying and I can see Kagome. It was only for a second but it brought me back. Did something happen?”“Kagome is not in her body. I do not know how or why, but she has visited me and has relayed messages to me. As of now she has broken through my mental barriers and is relaxing with my beast.”“Never a normal day with her.” Inu Yasha snorted.
Everyone ate a silent dinner. Once the dishes were cleared. It was Riku how spoke up from his place at Inu Yasha’s side. Tugging the older hanyou’s sleeve he almost yelled, “Momma.”Sesshomaru held the goblet to his lips and raised an eyebrow. Inu Yasha pulled the pup into his lap and whispered into the boy’s ear. “We’ll go see her together when we adults finish talking.” “Promise.” Inu Yasha growled at the pup’s memory. “Alright. Give me a minute.” Turning to his brother Inu Yasha redirected the conversation. “Can we go see Kagome? Riku wants to talk to her, and the pups would take comfort in it.” Sesshomaru stood and gave a single nod. Nodding to a waiting servant he left the room leading the line of children. Inu Yasha held the hand of Riku all the way up to where Kagome lay. Once Sesshomaru opened the door the heard of children they seemed to flood the bed. Riku took one look into the room and tears welled in his eyes. “Momma not here.” He wailed. The other children ignored him getting use to his odd behavior. Sesshomaru looked down at the hanyou attached to his brother. Inu Yasha seeing the look on Sesshomaru’s face explained. “Riku and my Lady-mother can see Kagome. I don’t know how but they talk to her and things.”“Hn.” Sesshomaru turned from the room and motion the two to follow him. Entering his study Sesshomaru sat down and motioned the two to sit. It took only a second to reach his beast and Kagome.
“You are needed by your son.” Sesshomaru stood next to the bed looking down at the two in envy. Kagome will stay. Here we can watch over her. Kagome listened to the two argue for a few more moments before letting out a sigh and turning over to look at the two. “Are you two always like this?” They looked at her in confusion. “As long as you keep your mental barriers down enough so I can slip in, I can come back. Now what pup needs me? I know our pups are being tended to by a wet-mother, even if I don’t like the idea.”“You have left little else open. However we will tend to any other needs of our pups once they are old enough. The bitches tending them now are for food and changing only. It will last only 5 months roughly.” Sesshomaru sat on the edge on the bed. “Hn.” Kagome sat up and crawled to Sesshomaru. He took her and pulled her into his lap burying his nose in her neck and hair. “The pup Riku is in need of your presents.” Sesshomaru muttered turned on by her scent. “Alright, give me a quarter of an hour and I will return.” Barring her neck Kagome let him lick the exposed flesh before jumping from his mind into the study where they all sat. Her appearance was noticed by the crying pup. “Momma!” Scrambling out of the hold of Inu Yasha the pup stopped inches from her skirts. Kagome knelt and smiled. “Have you been good?” She asked sitting against the desk of her mate. “Yes. Inu says to tell you to hurry your ass back before the bastard has a cow.” Riku said innocently. Kagome looked over at the extremely pale male and smiled. Behind her she heard her Mate growling. “Really? Well you can tell Inu not to worry that momma is taking care of everything.” Riku sat down in her lap not minding that she passed though him. “Momma say not worry.” Riku said to the hanyou in front of him. Under her breath Kagome mutter ‘sit’ and smiled as the spell activated without need of her energy. Riku laughed as Inu Yasha fell into the floor and behind the desk Sesshomaru snorted. “Are you alright Riku?”“Yes. Inu has been nice and everyone ignores me, Shippo and Rin play sometimes with me but they want to know why I talk to myself.”“Well does it bother you that no one wants to play because you talk to momma?” Kagome bit her bottom lip realizing her being around might not be such a good idea. “No, I like being with Inu. He thinks I don’t know things but I know. Like you sleeping. I know it’s not forever and everyone else thinks you’re going to wake up for the next meal or after you has lots of sleep. Just like I see things. Like how you love daddy, and how he loves you but you don’t wanna see it because he has to live up to what everyone wants to see.”Kagome remained silent, even Inu Yasha didn’t pick himself up from the floor. “That is very watchful of you baby, but Daddy and I are working things out together. You’re right I do love him, but there are some things that happened before I found you that we have to keep in mind. Things will fall into place like they are meant to.”“But Momma, if you love daddy why do you never act like it?”Sesshomaru leaned forward on his desk wishing very hard he could hear the other side of the pup’s conversation. Kagome thought about her answer and finally let out a sigh. “Because Daddy is a hard person to love, and it is hard to love him as much as I do when he doesn’t love me as much.” Kagome thought about how many times they had the chance to kiss or even hug and they didn’t. She had tried to show she wanted it but he just held back from it all. Riku stood ignoring the fact he was standing in the thinking Kagome. Standing on his toes he looked over the edge of the desk. “Why do you not love momma as much as she loves you?” One ear was twisted towards the demon Lord and the other lay off to the side and a single fang poked over the boy’s lip giving he a cute angelic look. “This one was under the impression that your Mother was not ready for the full attention of this one. I have been patient in my affections for my Mate.”Riku looked down at his mother and stepped to the side. “See momma, Daddy loves you.” “I guess he does.” Kagome muttered rubbing the sides of her head.“Okay, well love you momma, I see you tomorrow?”“Yes, I’ll come outside and watch you play. Tell Daddy I’m coming back.”“Okay.” The boy smiled and relayed the message before running out of the run laughing and almost singing.
Kagome began down the hall of her Mate’s mind, finding a door open Kagome looked in and let out a relieved sigh seeing it was the bedroom she has looking for. Walking over she flopped on the bed and groaned into the sheets. It seemed like no time had passed before two sets of feet walked across the floor and the door slammed with multiply clicks that Kagome figured were locks. A hand grabbed the back of her neck and a second pressed her right arm into the bed. “What did you tell the pup for him to question this one’s love for you?”After a muffled reply Kagome felt the hand move from her neck to fist in her hair. Her head was yanked up. “You heard his question. I just said that I loved you but felt that you didn’t love me as much as I loved you.” “Hn.” Sesshomaru looked to his side at his beast. Being almost one in the same he knew the feelings between them were the same. Tell us. If you love us, then why your anger?“Some people cover up their feelings with ones they think others will understand easier. You know that no matter how angry I get I would never leave you. I was hoping you would translate that into your way of understanding and realize that I loved you.”“Your reasoning is solid but did you not think that being forward would not suffice?” “If I was too forward you would think I was lying, which would lead to you breaking down my words and coming up with some dumb idea that has nothing to do with loving you.” Sesshomaru let off on his Mates arm and pulled her further up by the hair. Kagome moan not really feeling the pain as much as she should have. So tell us. Is it true?“Yes, I love you. I realized when we were sitting on the roof of the mall. I never wanted to sleep like I am, I just want to be a family. I want to wake up and see you every day until I die. I just want to be with you every moment I can. Shisuki said that we are busy in the future and I hope that we are busy being together and not separated. It hurt when you were sitting on the cliff and I couldn’t touch you. It hurt to watch knowing that I might only be able to watch you for 20 years; to never know your touch, to never see you smile or hear your laugh.” Tears were running down her cheeks when she finished confessing.Sesshomaru released his hold in shock. Kagome fell back into the bed but rolled over to look through her hair up at him. Shunkai moved up and placed a hand on Kagome’s shoulder, bending so he could pick her up and place her in the middle of the bed. He lay himself against her side closest to the windows and Sesshomaru lay on her other side closest to the door. “Did I hurt you?”Kagome shook her head. “No, I think it would normally, but I think that I can feel no pain when im like this. But I think if I get any damage it will transfer to my body.” “It is something to think about but we will not intentionally harm you.”“I can think of a few things I’d like to try, but I just wanna snuggle for now. We have 20 years to play around with.” Turning she lay her head on Sesshomaru’s bare chest and pressed her hips against Shunkai. Both males looked at each other before turning to envelope their mate in their bodies.
