Chapter 23~Always Something!

~~~Kagome got off work and was met by Kyoto. They talked about her first day and Kyoto was really happy for Kagome. She seemed to be smiling alot and her face was lit up with joy. Kyoto really liked to see that on Kagome. Kyoto had explained to Kagome her reasons for not stoping by the office earlier, after meetings and such, she realized it would not be a good idea to just stop by to chit chat, since Sess was not one to tolerate idleness in his employess, and she didnt want anything to interfere with her first day. Kagome totally understood and thanked Kyoto for understanding and letting her go about her day without interuption.

~~~Kagome was going to take the transit home, but Kyoto had offered her a ride. Kagome accepted and they talked on the way to Kagome's house.

"Are you sure you wont come??? It'll be fun?" Kyoto asked one more time, she wanted Kagome to celebrate her first day at the office and Kyoto was going out with Inu to this new club that had opened up, of course they had been invited since the club wanted some good press and Inu being the playboy he was, had to make an apperance, as well as Kyoto. They wanted to give the impression to others that they could be serious business as well as fun loving people. Plus the owner of the club was an old friend of the family so they had to make an appearance.

"I would love to go, but I want to spend the night with my mom and step dad, tell them all about my first day." Kagome declined politly. Kyoto smiled.

"Ok Kag, but I will leave your name at the door in case you change your mind k?" Kyoto replied as she waved to Kagome and drove off. Kagome smiled and started walking up the steps to her parents home.

~~~As soon as Kagome walked in the door, her smiled faded and she just wanted to cry. It was like Murphy's law or something. When ever something good in her life happened something bad always did to and she hated that. Why couldnt she just enjoy ONE day of happiness? She could hear her mom and step dad arguing in the kitchen. Yes they loved each other and most times they were the perfect couple, but no ones perfect and all couples argue or fight on occasion. Kagome's parents were no exception. She could here bits and peices of the fight and knew pretty much what the problem was. Apperantly her father had stopped at the near by pub to have a beer with one of his co workers, but what the co worker had failed to mention was this he was going to meet his single sister there. And Kagome's mom disliked this woman with a vengence. She didnt wish her harm or anything like that, but from day one, when both Kagome's parents had met the woman, it was plain that she was flirting and trying to seduce her step father. Of course he never did anything to provoke the attention or encourage it, but Kagome's mom had fumed and disliked the woman since.

~~~Kagome was not a violent hatefull woman, but when something riled her up, she could get scary looking. She was small and petite but the look she could give you when she was mad, could make a grown man cower with fear. Right now her step dad was trying to calm her mother down and her mother was asking why he had stayed for over an hour after learning she was there? That was really the problem. Kagome didnt doubt her step dad loved her mom with all his heart and soul, and didnt doubt his faithfullness to her, but he was a guy, and sometimes they liked the boost thier ego got when another woman was flirting with them. So hence the argument. Her mom accused and he denied and it went round and round in circles. Kagome would of trying to calm them down, tryed to be the peacemaker like she had always been. But she had learned recently that she couldnt even fix up her own screwed up life, so what made her think she could fix others?

~~~Unable to take the arguing which she knew would last most the night, although they would try to be quiet and less vocal when they found out she was home, Kagome decided she needed to get out of there. Her parents needed to deal with this and if she was there then they wouldnt be able to get the argument out of thier system, and if they didnt the next few days would be tense and awkward between them and around her. So pasting a fake smile on her face and slamming the front door extra loudly so they knew she was home, Kagome yelled out.

"Im home!" she called out loudly and the angry voiced immediatly died down the minute they heard the door slam. Not wanting to make them feel anymore uncomfortable Kagome headed to the kitchen and only popped her head in, the fake smile still on her face.

"Hi Mom Hi Jingo..Im sorry but Im going out for a bit do you mind? Kyoto wants to celebrate my first day on the job and offered to take me out for dinner and a little dancing, is that ok with you guys?" Kagome asked, although she was old enough, she was living in thier home and it was only right to ask. Both seemed a bit relieved by her news and Kagomes mom smiled.

"Its very ok Kagome, you go have a good time with your friend, Im really happy you had a wonderfull day at your new job too." her mom replied.

"Yes sweetie I knew you could do it...have fun tonight." Jingo added. Kagome smiled wider, although it was still fake and hugged them both before the bounced out of the kitchen and up the stairs. Once she got to her room her smile faded and her bounce left. She was really good at pretending everything was ok. She hated to worry anyone and tried her best to make things seem ok.

~~~Kagome sighed. Already she could make out muffled voices of her parents downstairs. They were trying hard to be more quiet but, it was easy to hear that they were still arguing. Deciding she did need to leave, she figured shed take Kyoto up on her offer and join her at the new club. Why not she thought? Its been awhile since Ive been anywhere and a little night out dancing might be nice. She used to love to dance, it had been a long time since she had. So deciding she rummaged through her closet and found the perfect outfit and then went to take a shower. After she was dressed and ready she called a cab and headed out to the night club. She had to admit it was a bit exicting to be going to the grand opening of a new hip club, she just hoped nothing else would go wrong. It was like trouble was determined to follow her no matter where she went.

A/N~Ok sorry it took so long to update, again my muse has taken a hike and things are on hold, but I wanted to get a chap out and I wanted you all to see that even though I had potrayed Kagomes mom and her step dad as thee perfect couple, even they have fights and problems cause no ones perfect..lol..no matter how much you love someone, there are just times that you get angry and you fight verbally. Anyhow hope it wasnt too bad and I will get the next chap up as soon as I can, wonder how Kagome's night out will go?? hehe...anyhow let me know what ya think and sorry the chap is totally short. huggles and smiles Mija..:-)
