Forever Yours

Kagome didn't know what came over her. Kagome didn't know if it was her never ending stubbornness or the fact that her heart ached for Inuyasha, and had finally broken, which caused her to leave this place. Her leg muscles began to hurt from the consent running that she was now creating. Her tears that she tried to hold back flow freely from her unhappy eyes. Her heart felt like it was torn from her body that her mind was never going to let her forget the scene she so recently interrupted. Her time with him had been nothing but heartache and now she can finally came to see that it wasn't her that his heart ached for.

Kagome couldn't take much more of his consent loyalties he always preach he had, and the never ending lies that spilled from his mouth every time it opened. The memories of him being there for her in times of need made her think that maybe deep down she held a chance to win his heart, yet she was so wrong. Thinking back what hurt her the most was the fact that he plagued to her his life. He said straight to her face that he cared for her, that he would be with her to the end. `The end must be this day.' He says he always keeps his promises and he did promise her that. Kagome's didn't want to think what was happening to him at that very moment with her. All she wanted to do was return home where she can live in peace.

Kagome stopped when she reached the well. She cursed this place for all it was worth. This well was what brought her to this unhappy place. The place that ripped her heart right out from inside her. ` That's what this place does. It takes away all the hope one has for life. It destroys who you are.' Kagome couldn't stand being in this place. Each time she returned home a little more of her was lost to the past. Yes, the jewel was her responsibility, but she was just going to give it to Inuyasha in the end any ways. She had no reason to stay any more. She wasn't strong enough to face Naraku, so what help was she there. He had his Kikyo now and that's all that matters. `That's all he cares about, Kikyo. That's all he ever cared about.' Kagome said her good-byes earlier and gave up the jewel shards to her most trusting of all friends, Sango. She couldn't face Inuyasha one last time before she left. All she had left was the strength to give him a fake smile and walk away without words spoken. Kagome looked around one last time. The trees that shinned so brightly once before have all but died. Summer was leaving and it took with it her heart. `Once your heart leaves you there is no way to get it back. I shall always love you, Inuyasha.' With one last tear that slid down her cheek Kagome was erased from the past that stole her heart.