Kagome woke to the feel of something hard pressed to her back and something pressing against her thigh. Groaning she buried her face in the warm chest in front of her. Her body vibrated with the double rumble from the two bodies against her. “Not yet. Just a little longer. It’s not every day I get to see both of you at the same time, let alone share the same bed with two sexy demons.” Although she was wide awake and coherent, Kagome felt no need to watch her words knowing both demons knew how she truly felt. Sesshomaru and Shunkai shared a look over her body but left it alone for another hour. Shunkai licked the back of Kagome’s neck sending shivers down her body. Sesshomaru smiled as she pressed closer to him in a vain attempted to get away.“It is time to get up Kagome.”“Maybe for one of you, but I can spend 20 years like this.”You made a promise to the pup. Kagome groaned, rolling over onto her back she stretched arching off the bed. Knowing what could happen Kagome wasn’t too surprised when her body was attacked by Sesshomaru and Shunkai. First it was just hands and claws, and Kagome began to wonder if they really thought it was her or just their imagination. Sesshomaru was the first to lean down and take her breast in his mouth causing a moan almost scream from Kagome. Shunkai decided he liked the sound and copied his other half.Kagome wiggled on the bed not minding the emotions running through her and not really wanting them to stop. Two hands found the bundle of nerves between her legs. Draping a leg over each of her attackers, Kagome opened herself wider to their advances. “Wait. We can’t have more pups, I don’t know if I’ll get pregnant like this, hell I don’t even know if I can get injured and it’ll translate to my body like I was thinking.”We know mate, you can only become pregnant when you are in heat and when we choose, you are fine on both accounts. As for injury, it is the farthest thing from our mind.Kagome nodded and relaxed back into the bed. “Not that I’m trying to get you to stop but don’t one of you have to run off and take care of things?”“I have taken care of everything of importance. A barrier is around our room to insure we are not bothered.” Sesshomaru slipped a finger into his mate and smiled at the wetness he found. Adding a second he played a second before letting his other half take over and raising his wet fingers to his mate’s lips. “Open.” Kagome sealed her lips. She had never really taken to the idea of playing with herself, let alone tasting herself. It was distantly disgusting and not something she felt the urge to try. Hell even sex just a few months ago was a distant thought. “I will not ask again, open.” Kagome sealed herself off and closed her eyes. Taking a deep breath she finally did as told. Sesshomaru watched his mate wondering why she was so tense in the single idea of tasting herself. “Why do you flinch Mate?”Kagome shut her mouth and opened her eyes. “It is something I have no interest in doing. It is like you drinking yourself.”Sesshomaru thought about it. Across from it Shunkai seemed to be doing his own thinking but flinched at wherever his thoughts took him. Sesshomaru finally flinched too and licked his own fingers clean. “This one sees your point.”Agreed.Kagome nodded and reached out to lightly touch the cheeks of her mate and his beast. “I don’t deserve you.” Sex forgotten at the moment, Sesshomaru and Shunkai wrapped their tiny mate up between the two of them. They stayed like that for most of the morning.
Shunkai placed a barrier around his rooms before walking down the hall. It had been decided that since Kagome had spent most of the day with him yesterday, Sesshomaru should have no less. Kagome however was due for a play date shortly after dinner. One which he would oversee in the gardens. Walking into the dining room for lunch, Shunkai waved Rin down. “Do not worry Rin. You are too young to understand the things happening at the moments.” Taking his seat he was surprised when his brother entered in formal robes much like his own. “Tell me brother, where are your furs?”“Keh, Sango figured it would be better if I looked the part of a Prince then an outlaw. I’m trying to make an effort for Kagome. If dressing up keeps her safe then I’ll do it.”“Then let word carry that the Lost Prince has returned home.”“Keh.”Nodding his head in a bow Shunkai waited for the rest of the castle guests to join them. Not really knowing the buzz going around in the castle Shunkai let Inu Yasha fill him in, again surprised at what the hanyou knew.“We have to get rid of my Lady mother and the bastard. The people are torn between him and us.”“Indeed. We are at a loss at the moment. Kagome will be our main focus, and we will have to limit the threat to her. A second castle is at the edge of the lands farther down the coast, it should be adequate enough.”“We will not be leaving the castle until your Mate wakes.” Inu no Tashio stepped into the hall with his second mate on his arm. Izayoi looked slightly subdued in the light and almost slavish. “You will have no choice. I am Lord now and when Kagome wakes I will be Inu no Tashio and you will only be Kagumi, former Lord of the West. You, as Kagome pointed out, may have the title, but you have been long dead, and even you cannot match my power now.”“You are still a pup, I hardly see how you could match one of my stature.”
Everyone in the room felt the tension rising to an unbreathable level. Kagome watched with Sesshomaru from the recesses of the body she was visiting. He held her in his arms almost glowing with the pride that his father was falling from a grace he had raised his son to be. The west was a strong land, a land that Sesshomaru had built to be unstoppable, and now a land that his father was too weak to hold. His castle maybe split, but the people only knew of his rule and those who remembered his father would rather see the younger Inu in power any day.
“You are foolish pup.”“No, I am quite controlled in my assumptions. I believed that taking a human as a mate would make me weak, but I have found that it was you who was wrong. You took a normal human as a mate, a worthless defenseless bitch, where as I have taken a warrior Goddess Miko of legend. I will admit Sesshomaru was against the idea of me choosing such a disrespectful woman, but he has seen my wisdom and we accept her and have grown to love her. Even as we speak the Miko has found a way back to us, our bond may be cold in her sleep but it will burn when she wakes.”“Your mother was my mistake.” Everyone in the room stopped breathing. They were confused but even the children knew who was the bad guy in this situation. “Sango.” Inu Yasha spoke up. The slayer nodded and pushed the children into the kitchen and out of sight. Miroku stayed back nodding to Kagura she could leave with the children. “Mate, leave.”Inu Yasha flinched at his father’s voice towards his mother. The words were cruel and cold. Izayoi left however quickly running from the hall. “So again we battle? Will my sons turn against me again?”“Keh.” ”Yes.”
