Chapter 21~Meeting Sesshoumaru!

~~~Sesshoumaru was at his office by five in the morning. He knew his new assistant was supposed to be there till eight, but as for him he usually started the day at five. It was extremly hard running a multi million dollar company such at his family company and there was alot that needed to be done. Most times he enjoyed the hard work, enjoyed the game of wheeling and dealing, but then there were times he actually envied his brother and sister. Sometimes he wanted to be the carefree playboy and jet around the world dating supermodels and rock stars, or go out to nice business lunches or dates like his sister did. He envied thier freedom and lack of caring if photographed doing something spontaneous or a bit outrages. But he couldnt do that, not him. He was the head of the firm and president. He had to keep a pristine image, the fate of the company and of his families future rested in his hands and he couldnt let them down. But sometimes. Sometimes he did wish.

~~~Kagome was nervous. She sat in the passanger seat of her step fathers older model but extremly well taken care of car, fidgeting with her purse straps. Jingo looked at his step daughters hands and saw her biting her bottom lip, clear signs of her nervousness. He smiled at her, hoping to convey his confidence in her with it. She smiled back but it lacked any real warmth and he knew she had barely payed attention to it.

"Sweetie calm down..at this rate your going to wear out the straps to your purse and bit a hole in your lip before you even get to work." Jingo said in a warm teasing tone that caught Kagome off guard for a bit, then she smiled, a real smile.

"I know Jingo I know..its just this isnt like any job Ive ever had..I mean Ive mostly worked in boutiques, in retail, as a waitress and stuff like that..Ive never worked as a personal assistant to the president of thee biggest conglamerate in the entire world." she replied with a heavy sigh. She never called Jingo dad or father, although in her heart and mind he was, but she had called her abusive father both and the taste of the word in her mouth left a bitter taste, Jingo totally understood and didnt mind at all.

"Kagome sweetie..did you cheat to get this job??" Jingo asked and Kagome looked at him in confussion.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean did someone give you this job??...did you perhaps cheat on the test at the temp service?" he asked, and Kagome gasped, looking totally shocked. She couldnt believe her father just asked her that.

"Of course not!..I worked hard on that test!...No one gave me this job I got it on my own!" she practically shouted indignantly.

"Then why are you worried sweetie?...as you said..you worked hard to get this job...and got it all on your own...and Im sure your going to prove that to your new boss and hes going to realize that he wont be able to run that place without you." he replied with a huge grin and Kagome smiled widely at him, realizing exactly what he had done. She reached over and gave him a huge hug as he finished pulling over to the side of the huge office building.

"Thanks Jingo..I needed that." she said as she kissed him on the cheek and got out of the car, her confidence restored.

"Go get em sweetie." he responded as he waved at her.

~~~Oh God Oh God Oh God. Kagome chanted over and over in her mind as she stood before Sesshoumaru as he looked at the file he had on her from the temp service and no doubt the profiles of her other jobs and such. When she had arrived, she had knocked on the door when the guard had walked her up and informed him of her arrival. He had motioned her in and hadnt said a word since then, she had been standing there for what seemed like forever. Just looking at him and his facial expressions and his posture told her this was a very serious man. He was not like Inuyasha or Kyoto. She surmised that he wasnt one to laugh alot or joke around. He was all business and dedicated. She was going to have to work hard to prove herself to him. On a totally unrelated thought, she had to admit the mad was gorgeous. It was like he was a combo of Inuyasha and Kyoto put together, features that looked beautifull and a bit feminine, yet a voice and body that was totally all male. Where Inu was rough around the edges, his older brother was totally smooth. Now she knew why women often swooned at the site of him and why they wanted to win his heart. She had always thought it was because of the money, but she was sure he would be a catch even without a dime to his name.

~~~The clearing of a throat bought her out of her musings and she must of blushed ten shades of red when she caught her new boss looking at her with a small smirk on his face and a quirked eyebrow. It was like he could read her mind and that made her blush more. Damn but the man was definatly hot, but this was definitly not the time to think of those things.

"Miss Hiragashi, you and I both know that you are well aquainted with both my sister and brother do you not?" he asked in a serious tone.

"Yes sir I know Kyoto and Inuyasha." she replied.

"I want to make it very clear to you that your relationship with either of them will hold no bearing to wether you work here or not...I expect you to work for me and give me one hundred percent if not more of your best...just because you know my sister and brother I will not go easy on you." he stated blankly. Kagome stood straighter and looked him directly in his eyes.

"Of course not..I wouldnt expect it or want it that way...If I can not do this job on my own and keep it on my own then I dont deserve or want to work here...I expect nothing from you other than to be fair and reasonable like any boss would be towards an employee...not at your siblings friend." she stated strongly.

"Very well...I am glad we understand one another..now come..let me show you what your duties are and what I will require of you." Sesshoumaru stated as he grabbed some files and papers and led her around the office and private suite the comprised the presidents offices. No one other than authorized personel were allowed in this area and Kagome had needed to take a picture for her special I.D, but even then a guard at the entrance had to let her in by punching a code into a key pad.

~~~After Sesshoumaru showed her everything and told her exactly what her duties were, he retreated into his inner office and left her to do her job. Kagome had confidence in the ability to do it, but when she saw all the work she had to do, she had to rethink on it. Kyoto had told her that her brother was a good business man but that he had no concept of running an office and he despretly needed an assistant. Now she knew Kyoto hadnt been kidding. There was soo many back files that needed filing, updates in the computer to be entered, faxes that should of gone out weeks ago, appointment that should of been made and entered into his schedule and many many other things that had been sitting there waiting for someone to put them all in thier proper order. When lunch came around she was still working when Sesshoumaru came out of the office and saw her working.

"Did you not notice the time?" he asked as he looked up at the huge digital clock on the wall oppisite of her desk and his office door.

"Yes sir." she replied as she entered some more entries intot he computer and then looked up at him.

"Would you like me to order you some lunch now Mr. Takahashi?" she asked him in a warm happy sort of tone. She had to admit the work was hard but totally satisfing, she loved it.

"No thank you I have much work to do, but you on the other hand need to take a lunch break." he replied.

"I have much work to do as well sir..if you dont mind I would like to continue it." she responded. He quirked an eyebrow at her.

"Thats very admirable, but I do not want you over working yourself and going hungy as well..besides I have a rule about my employees taking their proper breaks when they are supposed to." he stated.

"Alright sir...do you mind if I eat in the break room then??? I bought my lunch with me and do not need to leave the suite."

"Of course, thats what its there for." he replied as he walked back into his office.

~~~Kagome sighed, not wanting to stop what she was doing. She was in working mode and she feared she would loose it if she took a break and she really wanted to catch up on alot of the past due things that needed badly to be straightened out. All in all she liked her job and she was happy with her ability to do it. As she walked towards the break room, where the refridgerator was, and her lunch she smiled a truelly huge blinding smile. For the first time in a long time she felt happy, things were going right with her world right now and although a nagging part of her in the back of her head warned her that when things went good, they soon crashed around her in a painfull way. But she wasnt going to let that get in her way. She wanted this, and she was going to do her best to make sure nothing messed that up for her.

A/N~Okies heres the next chap hope you guys like it. So glad I got this meeting with her in Sess out, hope it wasnt too boring, and before anyone asks..no not a Kag/Sess pairing. Shes a girl and she admired a fine looking man, but she still has the hots for her foul mouthed bad boy Inu..hehe anyway let me know what ya think..huggles and smiles Mija..:-)
