Chapter 22~Still first day!

~~~It was like an hour till her first day was over. Of course she wanted to stay late and finish what she was doing, but she knew by now that Sesshoumaru was a major stickler for going by the book so to speak. He wanted his servants to take their propep breaks and such. So she knew she pretty much had not choice of going home at the time she was supposed to. As she thought it was not that long till her shift was over, and her first day was going off with out a hitch..till he came.

~~~Inuyasha had spent the whole day with thought of Kagome and finding one reason or the other to see her, but since she was working with her brother it had to be a darn good reason cause family or not Sesshoumaru was not one to tolerate idle chit chat and such. He was going crazy trying to find some reason to at least SEE her and had almost given up hope when a fax came in and gave him the perfect oppurtunity to see his brother and Kagome. He totally did not expect to recieve the kind of treatment he did. Sess's last assistant cowed towards him and Kyoto and they basicly did not question thier presence at thier brothers office. Apperantly Kagome did not see things the same way.

~~~Inuyasha walked into the main suite of Sesshoumaru's inter sanctum and smirked when he saw Kagome sitting at the desk entering something into the computer. She looked up at him and smiled.

"Hello Mr. Takahashi may I help you?" she asked with a warm pleasant smile and tone of voice. He frowned at her.

" Keh, you know my first name wentch use it." he replied, yes he was testy. All the frustration and now her calling him by his sir name was not a good combo, he wanted to hear her sweet voice calling out his first name.

"Im sorry Inuyasha may I help you?" she asked with a slight jaw clentching smile and Inu had to smirk. She was still the same. She wanted to yell at him but thought she had to be polite because of her job. He could like this.

"Not really wentch I just need to talk to my brother for a sec." he replied with a smirk as he made his way to his brothers office door, only to be stopped by Kagome who had jumped up and stood between him and the door.

"Im sorry Inuyasha but I dont have you down in my appointment book and my instructions were for Mr Takahashi not to be disturbed by anyone under any cicrcumstances..hes in a meeting." she replied. Inuyasha frowned.

"Keh, that dont include me." he said stubburnly. Kagome frowned.

"Sorry Inu but yes it includes you..you have to wait," she replied seriously and Inuyasha had lost it. He started to rant and rave and still Kagome did not give in. She stayed by the door and blocked him from going in. Unless Inuyasha wanted to move her physically he couldnt do anything about it.

"Just sit down and I will tell Mr Takahashi you are here." she told him as she picked up the phone and dialed Sesshoumaru's extension, all the while eyeing Inuyasha as he glared at her evily. No one had ever denied him access to his brothers office and this grated on his nerves.

"Mr Takahashi your brother Inuyash Takahashi is here to see you." she said into the phone. What surprised Inuyasha the most was not that Kagome had barred him but that his brothers response had been for him to wait till his client left. That left Inuyasha fumming on the couch, glaring at Kagome. She just smiled at him with a warm and huge smile that made him want to strangle her and kiss her at the same time.

"You really like this dont you Kagome???" he asked.

"Thank you for asking Inu and yes I love my new job." Kagome replied with a warm cheery voice, totally ingnoring his sarcasm.

"You know thats not what I mean wentch." he growled and Kagome giggles then sobered up.

"Im sorry Inu but my instructions were to let no one bother him under any circumstances and Im sorry if that puts you out, but I work for Sesshoumaru and not you and I want to do my job right." she replied with her head held high and her shoulders sqaured. Inuyasha had to admire how bold and strong she was and if this is what a good job and confidence did then he couldnt blame her. Although he wouldnt admit it.

"Keh..you know you like the power wench..you know you love knowing you can tell me when and when I cant see my bro dont you." he replied.

"Actually I dont...you seem to think I like hurting you Inu..I dont..I just want to do my job right and do it well." she replied. Inu didnt say anything but let that sink in. She did look happy and he didnt want to take that from her.

~~~Inuyasha although pretending to look annoyed he sat and watched Kagome as she did her work. Part of him wanted to sigh with joy at seing her as she worked. Yes it annoyed him to be sitting there and she ingnoring him if he wastnt there, but to see her acting like that, see her looking happy and content he couldnt help but feel a twinge of happiness in it. He hadnt seen much of that in her and to see it now made him feel good. He wanted to see her look like that alot. He wanted to see her smile and see the look of confindence in her he saw now. He just wished he was causin that look and not a job she did for his older brother,

~~~Soon his brothers door openeed and his client left and Sesshoumaru gestured Inuyasha in. There wasnt much to tell, but it was valid and Sesshoumaru looked at Inuyasha with a raised eyebrow.

"You could have phone this to me or told me later Inuyasha...why the need to do it now?" he asked with a look that said he knew.

"I thought youd want to know." came Inuyasha bored reply.

"Lets not play games Inu you wanted to check on Kagome and I understand that." he replied.

"What makes you think that?" Inuyasha asked with a growl. Sesshoumaru growled and smirked.

"Please Inu I know you well enoug..but I must tell you this..if you care about her then do not do anything to cause her to loose her job...as you know I may like the woman but I will not play favorites...she will do her best and follow my rules and if she does not then she will loose her job..wether you like it or not...dont make me do that by interfering Inuyasha." Sesshoumaru warned and Inuyashs growled at him then sighed.

"I know...but I cant help but want to be by her..I dont know what it is..and I cant tell you why..all I know Is that I cant stop thinking of her and wanting to be around her,." Inuyasha confessed.

"Nothing wrong with that brother but just remember..your love life and business is different...dont intertwine the two." Sesshoumaru warned and Inuyasha fehed as he walked out of the office. He looked at Kagome and wished he could tell her how he felt. He wanted to aske her out to dinner, anything to see her for the night but he was just to leary of it right now.

"Later Kagome." he ended up saying. She smiled at him brightly, which made hs gut clentch.

"Later Inuyasha, hope to see you soon." she replied absently and with a huge smile on her face."