Kagome looked behind her where Sesshomaru lay clothed from only the waist down. He looked ready to fight. “I think I’m going to go make sure the kids are alright. There is something else going on here that needs found out. Find Riku when you deal with this mess and he’ll tell you what’s going on. If something happens I’ll send Kagura. Call me if you need me, and lower you barriers and I’ll help. Our bond can’t be used but there are other ways. ““Stay safe.” Kagome kiss Sesshomaru’s jaw and disappeared before he could do anything else.
Kagome looked over her shoulder and turned slightly as thunder rumbled thought the courtyard. The sky promised a rather nasty storm. Walking off deeper into the gardens, Kagome headed towards her family. Kagura had taken up a post playing with her fan, while Sango readied her own weapon should things go bad. Izayoi cuddled with Rin who looked uncomfortable in the woman’s arms. Shippo marched in front of the smaller children who looked to be taking a nap. Ruki looked up catching sight of Kagome as she rounded the fountain. “Momma.” Everyone turned to look only seeing a flash of light that was mistaken as a reflection off the water. Kagome smiled. “Riku tell everyone to follow you that I’m going to show you to a hiding spot. It’s going to rain.”The message was conveyed and with a little help from Izayoi the group headed to the South wall. Kagome pointed them to the tree she had found and the children quickly climbed in. Turning to Izayoi she watched the woman. “What did he do?”“I can not say.” Looking down at the ground in shame Izayoi tried to avoid the question.“Did he take you against your will?”Looking up in shock Izayoi realized she had said all there needed to be said. Kagome growled. “He’s not talking to the Gods, he plotting against them. Isn’t he.”Again nothing was said. Kagome looked back at the castle barely seeing the two dogs fighting in the courtyard.
Shusuki placed a hand on his brother’s shoulder and they drew swords. Pushing Inu no Tashio out of the hall and outside, the brothers took the defensive. “You will both die,” the elder Inu cried before shifting into his true form. The great white dog towered over his sons looking at them with battle lust in his eyes. It was promising to be a bloody battle if not a deadly one.
A howl pierced the day and Kagome turned ready for anything, almost forgetting she was no help. “I’ve heard that call one to many times.” Sango muttered in horror. Catching sight of her husband Sango hurried to him. “Sesshomaru and his father are battling but Inu Yasha is slowly losing it.” The monk was panting. “Kyade is still in the castle, she’s in the medical wing. She might be able to help us calm Inu Yasha down enough.”Kagome listened and finally she turned to Izayoi. “The children believe I am here in spirit, no one is going to listen to Riku. Tell everyone to stay here, and not to return to the castle, if we start breaking up things could get worse. Shunkai and I can deal with Inu Yasha.” Kagome disappeared leaving no room for questions.
Kagome stood at the highest point on the castle watching the battle. Shunkai was agile and quick but his enemy was right no top of him almost. Inu no Tashio was aiming for the throat and a kill bite. Inu Yasha had once again broken the Tetsiga and was fighting both himself and his father. Kagome was at a loss of what to do. She knew she wouldn’t be able to return to her mate’s mind without the opening in his barriers, but she also know that if Inu Yasha didn’t focus on defeating his father then he would kill everything. “I can’t ‘it him because he might get trampled. But I need a way to get to Sesshomaru. Everyone needs to stay together, so I’m on my own.”Kagome looked around for anything that could help but thankfully she didn’t have to look long. Inu no Tashio had pinned Shunkai on his back and was attempting to rip his throat out. Taking a running start Kagome jumped from her place, just as she was about to pass through her mate, his barriers dropped and Kagome found herself laying on the bed breathing hard.
“You we even want to know?” Sesshomaru asked from his place at the windows. “Jumped from the roof.” Kagome rolled off the bed. “Inu Yasha can’t help he’s losing control, Tetsiga is broken. You need to get him focused on fighting with you or else he’ll go after everyone he sees.”“As soon as we break away we do as much as we can.”“If Inu Yasha can give you even a moment to break away, I can give you everything my physical body is containing. I don’t know what will happen but at least everyone will be safe.”“You will not die.”“No but I may become trapped in my body for the rest of the time I’m like this.”“Would you risk it?” Sesshomaru looked back at his mate. “Would you risk our pups, to Inu Yasha or even your father? Twenty years will be a long time but it’s not forever.”“I believe we have heard that meaning before. It still brings a pain to these ones.”“Hn.” Kagome wrapped her arms around the demon Lord’s waist and took in his scent.
Shunkai kicked at the belly of the dog on top of him effectively throwing the Inu past the wall and into the forest. Quickly shifting back to his human form he yelled at Inu Yasha who was kneeling on the ground. “Kagome is with us. She wants you to turn your rage towards our enemy. She and I will finish this but we need a distraction.”A snarl was the only response but Shunkai nodded knowing he had been heard. Leaping behind the hanyou and almost against the castle, Shunkai turned himself inward and stared down the line to his other half and his mate.
“We do not have long.” Already aware of the battle between dog and hanyou, Shunkai made sure to avoid getting hit. “Sesshomaru you need to take my blood and follow the tie back to my body. When you get there everything I have that isn’t going into those brought back or whatever, is yours. The Gods deemed me Goddess of balance, so save part of that magic for Inu Yasha, once Inu no Tashio is dealt with feed Inu Yasha the magic, hopefully his bloods will balance out.” Kagome swept her hair to the side and bared her neck, willing the clothing she had created, away. Sesshomaru stared at his Mate feeling desire well in his body, physically and mentally. Stepping up to his mate he took her gently in his arms and brushed her hair further back.“And remember to check on my physical body after this, you might need to bandage me or something.”“We will tend you Mate. We love you and hope this will not take you from us.” Sesshomaru hesitated only a moment before his fangs sunk into the mating mark on his mate. Kagome gasped suddenly finding it hard to breath as everything that was Sesshomaru only, swept through her body and down the tie that held her to her body. Just before he hit her energy she felt the darkness closing over her, and when the energy welled up inside her and left her she felt nothing.
Sesshomaru pushed the energy he was feeling out and Shunkai aimed it at the towering Inu. The purifying energy was the hardest to control but after a quick adjustment the energy fell leaving nothing of the great Inu. The rain began to pour and Shunkai and Sesshomaru turned towards the hanyou. Inu Yasha was kneeling in the mud snarling into the sky and rain. As told, Shunkai and Sesshomaru directed the God like power Kagome held towards their brother and watched as said person fell asleep face first in the mud. Moments later they too fell unconscious unsure of where their mate had disappeared after her body was drained.
Kagome felt like she was floating. It was a liquid darkness that had taken over everything. Her body was frozen in one position, but thankfully it wasn’t too awkward. Everything was numb, almost to the point Kagome wondered if she still had a body.
Sesshomaru woke next to his Mate’s body. He was sore and stiff. Looking inside his mind he was disappointed to find that his mate wasn’t there. Almost painfully Sesshomaru moved his mate’s hair to the side exposing the healing bite mark. Stroking Kagome’s face Sesshomaru placed a gentle kiss on her forehead.
Inu Yasha groaned through his headache. “Ye do not wish to move Inu Yasha, ye are still healing.” Kyade advised. “I feel like i got sat a hundred times over.”“I can assure ye, Kagome did not use the beads against ye, however ye can be assured that Kagome had a hand in ye’s troubles.”“Figures, the wench is always finding ways to do something stupid.”Kyade looked over at her patient and shook her head. Taking the mirror handed to her by her assistant, Kyade held it in front of Inu Yasha. Rubbing his head Inu Yasha looked at his reflection. “What the fuck did she do?” Inu Yasha howled. He looked like Sesshomaru with a few changes. He had a crescent moon on his forehead, the red moon facing upwards so that the points were up. In addition to the moon his demon markings were present and ran down his body. “Kagome would be the only one who could answer ye.”“Shit Kagome.” Inu Yasha leapt from the bed and left the wing headed straight for his brother and Kagome. Sesshomaru was just closing the bedroom door when Inu Yasha skid to a stop in front of him. They stared at each other for a moment before Sesshomaru sighed and opened the door to his room again. They entered but as soon as the door closed Inu Yasha spun around. “How is she?”“I don’t know. She disappeared soon after she gave us her power.” Sesshomaru motioned to a chair beside the bed and Inu Yasha took it, falling into the seat. “Keh, what did she do to me?”“She has recently become the Goddess of Balance and a few other things, my orders before we started was to help you balance your blood.”“I remember parts of the fight, but not all of it. Then I woke up with the old hag.”“Hn.” Sesshomaru sat down on the bed mindful not to disturb his Mate.“Why does it smell like blood?”“It is of no concern to you.” Sesshomaru finally said growing tired of all the questions. “I think it is. You’ve hurt Kagome over and over, I’m not just going to watch.” Inu Yasha stood standing in front of Sesshomaru angry.“Do not question me. Kagome is the one how offered and she is the one who sacrificed herself. You would be dead most likely if not for her; our father could be still alive. Do not question this one’s choices.”“Wait what?” Inu Yasha finally backed away from the irate demon Lord. “The old hag mentioned this was Kagome’s doing.” Motioning to himself.“This one will not go into detail, but Kagome asked that part of her remaining power be given to you in hopes of balancing your blood. This one and she herself did not know what would happen.”“So it is her fault.” Inu Yasha accused still unsure of his changes.Sesshomaru didn’t say anything, not finding a valid defense for his Mate.
The children had been sent to their respective rooms and brought lunch. Izayoi had been to see if any damage had been done when she had been raped. Kagura and Sango talked with the guards and the South wall had even more people posted on it. Miroku had taken to the library in search of something that could help, even if it was a barrier. The four pups that were with wet nurses were taken to an inner sanctuary where they were surrounded with their father’s smell and many of Kagome’s robes.
Kagome sighed and closed her eyes. Something about this place was grating on her nerves. Maybe it was the silence, or just the fact she couldn’t move. Thinking to herself was in ways silent. Finally deciding to do something if anything, Kagome tried to create something to fill the emptiness around her.After what seemed like forever, Kagome gave up. Wherever she was wasn’t a place she could bend to her will.

Books scattered the floor, some even shredded in anger as the Demon Lord poured over his search for any answers.Kagome watched in pain as her Mate worried over books in hopes of helping her. Taking the quill at his side and dipping it in ink she began: Pack comes dinner, pups need you, I fine, still watch over, keep promise I keep mine…Setting the quill down Kagome felt the energy leaving her and the exhaustion fill its place, setting a hand on his cheek she sighed as it only passed through him. Sesshomaru picked up the parchment and stared at the words. He had forgotten in pack in his pain, but it was the final five words that repeated in his mind even when he lost focus. The book he had been holding had slipped from his fingers. Kagome watched her mate noticing he had zoned out. Wondering if she could slip into his mind she focused.
Kagome looked around the dark abyss not even seeing a floor beneath her. “Hello?”“You have fallen into my trap, state why you are here before I decide you are not worth my time.” Kagome shivered at the anger in her mate’s voice. “Sesshomaru? Shunkai? Izayoi said that I could touch your mind and we could talk better like this then me having to exhaust myself writing things.” Looking around Kagome found what could only be described as a prison window. She couldn’t see the dark face that peeked through the window but she had to hold up a hand to shield her eyes from the light once the figure moved. It was moment later that Kagome saw the outline of a door. It opened spilling light into her prison. “Kagome?”“It’s me. You were shocked at my note I tried again to enter you mind. Like I said Izayoi said that we could talk and I could spend some of my time here in your mind with you. I’ve found out watching over our pack on their way here that only Izayoi and a single pup can see me. I had an accident and drew power from the living things around me and flashed into sight, however it will take weeks if not longer for the area to get its essence back. I’d rather just crash here for a while. I mean I’m stuck like this for 20 years. Which from what I was told, you or someone at least, has to find the trick to waking me up, which will take twenty years.”“Come then, we will fit you with an area so that you may ‘see’ what is happening.”Kagome stepped out of the black void into the mind of her mate she had seen before. Walls were placed creating rooms down a hallway. It was much like a never ending hotel hall. Each door had its own little difference to it that seemed to be her mate’s way of organizing whatever it was he was organizing. “I’m sorry about everything.” Kagome rubbed her arms walking down the hall after Shunkai. “We are not so worried now that we know you are still with us. Your messages have brought little comfort to us. It was believed that you had been locked in your mind, or worse cast out and lost to us forever.” Shunkai turned to look at Kagome and sighed. Her discomfort and pain was evident in the small actions she was doing, such as rubbing her arms. Walking back to his mate Shunkai wrapped her in his arms and placed his chin on her head. Kagome pressed against him and cried into his chest. Picking up his mate he cradled her against his chest as he finished walking down the hall. He opened what seemed to Kagome a simple red and blue door. Inside was a wall with two windows and a bed. “We’ll stay here until Sesshomaru can get a minute away. A shrine is being built at the inner most part of the castle and parts of the castle are being reinforced for easier protection. We were so focused on you actually falling asleep for these 2 centuries that we failed to find out how to keep your body safe.” Shunkai laid Kagome down on the bed. “Will you stay here with me? I kinda just want physical contact. This whole day had been hard because anything I try and touch I just go right through.” Kagome looked sheepish. “Alright. Will you explain how you wrote your messages though?” Shunkai sat at the head of the bed and leaned against the head board. He pulled her body up the bed and allowed her to rest her head in his lap. “It takes a lot to strength, right now most of the power I’m regaining is still going back to everyone we brought back plus Kyade, but I just reach out and start writing. I mean I can’t really explain it.” “You are giving energy to the older miko?” The new information was a surprise.“Ya, she’s getting younger, when she gets here you’ll see. They were taking a break about 4 hours away from the castle, but with the breaks they are taking for the children and Kyade I figure they will be here in time for dinner.”“Are you hungry?”“Yes and no. I feel that I should be but I’m not. I mean I ate breakfast and dinner last night, but it’s like my body doesn’t need the food.”“Hn. The pups rooms have been reinforced and other rooms have been prepared, we will make sure that dinner tonight will be large enough to feed everyone.”“Thank you mate, and again I am sorry for this. At least though, we are still together.” “Thank the gods for that. We have a clearer mind knowing that we will be able to see you and talk.”Kagome smiled and curling into Shunkai’s legs gripping his thigh. “One more thing before I take a nap. Why is it I am always naked when I visit?”Shunkai left out a rolling laugh that caused Kagome to shiver. “Why does it bother you so?”“Because it feel like this is all you want from me, as stupid as it seems I feel more respected with my clothes, as small or skimpy they maybe, then not having any at all, even if it is just you seeing me. Sleeping is one thing, but just walking around here in your mind, it is awkward.”“You have always had the power to dress yourself, we do not choose to have you in such a way it is your choice.”“You mean to tell me the two times I have visited you, it has been my choice if I wear clothes or not and what I wear?”“Yes.” Brushing a stray bit of hair from his mate’s face Shunkai sighed. Kagome thought about it for a second before letting out a sigh and just giving up. Closing her eyes Kagome allowed herself to sink into the comfort of the bed and a relaxed state. She wasn’t really asleep but she wasn’t awake either.
Inu Yasha watched the children chase each other around the clearing, realizing one was missing he looked around and found the boy sitting at the base of the tree he was in. Rolling off his perch Inu Yasha landed softly next to the boy. “Riku, why don’t you go play with the others?” The boy looked up with his ears pinned to his head. “Momma?” Inu Yasha flinch. Kagome sure had gotten to the hearts of these kids fast, but now she wasn’t here. Looking around at the rest of the adults, most of which we’re napping in the sun, Inu Yasha shook his head. They would be leaving shortly but even Inu Yasha knew the last few miles would seem to go on forever. “You can see your momma when we get to the castle. She’s being kept safe there.” Inu Yasha pulled the pup into his lap and set him so they could watch the others. Leaning into the tree Inu Yasha listened to everything going on. Those in the group not napping we’re either rechecking supplies or keeping a perimeter so that if a lower level demon did burst into camp it didn’t harm anyone.
Sesshomaru let out a calm sigh, at the moment Jaken was watching over Kagome and the rest of the staff was setting barriers and fixing walls so that they could defend his mate should anyone attack. He had sent out word to each of the other 3 Lords of a very vague explanation so that they didn’t believe he was preparing for an attack. He had already gotten word back from the North, though it was no surprise, since the wolves had brief contact with his brother’s pack. Prince Koga had asked to visit and Sesshomaru had asked for a weeks’ time before anyone visited. He didn’t trust the wolves but thanks to Kagome he knew as long as it involved her, the North would be on his side. The South was still in a political war and though he had yet to get a return on his message, he knew they would be no threat to him. Their numbers were less than a quarter of his, and no doubt he and Inu Yasha could easily defend the castle alone. But it was the East he was more worried about. They tended to strike first and ask questions afterwards. He had a treaty with them; however, even he wasn’t as stupid as to believe that would keep his lands safe. Checking on preparations for dinner, he broke part of the guard off and sent Kagome’s fire horse, Aries, to meet his pack. The escort would put his mind to ease knowing his father was with them and had been anything but helpful. The humans of the group could fight but with the number of pups it was an easy target. Finally sitting down in his study Sesshomaru looked into his mind to check on his Mate and beast. Finding both cuddled up and relaxing he left them to finish his neglected work.
As told, Inu Yasha showed up with everyone moments before dinner. Ordering baths for everyone and putting a hold on dinner, Sesshomaru let out a sigh. Rin gave his leg a hug before pulling a line of girls after her. Shippo pulled his own line the opposite way and down the hall. Inu Yasha dismissed their escort and pointed everyone towards their wings of the castle before sitting down at the table.“I see that you have more guards on the wall.” Inu Yasha pushed his hair back off his face. “Yes, I have also notified the other Lords so we do not get attacked. Kagome’s body is being guarded in our room as we speak.”“I seen her ghost at lunch. I started to turn because of the stress and anger. Riku and my Lady-mother were yelling for Kagome and at me and then the next thing I know everything around us is dying and I can see Kagome. It was only for a second but it brought me back. Did something happen?”“Kagome is not in her body. I do not know how or why, but she has visited me and has relayed messages to me. As of now she has broken through my mental barriers and is relaxing with my beast.”“Never a normal day with her.” Inu Yasha snorted.
Everyone ate a silent dinner. Once the dishes were cleared. It was Riku how spoke up from his place at Inu Yasha’s side. Tugging the older hanyou’s sleeve he almost yelled, “Momma.”Sesshomaru held the goblet to his lips and raised an eyebrow. Inu Yasha pulled the pup into his lap and whispered into the boy’s ear. “We’ll go see her together when we adults finish talking.” “Promise.” Inu Yasha growled at the pup’s memory. “Alright. Give me a minute.” Turning to his brother Inu Yasha redirected the conversation. “Can we go see Kagome? Riku wants to talk to her, and the pups would take comfort in it.” Sesshomaru stood and gave a single nod. Nodding to a waiting servant he left the room leading the line of children. Inu Yasha held the hand of Riku all the way up to where Kagome lay. Once Sesshomaru opened the door the heard of children they seemed to flood the bed. Riku took one look into the room and tears welled in his eyes. “Momma not here.” He wailed. The other children ignored him getting use to his odd behavior. Sesshomaru looked down at the hanyou attached to his brother. Inu Yasha seeing the look on Sesshomaru’s face explained. “Riku and my Lady-mother can see Kagome. I don’t know how but they talk to her and things.”“Hn.” Sesshomaru turned from the room and motion the two to follow him. Entering his study Sesshomaru sat down and motioned the two to sit. It took only a second to reach his beast and Kagome.
“You are needed by your son.” Sesshomaru stood next to the bed looking down at the two in envy. Kagome will stay. Here we can watch over her. Kagome listened to the two argue for a few more moments before letting out a sigh and turning over to look at the two. “Are you two always like this?” They looked at her in confusion. “As long as you keep your mental barriers down enough so I can slip in, I can come back. Now what pup needs me? I know our pups are being tended to by a wet-mother, even if I don’t like the idea.”“You have left little else open. However we will tend to any other needs of our pups once they are old enough. The bitches tending them now are for food and changing only. It will last only 5 months roughly.” Sesshomaru sat on the edge on the bed. “Hn.” Kagome sat up and crawled to Sesshomaru. He took her and pulled her into his lap burying his nose in her neck and hair. “The pup Riku is in need of your presents.” Sesshomaru muttered turned on by her scent. “Alright, give me a quarter of an hour and I will return.” Barring her neck Kagome let him lick the exposed flesh before jumping from his mind into the study where they all sat. Her appearance was noticed by the crying pup. “Momma!” Scrambling out of the hold of Inu Yasha the pup stopped inches from her skirts. Kagome knelt and smiled. “Have you been good?” She asked sitting against the desk of her mate. “Yes. Inu says to tell you to hurry your ass back before the bastard has a cow.” Riku said innocently. Kagome looked over at the extremely pale male and smiled. Behind her she heard her Mate growling. “Really? Well you can tell Inu not to worry that momma is taking care of everything.” Riku sat down in her lap not minding that she passed though him. “Momma say not worry.” Riku said to the hanyou in front of him. Under her breath Kagome mutter ‘sit’ and smiled as the spell activated without need of her energy. Riku laughed as Inu Yasha fell into the floor and behind the desk Sesshomaru snorted. “Are you alright Riku?”“Yes. Inu has been nice and everyone ignores me, Shippo and Rin play sometimes with me but they want to know why I talk to myself.”“Well does it bother you that no one wants to play because you talk to momma?” Kagome bit her bottom lip realizing her being around might not be such a good idea. “No, I like being with Inu. He thinks I don’t know things but I know. Like you sleeping. I know it’s not forever and everyone else thinks you’re going to wake up for the next meal or after you has lots of sleep. Just like I see things. Like how you love daddy, and how he loves you but you don’t wanna see it because he has to live up to what everyone wants to see.”Kagome remained silent, even Inu Yasha didn’t pick himself up from the floor. “That is very watchful of you baby, but Daddy and I are working things out together. You’re right I do love him, but there are some things that happened before I found you that we have to keep in mind. Things will fall into place like they are meant to.”“But Momma, if you love daddy why do you never act like it?”Sesshomaru leaned forward on his desk wishing very hard he could hear the other side of the pup’s conversation. Kagome thought about her answer and finally let out a sigh. “Because Daddy is a hard person to love, and it is hard to love him as much as I do when he doesn’t love me as much.” Kagome thought about how many times they had the chance to kiss or even hug and they didn’t. She had tried to show she wanted it but he just held back from it all. Riku stood ignoring the fact he was standing in the thinking Kagome. Standing on his toes he looked over the edge of the desk. “Why do you not love momma as much as she loves you?” One ear was twisted towards the demon Lord and the other lay off to the side and a single fang poked over the boy’s lip giving he a cute angelic look. “This one was under the impression that your Mother was not ready for the full attention of this one. I have been patient in my affections for my Mate.”Riku looked down at his mother and stepped to the side. “See momma, Daddy loves you.” “I guess he does.” Kagome muttered rubbing the sides of her head.“Okay, well love you momma, I see you tomorrow?”“Yes, I’ll come outside and watch you play. Tell Daddy I’m coming back.”“Okay.” The boy smiled and relayed the message before running out of the run laughing and almost singing.
Kagome began down the hall of her Mate’s mind, finding a door open Kagome looked in and let out a relieved sigh seeing it was the bedroom she has looking for. Walking over she flopped on the bed and groaned into the sheets. It seemed like no time had passed before two sets of feet walked across the floor and the door slammed with multiply clicks that Kagome figured were locks. A hand grabbed the back of her neck and a second pressed her right arm into the bed. “What did you tell the pup for him to question this one’s love for you?”After a muffled reply Kagome felt the hand move from her neck to fist in her hair. Her head was yanked up. “You heard his question. I just said that I loved you but felt that you didn’t love me as much as I loved you.” “Hn.” Sesshomaru looked to his side at his beast. Being almost one in the same he knew the feelings between them were the same. Tell us. If you love us, then why your anger?“Some people cover up their feelings with ones they think others will understand easier. You know that no matter how angry I get I would never leave you. I was hoping you would translate that into your way of understanding and realize that I loved you.”“Your reasoning is solid but did you not think that being forward would not suffice?” “If I was too forward you would think I was lying, which would lead to you breaking down my words and coming up with some dumb idea that has nothing to do with loving you.” Sesshomaru let off on his Mates arm and pulled her further up by the hair. Kagome moan not really feeling the pain as much as she should have. So tell us. Is it true?“Yes, I love you. I realized when we were sitting on the roof of the mall. I never wanted to sleep like I am, I just want to be a family. I want to wake up and see you every day until I die. I just want to be with you every moment I can. Shisuki said that we are busy in the future and I hope that we are busy being together and not separated. It hurt when you were sitting on the cliff and I couldn’t touch you. It hurt to watch knowing that I might only be able to watch you for 20 years; to never know your touch, to never see you smile or hear your laugh.” Tears were running down her cheeks when she finished confessing.Sesshomaru released his hold in shock. Kagome fell back into the bed but rolled over to look through her hair up at him. Shunkai moved up and placed a hand on Kagome’s shoulder, bending so he could pick her up and place her in the middle of the bed. He lay himself against her side closest to the windows and Sesshomaru lay on her other side closest to the door. “Did I hurt you?”Kagome shook her head. “No, I think it would normally, but I think that I can feel no pain when im like this. But I think if I get any damage it will transfer to my body.” “It is something to think about but we will not intentionally harm you.”“I can think of a few things I’d like to try, but I just wanna snuggle for now. We have 20 years to play around with.” Turning she lay her head on Sesshomaru’s bare chest and pressed her hips against Shunkai. Both males looked at each other before turning to envelope their mate in their bodies.
Kagome woke to the feel of something hard pressed to her back and something pressing against her thigh. Groaning she buried her face in the warm chest in front of her. Her body vibrated with the double rumble from the two bodies against her. “Not yet. Just a little longer. It’s not every day I get to see both of you at the same time, let alone share the same bed with two sexy demons.” Although she was wide awake and coherent, Kagome felt no need to watch her words knowing both demons knew how she truly felt. Sesshomaru and Shunkai shared a look over her body but left it alone for another hour. Shunkai licked the back of Kagome’s neck sending shivers down her body. Sesshomaru smiled as she pressed closer to him in a vain attempted to get away.“It is time to get up Kagome.”“Maybe for one of you, but I can spend 20 years like this.”You made a promise to the pup. Kagome groaned, rolling over onto her back she stretched arching off the bed. Knowing what could happen Kagome wasn’t too surprised when her body was attacked by Sesshomaru and Shunkai. First it was just hands and claws, and Kagome began to wonder if they really thought it was her or just their imagination. Sesshomaru was the first to lean down and take her breast in his mouth causing a moan almost scream from Kagome. Shunkai decided he liked the sound and copied his other half.Kagome wiggled on the bed not minding the emotions running through her and not really wanting them to stop. Two hands found the bundle of nerves between her legs. Draping a leg over each of her attackers, Kagome opened herself wider to their advances. “Wait. We can’t have more pups, I don’t know if I’ll get pregnant like this, hell I don’t even know if I can get injured and it’ll translate to my body like I was thinking.”We know mate, you can only become pregnant when you are in heat and when we choose, you are fine on both accounts. As for injury, it is the farthest thing from our mind.Kagome nodded and relaxed back into the bed. “Not that I’m trying to get you to stop but don’t one of you have to run off and take care of things?”“I have taken care of everything of importance. A barrier is around our room to insure we are not bothered.” Sesshomaru slipped a finger into his mate and smiled at the wetness he found. Adding a second he played a second before letting his other half take over and raising his wet fingers to his mate’s lips. “Open.” Kagome sealed her lips. She had never really taken to the idea of playing with herself, let alone tasting herself. It was distantly disgusting and not something she felt the urge to try. Hell even sex just a few months ago was a distant thought. “I will not ask again, open.” Kagome sealed herself off and closed her eyes. Taking a deep breath she finally did as told. Sesshomaru watched his mate wondering why she was so tense in the single idea of tasting herself. “Why do you flinch Mate?”Kagome shut her mouth and opened her eyes. “It is something I have no interest in doing. It is like you drinking yourself.”Sesshomaru thought about it. Across from it Shunkai seemed to be doing his own thinking but flinched at wherever his thoughts took him. Sesshomaru finally flinched too and licked his own fingers clean. “This one sees your point.”Agreed.Kagome nodded and reached out to lightly touch the cheeks of her mate and his beast. “I don’t deserve you.” Sex forgotten at the moment, Sesshomaru and Shunkai wrapped their tiny mate up between the two of them. They stayed like that for most of the morning.
Shunkai placed a barrier around his rooms before walking down the hall. It had been decided that since Kagome had spent most of the day with him yesterday, Sesshomaru should have no less. Kagome however was due for a play date shortly after dinner. One which he would oversee in the gardens. Walking into the dining room for lunch, Shunkai waved Rin down. “Do not worry Rin. You are too young to understand the things happening at the moments.” Taking his seat he was surprised when his brother entered in formal robes much like his own. “Tell me brother, where are your furs?”“Keh, Sango figured it would be better if I looked the part of a Prince then an outlaw. I’m trying to make an effort for Kagome. If dressing up keeps her safe then I’ll do it.”“Then let word carry that the Lost Prince has returned home.”“Keh.”Nodding his head in a bow Shunkai waited for the rest of the castle guests to join them. Not really knowing the buzz going around in the castle Shunkai let Inu Yasha fill him in, again surprised at what the hanyou knew.“We have to get rid of my Lady mother and the bastard. The people are torn between him and us.”“Indeed. We are at a loss at the moment. Kagome will be our main focus, and we will have to limit the threat to her. A second castle is at the edge of the lands farther down the coast, it should be adequate enough.”“We will not be leaving the castle until your Mate wakes.” Inu no Tashio stepped into the hall with his second mate on his arm. Izayoi looked slightly subdued in the light and almost slavish. “You will have no choice. I am Lord now and when Kagome wakes I will be Inu no Tashio and you will only be Kagumi, former Lord of the West. You, as Kagome pointed out, may have the title, but you have been long dead, and even you cannot match my power now.”“You are still a pup, I hardly see how you could match one of my stature.”
Everyone in the room felt the tension rising to an unbreathable level. Kagome watched with Sesshomaru from the recesses of the body she was visiting. He held her in his arms almost glowing with the pride that his father was falling from a grace he had raised his son to be. The west was a strong land, a land that Sesshomaru had built to be unstoppable, and now a land that his father was too weak to hold. His castle maybe split, but the people only knew of his rule and those who remembered his father would rather see the younger Inu in power any day.
“You are foolish pup.”“No, I am quite controlled in my assumptions. I believed that taking a human as a mate would make me weak, but I have found that it was you who was wrong. You took a normal human as a mate, a worthless defenseless bitch, where as I have taken a warrior Goddess Miko of legend. I will admit Sesshomaru was against the idea of me choosing such a disrespectful woman, but he has seen my wisdom and we accept her and have grown to love her. Even as we speak the Miko has found a way back to us, our bond may be cold in her sleep but it will burn when she wakes.”“Your mother was my mistake.” Everyone in the room stopped breathing. They were confused but even the children knew who was the bad guy in this situation. “Sango.” Inu Yasha spoke up. The slayer nodded and pushed the children into the kitchen and out of sight. Miroku stayed back nodding to Kagura she could leave with the children. “Mate, leave.”Inu Yasha flinched at his father’s voice towards his mother. The words were cruel and cold. Izayoi left however quickly running from the hall. “So again we battle? Will my sons turn against me again?”“Keh.” ”Yes.”
Kagome looked behind her where Sesshomaru lay clothed from only the waist down. He looked ready to fight. “I think I’m going to go make sure the kids are alright. There is something else going on here that needs found out. Find Riku when you deal with this mess and he’ll tell you what’s going on. If something happens I’ll send Kagura. Call me if you need me, and lower you barriers and I’ll help. Our bond can’t be used but there are other ways. ““Stay safe.” Kagome kiss Sesshomaru’s jaw and disappeared before he could do anything else.
Kagome looked over her shoulder and turned slightly as thunder rumbled thought the courtyard. The sky promised a rather nasty storm. Walking off deeper into the gardens, Kagome headed towards her family. Kagura had taken up a post playing with her fan, while Sango readied her own weapon should things go bad. Izayoi cuddled with Rin who looked uncomfortable in the woman’s arms. Shippo marched in front of the smaller children who looked to be taking a nap. Ruki looked up catching sight of Kagome as she rounded the fountain. “Momma.” Everyone turned to look only seeing a flash of light that was mistaken as a reflection off the water. Kagome smiled. “Riku tell everyone to follow you that I’m going to show you to a hiding spot. It’s going to rain.”The message was conveyed and with a little help from Izayoi the group headed to the South wall. Kagome pointed them to the tree she had found and the children quickly climbed in. Turning to Izayoi she watched the woman. “What did he do?”“I can not say.” Looking down at the ground in shame Izayoi tried to avoid the question.“Did he take you against your will?”Looking up in shock Izayoi realized she had said all there needed to be said. Kagome growled. “He’s not talking to the Gods, he plotting against them. Isn’t he.”Again nothing was said. Kagome looked back at the castle barely seeing the two dogs fighting in the courtyard.
Shusuki placed a hand on his brother’s shoulder and they drew swords. Pushing Inu no Tashio out of the hall and outside, the brothers took the defensive. “You will both die,” the elder Inu cried before shifting into his true form. The great white dog towered over his sons looking at them with battle lust in his eyes. It was promising to be a bloody battle if not a deadly one.
A howl pierced the day and Kagome turned ready for anything, almost forgetting she was no help. “I’ve heard that call one to many times.” Sango muttered in horror. Catching sight of her husband Sango hurried to him. “Sesshomaru and his father are battling but Inu Yasha is slowly losing it.” The monk was panting. “Kyade is still in the castle, she’s in the medical wing. She might be able to help us calm Inu Yasha down enough.”Kagome listened and finally she turned to Izayoi. “The children believe I am here in spirit, no one is going to listen to Riku. Tell everyone to stay here, and not to return to the castle, if we start breaking up things could get worse. Shunkai and I can deal with Inu Yasha.” Kagome disappeared leaving no room for questions.
Kagome stood at the highest point on the castle watching the battle. Shunkai was agile and quick but his enemy was right no top of him almost. Inu no Tashio was aiming for the throat and a kill bite. Inu Yasha had once again broken the Tetsiga and was fighting both himself and his father. Kagome was at a loss of what to do. She knew she wouldn’t be able to return to her mate’s mind without the opening in his barriers, but she also know that if Inu Yasha didn’t focus on defeating his father then he would kill everything. “I can’t ‘it him because he might get trampled. But I need a way to get to Sesshomaru. Everyone needs to stay together, so I’m on my own.”Kagome looked around for anything that could help but thankfully she didn’t have to look long. Inu no Tashio had pinned Shunkai on his back and was attempting to rip his throat out. Taking a running start Kagome jumped from her place, just as she was about to pass through her mate, his barriers dropped and Kagome found herself laying on the bed breathing hard.
“You we even want to know?” Sesshomaru asked from his place at the windows. “Jumped from the roof.” Kagome rolled off the bed. “Inu Yasha can’t help he’s losing control, Tetsiga is broken. You need to get him focused on fighting with you or else he’ll go after everyone he sees.”“As soon as we break away we do as much as we can.”“If Inu Yasha can give you even a moment to break away, I can give you everything my physical body is containing. I don’t know what will happen but at least everyone will be safe.”“You will not die.”“No but I may become trapped in my body for the rest of the time I’m like this.”“Would you risk it?” Sesshomaru looked back at his mate. “Would you risk our pups, to Inu Yasha or even your father? Twenty years will be a long time but it’s not forever.”“I believe we have heard that meaning before. It still brings a pain to these ones.”“Hn.” Kagome wrapped her arms around the demon Lord’s waist and took in his scent.
Shunkai kicked at the belly of the dog on top of him effectively throwing the Inu past the wall and into the forest. Quickly shifting back to his human form he yelled at Inu Yasha who was kneeling on the ground. “Kagome is with us. She wants you to turn your rage towards our enemy. She and I will finish this but we need a distraction.”A snarl was the only response but Shunkai nodded knowing he had been heard. Leaping behind the hanyou and almost against the castle, Shunkai turned himself inward and stared down the line to his other half and his mate.
“We do not have long.” Already aware of the battle between dog and hanyou, Shunkai made sure to avoid getting hit. “Sesshomaru you need to take my blood and follow the tie back to my body. When you get there everything I have that isn’t going into those brought back or whatever, is yours. The Gods deemed me Goddess of balance, so save part of that magic for Inu Yasha, once Inu no Tashio is dealt with feed Inu Yasha the magic, hopefully his bloods will balance out.” Kagome swept her hair to the side and bared her neck, willing the clothing she had created, away. Sesshomaru stared at his Mate feeling desire well in his body, physically and mentally. Stepping up to his mate he took her gently in his arms and brushed her hair further back.“And remember to check on my physical body after this, you might need to bandage me or something.”“We will tend you Mate. We love you and hope this will not take you from us.” Sesshomaru hesitated only a moment before his fangs sunk into the mating mark on his mate. Kagome gasped suddenly finding it hard to breath as everything that was Sesshomaru only, swept through her body and down the tie that held her to her body. Just before he hit her energy she felt the darkness closing over her, and when the energy welled up inside her and left her she felt nothing.
Sesshomaru pushed the energy he was feeling out and Shunkai aimed it at the towering Inu. The purifying energy was the hardest to control but after a quick adjustment the energy fell leaving nothing of the great Inu. The rain began to pour and Shunkai and Sesshomaru turned towards the hanyou. Inu Yasha was kneeling in the mud snarling into the sky and rain. As told, Shunkai and Sesshomaru directed the God like power Kagome held towards their brother and watched as said person fell asleep face first in the mud. Moments later they too fell unconscious unsure of where their mate had disappeared after her body was drained.
Kagome felt like she was floating. It was a liquid darkness that had taken over everything. Her body was frozen in one position, but thankfully it wasn’t too awkward. Everything was numb, almost to the point Kagome wondered if she still had a body.
Sesshomaru woke next to his Mate’s body. He was sore and stiff. Looking inside his mind he was disappointed to find that his mate wasn’t there. Almost painfully Sesshomaru moved his mate’s hair to the side exposing the healing bite mark. Stroking Kagome’s face Sesshomaru placed a gentle kiss on her forehead.
Inu Yasha groaned through his headache. “Ye do not wish to move Inu Yasha, ye are still healing.” Kyade advised. “I feel like i got sat a hundred times over.”“I can assure ye, Kagome did not use the beads against ye, however ye can be assured that Kagome had a hand in ye’s troubles.”“Figures, the wench is always finding ways to do something stupid.”Kyade looked over at her patient and shook her head. Taking the mirror handed to her by her assistant, Kyade held it in front of Inu Yasha. Rubbing his head Inu Yasha looked at his reflection. “What the fuck did she do?” Inu Yasha howled. He looked like Sesshomaru with a few changes. He had a crescent moon on his forehead, the red moon facing upwards so that the points were up. In addition to the moon his demon markings were present and ran down his body. “Kagome would be the only one who could answer ye.”“Shit Kagome.” Inu Yasha leapt from the bed and left the wing headed straight for his brother and Kagome. Sesshomaru was just closing the bedroom door when Inu Yasha skid to a stop in front of him. They stared at each other for a moment before Sesshomaru sighed and opened the door to his room again. They entered but as soon as the door closed Inu Yasha spun around. “How is she?”“I don’t know. She disappeared soon after she gave us her power.” Sesshomaru motioned to a chair beside the bed and Inu Yasha took it, falling into the seat. “Keh, what did she do to me?”“She has recently become the Goddess of Balance and a few other things, my orders before we started was to help you balance your blood.”“I remember parts of the fight, but not all of it. Then I woke up with the old hag.”“Hn.” Sesshomaru sat down on the bed mindful not to disturb his Mate.“Why does it smell like blood?”“It is of no concern to you.” Sesshomaru finally said growing tired of all the questions. “I think it is. You’ve hurt Kagome over and over, I’m not just going to watch.” Inu Yasha stood standing in front of Sesshomaru angry.“Do not question me. Kagome is the one how offered and she is the one who sacrificed herself. You would be dead most likely if not for her; our father could be still alive. Do not question this one’s choices.”“Wait what?” Inu Yasha finally backed away from the irate demon Lord. “The old hag mentioned this was Kagome’s doing.” Motioning to himself.“This one will not go into detail, but Kagome asked that part of her remaining power be given to you in hopes of balancing your blood. This one and she herself did not know what would happen.”“So it is her fault.” Inu Yasha accused still unsure of his changes.Sesshomaru didn’t say anything, not finding a valid defense for his Mate.
The children had been sent to their respective rooms and brought lunch. Izayoi had been to see if any damage had been done when she had been raped. Kagura and Sango talked with the guards and the South wall had even more people posted on it. Miroku had taken to the library in search of something that could help, even if it was a barrier. The four pups that were with wet nurses were taken to an inner sanctuary where they were surrounded with their father’s smell and many of Kagome’s robes.
Kagome sighed and closed her eyes. Something about this place was grating on her nerves. Maybe it was the silence, or just the fact she couldn’t move. Thinking to herself was in ways silent. Finally deciding to do something if anything, Kagome tried to create something to fill the emptiness around her.After what seemed like forever, Kagome gave up. Wherever she was wasn’t a place she could bend to her will.
